These guys completely ruined my day. I made an order only to get an email from Fedex that they are going to charge me with fees which are more than half of my original order charge. Modcloth customer service are refusing to reimburse me for even a part of those fees, and I have another order on the way! They have lost my business forever.
I love ModCloth! Great vintage clothes, fantastic customer service, and easy browsing. My one wish is that their dresses were designed to nip in at the waist and come to a little above knee-length; the proportions of the dress often make it look like dresses are cut like this, but they're actually mostly empire waisted mini-skirts. Still, there are some great dresses in there, and the search is fun!
The products look cute in pictures but are incredibly poorly made. I mean REALLY poorly made! Customer service representative was unhelpful, sarcastic. I have shopped online for 15 years and have never been as unsatisfied with an experience as I am with ModCloth. I would never use them again, and will never recommend them to anyone.
We are a small company who supplied some beautiful products to Modcloth. They never paid us. They ghost all calls and are only interested in screwing small suppliers
Love this site! Easy returns, and if you agree to store credit they tack on an extra $5 to your account. They encourage people to review items and as long as you read the reviews you can stay away from the few things they sell that are not up to par...
I found a dress that I absolutely loved on ModCloth. $190. Looked up the actual designer of the dress, 50 British Pounds (~$66). Free shipping from the other store even, arrived in 6 days!
I suggest looking up the designers you find on ModCloth and determine if the "convenience" of this site is worth the difference in price.
I ordered an item for a Christmas gift. 2 weeks later checking order status shows order cancelled. Chat operator reports that item is out of stock. Unable to answer why it took 2 weeks to discover this or why it would let me order my item initially. I was offered 20% off next order. I declined an unsubscribed them. It's 2018 and there are many reputable online professional companies. This is not one of them.
Ordered $300 worth of clothes. Shipped to the wrong address, promised a refund - never got one. REALLY $#*!ty. The one gift to myself (my winter clothes...), stolen - non refunded and totally lied to by a CSR at ModCloth. Beyond pissed. Way to lose my business, forever. I was a huge fan, and this is unforgivable. I will be spamming the hell out of keeping people away from this.
I was a big buyer with them, bad form. BAD FORM.
I love modcloth. The choices are wonderful, unique and everything I've ordered has been true to size. I also love the way their site works, and the iPhone app. Basically, since discovering ModCloth I've purchased items from them once a month. I can't help it! Easy and awesome.
I order from them at least once a month. Shipping is always fast, and I haven't had any issues with quality like others. I tend to just buy dresses, and I'm usually happy with my purchase. I had to return a few things, but never had an issue.
In a nutshell, I <3 modcloth! I regularly buy my clothes from this site. I recently bought a dress that did not fit. I returned it and 4 months later hadn't been refunded. Turns out modcloth didn't get the package either so maybe fedex lost it. Anyway, the rep I spoke with was understanding and kind, and refunded me anyway (maybe I lost a few bucks in the return process, but hey). Good customer service and awesome clothing. I highly recommend.
We ordered a party dress on sale for a special event using the measurement recommendations on the website. We were excited and I didn't mind paying extra shipping to get the dress early. Unfortunately, when it came it was too large. I called to see if we could exchange it and NO, we could not even do that because it was a 'final sale'... returns I understand, but exchanges? Really?
First off, I love, love, love the clothes. They are quirky, unique, and really fun. My problem is with customer service. I exchanged an item for a different size. Later, when it became obvious that the item was not available in that size I reached out trying to get the exchange funds converted to store credit (they give you an extra $5 for store credit instead of a refund). I emailed them twice telling them to please convert the exchange, both times I got canned responses. It was obvious that the customer service rep didnt even read my questions. Ha! This is the first time I have run into any problems with them. If another time should happen I will stop shopping here.
So I bought one of their dresses because I was bridesmaid in a wedding. However, after I wore it once in a really hot, summer wedding, somehow my sweat dyed the dress. And even though it was PAST the return date, they still allowed me to return it and gave me back store credit to buy something else which was awesome. So their customer service was awesome and I'm so thankful.
I order from ModCloth all the time. I am usually very happy with my purchases. If I am not the customer service team is happy to take care of it. I have never had any issues with their customer service. I have to agree with some of the other reviews however that shipping is not the best. I have ordered overnight and noticed three days later that is has not shipped. I call and get it the next day. Also with the 4-9 day shipping sometimes takes about a week to ship. I have also received broken items or they were the wrong item all together. This doesn't bother me too much because the customer service team always takes care of it. Regardless of the shipping issues I will continue to love and shop this site.
The pictures of the products are great however, when I ordered my 3 pairs or shoes from them I was extremely disappointed. One of the pairs was on final sale but the quality was so bad (felt like walking on cardboard) that I got them to give me store credit. With that store credit I bought a different pair of shoes that I thought would be better because they looked like cool wooden heals with denim straps but the wood was just paint and the shoes felt hollow. Everything about them just felt wrong.
Although Modcloth state free international shipping for items over $75. They over inflated the value of my goods to British customs (by about $100) (This was confirmed by HMRC - British tax system) so now I have been hit by extortionate import duty on top of $15 shipping that I have somehow also been charged? I can't move forward with reclaiming it until I pay it and its going to be an uphill fight. Choosing to believe this is incompetent rather than deliberately dishonest? I also can't email them to complain unless I have a google email apparently?
Hi Beth. Thanks so much for the feedback and I'm so sorry for the trouble! It certainly sounds like this is a unique situation so please be sure to reach out to our Customer Care team at support@modcloth.com. They'll be happy to look into this further for you!
Unfortunately one of my items was broken when received, but when I contacted ModCloth, I was blown away about how kind everyone was. Despite my product having a malfunction, the customer service blew me away, hence my review. I will continue to be a customer for this reason. Thank you., ModCloth.
I must review them because of their high quality and excellent product. I just got A-Line Dress. The best thing is that it has high quality fabric with affordable price and seller has sent me the exact same product that was shown in the website.
Thanks for providing a quality product.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this review, Amir! We appreciate your kind words. Please let our Customer Care team (modcloth.com/help) know if there's anything they can assist with. Glad to know you're loving your recent order!
I buy weekly from ModCloth and have been doing so for a long time, it's safe to say that by now, at least 50% of my wardrobe is from ModCloth and I've spent a lot of money there with no problems, aside from the occasional pieces not fitting but not everything can be perfect every single time. All of the pieces I own from ModCloth are beautiful and very well made, hence the high prices.
Also, Wal-Mart buying out ModCloth means nothing. Companies buy out other companies all the time, it doesn't mean anything is going to change.
Answer: The quality is about 80% rubbish (based on 10 purchases and only keeping 2 items). Hardly any of the dresses are lined and they're made with very cheap fabric, they're also way more expensive than they used to be but the quality hasn't improved. The stitching is usually uneven and the cloth cuts are terrible. You have to pay to return things, and from Australia it often costs more in postage to return something than the item itself, so I wouldn't bother.
Answer: Hi, Priscilla. We do not currently send out a physical catalog. I'm sorry for any disappointment!
Answer: Hey, Leslie! No need to worry- returns are pretty easy, especially if you're in the U.S., where we can provide a free return shipping label. At this moment, we are just a little behind on getting returns processed, due to heavy volumes during our recent sales, but we're working on getting caught up, ASAP! Our Customer Care team can also always help with any returns questions you have, as well as checking on returns statuses. You can reach them from 8am-11pm EST Monday-Friday, and 8am-9pm EST Saturdays, at modcloth.com/help!
Answer: Yes, there are full cash refunds and online store credit for the returns. It is annoying, but you would go into the purchase history and there is a section to return whatever items you want. Then when you have completed that section there should be a return Label paper that you print out from your email. It is a fedex paper. The returns should be free.
Answer: Used to be great. Horrible now. Never true to size. Cheaply made from China.
Answer: Be sure to refer to the sizing chart for your size. Also keep in mind that some items are in European or Asian sizes. Be sure to read the full desription of the item to know if you need to size up or down.
Hi, Colleen. Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience with your order. Oversales are not too frequent on our site, but they do happen occasionally, particularly during large sale times, like this past holiday season. Please know that we are always working to improve upon this, and I will certainly share your feedback with the right teams.
