This store is wonderful but also overwhelming because there is just so much. I've purchased a lot here, mostly from the actual store itself, not the website. The best is when you can find deals or coupons on certain items you are looking for. I've gotten some cool frames when these deals were going on - like 50% off. It's awesome.
I used to love Michaels. I have spent over $1000. 00 shopping online these. I buy products monthly for my crafting business. They no longer ship ANYTHING I used to order. Everything I want, not only no longer ships to me, but my 3 local stores do not have these products in stock. I'm angry. I asked a chat person why, they did not know. I'm talking about over 50 items too. (Not just 1) I will have to buy my products somewhere else.
Just another online site with foreign, useless customer service. Nothing against foreigners; this is all on #*@&% Michaels. At the time I placed the order, on the order page, it said the item would be delivered in 5 days at most. Received an email from them saying "yay" my order had been shipped. BS. Only the label had been created. This is a new, prevalent scam with these online sellers. Creating a label triggers an email to the buyer that the item has shipped when, actually, the seller has only created a label and is sitting on the package. Nice. When I contacted the barely-English-speaking CS, I was told, twice, that it would take 9 days to ship. First chat person actually hung up on me. They refused to cancel order because it was "in the shipping process." 10 days later and I still don't have it. I won't buy from these lying scammers again. If you do, at the very least, I suggest you buy onsite and not online.
Online it said they had a certain item at their Torrance location, ready for pick up within 2 hours. I drove from Culver City to Torrance just to find out they don't have it, that their site 'estimates' their count, something that is not disclosed online, especially given it stated that the item was ready for pick up in two hours (other stores noted out of stock, hence why I drove to Torrance). They had the same item in a smaller quantity, but refused to make an exception to combine the smaller quantities and sell for the price of the larger quantity that they were out of after I drove over 15 miles. Waste of my time and gas. Seems to perhaps be some sort of switch and bate going on, as well. I'm not happy and won't be patronizing Michael's again.
Michaels marks up their merchandise at least 300% so do not buy something without a coupon if you can help it. The website has improved but it is still hard to search since it pulls up every like item even if it is not relevant so you may have to go thru many pages just to find what you are looking for. They do run a promotion pretty often that if you buy something online and pick up in the store you get 40% off your total online in store pickup purchase. The only draw back is if they have a item that is the same item but comes in different colors you cannot buy online and have to contact the store for availability. So you end up paying full price unless you have a coupon. I would use Michaels more if they lowered their prices and did away with their coupons. Also their loyalty program doesn't get you anything for the amount of money you spend other than some coupons.
Today morning I was at Burlington store. After waiting on the line for half an hour, big line up was made. The only cashier called and another one came. I broke my nail and it was bleeding and I asked for the band aid. She said we don't offer it. I complained about the line up and she rudely responded to me. One of the worst customer service I have ever had.
I ordered for the first time from Michaels. It sated it would arrive on a certain date, well it did not. I waited and waited the date kept pushing out. I contacted MIchael's and they stated all they can do is replace or refund. If i replaced it it would take an additional 4-6 days. WTH are you serious instead of them shipping it ASAP they did not accomodate. If anyone is going top order please be aware that the date of delivery is just a suggestion. So beware and don't trust.
I posted this review on there online store and they deleted it.
"Item is as described. Shipping took over 2 weeks. When I contacted customer service they lied about shipping time. There web page states 3 to 5 days delivery. Customer service tried to tell me it takes up to 15 days. I will never purchase anything from Michael's again."
What a rip off, pull up a 40% coupo on the phone, get to the register and they say it's not our product so we can't give you the discount. So it's in your store, what is it on consignment or what? Now I see a 55 and older coupon... same rules apply? HOBBY LOBBY doesn't pull those tricks.
I would like to say that I am an artist, but it's more accurate to say that I'm trying to be one. I actually think I find more joy in discovering awesome artistic tools than making anything with them! That being said, Michael's is my favorite store to seek these tools out. I'm especially fond of their clearance section, as I can typically find items for sale that I typically would not consider at their retail price. They have a really great selection, and the stores are very clean and organized. Also, they have great sales and offer some great coupons to help me save money (or more frequently, to help me buy more things!). I still do shop at other craft/hobby stores, but Michael's is the one I look forward to visit most.
Michaels is my go-to store for crafts. I had the privilege of meeting with cashier Eleanor (not sure if that is her name) on 4/28 around noon was she was the delight of my day --- she was helpful, professional, pleasant, answered questions and she had so many more positive attributes. It was a wonderful experience and greatly appreciated.
I received notification about 2 orders I never placed. I contacted customer service to discover my account had been hacked and my credit card information stolen. I was told the orders were cancelled after speaking with their fraud department. One day later I received notification that one of the fraudulent orders has been shipped. I continue my fight with Michels to keep my name clear. Shoppers beware! Michael's website is NOT secure!
They are so helpful! The cashier's go above and beyond to make sure you as the customer are satisfied.
I have shopped online as well as in the store and it has always been a wonderful and delightful experience.
The aisle are always neat and clean. The shelf's are always full of items. I'm so impressed by the hospitality. I will always shop and recommend you do too! You won't regret it! Professional company.
I signed up for a autumn cookie class on 8-6-18 at 8716 JW clay Blvd in Charlotte NC and it was cancelled unknown why. No one asked for a phone number when I signed up so I had to find out after the fact. There was a rain storm the same day of the class and the storm had cleared up by the time of the class at 6:30 pm. What was disappointing about this is when you plan anything you need to always have a back up plan for the person that is teaching the class in the event they cancel. You do not want to disappoint the customers. Of course I purchased the supplies from Michael's and had to get a refund. I wanted to learn how to decorate. Going forward It would help to be better prepared when you are offering something in store and online.
Micheal's used to have a decent selection of items but it has went really downhill in the past few years. The listed prices are outrageous, but there are ALWAYS 'coupons' available. But if something is always on sale, is it really? Unless you need something desperately for that birthday gift tomorrow, I suggest going to Amazon, $#*! Blick or just about anywhere else.
I purchased a 10 drawer rolling cart, the box was open, but the only other box in the color I wanted had a big hole in it! When I got it home, one of the drawers was broken! I returned it without problem, but I wonder if I was the first person to buy and return it and if they just put it back on the shelf after I left! I will not be buying boxed items there again!
The manager sucks. She rather have all her staff on the register instead of helping people on the floor. I have been waiting over a hour and still nothing. Spoke with the manager she shrugs and like oh well I need to help the people checking out. This is sad. I will never ever step a foot back in there. She was annoyed by me she wouldn't even look at me or let me use my rewards.I had to ask her. This is bad for business. Robin is the store manager and she made the statement that if I call it in she will be the one calling back so basically she said nothing will happen.
I have always purchased Halloween spooky town little houses it included the house and electric cord. These days while covid is present in these past two years prices have gone up! I remember paying on retail $50.00 it included the light power cord! Now they are $100.00! Without the cord. When I had ordered online missed the small print cord not included - sold separately. I called the customer service no help. I just told the guy forget it I'll go to store to purchase. After research ended up purchasing online nothing available at the store. I had to order cost $7.99 to $14.99 plus tax and shipping! I'm very disappointed why customer has to pay so much!
I own a handmade jewelry company. I have purchased a couple different gold plated, nickel free spools of chain. Each one has tarnished and turned black in less two weeks or it has broken apart with the slightest movement. This is UNACCEPTABLE. I am semi-experienced with metal and realize gold plating over copper or brass will tarnish faster. I also realize that different skin chemistries affect how fast gold plating may tarnish. But, one or two weeks?! I cannot sell any necklace made in good faith with this product. I am starting to question whether these items are even truly nickel free, as many of them start to smell awful as well.
I promise you that customers would be willing to pay a little extra for quality jewelry making supplies. Gold plating for gold filling (which lasts long) over sterling silver or quality 18k gold lasts longer and can be cleaned without disrupting the chemistry of the metal. Very disappointed.
I enjoy shopping at Michael's Crafts, however the sales associates who work there (this is a general statement by the way), do not have much knowledge of the products that are sold there, especially when it comes to jewelry. I hope this review gets out to Michael's that it would be nice to have sales associates more product knowledge than them knowing how to run the register.
Answer: Why can't you speak with a supervisor or team leader.Do they have any or are they just that busy.
Answer: I've found the prices at Michael's to be about the same as Joann's Fabrics, depending on what you get and how big of a selection you're looking for. Joann's obviously has a larger fabric selection, but the rest is about the same based on the stores in my city. Michael's has some very unique jewelry supplies, if you like to make jewelry. If I just need something pretty basic (paint, brushes, thread, jewelry chain, kids crafts, etc.), I go to whichever store is closest to the area I'll be in that day. If I'm working on jewelry, I check both stores because the selections are different and the prices are about equal. Hobby Lobby may have some better quality items, but you'll pay a lot more than what it's worth.
Answer: Not legit. Just try to get to the corporate office. Look at the reviews... not legit in any way.
