I ordered a black hoodie from JCPenny in XL. It arrived with a security tag firmly attached. I called JCPenny and they agreed to send a new one in white since they were out of black, and the nearest Penny's is 2 hours away. They said to get rid of the black one which I did. What arrived in a package with an enclosed label and a label on the clear plastic bag that both said XL white hoodie. The clear bag was torn at the bottom, inside was a size Small plain white t-shirt. I called and they said to donate the t-shirt to charity and they would refund my money since I told them I have no one in the family it would fit. I don't think they believed me but pacified me with the refund. I told my family we should never order from JCPenny online again after this double bad experience with online ordering. Which is sad because JCPenny has always been my husbands favorite store. My husband and I argued about it because he grew up loving JCPenny and has always loved JCPenny. JCPenny abandoned our growing, thriving city and now this.
I buy all my jewelry from the Bridgeport wv Jcpenny I absolutely love their products I have a woman that is very sweet and she is usually always there when i get my jewelry or take it in to get them cleaned love Jcpenny
They might be and if their employees don't improve their customer service skills, they'll be the next on the lay off line. If you want to have a job, keep your employer in business and treat customers with the respect they deserve; we are the source for your food clothing, car, house mtg.; treat us like we matter that much. Customers are loyal to their stores, JCP, has been one of my favorite places to shop anywhere in the US, but if I'm treated like i'm not needed, then i will shop elsewhere as there few people who are glutons for disrespect. With so much competition, even one less loyal shopper means the difference whether there will lay offs for store employees. Don't take for granted there will be another store. For every store you take your bad skills, more lay offs are sure to follow. A loyal customer who is treated like a valued, repected customer, will easily pay more rather than be insulted for a bargain. I was charged twice for rhe same dishwasher, and its been same nightmare continued from before Christmas.
I have been a loyal customer for about 6 years. I pay my cc off every single year. In the beginning, a cc limit of $1200. Than a couple years ago they lower my credit limit after I paid it off as usual, to $300. So, I didnt shop with them for a while. I recently decided to give them another shot. Im shopping online and go to check out with an error of "not all items in bag qualify." Ok, i get. Now im spending time trying to review and delete items from my shopping bag which i have no problem doing with numerous stores online other than JCP. They quote this experience is a breeze. Ha! So online help comes on and I tell her my issue. She askes me if I have signed in, which I answer with, I will try again but A breeze, my $#*!. She tells me that they dont tolerate the word "$#*!" and ends the convo. I have been trying to check out for several days with the same error messages. I had 18 items in my bag. Guess what. I will be payimg this cc off and they will no longer have my business. Have a blessed day and your service is the worst! May want to work on that if you want to stay in business.
Jc Penny always has great deal plus coupons and reward that I love taking advantage of. Love shopping at JC Penny for my children and myself and also whenever I have to give a gift to a love one.
The handicap men's restroom at the JCP@ Meadowbrook mall in Bridgeport, WV seems to have personnel who can't install toilet paper correctly; keep feces from the floor and walls, making sure the toilet seat is attached properly.
Shipping is too expensive, $5 item cost me $8.95 to ship... a single tshirt... You literally have 10 minutes after an order to cancel it, or you cannot cancel, and you have to call them on the phone within that 10 minutes and make it through automated crap in time to cancel... their customer service is evasive, rude, and poor, Their website super sux... even if you refine your search to same day piuckup, k your still presented with items not available for same day pickup... These jerks charge you a fee to have something shipped to the store for pickup! Even if they already have it in stock, you order online, theyre charging you that ship to store fee! Finding something free same day pickup even after refining your search to such, is a waste of time... nothing that comes up is available for same day pickup... The shipping is super slow for how expensive it is... often more than the cost of the items being shipped... Wat too many other retailers have free pick up at store, even if it ships to store, the shipping is free and so is the pickup... anything I want is on Amazon, and they are 500 times better in every way than this dump dying company! Hurry up and throw the towel in JCpenny! You treat customers terribly and charge them every step of the way... go out of business scumbags.

I placed an order at Sephora in my local JCPenney store for a CoverFX Contour kit since they didn't have it in stock and I had a merchandise credit from a previous return. I gave the sales clerk my ID with my correct address and she entered it INCORRECTLY. I realized this as soon as I received the order confirmation. I called JCPenney to update my address but was told that they weren't able to assist me, I had to wait until it was shipped and to call UPS to update my address. UPS informed me that Sephora wouldn't allow the address to be updated. So I called JCPenney back to have the package returned and my money refunded. It's been over a MONTH of back and forth frustrating phone calls between Sephora and JCPenney and I still don't have my money back and/or the contour kit I ordered. I will NEVER set foot in JCPenney ever again and if I purchase from Sephora going forward it will be from them directly. HORRIBLE customer service!
I ordered two dresses and a cardigan sweater from JC Penny. It took over 4 weeks to receive the dresses and they were not as described on their website. I decided to return them but could not find a return document. I called and they said it was on the outside of the package and that I could just peel it off. NOT. I ended up typing up the return information myself, packaging it and sending it back through UPS. We will see what happens - i. E., will I get my credit back to American Express. I'll write another review in 4 weeks -- when and if I receive it. The cardigan did not come with the dresses even though I ordered it at the same time. I called to cancel and they told me it was too late as it was on the way. I received it today -- and OMG -- I just couldn't believe it. It was balled up and put in a plastic bag. Obviously, it had been a return and rather than refolding it properly and relabeling it -- again -- they just 'balled' it up and stuck it in a plastic bag. There was no invoice in the envelope that it was sent in. I checked the outside of the package (as I was told before this was where to find the return information) -- but to no avail. There was NO return information. Also, this cardigan is so cheaply made that when you pick it up you can see your hand through it. EEE GADS -- so awful. I am not returning the sweater -- too much of a hassle and it would probably cost me more than it is worth. I will donate to the thrift store. I will never - never order another thing through JC Penny. Good luck if you do.
About once every 4-5 years I go to JC Penny to buy gold toe socks and levis jeans. Last week was that time. My total bill was over $300. The clerk asked if I wanted to save 1/3rd on my purchase by applying for a credit card. I told him I think I already have an account. The short of it is i applied for the credit card as long as they send me a bill in the mail. He did ask me if I wanted to put the purchase on the penny's card. I said yes. I received the credit card yesterday without a bill included. THE APR IS 27.99%. I Was finally able to log on to set up my login after several tries. And there was my new account and my old account. The only way to pay off my account is by providing my bank account information. That is it no other options. Never going to happen for me. So I called customer service to get a mailing address to pay my bill. The Penny's credit card is serviced by Synchrony Bank in Orlando, Florida. Their rating on BBB site is extremely low. I am not sure the JCPenny card is not just a Synchrony card with JC Penny printed on the front with JC Penny receiving a percentage of the 27.99% APR without the overhead of managing the credit card.
JCP was always my choice to order clothing on line. No matter where we lived, they would ship it to me.
My shipping got to me on time and quality of clothes was worth it! Will buy again in store and online!
A little hard to navigate and find what it is you are looking for, but they sure do have a lot of stuff! Over all it was pretty good
If your company leaves, I would not have any comfortable environment to stock clothing and I would be Very Sad! I like to walk around the Woman's Clothing Section!
I cannot believe I just wasted two hours of my self-quarantined time trying to buy shoes for my daughter and myself at JCPenny.com. First, please have your people learn to update your prices online. Why should I be misled by the prices you have posted? I click on the pictures on your website expecting to pay the price listed with that particular picture only to find out I was the idiot who trusted that JC Penny would have some integrity and list the price, picture and link it to the product you are displaying. After making the mistake of wasting my self-quarantined time to visit JC Penny's website hoping to find a better deal than what I saw on Famous Footwear's website, I called their customer service only to be treated like this was my problem and JC Penny can't do anything to honor what they display. Thank God there are other retail stores that want to take all the money I want to spend. I now know that JC Penny doesn't need or want my money based on the way their Customer Care agent and supervisor dismissed my issue as if they don't care and have better things to do than to encourage me to shop with JC Penny instead of Amazon, Famous Footwear, Just Fab, Shoe Dazzle or any other website to buy my shoes. I think that was the mistake I made on April 6,2020, from 6 PM CST to 7:25 PM CST. I thought I was on one of the other websites that take care of their customers and want my money. I am so glad I took screenshots so I can report this company that once valued its employees to the FTC for false advertising and bait-and-switch marketing.
I've been a JC Penney customer for 30 years; I used to love their stores, merchandise and customer service, but that's all gone.
I ordered some products on line; the products are poor quality and the return policy does not specify that the customer has to pay for shipping if they return anything. With a lot of store closed, it's inconvenient to make a trip to return items due to the distance. They fail to understand that their only hope to survive is to improve their on-line presence and this is not the way to do it. Good bye, JC Penney, never again!
JCPenny.com sent wrong order. Said I had to return to store. Buy again, and wait 10-14 days for refund.
Ive been shopping at JCPenney since I was a young girl and I will most likely Always shop here. Always Ggod quality items and some of the Best deals...
I recently purchased a refrigerator online for my mother for Christmas. I was given options asking if i would like to have an icemaker installation. (Yes, as this was very important in the refrigerator that we were to choose). Then an option for a 6ft or (maybe 10ft. Not sure because i purchased the 6). Icemaker line. Upon delivery, the guy asks if we have our icemaker kit?. UUMM... What? That is what i believed i bought? To have a icemaker installed? But no, he says this happens often. Where was the option to buy a icemaker kit on the site that asked if i wanted these other 2 things? Why was it not clear? So i had gotten free delivery since my purchase was so much but then my mother had to pay a $69.99 service charge to have them come back out to install the icemaker. I also tried writing JCpenney directly on there customer service site and after typing it twice, got a reply of I'm sorry. Our message system is currently unavailable. Please try your message again later. Grrrr... Not happy Also, the guy delivering it says the will level the fridge if it needs it when they come back to install icemaker... Which was 15 days later... And it definitely needed it! (we ended up spending an additional $170 to get icemaker done)
Answer: I believe that there is a policy related to coupons. The clerk did look up your. Credit card. If you had been shopping at a grocery without your coupon it would have been the same. It is nice that at times they have made an exception for you which was good customer service on their part. Perhaps you had a new clerk that was still training or very busy. You should not blame the store for one instance with one employee. You also should not expect special treatment just because someone has bent the rules in the past.
Answer: No. A waste of your money. The original warranty will suffice.
