I have been using the MyPrepOffice for 5+ years now and I have seen continued overall improvement in the accuracy and linking of the software year after year. My practice continues to expand and I will be testing the software with more complex tax filings in the future. With the continued improvements I have experienced over the past 5 years, I expect the software will be able to meet or exceed my expectations.
The Help Desk is as good as it can get as the representatives are always helpful and great to work with.
As with any tax software, never rely on the software for complex issues without verifying the accuracy. Always double check the accuracy of the data being calculated in the software, esp. Multi state tax filings. Federal and State taxation is vast and always changing and I have found that no software is 100% accurate. If such inaccuracies exist (which on occasion they have within this tax software), the help desk will usually be able to promptly resolve them.
Lastly, I believe the pricing for this web based tax software is very competitive.
In summary, I can recommend MyTaxPrepOffice Software for tax returns that are low to medium in complexity. I honestly cannot comment on the more complex tax returns as I have not prepared such tax returns in this tax software to date.
This will be my second year using MyTAXPrepOffice for my part time (moonlighting) tax practice. I I basically ran it parallel with another well known tax software system in the first year for piece of mind. Although the first year was a learning curve, I was able to get up to speed and process and e-file a decent amount of 1040's. The on-line chat support is very helpful -other than a couple of times, the on-line chart support was quick to respond. As a result, they were a big help. I did find some oversights with the multi-state tax returns (resident and non-resident), as I had to calculate and override some data fields in the state tax returns (if I recall, the credit for taxes paid in another state did not flow into the resident tax return). It would be great if MyTAXPrepOffice can fix and improve. In addition, when I converted tax returns over from my prior tax software, not all the data fields transferred over. Again, it would be great if they can improve on the conversion process to include all the data fields. I do want to start using MyTAXPrepOffice for 1065's, 1041's and 990's this busy season. I do believe the system has alot of automated bells and whistles that I am not utilizing. I plan on continuing to use MyTAXPrepOffice going forward with cautious. As with any tax software, double check your input to make sure it was properly recorded in the tax returns and the supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness. I believe they will continue to improve their platform. In my experiences, no tax software is 100% perfect. At this point, I can say the software is very good for straightforward tax returns. I haven't tested for the more complex tax returns yet. Lastly, I think the price is very competitive for what you get.

I am running on 1g internet speed. I have disabled any virus and firewall protections and taken what I can out of active memory. Yet, you have to sit and wait for their servers to download. You get page unresponsive three + times. The program has a lot of nice features but it is completely wasted when it takes you 4X longer to complete a simple return. As a return gets more involved, the new form download time gets even worse. I can only recommend this to preparers who have very good tax knowledge of tax form flow thru, and who are doing simple uncomplicated returns. Even then you don't want to have a client sitting in front of you where it takes 3 hours to complete a relatively uncomplicated return. You should check to make sure that the software does what it should and not rely on the program to be 100% correct. One nice thing about this program and it helps compensate for any program problems or incorrect flow thru is that it lets you override the program in most instances. I chose to switch to this program as I am winding down my tax prep days after 42 years and could not justify the cost of full blown tax package again this year as the number of tax returns has decreased since I stopped adding new clients over 8 years ago. The cost savings were not worth the multiple problems that this software presented.

I have been using MTPO for a number of years. I believe I used it the first year that they were accepted by the IRS as a filing solution. I am not a large preparer and found that the support and the interface were adequate for my small tax prep business. From the beginning, i had questions and reservations about the answers to some of my questions but they all passed IRS scrutiny, so I grew to have confidence. They have made significant changes to their for the 2019 filing of tax returns and I am apprehensive about using the program this season; I will but I am apprehensive. I believe that the printing of the returns is my biggest grievance. I try to do as much client communication electronically as i can, though my gripe will seem trivia to many it is large with me, When I produce copies for my clients I want them to be able to print their forms with no problems in hte presentation of this forms. The issue I am critical of is that when it prints to. PDF, it does not include a blank page for the back of forms that are intended to be blank. If that were accomplished I feel that i would raise my rating to at least 4.5 stars out of 5. I will continue to use it for my filings until I either outgrow it it become too expensive for me to use.
