I love the website... especially for the free shipping after your first purchase. But, be weary that that does not apply for 'big ticket items'. You'll see free shipping and additional shipping in your cart with no explanation. As a customer, I don't appreciate this surprise, but I understand that its probably a cost from the supplier.
I've loved anything I've ever bought at Joss & Main and the shipping always used to be free. My gorgeous $35.95 wreath that I just purchase said "free shipping" on the itemization page, but then when it came to checkout, it said "pay $9.95 shipping today and get free shipping for a month." This appears to be a change in policy that is disappointing. I used to love that great products at greatly reduced prices were a hallmark of Joss & Main along with free shipping, but now there seems to be a revision of that feature. Too bad. I'll have to tread carefully when using them in the future.
I am disabled (and poor) and you always seem to have the right thing for every occasion, and always at the right price! Birthday, anniversary, odd occasions, and even the odd bit for me. I'm so glad I clicked on your ad, and now I'm hooked. Service and shipping are
Prompt and the things I've bought have been exactly as pictured. Thanks, Joss and Main!
I have no other means of shopping for quality merchandise, and you have saved the day.
I spent a good amount on a love seat, then close to another $100 on tax and shipping. And I waited a month or so for it to arrive. It looks nice but is utterly uncomfortable, partly because the seat isn't quite deep enough, and also because it feels like it is stuffed with something stiff, unmoving and hard. After a few months something has loosened up and it's not the loveseat cushion itself, but is rather the bit where I usually sit. That has become kind of a valley while the rest remains hard and stiff. It is obvious that they are making money hand over fist with these pieces of furniture. In all I spent about $900 for a piece of junk wrapped in pretty pink linen. I should have realized when I found it weighed very, very little that it was full of nothing.
I had a great shopping experience, and the only problem I had was checking out. I didn't understand that I would automatically be accepting the offer for $9.95 Shipping and Handling for 30 days. I wanted to add it to my order, and didn't find where I would accept it, until I saw it was added for me. That was not problematic, just confusion on my part.
Thank you for offering your shoppers such great values!

This is a general Joss and Main review. I've shipped on this site for a couple of years now. I've bought quite a few items from them and have experienced that many of the items have "flaws" or appear to be "seconds." From a large ginger jar with a finial that was askew, to prints that were crooked in the frames, and furniture with cracks and other issues. I did contact Customer Service and received partial refunds on these items. However, it would be tedious, not to mention expensive, to return things like furniture. I also have found that the shipping may take several weeks. I guess it depends on where the items are shipped from. Some of the prices are very inflated, and even the "deep discounts" aren't really discounts at all. While I have found nice things and are overall pleased, I would just advise people to be cautious. I just wonder where some of these items come from and if in fact many are "seconds."
I purchased eight dining chairs on the Joss & Main web site and received an email confirmation stating that the order was successful. Three days later, I received an email that the order had been cancelled due to incorrect pricing. While nearly all dining chairs on the company's site are heavily discounted, the company drastically increased the price on the chairs I ordered to $409.90 a pair... and two days later increased the price to $560 a pair. After seeing similar numerous complaints similar to mine, it seems that J&M uses false web site pricing and bait and switch tactics to deceive consumers. I highly recommend not buying from this company... it does not deserve your trust... or your money!
I purchased 2 pendants for my kitchen for $130 each. When I went back a week later they were priced at $185.00. I had to order the 3rd light because they would not honor the price I originally paid. I will NEVER order anything again. A small light fixture should never cost $50 more in 7 days. SomeThing stinks!
$41.82 for return shipping for 2 sets of curtains? And no information on your return address for me to pay return shipping on my own? Yea- no thank you! What a sleezy way to get people to choose store credit instead. You may be keeping my money this time, but you are losing my money for every purchase in the future.
Thye used to be a good site for the average buyer. It now looks like they're catering to decorators who can afford to pay higher prices. I shop at Home Goods and get some of the same items for much less. How disappointing the site is now
I would have like to have sent this item as a gift, with a message to the recipient. That was not an option, as far as I could tell. Also, when it says that the color of the item may vary from what is seen online, does that mean a completely different color, or a variation in shade? Wish that was more clear.
Placed order on 2/6, expected delivery date of 2/17. By 2/20 order wasn't even processed. Submitted customer service request. No answer. Called on 2/21, was told they would have the warehouse email me the next day with an update. 2/24 no update, so I live chat with customer service. Now they say "yea your order was lost" we can resubmit your order. So I ask, if you resubmit when is the fastest it could be here. They quoted me that the soonest they could get it to me is 3/22 … a month and a half after I placed my original order.
So I ask, if you can't get me my order more than a month after the date you originally quoted (2/17) what does your company do to compensate for me not having furniture that I need for over a month after they said I'd receive it by?
Their response was that it had only been one week (because the quoted delivery date was 2/17 and the current date was 2/24 which makes no sense since I still wouldn't be getting my furniture till 3/22 at the earliest) and there was nothing that they would do to rectify the situation.
Awful customer service. I have no furniture still. And they were just like "sorry we're not sorry". So don't order from them, or their parent company Wayfair if you have any need for furniture to arrive in a timely manner.
I am trying to return 5 damaged products that were shipped to me last week. I called customer service yesterday and today and was on hold for a total of 9 hours. I finally had to hang up. I'm very frustrated that I can't even set up a return online. There are no options requesting a full refund with no replacement wanted. I don't want a replacement, I just want to send these products back to you (with you providing me shipping label) and a full refund.
The couch is suitable for a more traditional living room. Concurrently it is not too bulky and fits nicely with antique and semi antique chairs. I'll take a picture of the couch and its surrounding and if you think it suitable, would be willing to share it on either Facebook or Twitter.
I cancel my order for 4 chairs, I received confirmation of cancellation. They charged my credit card but said they'll refund me... and they never did... I called many times and they never returned my calls
I am a new customer, but just ordered my 3rd item from Joss and Main. So far, I have had nothing but a good experience with them. Right after I ordered the first item, I had a question for their Customer Service. Within an hour, I received a reply in my e-mail. The second item was a beautiful cabinet that is much nicer in person than it looks in the picture. They seem to have good quality merchandise at a great price and a variety of items you just don't see anywhere else. And I love that the shipping charge is good for a whole month!
I purchased a set of 3 mirrors for 57.00. It had been there for days at the price. I paid for it and started to receive the items on the large purchase I made. Almost 10 days later I get an email saying the price had been marked incorrectly and they cant fulfill my order. So, my issue is that you send me the item I paid for. You incorrectly priced the merchandise. That is not my fault and should honor those who paid for it. You should not tell the customer almost 2 weeks after,,, oops. That is not how most stores and businesses work. You correct it after and then make sure the new customers pay that amount. Not the ones who already paid for their merchandise. Very upset and will let everyone know. Not happy with Joss and Main.
I have ordered from them 9 times now and although most of the small stuff I ordered was decent the three large items ( larache arm chair-tan linen upholstered chair with square back and pillow with nail head details and wheeled front legs, the regency chest in black- Bombay looking chest of three drawers, and the Brinkley desk in walnut- desk with pull out shelf and tilt back cover hiding two drawers) have been low quality for the price. Specially the chest of drawers. The chairs are okay but pretty poor quality too. I have seen the same stuff at homegoods for less so I will just check there for large pieces. I will probably continue to purchase small items but with thorough research.
Do not- I repeat, DO NOT! Order from Joss and Main. The items purchased are of very, very poor quality. Thankfully, I only spent about $200 to learn a valuable lesson. I will only shop for home decor items in person from now on.
I just have the best time looking at all the things you offer. I just bought the cutest red table clock and can't wait to get it. Keep up the good work so I can keep on shopping. So thanks for being there. Patty
Answer: Everything that I have ordered so far has been excellent. One time, the item just didn't quite look great in my bedroom. I returned it no questions asked for a full credit. Nether even paid the postage. I could have returned it for a full refund but I would had to pay the postage. In any event, very flexible on returns, which, as I say, has only happened once.
Answer: I don't know if they accept Pay Pal but their merchandise is over priced. I will not be ordering with them again because of lousy customer service!
Answer: Hello Helen, I'very never ordered furniture from J&M but any other item I've ordered has been in stock, shipped within a day and has been rec'd without any issues. I do love Joss & Main.
Answer: Hello - I always wash any fabric product before using - but I use my "gentle" cycle and only cold water without any soap. This always works for me and keeps the fabric in good shape without any chemical products still there.
Answer: I would copy and paste the name and model number of this particular sofa in a search engine and a shop bot like Nextag or Bizrate. This may find some reviews on other sites and sometimes even a better price or return option.
Answer: I'm not employed at Joss & Main, so someone at Joss and Main should be able to help with the answer on shipments to Canada. I don't see why not. Joss and Main is in Boston, right? I'm from the SouthEast.
Answer: You get what you pay for with Joss and Main. Google the details like the measurements and comments about the fabric because they often rename their items. I have been mostly happy with my items because I have reasonable expectations regarding quality. I don't expect to get something for nothing. Personally, I wouldn't buy a couch unless I could sit in it first but that's just me. Joss and Main is good with damage claims and they are responsive but you need to be careful about what you buy.
Joss & Main has a rating of 2.8 stars from 1,338 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Joss & Main most frequently mention customer service, credit card and delivery date. Joss & Main ranks 7th among Furniture sites.
