Lensabl has garnered a reputation for providing high-quality lenses and a convenient service for replacing lenses in existing frames, with many customers expressing satisfaction with the product quality and the speed of delivery. However, concerns have been raised regarding customer service responsiveness, particularly during issue resolution, as well as occasional discrepancies in prescription accuracy. While many customers appreciate the transparency and communication throughout the process, there are notable frustrations related to the handling of returns and remakes. Overall, Lensabl is viewed positively, though improvements in customer support could enhance the overall experience.

I spent over 2 months with Lensabl trying to get set of prescription lenses made for a pair of sunglass frames I provided. After 2 attempts, they still could not get it right. I then contacted the local eyeglass shop that had previously made a set of prescription sunglass lenses for me in order to obtain all of the specs, and provided these to Lensabl to duplicate. Lensabl said they would need to remake the lenses again - a third time - at an additional cost of over $300, putting my total expenditure with them at almost $650. For this cost I could have had my local eyeglass shop make the lenses correctly the first time, saved money and it would not have taken 2 months of hassle. I contacted the owner of Lensabl directly and suggested they refund half of the $300 I had already paid, and I would eat the rest and chalk it up to a bad decision on my part. NO GO, he says. And offers to refund me $100 of the $317 I paid for a set of unusable glasses. So, I'm out $217 and no sunglasses.
Avoid these guys at all cost. A local eyeglass shop will give you personal attention and make sure your glasses work the first time, and for less money. Lensabl is a rip-off company.
First order was damaged in production, so they arrived about a week late. When they did arrive, the pupillary distance had been improperly calculated, so I had to go to take the measurement myself with a vernier caliper and send the glasses back to them. Another 10 business days later, the glasses are correct and work fine. Communication was good and responses were fast.
Hey Sid - glad to hear the final lenses are working well for you and we do apologize for the initial delay. As Rx lenses are custom made, there are manufacturing defects from time to time but we aim to fix them as quickly as possible and make your experience as painless as possible. Thanks again!
I had what I thought was an unusual order: Like most people, I wanted new lenses for a set of frames I had, but I wanted Progressive lenses with no correction at the top and a +1.50 reader at the bottom. Oh, and they had to be gradient sunglass lenses. Lensabl came through with flying colors! I'm ordering more lenses for my other frames today!
Great job, Lensabl!
Appreciate the kind words Bud! Thanks for being a great customer :)
I purchased lens for 2 frames from Lensabl and am super happy. I refuse to pay $200/lens at my eye doctor. Prices are so much fairer here and they seem to get all the correct measurements to make sure the progressive change is in the right place. One pair is transitions and they are perfect too. Things couldn't have gone better for me. I will be back!
So glad to hear this Lynda! Thanks for being a great customer and we look forward to you coming back again soon :)
I bought the ultra thin lenses with the coating that was supposed to prevent glare and reflections. When I received my glasses, the lenses were thin, but because I had anti-reflective / anti-glare coating in the past I could see right away after putting the glasses on that the coating was either not there or highly inadequate. I contacted their "support," and was told the coating was there. They asked me to send a picture, which I did (the picture showed how you could not even see my eyes because of the glare/reflection). They wrote back to tell me that is how they are supposed to look because the glare is being reflected away! That is, of course, absolute nonsense. I wrote back and got yet another person who said there was nothing wrong with the lenses, and there would be no refund of any amount, but I could send them back to have them looked at (why do that if there isn't going to be a refund? And what do I use in the meantime?). If you say "white," Lensabl support will say "black." It was a frustrating, awful experience, and I have glasses that my eyes cannot even be seen through the lenses the reflection is so bad. I would have been better off going to my regular optician and just paying the extra $100 to get quality lenses and coating that enables my eyes to be seen. What an expensive lesson! Spend a little more, and get glasses done right! Quality coatings and lenses make a HUGE difference. There is no number to call, so you have to email them and then wait (and wait) for a response.
It took 14 business days for you to finish my glasses I get them, I can't see a thing out of them! WTF?
I took the glasses to my optometrist they verified that the company had made these lenses to the wrong metrics. The company, by email, has stated they will replace these with corrected lenses. I will update as promised for the finality of the same.
The step by step process to register my prescription and measurements. Receiving the return package for my frames, was great. In a week my glasses were finished and on the way back to me. Awesome!
So glad we could help and thanks for the kind words Mark!
I have five pairs of eyeglasses (including two sunglasses) with the same prescription, including the one I just received from Lensabl, and this is the best. I don't know what it is but I am more comfortable and I can see better with these sunglasses - from the moment I put it on. Maybe it is the quality of the lenses or maybe it is the picture that they ask you to upload to show where your eyes are relative to the glasses - no one asked for this before. It doesn't matter, I am very happy with my sunglasses and I hope this company is around for a long time. Thank you.
So glad to hear that Don and thank you for the kind words! We aim to be as precise as possible with measuring and only sell the highest quality lenses to our customers :)
A great quality lens and coupled with a coupon code, the best price. I was able to get some extras because the price was so good. The customer service is unbeatable. I had a small issue and they were right on it, and advising me every step of the way. I thank the entire staff at Lensabl. Job Well Done.
I decided to give them a try. I ordered script sunglasses. The glasses that arrived were great, but not sunglasses. They promptly emailed me a postage paid address label. I sent them back and just received the sunglasses I had ordered.
Very pleased with their customer service.
I have worked with Lensabl several times and am always satisfied! Megan in CS took care of my needs better than expected! Will do business with them many times moving forward.
Hi Mike - thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are so glad to hear about your great experience with Megan and Lensabl!
I thought this business model was a great idea, especially in light of the monopoly that one company has over eye-wear in the USA. But this was a lousy experience with Lensabl. The glasses were for bifocals, and as soon as I put them on I saw that the bifocal lines were not in line. One lens was mounted so that the bifocal line was quite visibly higher than the other. It was so high that it interfered with my normal, non-reading vision. I called and they sent a postpaid return box - so far so good. But now it has been over 15 days and I have not received the corrected product. Would not recommend.
Hi Steven - Getting the segment height on bi-foclas and progressive lenses can be a challenge for any optical company. While it takes time to complete the redo, we promise to get this right for you. I hope you will come back and let us know how the final product turns out.
I received a discount coupon in the mail for Lensabl - a company that was new to me. I had a new prescription and I had ordered one pair of new glasses at my vision center, but I actually needed two pair. I decided to try Lensabl so I sent in my gently used old frames with my new prescription. I received my new glasses in about two weeks and I could not be more pleased. The cost was less than 1/2 of what I had paid at the vision center and it saved me the cost of new frames. I actually think my vision is crisper' in the Lensabl glasses than the ones from my vision center. Thank you Lensabl. Great product!
Hi Joan, We are so glad to hear about your experience! When you're ready for more lenses, you know where to find us :)
I had a delicate antique silver fold-up lorgnette that I (nervously) sent in for new lenses - they did a perfect job.
Admittedly, it took two rounds. I had asked for a magnification that was too high - and they took my instructions without alerting me to the fact that the lenses would be too thick for the mechanism to work properly (the frames fold up when you're not using them, and unfold at the touch of a button). I complained - and they sprang into action to correct the situation. They had me send back the frames and figured out what magnification WOULD work, made sure that was okay with me, then completed the job beautifully. I am truly delighted with the result.
Hi Janet - we love hearing this. Mistakes happen sometimes, and we are glad you gave us the opportunity to fix it for you. We hope you are loving your "new" antique frames, and appreciate your business.
Wow. What a service. What a product. Just absolutely impressed in every way. From the craftsmanship to the customer support, this company has earned my business and I will most certainly be coming back for more.
Happy to hear that you are lovin' your new lenses! We look forward to making more lenses for you :)
I loved my glasses I got a year ago. My prescription changed a month ago and I did not want to get new glasses. I found Lensabl and WOW how easy was that! So happy to have found this company!
Thank you
We are so happy you found us too!
The lenses I ordered, marketed as one of their thinnest offerings, are apparently too thin for the frames I provided. No one at the company ever flagged this after receiving my prescription OR my frames. Instead production went on as scheduled and they shipped my glasses back with frames bulging out the front and back, distorting the corners of my vision. The only resolution the company had offered is for me to either repurchase thinner lenses and have them try again (with no refund on the original) or to send them back for polishing for an additional cost. Meanwhile everyone I've spoken to has tried to blame me for "not understanding" what I ordered rather than admitting the company created a situation where they can make money regardless of whether the product is made to any standards.
On top of that, they've deleted my review from their website and deleted my Instagram comments. Companies that censor legitimate customer concerns do not deserve our money.
Edit: not only did they delete my comments, but when I commented again asking what happened to the original, they blocked me.
Yardley, we are sorry your experience with Lensabl didn't meet your expectations. Our lab does not make cosmetic determinations on lens in frames, as each customer has different needs - they will only flag an order if the material selected is not appropriate for the Rx. As a result, if we make an order that is done correctly, and is the lens material a customer selected, we cannot redo them free. If we make a mistake on the Rx or material we will always fix it at our expense.
I had a mess with my prescription which I had to get a 2nd opinion. Megan promptly resolved it to me via chat right before my glasses were about to go in. She also helped refunded me my prism add-on which I ended up not needing. Awesome customer support from Lensabl, I will be coming back again! Thank you
Hi Mek - We think Megan is awesome too! Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. :)
Your patience and support were wonderful. After dealing with LensCrafters who wanted me to buy the same frames (nothing wrong) with my frames. Then telling me it would be better for the discount, I spent 1/2 and am so impressed with the price, process and turn around time. Thank you again.
So glad you love your new Lensabl lenses Christine!
I ordered some glasses. Sent in the prescription, glasses arrived. COould not see clearly out of them. Put them aside. Waited a day and wore them again. Vision no better. Contacted them, was told by Rudy that I had submitted a contact lens prescription--my error. He sent me a return postage thingie and I sent the incorrect glasses back along with the CORRECT SPECTACLES prescription. In about 1 and 1/2 weeks, the new ones were sent to me and I can see quite well with them. Great customer service. Very pleased with these lenses.
Hi Cheryl - we are so glad we could help you with your glasses. We are even happier you can see well now! :)
Answer: I was not so lucky and have had a horrible experience withLensabl. After two months I'm still waiting for progressive lenses that cost over $600 and Neither my frames nor the lenses I ordered are back to me. Next time I will use a local eyewear store.
Answer: They falsely boosted about putting new lenses in existing frames (in a very short turn around like a week) not the 8 months it's been
Answer: Once your frames arrive at our lab, assuming you've provided all required Rx information, lens production is 4-7 business days on average before shipping
Answer: I purchased some really awesome vintage glasses with octagonal black plastic frames made in France, probably from the late 1960s or early 1970s. I was so excited to have them made into sunglasses. I took them to my local optical shop and was told, "I hope you didn't spend much on these because you wasted your money. No one will touch frames this old, because the plastic is so brittle it will just shatter." I was so disappointed. I tossed them in a drawer and forgot about them for a few months. Then I saw an ad for Lensabl online. I contacted them and asked if they could work with vintage frames, and the answer was "No problem!" I was nervous to send the frames in but figured I didn't have anything to lose. I just received the glasses back in the mail today (two weeks from when I mailed them in), and they are incredible! The frames were cleaned and straightened, and the new lenses are perfect. I love them so much. Thanks, Lensabl!
Answer: They clearly don't have the infrastructure set up to be in this business where each frame is a customer order. In cases like they they are not staffed with customer services that can be actually helpful which only result in wrongly made glasses. They broke my glasses and are not trying to it at all. I posted review on here before and then it just disappeared for some reason, I'm not sure if they are paying people to get rid of negative reviews.
Answer: Transitions take an upwards of 30 seconds to Transition. The weather conditions can impact the Transition time. Brighter and warmer outside conditions= transitions faster.
Answer: I am having the same experience. Took my money, lost my frames and have done nothing on refund nor damages. I filed with BBB as well. Why are they still in business is a surprise to me?How many more consumers do they need to harm before they are fined and/or shut down?
Answer: All prices are in USD ($) but we do ship to Canada as well :)
Answer: Yes all of our lenses are guaranteed or we will re-make them if any issues once you receive them back. Thanks!
We're sorry you didn't have a good experience using our service. We will always remake lenses at our expense if the error is on our part. We are unfortunately unable to offer a refund in situations where the order is made correctly, but the information provided was wrong.
