I received a bunch of things I wanted from this site and I'm really happy with everything! However I only got accessories and general things for the apartment that they sell. They have a really awesome collection of apartment stuff I guess similar to what Urban Outfitters has. I don't know how their clothes are but for what i got, I'm very happy.
I have ordered from Modcloth twice and I am very happy with my purchases so far. I have not had to return anything yet, so I can't comment on their return policy. I am satisfied with the quality of the clothes and I've received compliments on them more than once. I highly recommend this site.
I've shopped and returned items to ModCloth before and now they claim to have free exchanges and returns, but read the small print... they charge a shipping fee for returns... why bother shopping online if you have to pay to return an item, just go to a store...
The one-star reviews baffle me!
Some of my favorite pieces come from ModCloth. I've been shopping with them regularly for years. As an avid online shopper, I'm also a regular item returner. Although the back and forth shipping with ModCloth can add up, I've always found thier customer service to be **FAR** superior to other online vendors.
I have owned several dresses from ModCloth for many years and I find the quality of the dresses is well aligned with thier prices. They are the same quality you'd exect from a department store - but the designs are unique and beautiful.
Many of my favorite dresses are from ModCloth. I get many compliments on my dresses and I'm always happy to recommend ModCloth.
Ordered 11/27 (today is December 7th) and it is STILL processing. What is there to process? If you try to speak to a rep you will be put on hold for hours. I emailed as well (yesterday) and still have not received a response. I don't mind a long wait, I would just like a little communication as to what is going on. I used to love this store, but it really has fallen off. I am super disappointed.
I've recently order 2 times from this site, cloths and Shoes. They come as they described and true to size. The dresses are beautiful and the shoes are comfortable and well made. Their customer service will response and try their best to help. Wonderful experience! Will sure shop here again!
I really like many of their clothes, but they are over priced for what the quality. I just recently bought a few sale iteams and I wore the bathing suit once in a hot tun for about an hour and bam! Tore in the cleveage area. It is particularly annoying because I cannot return or exchange a status it is a sale item. I like the patterns styles and such, but the quality just isn't worth the risk for me.
Hi there, Pamela. I'm very sorry to hear that your swim suit didn't hold up! We take the quality of our items very seriously, and when we fall short, we want to ensure we make it right. Please reach out to our Customer Care team, at modcloth.com/help, and they'll be glad to assist with this. We are available from 8am-11pm EST Monday-Friday, and 8am-9pm EST Saturday. The quickest way to get in contact is via phone or online chat. We certainly won't leave you with an item you aren't able to use!
I'm completely disappointed with Modcloth lately. Sometimes when a person contacts a rep about a problem, they would like to feel like they are being heard. BUT, lately, I am not being heard. No "I'm sorry, that sucks." OR "I completely understand, I would be frustrated too." An apology or a bit of empathy would go a LONG way, Modcloth.
Whether its shoes or a simple sweater, the customer reviews say it all. Poorly made, overpriced, ill-fitting flimsy materials. Or "once I washed it, it unraveled". Found a shirt I liked with 6 good reviews, on "sale" for $44, (cost $4 to make). Lots of polyester and rayon goin on with most of their stuff, one "description" just said IMPORTED. Sigh.
I order this shirt on Dec 2nd, it just got here the 17th! Said 4-7 business days. That was my last purchase from modcloth ripoff.
Was excited seeing all the super cute clothes, but was extremely disappointed with the actual dress I bought. Poor quality, terrible fit, even worse return policy. Charged almost $7.00 for the return, am still waiting on a refund, and was chastised by the customer service rep in online chat. FYI: their 800 number not only spammed me with ads while I was on hold, I had to wait for 5 ads to conclude which required pressing the pound key to move forward, after the fifth or so ad, I was told the 800 number had been changed and needed to try my call again.
I ordered a pair of jeans for 50-ish dollars off this website. Shortly after I started wearing them (I mean one wash and about 3 wears) they started breaking down. They weren't by any means overly tight but the but seam started separating and the elastic started fraying. This was around 3 months after I'd received them so they didn't fall within the window of returns and barely within exchanges. They only gave me a credit back because they'd already received them in the mail, and it was for the cost minus return shipping. It shouldn't matter that they'd been worn, washed, or in my possession for almost 3 months, pants SHOULDN'T BREAK DOWN like that, and any company worth their salt would've done something about it. I reached out to customer service twice and they ignored my complaint. They weren't willing to follow-through on quality control. There are plenty of better places to take your business. If you buy here you could be stuck with a lemon.
Modcloth's business model is unorganized and ridiculous. My order sat in "processing" for an unusually long amount of time, so I decided to call and see what was up. Apparently my box had been pushed off to the side unlabeled and totally unaccounted for, and it took me CALLING to push things along. By the time I called, they apologized and said it was "unlike them" to lose an order like this, but tried to get together what they could after their negligence. By the time they finished locating my order, half of the items they had charged me for were no longer available. I have never had a shopping experience with so much negligence. The order is still super late, half missing, and the staff really couldn't care less. I haven't even received it yet, so honestly who knows what I'm in for. This company is just terrible.
Hi, there. Thank you for reaching out. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, and the disappointing experience. This is something that is certainly not typical for us, so please rest assured that we want to help in any way we are able. I will absolutely share your feedback with the appropriate teams, and in the meantime, our Customer Care team is happy to check on the status of the items we were able to ship to you. We also will not charge for any items that don't ship, so if you are seeing a charge for those items, please let us know, and we will get that fixed, right away. Again, I'm very sorry for any disappointment.
This is an attractive site that provides a variety of fashion items in styles that would cost a lot more in stores like Anthropologie. I really appreciate the different sizes that make the products more attractive to a population of women of all sizes and shapes.
While the products are stylish, some of the items do seem to be poorly constructed, which causes the consumer to have to be more diligent in reading the customer reviews before deciding to purchase the items. While the products are more affordable than many retail stores, I do not think the prices justify a poorly constructed item.
Overall I think this is a great site, and enjoy shopping here!
Ordered the item a week before Christmas. I didn't expect for the item to get here before Christmas due to shipping delays on the shipping company (Fedex in this case). The problem falls even before that when it takes longer than 5 business days for ModCloth to even send the item.
Definitely won't be shopping here again.
I've been a ModCloth customer for years. I love their selection, and they have a fair amount of promotions. However, their returns have gotten much, much slowerit takes 3-4 weeks for me to receive my refund once I ship something back, and I don't even receive a confirmation email from them that they've received my shipment. Their CX agents are very friendly, their live chat is great, and their marketing emails are some of the best in the bizhowever, the overpriced, inconsistent-quality clothes and slow shipping and returns makes me think twice about shopping here.
Modcloth's customer mare is amazing. When I revived my order, I didn't get the right clothes. So I got on the live chat and was amazed by helpful it was. They said that yes, was order was incorrect, but the dresses I ordered were now sold out. They gave me a refund for the dresses and the shipping, plus they let me keep the order they sent me! My only problem was that I had to pay duties and taxes on a package that I didn't order.
My shipping was free as per a promotion. They added over $100 in shipping costs to my customs value and I was charged over $100 in customs fees as a result. Their customer care said this was unfortunate but didn't do anything to rectify the situation. Would never shop there again.
Hi Julie. Thanks so much for the feedback and I'm so sorry for the trouble! While we are absolutely able to cover upfront shipping fees via shipping promotions, we are unable to estimate any customs/brokerage fees at the time the order is placed. We know the surprise cost of paying customs upon delivery can be surprising to some customers, which is why we make sure to highlight that info during check out. Please know that we are constantly looking to ensure the ModCloth shopping experience is the best it can be, and our team is 100% aware of this frustration.
I complained about Metro Manila not being included in the address part of their shipping page. I've called them last 7/24 twice, 7/25 twice, 7/26, and 7/27.6 times they promised they would fix this. Also, my e-mail sometimes doesn't appear on their end, so the calls aren't smooth. I really like their clothes, however I couldn't get it because other provinces in the Philippines are in their shipping page except for the capital, Metro Manila, where I want it to be shipped. I hope they fix this issue soon.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Tiffany. Our team is working around the clock to ensuring our customers in Metro Manila are able to place orders soon. Our team will certainly be in touch as soon as there is a fix!
Ordered once and won't do it again. Really, really poor quality clothes. Not sure why it matters if they make their own clothes or not - they're distributing it and selling it. I ordered 1 piece dress, pencil-skirt cut on the bottom with a drapy, flowing top sewn together. I was really excited because the pic was so beautiful. When I got it & opened the box, it was immediately clear the material really really cheap - almost see-through, and it was clear the dress was badly constructed (loose threads in the arms!). The drapy top that looked silky online was a kind of weird shiny polyester. Ugh. Won't give myself the needless hassle of buying from this place again.
They won't accept Visa gift cards and their customer service reps are extremely rude and unhelpful. They kept telling me that the fact that the card was a gift was irrelevant and the problem was easy to solve by purchasing THEIR gift card. Either these reps are complete idiots who don't know how to do their job or extremely rude people who just don't care.
Answer: The quality is about 80% rubbish (based on 10 purchases and only keeping 2 items). Hardly any of the dresses are lined and they're made with very cheap fabric, they're also way more expensive than they used to be but the quality hasn't improved. The stitching is usually uneven and the cloth cuts are terrible. You have to pay to return things, and from Australia it often costs more in postage to return something than the item itself, so I wouldn't bother.
Answer: Hi, Priscilla. We do not currently send out a physical catalog. I'm sorry for any disappointment!
Answer: Hey, Leslie! No need to worry- returns are pretty easy, especially if you're in the U.S., where we can provide a free return shipping label. At this moment, we are just a little behind on getting returns processed, due to heavy volumes during our recent sales, but we're working on getting caught up, ASAP! Our Customer Care team can also always help with any returns questions you have, as well as checking on returns statuses. You can reach them from 8am-11pm EST Monday-Friday, and 8am-9pm EST Saturdays, at modcloth.com/help!
Answer: Yes, there are full cash refunds and online store credit for the returns. It is annoying, but you would go into the purchase history and there is a section to return whatever items you want. Then when you have completed that section there should be a return Label paper that you print out from your email. It is a fedex paper. The returns should be free.
Answer: Used to be great. Horrible now. Never true to size. Cheaply made from China.
Answer: Be sure to refer to the sizing chart for your size. Also keep in mind that some items are in European or Asian sizes. Be sure to read the full desription of the item to know if you need to size up or down.
Hi, Ally. Thank you for reaching out. I sincerely apologize for the frustration with this order, and for any trouble with getting in touch with our team. Last holiday season did bring large delays, and caused our Customer Care team to get behind in response times. Please know that I have shared your feedback with our team, and we are working to ensure future delays like this don't occur.
