Home Depot's reputation is marked by a mix of positive and negative customer experiences. Many customers appreciate the wide selection of products and the knowledgeable staff, which contribute to a convenient shopping experience. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to installation issues, return policies, and delayed deliveries. Customers frequently report dissatisfaction with the handling of complaints and a perceived lack of support, leading to frustration and a sense of being undervalued. Overall, while the company offers a robust product range, its customer service approach appears inconsistent, impacting overall satisfaction.

I have to tell you I am done with Home Depot on East Valley Parkway in Escondido, Ca. We returned a ceiling fan we ordered online thinking it was t that great. So after going to the store and looking at the not do good selection we decided to stick with the fan we returned. We went and ask to buy it back and oh my gosh 45 minutes later and at least 5 people trying to figure it out, they told me I couldn't purchase it back because it had to be discounted and sent to their warehouse to then be returned to their store. Not sure what you think about this but I'm thinking they lost a 200.00 sale because of other items in our basket. Then these big stores wonder why they go out of business. I figured out for 10 minutes at one point they were looking for the fan, I finally said, are u looking for the fan. Yes they were. It was in the counter in front of them. No one seems to care about their job it customer service. All is well we drove to Lowes. Bye bye Home Depot!
Complete runaround trying to get a refund for the installation of a dishwasher that never happened. Told to call a different number each time we called the given number. Took a long time to finally get an appropriate response. Seemed to be disorganized and unhelpful. We finally did get a refund, but after spending so much time trying to do so we should have been rewarded with a gift card for the time spent trying to get it sorted.
Sorting by price does not work. Searching for 1x6 gives 1x3,1x4,1x6, etc. Wood species pull down says "Trim Boards" instead of maple, pine, poplar, etc. Dimensions are often incomplete. Who programs this stuff, monkeys?
Went to the Home Depot on Washington Blvd. In Lansdowne today. I asked an employee in the plumbing aisle a question about a plumbing part I wanted to purchase. He asked me very matter-of-factly, "What do you think I am, a plumber?" The next time I need to visit a hardware store, I'll try Lowes. Maybe they will have someone in their plumbing aisle a little more knowledgeable about their merchandise.
Its web ad on Luxor Folding Bed. All hoax no merchandise.
It should get Zero overall rating. The delivery times also
Always missed.
Your employee named Gareth in the plumbing department was a big help in finding what I needed for a home project. He was very patient and informed as to what I needed and I really appreciated his advice and assistance.
Recently remodeled my bathroom. Ordered a new shower door and a new vanity from The Home Depot. The vanity arrived with a tiny imperfection. They offered to get me a new one or give me a big discount on the original. I took the discount and I can't even see the little dent. In addition to that, they gave me the same discount on the shower door and a new toilet. That's what I call good customer service.
I ordered supplies for a screen deck to be delivered. Told them when I needed the delivery. I took vac to build deck & hired carpenter. On day of delivery they never came & never called. I called & they said it would be delivered a week later. Delivery came, was missing finished steps & 12 ft metal sheets for roof. I called, they said they would be finished next week & that I had to pick them up. I don't own a truck, that is why I paid for delivery. Worst customer service ever. This was in Forest Lake, Mn.
I've had a terrible experience during my first visit at Home Depot located in Matthews, North Carolina. I had already bought a twin mattress from a store, and was looking to buy a nice bed frame. I was recommended from friends and family to go to Home Depot, which was the worst mistake I've made so far. We ordered the bed frame and built it twice. Following that we went to the store to check about a screw because it turns out that a few were missing. Unfortunately, the screws weren't available. Following that, I decided to enquire about the top wooden piece of the bed frame. After a few minutes at customer service it turned out that they delivered it incomplete, and it would take another 2 weeks to deliver. So I had to un-do the entire bed frame and return it, making it the third time to assemble the bed.
I wish I could rate it 0! We ordered kitchen cabinets on Jul 7. According to the website, they were all in stock. We were supposed to receive them by Aug 3 and did not. I called Home Depot and was told they would ship the following week and for the next two weeks with countless calls, I kept being told the following week. On Aug 17, I called again and they said they would be shipped on the 21st or 22nd and we would receive them by Sept 5 or 6. I got totally fed up with all the lies and went out and bought cabinets somewhere else and was going to cancel the order when I got home. I checked my email when I got home and there it was from Home Depot " your order has shipped". Are you kidding me? I immediately called and cancelled the order which was just charged to my credit card and was told to call back on Tuesday to remind them to cancel the order after they checked the tracking update. They are so screwed up with their website, misinformed by their vendor and the best goes on! Needless to say NEVER AGAIN!

I was in Home Depot in Freeport about a week ago. I was looking for a certain ceramic drill bit. After 30 minutes of not seeing any Orange aprons, that's what their help wears I called the corporate number from the store. While waiting for the store manager, I saw this fellow by the name of John with an apron. I asked him where I might find the aisle I was in the ceramic bit.He shrugged his hands as if to say he has no idea. He walked back three aisles and saw the person that worked in the tool department. He pointed that I should walk to that aisle and find that particular person. Unfortunately having problems walking I couldn't do that and when I tried to tell him that, he walked right by me as if I did not even exist. I told the manager she said she will take care of it however I doubt it happened! I also called the corporate office and lodged a complaint about the store leaving my name and phone number, and no one even had the decency to call and find out what was going on. I now shop at Lowe's and they don't know what to do for you next. If a product is in the aisle they actually walk you directly to the product and help you until you put the item in your cart ready to go to the cashier. They are a little further from me then Home Depot but well worth it regardless of price. I will probably wind up using Lowes to redo my entire kitchen and put down hardwood floors and goodbye to Home Depot. I already have the contractor who I deal with no longer buys from Home Depot and he lives in Freeport. Lowes it is! Try it and see the difference! There's a saying what a difference a day makes, Now my saying is what a difference a store makes. Good luck Home Depot!
HomeDepot has terrible customer service; it is like trying to pull teeth to find anyone to help you when you have a question or need assistance. Additionally, they do not willing stand behind what they sell. Lastly, if you attempt to obtain assistance through their customer care, everything is automated; there is no option to actually talk to a human being. If you call Home Depot Corporate, you can take to a person, but they have no commitment to resolve your issue. Worthless!
Fast and friendly service, we'll stocked. I always buy my bedding plants from here, and they are always very healthy and do well
Gone are the days when you could find a retired electrician, carpenter or plumber working at Home Depot. The employees are inexperienced, almost impossible to find except for the cashiers, and you have to wander the isles looking for items. Extremely overpriced for electronic items, even the ones on clearance that are missing parts. Never scheduled a delivery, so no comment on that. An abundance of twine is usually located outside the store to tie down your trunk lid for large items.
I'm a very high contractor that make lots of business at Home Depot specially the one at Springfield Av in Newark NJ.
I being doing this for over 10 years, unfortunately this about to change because I have bad experience in this Newark Home Depot. The issue is one of the workers that always work on the forklift keep harassing my wife and not just her. This guy follows every single woman that show up in the store I saw this guy how he follow and look every lady including my wife.
I think this is very disrespectful and unprofessional.
Where are the managers nobody control that or say nothing to this guy. This guy name is Erick and he always in forklift pulling big orders for costumers. I wish someone finally take care of this situation because I did know that Home Depot allow employees to mess with customers and have no sense of manners or respect.
HomeDepot is a fantastic on line site, No shipping if it is sent to your local store. The locate process if your home town Home Depot doesn't have it is just an on line click away.
Went to buy a few items on the Home Depot website for Halloween. When I got to the checkout they were 50% more expensive then they were listed for. Apparently they were in the process of 'adjusting' some of their prices. If I hadn't been paying attention I would have paid the outrageous markup. Sloppy at best. Dishonest at worst.
I placed a 2800 order for delivery. They flaked twice for delivery from the store. Both were no call no shows. They told me it would cost $90.00 more if I wanted the delivery that week. I was sent poorly packaged and damaged goods from their distribution center. I spent over seven hours on the phone trying to get my money back. This is the most pathetic Home Depot I have encountered. I would not even recommend it to someone I do not like.
They are now calling me to change my reviews but they wont refund me for the items they did not deliver. They are stating that they did make the delivery.

Answer: Hi Betty, you can also return without receipt if you purchased using your credit card. Give them the same CC and they can tell the price you bought at.
