The company faces significant challenges in customer satisfaction and service reliability, as numerous reviews highlight issues such as unexpected charges, poor communication, and inadequate customer support. Many customers express frustration over billing discrepancies and difficulties in reaching live assistance, leading to perceptions of the company as untrustworthy. While some drivers receive praise for their service, the overall sentiment indicates a growing dissatisfaction with the app's functionality and the company's handling of complaints. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and address billing transparency.

ATTENTION TO PHILADELPHIA RESIDENTS: Stop using Lyft. One of their drivers is using fake photos to accuse riders of damaging their car to rob them of $100-250 worth of damage fees. Even after providing photo proof that this did not occur, Lyft customer service continues to ignore the issue and not issue a refund. On Twitter, multiple people in Philadelphia have experienced the same issue and LYFT HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT IT. Avoid Lyft at all costs until this criminal driver is caught and the passengers affected are refunded.
I have contacted Lyft multiple times through multiple platforms with multiple requests for a follow-up and received no response.
They charged me a damage fee without even ask my side of the story. A driver reported a re existing damage in his car and I was charged $100. I was never asked about the damage and was just sent a email saying they we were charging my card on file. Once I tried to dispute the charge, the customer service department was vague about the situation and eventually started ignoring my emails. Terrible company. Please use Uber and save yourself the headache.
Yesterday 3/19/2020 I requested a Lyft from my normal destination to Brooklyn. I normally pay $45 -50 roughly. For some reason the price I paid was $65.58 which was extremely high compared to the prices I normally pay. I contacted Lyft and was told this price was normal which is not compared to prices I normally pay. Watch out they are price gauging during this crisis.
App showed quote about $33 plus change. Quote disappears from app upon acceptance, never to be retrieved again. Making it a "Lyft said, rider said" with the rider locked out of the information.
Upon arrival, price was $38.97 ($39).
My last same destination ride 12 days ago was $32.62 which was actually one mile longer (driver's choice routes)
This driver said "call Lyft and they will fix it".
No phone number available, only text. They insist they recalculated and $38.97 is correct!
They won't acknowledge they get your ride by committing a lie with a false quote and not honored.
Deliberate fraud! If you choose Lyft, be to s sure to make screen shots of the original quote before clicking OK!
It may help cancel the bank transaction!
Parminder - Driving a black van/SUV. Their driver took off driving with my 6 yo still standing to sit, I had to yell for him to finally stop! Then when we got to del taco, he was instructed to wait as it was a round trip, instead he took off. I called and told him to bring my seat back, then he yelled at me on the phone saying nonsense like "my life is more important than your son's". When the company called me back, they said he would be in trouble, and they would get my stolen carseat back, then this morning it seems the opposite, and still no car seat. They said they are trying to have him drop it off to the police station, then they charged me $15 for him "finding" it lmao they are soooooo dumb. I am just going to have to go to the cops about it, thanks lyft for hiring such dangerous drivers! Some are good, yet when they are bad, they are horribly bad.
The driver never picked me up from Walmart. But accepted the ride and drove close by my home to appear as if he did. It took the money off my card although I never got in his card. And when I called to confront the drive for what he had done he hung up the phone on me. I called the company and they have yet to give me a refund or do anything to the driver for leaving me stranded but taking my money. Below is the guy picture
I left my phone in Lyft 3 weeks ago. I have filed "Lost Item" a few times.
Lyft can't even get the driver to respond.
Their respond was "the drivers are independent contractors and don't have to answer to us". I was like are you for real?
They drive under you freaking name. So you don't have absolute clue who are they then. That's scary.
The app itself has too many Hang-Ups and glitches. 50% of the time I have to cycle power on my phone to restart the app to register on the drop pin I haven't made it to the destination requested. I lose a lot of time trying to get the app to function correctly, also it is embarrassing and annoying when I have to explain do the passenger every single time what am I doing when I cycle power. Also cancellation fees are not handled appropriately there are too many no call no shows and I don't get compensated correctly when people cancel. Also there was a attempt in robbery when I was waiting for a passenger, my situation as far as making sure I was okay with poorly handled. I made a police report and no effort by lift was made to reach out and ask if I need psychological help. The only question I ever got was a rider with you and is your car okay? I can see that all Lyft cares about is anything and everything except the driver as a driver's perspective I will be going with Uber have a nice day Lyft.
Where do I start? First, more times than not. The driver is always across the street or down the road. Everywhere but where Im waiting. It's not my service I live in a big city near main criss streets second I've never used luxury service through lyft but yet get charged or somehow charged it. I find as many miscellaneous charges as real charges. Mainly though you can never reach a real person. I've sent many emails only to get ignored. So if I had it to do over I would never ever use lyft again. Whoever these people are. They are crooks. I'm not even sure it's anything more than computerized. Like I said no one has proven different. #stayaway$
They cam not come to pick you up from the airport you have to cross the bridge they should of told me that before they hold my money I am deleting there app after they refund my money never agaim
I am so outraged at the so called customer service that is provided through Lyft. I was a frequent Rider and used Lyft 5 days a week. Just recently I had a Lyft pick me up like usual at work to take me home which I have done so many times before without any problems well this time was so different after getting dropped off at home without any issues and I was satisfied until I got an email stating I was being charged for damages. The driver had claimed I puked in her car which is not at all what happened charging me $100. I contacted Lyft customer service to resolve the issue. Now if I had actually done what was said I would have paid the fee without no problems but this is not what happened and she ended up getting away scamming me Lyft claims they have damage investigators that do their job and since she had a picture of the said puke apparently that was good enough for them and they are still trying to charge me $100 for something I did not do I will no longer be taking their services home I would rather use Uber then use a lyft
Ever again. It is sad to say that they do not care about customer service at all I am not some Joe schmo out there trying to scam them out of money I was just trying to get home I hope others learn from this and do not use Lyft because they don't care about the people that they are taking home
Drove for Lyft for 1 yr have a 5 star rating got 1 ticket on my own time going to a football game and got deactivated never denied a ride to anyone you can never get ahold of anyone there not to mention they take almost have of what the costomer pays thinking the driver is getting it
I was sent in my personal email a coupon for 50% off first t rides and LYFT refuses to honor coupon. I have sent over 5 emails and they claim the most I can receive is $10 off first ride. The hook you in and then deny what they promised.
I was sent in my personal email a coupon for 50% off first t rides and LYFT refuses to honor coupon. I have sent over 5 emails and they claim the most I can receive is $10 off first ride. They hook you in and then deny what they promised. I attached a screenshot of what I received yet they repeatedly tell me it doesn't say 50% off first 5 rides and YES I never used them before, therefore, I am eligible for 50%. Terrible Service!
The folks that are supposed to be providing customer service are worthless at best! I asked for help in identifying the city a hacker was fraudulently using my debit card numbers to pay for high dollar Lyft rides. They gave me no help, and provided me with no information whatsoever! Seems to me they accept debit card numbers without the actual card, and they don't seem to bother to verify if the card numbers are being used fraudulently. They accept payment from criminals useing stolen debit card numbers! They did me like that, and they haven't helped me one bit by providing me any information to what city the hacker was using my stolen debit card numbers to pay for Lyft rides. Their customer service folks at the help desk are surely a worthless bunch!
I wish there was a no star option! Lyft's customer service is without a doubt THE WORST. After spending nearly $200 in rides on one day while on vacation, I woke up the following day to an additional $100 "damage" charge. I inquired about the issue and was told that a driver claimed I ruined one of their weather mats. I claimed that it was untrue and they responded that they protect their drivers and if the driver said it, then it's true. I asked for proof of this damage and they sent me a picture of what appeared to be small area with water, soda or a sticky substance on it. After going back and forth and realizing they didn't give a crap about the customer and what I was saying, I stated that $100 seemed pretty steep for one weather mat. You can buy a pack of 4 new weather mats on amazon for $25! They claimed they did not care and that they would not remove the charge and my account would be suspended until it was paid. Two days later my card had been charged for $100. I emailed them back and said I did not authorize the charge and they said it's up to them to determine the value of the damage and that amount will not be refunded. I responded that I would be deleting my account and they replied with an automated message saying my case had been closed and they would not look into my claims any further. I promptly deleted my account and will never use Lyft again! I have never experienced such a careless disregard for customer service. There was no investigation, there was no hearing me out, there was no sympathy or negotiation. Trust me when I say DO NOT USE LYFT. It is not worth it. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. All they care about is making a buck even if means charging a customer who did nothing wrong, has a clean rider record and has always tipped well. SAVE YOURSELF FROM THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY. Download Uber. Take a taxi. Rent a car. Don't let yourself be the next customer they take advantage of.
I sent my mom, a senior, a Lyft today. The driver insisted on putting her groceries in the trunk. She complained to him as the trunk and car smelled strongly of gas. He told her it was fine, and insisted. Then, when he dropped her off, he told her not to go to the trunk and he would take the groceries for her.
Once she was in the door, she realized one of her bags of groceries was missing. My mom is a low income senior, so every penny really matters.
Lyft has done nothing! And in fact, told me they would charge me an additional $15 dollars to have the bag brought back to me. That money would go to the driver who was awful to my mother and whose car reeked of gas.
After waiting about 30 hours to hear back, I was told the driver denied having her groceries, and they could do nothing further for me. Horrible treatment by driver, loss of groceries, 30 hours of inquiry with little to no follow up. Horrible service. Horrible policies.
I am a driver and I referred my daughter to become a driver. She is a 5 star driver who just made gold and all of a sudden had her account deactivated due to one customer complaint of her running a stoplight. No one can tell her where this occurred or on what day. She has been a driver since October of last year with no issues. She is receiving two different emails from two people. One says no problem we have to ask and the other just keeps sending the deactivated email. She actually preferred driving for them over Uber. Now uber is her life line. This is insane.
Lfyt refuse to give me back my refund after I cancel after literally 2 mins. I've called four times to reconcile the issues. They say it was refunded... oh really!? I have notifications set up with my bank. I didnt receive no notifications. So sad I've been using lfyt for 3 years and spend at least 15 dollars a month. But I'm done they can keep that money... I'm going with uber which is a better company set up. Check the reviews and stats
Dont use lyft this coming from a driver of 3 years in HOUSTON. If the driver has lack of sleep from working 20 hrs driving lyft and uber to make somewhat of a living they high off drugs or drunk so how or you getting a safe ride home on a fri night. The driver in no better shape to drive then you or. Start doing a drug test lets see 29k drivers drop to bout 9k drivers. Lyft gave me the chance to drive and i still am after never seeing me or knowing who i really am. Little do they know im what the app say but im really not and more then half the drivers doing same thing. All you have to do is send in a dl with any pic once they start your account and they NEVER check it. Facts im here to bring the hole house down only because the lack of pay for the drivers out here
Answer: They randomly out of the blue deactivated my account. This was there explanation. We found your account to be violating our Terms of Service and you will no longer be able to use the Lyft platform. I can honestly I have not violated anything so clearly there is something wrong with there information but the worst thing is they dont even tell you what the problem is. Oh well guess take my business to uber instead.
Answer: Lft runs different promotions and depending on promotion they promise a signup bonus(500-1100$). Now if they really pay the bonus it's totally up to their discretion.in my case they didn't pay. I completed the 60 Rides required in the first 30 days, which was the requirment to qualify for the bonus but they still didn't pay. After a brief email exchange with a lyft employee(they do not give their position or full name) they stopped answering. Now I am filing a complain with BBB and I will let you know where it goes when I have updates.
Answer: Lyft's customer service is terrible. If they won't correct it, file a dispute with your credit card company.
