The basis of any SAAS business is to provide a software solution that is better and easier than the competition. MyTAXPrepOffice failed at this. The User Interface (UI) is awful. Returns do not come pre-loaded with forms. There is not an optional interview format that adds the most basic forms to personal or business returns. For tax prep staff, this makes for a very EXPENSIVE tax season, as you pay significantly more for the preparation of a return. If your staff does not have full knowledge of the tax code and what forms need to be included, which many seasonal prepares do not have, then this software is next to useless. Stick with tried and tested tax prep software and avoid this one at all costs.
Today I was guided with the set up of the new software. Ms. Keesha was patient, took the time to answer all of my questions, connect all of the dots to make the transition smoothly, between software, connecting my banking and my clients. I will be referring her and the software, very self explanatory, takes step by step through the tree of processing taxes. Freedom to explore by either name or number of any forms I would like to populate. Feel secure with the exchange of sensitive documents and keeping my clients data safe.
The staff is really nice and helpful, but they have a lot work to do with their software. I had to use an online software because I use a Mac, their software reasonably priced and online. I had a few problems with them and calculation but they fixed them. State Return efiles took over a month to get start. I will try again next year but they better come with all the issues worked out
I have nothing but great things tp say about this software and their costumer service, the software its easy to use, costumer service its above and beyond, they walk you through everything and are happy to assist you with any questions.
I use tech support too much, for which I am sorry. Having said that, MTOP rocks! I have been doing taxes for 45 years and have never had such helpful, knowledgeable, competent and courteaus support. I am a better tax prepare because of it and cannot tell you that over the past four years, they have done their job in spades. Thank you so much for this experience. I'm a retired partner of a national firm and have practiced for 41 years. I started when we would ship our return input sheets off to our computer center for processing. Later we moved to using expensive software by national software vendors. When I retired, I continue working as a consultant and also started my own tax practice. I found much less expensive software that was perfect for my practice through ATX. I was skeptical about making the change to MyTaxPrep, but the offer they made me made sense and I have not regretted it. I knew I'd have time invested in the learning curve, but it has been worth it. There's only been a few times that I've been frustrated with an issue and tech support has been great. I'm glad I made the move!
I contacted the site support and was disconnected 3 times before I was turned over to David Martinez. I was trying to complete a 1040X for 2021. Nothing was updating. David calmed me down and took over the return making the changes that were necessary for the return to work correctly. I told David to tell his boss that additional training is needed when we call for an amendment. It took David 1 plus hrs to repair what was not working. He was very informative all the way through his repair of the return. If you want a tech that will walk you through the process correctly then you need David Martinez.
Mytaxprep doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the much more expensive programs have, which is fine with me because I am not paying for something that I don't need. I find Mytaxprep to be totally adequate, easy to use, and the tech support is perfect.
I made the mistake of purchasing this software, ignoring all the bad reviews. As of March 9th, the state franchise and excise tax returns are still not ready to submit. The calculations were incorrect. The K-1's were incorrect for the 1065. There are errors on the 1065 they can't seem to resolve. I had to purchase my old software to do my clients returns.
When I asked for a refund they informed me they had a 30 day return policy that ended for me in October. (before the tax season started)
Thibault was kind enough to assist with setting up our MyTax Prep Office software and getting things moving in the right direction. It's always a bit confusing at the beginning of tax season so the patients of Thibault was greatly appreciated and his knowledge of how to maneuver around the forms and setup was great. The software is pretty straightforward but needs a little practice using if you are coming from a different tax software platform. Will be happy if we have Thibault assist us again in the future if needed!
I was very impressed with the degree of knowledge of Mr. Rafael Rodriguez. I had issues with a 2021 amended tax return and he was extremely competent and savvy to assist me. I could sense, he prioritized me. Mr. Rodriguez was very professional, patient, and most importantly, respectful. He helped resolve my tax issues and for that, I am grateful for his expertise.

When I was approached by a Rep from MyTAXPrepOffice software two years ago, I was very reluctant to make the change. Today, I am very happy I did. This is the most convenient software I have ever used and I am completely satisfied with everything they offered. (By that I mean, the product, the price and their customer service). I have no problem recommending this product.
My taxprepoffice is a great tax software. I used it for the 2019 tax season and is efficient, convenient and easy to use; most of all customer service is extremely reliable and answers any questions immediately. Best of all prices are extremely affordable. I will definitely use it next year and recommend it to tax preparers.

I too had a learning curve initially but I now seem to feel competent plus they have a good Chat line support that I use for technical and some tax prep advice.
