They have a nice large selection of standard quality construction and household materials and pretty good lumber. Even some of their generic items are pretty good. They also have some higher quality stuff available. The prices are usually not too bad either. Customer service is good, always someone available to help. Returns are quick and painless.
While shopping with my husband at HD. Checking out your asked. Do you want to sign up for a HD credit card, for a $25.00 credit today? Of course the hubby says, sure you do. I say no I don't. Back and forth a few times. Finally I get tired of arguing! Ok fine! Signed up for the credit card and checked out. A few months go by, and bam I get a bill in the mail from HD. Not only is there a late fee, there is a charge for the $25.00! I call them up, to honestly ask what's this bill for? The phone person says. "You missed a payment " How did I miss a payment when this is the first bill I received?! They tell me it's the second bill. Well, I never received the first bill. I ask can you take the charge off and I'll just pay it. No sorry! Ok fine rip me off and ruin my credit! I paid it just to get it out of the way. :(. A few months later, my sister was complaining of a credit card exact situation. I asked her, what credit card? She says "HOME DEPOT" never shop there!
Kerrie is the most helpful and pleasant employee that we have ever encountered anywhere. She went above and beyond.
We actually had a list for our project that
we where working on, she got us through entire list.
Purchased a clothes washer from home depot, they delivered it, set it up and when they where asked to move the old unit, they said "you didn't pay to have it moved!"
Was left in front of the new washer! WOW!
Went into the mansfield location needing to get some items to secure my home (locks) and draw handles. Rhonda readily assisted and left me feeling like I could install the draw handles by myself. She walked me through everything I needed to know. I bought the drill and handles, and everything looks amazing! Thank you Rhonda for being so awesome!
Got this rug today from home depot today. Got it home, unwrapped it and it was totally different from the photo on the package, it also is the wrong color and has a big spot of gray like a big ink stain. I should have known. Be aware of this place.
I needed to order a gift for my husband, something not carried in the store. I was able to get it from the warehouse, and have it delivered to the store for pick-up. My daughter picked it up, they were so pleasant, and it was amazing how this can be done. I thought all stores carried their products, but no, they have a catalog to choose from. What a pleasant purchase from Home Depot.
Bought a dishwasher, we were told we would receive instructions for delivery. We listened and we trusted what we were told! What a game this entire company plays! The worst! We sent the product back unopened because they were 2 hours late!
I have shopped extensively at both Lowe's and Home Depot for many years. Home Depot does not screen their employees very well. I had people renovating my house go to both places to buy building materials several times when I was out of town on business. I gave both places my credit card information over the phone. At Home Depot, they stole my credit card information and made unauthorized purchases. It never happened at Lowe's. I met several people in my personal life who worked at Home Depot and that just confirmed for me that Home Depot does not screen their employees well at all. I have to buy appliances soon, and I'll go to Lowe's because I don't trust the employees at Home Depot with my personal information such as my address.
I went to the Oxon Hill store to get an 8 x 10 piece of wood cut and was told that they couldn't cut anything that's less than 12 inches, because it was a safety issue. If I were to go to Waldorf or Silver Spring or DC that they would do it for me. I asked why it's not a safety issue for them if it's one for you? Absolutely poor business practice. It just seemed an accuse not to provide service to me. Why be in our neighborhood if you can't give the kind of services we need? I would spend my money where i know I'm going to get the service I need.
I tried to order something over the phone and there was something wrong with my security number on back of my card. So we were ending the call. And my phone was still on and the operator must have thought I hung up. As she started to say rude things about me. When i said excuse me... she didnt know what to say. I asked to speak to a supervisor I got a big run around. So I ask to get the recording of out conversations... They told my the system was down... I called and emailed and it's been a month and nothing. That's how much we meant to Home Depot... At this point i believe Home Depot is an joke. And ill never shop there again...
Art and Rocco were very knowledgeable and helpful in getting the right hinge parts to repair my Andersen storm door. Andersen supplied the replacement parts free of charge. I was unaware of Andersen's great policy and was becoming frustrated trying to repair my door until the great and knowledgeable staff in the door section guided me in the right direction. So thank you Andersen and the Home Depot staff. The replacement parts are in, frustration is gone and the door closes again.
Ordered a fridge 2 months ago and has been posted delivery 6 times now. A week ago they were suppose to deliver... I heard a knocked and yelled from another room and level in my house for my boyfriend to go answer the door... welp they left and called the cops instead! So this week they were suppose to deliver it again. Got a call and told them I was ready 30 min before the delivery. About an hour later they still never showed up. I got a phone call saying they could reach me, knocked on the door and talked to my neighbors. THEY DID NONE OF THAT. My neighbors were not home, and what would they say anyways? Her car is home so it's likely she is home? Plus I told them I was ready for them when they called. I swear they NEVER SHOWED UP. The neighbor thing is bull$#*! and sounds like an excuse. Never order from homedepot.
Purchased 2 storm doors in March. Doors never opened right, sticking and large gap in door. Door was not installed properly, no screws in door jam to hold the door. Therefore all the problems. Home depot sent 2 different installers out, but the problems did not get fixed. Called again in march, and was assured that they had new installers, and they would be calling to set an appointment. I would think that since their competition is Lowe's and Menards, they would be concerned about losing business. Never buy from home depot again.
Ordered a toilet on Saturday, website states it will be at the store on Tuesday. It is Tuesday and email says I will receive on Sunday.
Chatted with representative and they will do nothing.
Checked the website today (Tuesday), if I order today and it says a toilet would be delivered on Thursday.
Given that the toilet I purchased on Saturday won't arrive until 8 days later, I don't see how they continue to say that a toilet will be delivered in 2 days.
To the individual complaining about not being able to receive 10% discount for product ordered on line.
It's easy. Take the receipt for your online purchase to customer service, present your ID and you will receive it your discount. I've done this on numerous occasions at HD and never had a problem. Your receipt is proof that you did not receive your discount.
We shop at Home Depot because there is nowhere else around our neighborhood (Highland Park, CA) with hardware, lumber and other building and home improvement and repair items. Things like nuts and bolts seem high priced (although the quality may be better, I wouldn't know) and usually only come in packages so if you need 25, say, you may have to buy 100. Whatever happened to the old-fashioned hardware store? The only competition is OSH and the store nearest us has discontinued most building supplies and is rather like a home boutique. So Home Depot it is.
Welcome to the new Home Depot in Weston!
The is a universal shortage of agents in the store. I waited in 2 different stores for more than 10 minutes for someone who was paged to come to the aisles where I was waiting. Turns out that they have cut back on agents. Then even if you get an agent, be prepared to have to listen to their inexperience. I asked the agent in Gardening for a different type of edging. She directed me to the same edging, but a longer length. I asked the agent for an automatic sprinkler. She told me that they did not have a sprinkler.
If you don't know the item that you want, don't expect anyone in the store to know.
My wife purchased a refrigerator and over the range microwave oven from Home Depot on 4/3/23. It's now 4/23/23 and we have not received our order. We called on 4/12/23,4/14/23, and 4/17/23. Each time we were told that they would perform a dock search and contact us in 24-48 hours. No one ever called. We called on 4/20/23 and were told that our items were lost and our delivery had been rescheduled for 4/28/23. I have zero confidence inHome Depot.
This review isn't really about Home Depot but the contractors that do their installations. I bought an appliance and paid to have it delivered and installed. Try 1 it was delivered but the people who delivered were not the installers. I called the Home Depot number they rescheduled the installation. Try 2 was called the day before with my four hour window no one showed no one called. I called the Home Depot number they tried the contractors - they had left for the weekend. Scheduled it for a third try. They final arrived - with a second appliance. I got it installed but other than wear a mask they didn't do any of the COVID mitigation strategies that are shown in the video on the web page. When I called customer "care" to discuss all of the problems the person was patronizing and dismissive then hung up on me. Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else.
Answer: Hi Betty, you can also return without receipt if you purchased using your credit card. Give them the same CC and they can tell the price you bought at.
