Awful experience

Ordered 6 skeins of yarn online. Received 3 a box of fabric which was not mine. Returned the box to my local store. Cashier was so nice but manager was rude and no help at all. Wanted me to take back the box and send it back. I'm old and handicapped and it was quite an effort to get the box to the store. I'm so sorry the manager said she would throw it away so whoever was waiting on that order had no chance to receive it. Called customer service to report my missing yarn and hung up after waiting 35 minutes

Poor Quality Service

I am planning my wedding & using this store a lot! If I had time I would travel else where to spend my money! This place has the WORST Online and in store assistance. It took me 3 days to place and online order. I have called locations and waited 20 min or more for no in store response. They employees won't help & can't answer any questions. You literally have to drive to every location bc they can't provide any assistance or in store ordering. Or bother answering the phones during working hours. I signed up for membership, they typed email in wayyyyyy wrong and now all of that info goes to some unknown location and they can't fix it. Then I type in the monthly codes and NOPE none of the coupons can be found in the system. I am excited the decor is almost done, bc I will not shop this place ever again! Thank you for making this experience as painful as possible for my finance and I!

We purchased a Christmas tree from them after Christmas in December of 2024. We assumed it would be as expected so being after the holidays we did not open and put up...we opened the end of November in this past year / 2024 and it was not what we wanted or expected. It is new and we paid $192.00 for it, which is a lot on a fixed income. We contacted Michaels many times before they got back to us...said will not return, sorry 60 days to return or it's yours! No exceptions. This really stinks. So beware of ANYTHING you purchase from this company and learn from what they did to us...

Unfortunately this location in Hartsdale, NY leaves much to be desired. Limited assortment of items, not well organized and lack of staff to assist with questions. Seem to be hiring more seniors which is great, but need ones with less attitude. I tried to ask a question after inquiring if the person worked there, and was stared down with a look of total distain and dissatisfaction. I was compelled to ask if I was annoying or bothering him, which he did not deny. Totally unacceptable way to treat a customer with a very simple question. Few days later had to go back to the store for a return and the manager was called over. I believe it was the same person….my luck! Once again, the same displeased look and absolutely no customer service abilities. Probably won't go there again unless desperate. Too bad there is no Hobby Lobby near here. Far superior in all ways. Great inventory, staff and terrific return policy if needed.
See far too many poor reviews. Time for Michaels to step up their customer service care!

I went to Michael's and was told I could not use my bank card as credit. Cashier said it was a new policy. I cannot remember bank card codes. So Michael's just lost a customer and crafter. Virtually every store let's you use your bank card as credit and without a code. Your will lose alot of older customers because of this policy. Unfortunate I will be one of them.

Pay twice

I went to michaels to buy 8 bags of filler for pillows.I spent $60.00 and after I checked myself out I needed a bag so,I asked for a bag and was told it was 99 cents. Are you kidding me?
I spent money in your store and have 8 bags of filler and you want me to carry them out which I did and dropped them on the ground.
I'll never go there again.
I'm so angry 😡 they'll nickel and dime you to death.

Recently ordered from their site 8 tubes of a very hard to find pigment as it is no longer made. To be precise it was Quinacrodone Nickel Azo Gold by the Golden Paints. I was so pleased to find this prized color only to be sent Azo Gold, a different color. So far, out of 8 tubes, I find out today the order was cut to 6 tubes of this color as they have some supply issues. Mind you I don't even want this color as it is not what I ordered or what was advertised. And here is the kicker, I was notified by Pay Pal that I am going to recieve a whopping 11.60. On Michaels site they say for the 2 tubes I am to recieve a credit of $40.52 Guess what I will be doing with my spare time. I am disappointed with being deceived about the paint and now gotta deal with a refund issue to boot. I hope this gets easier because all of it is going back to Michaels and I expect nothing less than a full refund.

Isn't worth it

Bead and craft junkies are at an all time high. I myself am into making jewelry and am still fairly new at it. So I shop for less expensive beads because, lets face it... Prices are outrageous for anything these days.
When I find a place that gives back to my loyalty, and gives perks for all the money I spend, ( and I spend A LOT), Its rare and such a relief sometimes.
But when I shop at Michaels, besides the occasional coupon, I save almost nothing at this store and they barely have sales that give me any kind of noticable relief. For the amount of money I spend in a week, it's a disappointment. Hobby lobby and Joanns are the way to go for this type of materials.

No resolutions!

I've called 4 to 5 times about this. I'm unable to place an order. They claim it's because if my payment method. I changed it 5x, even used PayPal. They say they are unable to place the order for me.

I have a custom order to complete before Tuesday and now ill have to run to almost 7 stores to see if i can gather what i need a none of the stores have what i need at 1.

REALLY poor customer service and communication skills. Absolutely zero resolutions or attempts to resolve.

Ill be looking into other craft stores and companies online now.

Not giving a zero, since it's technical, but still very disappointing.

I love Michael's. The employees were great, but I wish they had more adult ceramics to paint. And more stuff to paint for adults. How about getting I don't know fantasy ceramics that we can paint for adults I would love if they were more stuff that they would carry things to paint for adults

I called Michael's to have an 11x14 photograph, that I printed, mounted on foam core. I have a frame. The manager in framing had no idea of the cost. I had to explain to her over and over what I wanted. I finally hung up. I'll do it myself or take it to a framer who knows framing.

Bait and Switch

Ordered a Wilton mini cupcake pan on Amazon and the box came today from Michaels and contained a cheaper pan from a brand named Celebrate It. I started a return on Amazon and hope I get a refund in less than the 30 days that Michaels website states is the normal refund time.
Crap store selling crap knock offs and thinking the consumer won't notice.

Zero stars

Sent me the wrong item, the item sent costs about $100 less. The box was full of trash literally right from the trash can (i made sure i took pictures). They never sent the correct item after emailing them for over a week and not getting a response i called to find out they never shipped the correct item. 2 weeks and nothing. I'm going to return the item to the Michaels store that sent and make sure they get their trash back and I'll buy the item somewhere else. I'll never be back to Michaels and I'll be sure to pay this review on every web site i find.

Long since gone are the days of customer service and friendly human contact. I went to my local Michael's store in Webster NY and proceeded to get the many supplies I needed and some that I didn't. I had a full cart of well over 150.00 worth of merchandise and proceeded to the cashier. There was one employee who asked if I was paying by card or cash. I asked does it matter which she replied if you're paying by card you can use our new self checkouts. I asked what if I'm paying by cash? She said than it will be a min while I get another employee to watch me cash you out. I asked oh are you in training she said no its just policy because it's cash. I asked what if I don't want to use the self check out. After all I don't work here and I never use them I think they are extremely unpersonable. She said those were my only 2 choices. I then said so let me get this straight. If I use a card I will have to check myself out where you will then watch me to make sure I'm scanning everything in my cart. But if I pay cash then not only do I get you to do your job but I also get another employee to watch you do your job because they don't trust you. The girl just said yeah basically. I was shocked. I know a lot of stores have become very lacking with human interaction with their customers. However I feel if I don't want human interaction then I can order stuff online. However, if I have take my time to go to a store,obtain merchandise and then pay for it than I should at least have the option of having an actual person who is getting paid cash me out. If I'm going to check my items out and bag them than at least I should be getting an employee discount. I'm tired of big corporations cutting jobs, and human interaction with their customers all to save a buck. Pretty soon it will be the customers coming to empty the delivery trucks and restocking the shelves. Needless to say I left my cart full of items and walked out of the store and went to Hobby Lobby where they don't have self checkouts and I wont be returning to Micheals. By the way 2 other women followed me out who were standing in line and ended up going over to Hobby Lobby too.

Poor customer service

Customer service really needs an adjustment...came in and wanted yarn. It was in a sale rack when it came up at register it was full price. I said it was in a rack with sale price. Several colors same price. Instead of calling someone to verify my price she says want it or not? She was so rude. I said not for the original price. The person I was with asked whats up, getting my other items...the cashier she says under her breath...
Not my problem. Oh man. I am not a person to make big deal in public but that was wrong!

Michaels is saying my order came from a 3rd party. Never received and they won't make things right. NEVER ORDER ONLINE. BEWARE OF THE 3RD PARTIES THEY USE!

Rupal Desai, Bloomingdale Michael's, 1-6-2024: First, Rupal was extremely helping with helping me find the best knitting and crochet products! She took much time in locating several products. She was leaving the department, but quickly turned around when I asked for more help. When checking out, Rupal spent MUCH time in helping me use the Michael's app. I did not know anything about it. Her education about the app, time, and kindness were unbelievable! Thank you Rupal for caring for GREAT SERVICE, and caring about me!
