The Delivery Guys

The furniture delivery guys, Bryan and his associate were both courteous, knowledgeable and professional. They called before they can, letting us know their scheduled arrival time. Once they arrived, they immediately identified themself and the company they represented. They set up everything quickly, leaving no boxes or debree behind. I would give them a 10 out of 10! L. Though the delivery men did not show up on the schedule date I was called by the corporate offices and informed that my furniture would arrive in a few days. True to their word the furniture arrived a few days later in the early morning hours. The delivery men set up my sofa bed in a matter of minutes and politely accepted the small tip given to them. I will definitely shop at Bob's Discount Furniture again.

Our couch was delivered 9/17 and we paid $200 for white glove service. The handymen did not have the screws necessary to assemble the couch legs. 9/19 another person came, again without screws so was unable to finish the white glove service paid for. I have been reaching out for the last 3 weeks to no avail. Finally today I received an EMAIL offering a $50 gift card (obviously towards Bob's in the future) as "compensation" for the lack of white glove service. I want a refund as it is ILLEGAL to charge someone for services they did not consume!

Crappy sleep

I bought a mattress from bobs 3 1/2 years ago. What a rip off. Already giving me back aches every day. Asked bobs to come out and get a credit, they said it meets all standards. So when in bed and sink to my boxspring, that's up to standards?

Dissatisfied

Made a purchase and was told they would work with me on a delivery time.
4 weeks later I'm told I won't get it for another 4 weeks, and can't guarantee a time of delivery to make sure someone will be there. All set! Cancel that order!

Nope Never Again

I bought a grey bedroom set for my daughter and after 3 weeks the rail broke on the side of the bed. Bob's came and fixed it. 2 weeks later other rail broke, they came again and fixed it. One month later 1st rail broke in 2 places, I told Bob's to bring replacement bed. Nope! Came and fixed the rail again. Bed broke again! I was told I needed to get a metal bed frame. Really?
At the same time as the bedroom set I ordered a sofa. Well it has been 8 months and the cushions are so flat that you back hurts after sitting for more than 10 minutes. Bob's memory foam sucks. Customer service sucks. Bob's furniture sucks.

Do Not Buy!

Horribly made furniture. Ordered some kitchen chairs and on one chair the leg was shorter than the others so it rocks. Another one had home that weren't aligned properly when putting together so I had to rig it and drill some nails in it to hold together. First and last time I'll buy from Bob's.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Juan Cruzado at the Newington, CT Bob's Discount Furniture store! Working with Juan was like working with a family member who truly cared about my family's needs. Juan has extensive experience in the furniture business and shared his expertise with my family in a patient, knowledgeable, and competent manner, each and every time we spoke. When faced with questions or concerns, Juan responded with answers and solutions. He followed through and exceeded our expectations as we purchased a much needed piece of furniture. Bob's Discount Furniture Store management in Newington, CT is so lucky to have a sales manager, like Juan, who is so diligent, detail-oriented, and hard working. I am so grateful for all of his help and look forward to working with him in the near future on another furniture purchase! Bought mattress and box spring in March. Box spring defective. Bob's wanted to charge me to deliver replacement. I cancelled order. They have jerked me around ever since and it's July and I still have not received my refund. Even credit card company, who interceded, has had difficulty. Beware! The absolute worst service I've ever had. This has taken hours and hours. Also, they huck a $100 mattress cover that is junk. I've had 2 friends who bought them. They don't even stay on mattress. They creep off. And $100! I bought better box spring for $50 less at Bernie and Phyl's and got free 2-day delivery. Save yourself money and a lot of time - go elsewhere.

I purchased a couch which had never ending issues. Firstly, one of the side frames broke. I had purchased the good proof service so I told them about the issue. After so much hassling, they finally came and replaced that piece. Then it happened again. They said the piece was discontinued at the store. I called the claims department and they had me send them pictures and all and then say it is not covered as the manufacture warranty is over. I have the goof proof service for yet another 2 years to come. But they refuse to cover the broken frame again. Do not buy their cheap furniture as it won't last a year and they never honor their goof proof service. Go somewhere else. Its not worth it!

Living room set
February 9, 2022

I purchased a living room set a year ago from Bob's. My husband and I are 65 years old and have no children living at home. The set is not holding up. It has pricking on fabric and is bunching up. I am very disappointed. I called Bob's and they said since it was just over a year, they would do nothing. I will never buy again from them and will NOT recommend them. They should at least come out and see it and either give me a refund or discount on new set. Very frustrating that they don't stand by their products.

I was delivered a broken dresser. The company said they will deliver a new dresser a week later. On the day of the second delivery, the driver called and said he will be at the house earlier then expected and asked us to at the home at a certain time. My wife changed her whole schedule to come home early and accept the delivery. After waiting for an hour she called customer service and they said that the delivery was cancelled due to poor weather. No one called and let her know that the delivery was not coming anymore. Bobs prices are decent but the service is the worst I have ever encountered. We have no idea when the dresser will be delivered and if it will come in working condition. I rather pay a little more but know that I will getting proper service and furniture that is not broken.

Not what it seems!

Don't fall for the cooling beds! We sweat more in this bed than any other bed we ever owned! The electric base does not fold at the knees & it is awkward & uncomfortable!
We also ordered an entire living room of furniture & kept being told it was backordered & we would receive it next month, then the following month. We got so fed up we had to cancel the order & start all over somewhere else!

Why use a tracker when an arbitrary time will be provided to a customer after the fact. I guess I am upset because I took leave and my time will not be compensated for their lack of planning. Adding insult to injury, why should a customer sit on hold for over 8 minutes to speak with a manager... who was not a manager. I wont be back and I will not recommend this store again.

I purchased a sofa 4 months ago, and its completely caved in and unusable. The agents made 2 appointments and did not show. Finally the agent today said its normal wear and not replaceable.! It;s 4 months old. He told me to take it have it reupholstered, and refused to replace or refund... Their corporate office is unresponsive and I am filing a small claims court... I cant even afford a replacement...
They are reprehensible and should be fined for their practices.

We have called and been ignored, told it is not covered because it is just over a year old, bad workmanship,
Have the goof proof insurance, waste of money, doesn't cover bad workmanship. I have loaded receipt without our name address and phone number. Bad workmanship is not covered!

Poor quality products

The furniture from Bob's should be titled "you get what you pay for" The quality is very poor, not worth the cost. The Goof Proof policy is worthless, claims are denied for every reason. Do not buy their products, pay a little more elsewhere for better quality. I will not buy form Bob's again!

Nonsense!

In the past five years, I've purchased a bed set with a vanity, chest, and a mattress. I've also purchased a sofa set for my living room from Bob's. This year, I am officially DONE with them. I purchased a sofa and a love seat set from them in January 2021. By June 2021, the "leather" material started deteriorating. I reached out to them by phone, in person, and filed a claim through Guardian. What a joke! I wasted money and time making this purchase. On top of spending $2600 on the set, I also made a mistake of purchasing their 5-year nonsense warranty.

They started making their own rules that suited them to not cover the following issues with the living room set:

-The material started peeling within six months. Which isn't covered in the plan at all.
-The wood of the recliner broke. They did not cover that.
-The electrical part of the recliner broke. -They did not fix that.
-The hinges of the storage part broke. They didn't cover that as well.

Recently they sent me an email that this was their final decision. None of this was a regular wear and tear. This was all just made up from low quality material. I've purchased furniture 15 years ago that I still have and it is no where close to the condition of bob's furniture. I am highly disappointed with Bob's customer service, they refuse to understand the issue and just turn down any complaints the customer has.

I purchased a lift chair/recliner along with a five-year extended warranty. Within three months the leather began to discolor and wear off. Also, the electric cord leading to the handset has cracked and fully exposed the wiring. I will include photos.

After numerous phone calls with no help, or even a reply, I gave up. I would never do business with this company again.

Bob's sucks
April 1, 2021

I bought four sofas from Bob's last year. Two of them came with damage. Bob's replaced one of the sofas but refuses to replace or repair the other one.
On the one they won't replace or fix, the two arms are loose and crooked. And a light contained in the retractable center console of the sofa won't turn off. I've had to disconnect the light to prevent overheating and a possible fire.
That cute little guy on TV isn't going to get anymore of my business.
