I got a quote for Abilify, 10mg for a little over $200 for 30 pills, when I printed the form it was close to $400, this place is a rip off. Don't waste your time.
I visited three different pharmacies in an effort to find one that would honor the "coupon price" on a basic generic sleeping medication, an effort that failed. The reasons varied... "it's only for people without insurance", "it's below our cost" and simply, "We can't sell it for that". The explanation from a GoodRX representative was that it's a controlled substance and pharmacies can decline to honor coupons at their discretion. It was pointed out that the website doesn't disclose that information for this medication and the subsequent explanation was that in almost all cases for this medication (Zolpidem) a coupon is honored so they don't alert the consumer. This certainly was not my experience. I asked the GoodRX rep if she could just tell me one pharmacy that would sell it to me at the advertised price. Her response was to say she couldn't but I was welcome to keep trying at the various pharmacies the site directed me to.
If you have time and energy to visit multiple locations and argue with pharmacy personnel AND GoodRx personnel than GoodRX is for you. Perhaps like the auto advertisements there was one at that price but someone got there before me.
Hi there - thanks for the feedback. It is true that pharmacies don't always accept controlled substances and they have the right not to... however, 99% of the time, pharmacies will accept them, and that is why we provide them. We warn people on every page where we provide coupons that the possibility of rejection does exist. We apologize for any inconvenience you've had.
GoodRx is a ploy that pharmacies use to get you in the door to shop at their store
The pharmacies DO NOT get compensated for the discounts, therefore, they do not like to use GoodRx... this is why 95% of the time GoodRx is not honored at most pharmacies
Hello Cheyenne--We partner with about 10-12 coupon providers. Each coupon provider works with the pharmacy's corporate office to negotiate contracted rates. We do not make the prices, we simply list them on our site for consumers to take advantage of. We recommend contacting your pharmacy's corporate office for any questions regarding pricing or processing. Our prices are generally very accurate and pharmacies are contractually obligated to accept our discounts under most circumstances. Our Advocacy Team would love to look into this for you! Please contact us at 888-799-2553 and we’ll investigate immediately.
Huh! They do not honor their advertised coupon price. My prescription price was double the coupon price and they said "oh we're sorry, the coupon for $225is just an estimate".
Lost my health insurance last month and saved $102 on Adderall XR 30mg caps at Walgreens using GoodRx. $75 is still worse than the $10 dollar copay before but it's much better than $177!
COUPON SCAM!
I went to Walmart with a GoodRX Nadolol 40mg coupon that I printed off their website. Walmart ran it through GoodRx and it was rejected.
DON'T use this site, it is a scam.
I think GoodRX only wants us to use their mail-order so they can profit.
Hi Julie - Apologies for your negative experience. First, we don't have a mail-order pharmacy; in fact, we don't even sell prescriptions. If you had an issue, we'd love to help - thousands of people use GoodRx every day to save. Please email help@goodrx.com.
The discount prices that are shown are NOT anywhere close to what the pharmacy will allow. One drug ADVIR was 423.00 & goodrx says it was 135.00 the actual price was 418.00 what a RIPOFF & A LYING GOOD RX THEY SHOULD CHANGE THEIR NAME TOO GOOD & RAW WITHOUT VASOLINE! THANKS FOR NOTHING!
Hi - Advair is around $135; if the pharmacist charged you more, they made a mistake and we can fix this situation for you. Please call us at (888) 799-2553 for assistance.
Trying to get a prescription filled at a Drug Chain mandated by my drug insurance carrier, I stumbled onto GoodRX and filled out a coupon from their website for my drug. I learned that this slip of paper might fill the prescription at a lower price than I could obtain with my insurance plan. But the drug chain would NOT fill it at anything but an inflated price--even with the insurance discount taken. I called the number on the coupon for GoodRX to step in and help.
A pleasant, intelligent, persistent woman--Michelle-- became my GoodRX helpmate. She phoned the pharmacist at the chain branch I was having trouble at and was insulted! She tried another branch store in another town 20 miles away and was told THAT I DID NOT EXIST (they could not verify my birth!). So Michelle phoned a third store, 20 miles in another direction. Success: They did not use my existing drug insurer, but filled it from the prescription copy the initial store had received--and filled it for me for 52% less than the price the first store had insisted was correct.
I'm writing this to praise both GoodRX and their super hard-working, persistent, problem-solver, Michelle.
Thank you both!

It was amazing for some of my family and friends. Huge savings on generics for Aricept, Metformin, Lisinopril, Atorvastatin. No discount on Combipatch which does not have a generic.
The absolute WORST!
Made an appt for acne. Explained my previous issues and advised what had worked in the past. After never even speaking to me to discuss or gain clarity, I was prescribed a milder version of what I advised I had taken before (antibiotic) along with the weakest version of a BP cleanser and acne gel. Neither are as effective as over the counter meds. I messaged the team complaining the meds were not working. At first I was advised to just use it longer which was a complete waste of time as my acne was too aggressive for the prescribed meds, I was offered another acne cream (after complaining twice). I agreed and then Jen in escalations completely ignored my reply. No one from that team ever responded back. That was Nov 5th, today is 12/6. Here are the names of all involved:
- Ashley Calta - Nurse Practioner
- Corrin M, Patient Support
- Jen; escalations team
- Rebecca Link - Nurse Practioner (initial prescriber of weak/ineffective meds).
Every single person above failed me. Miserably. From beginning to end. Please do not waste your time with this service.
We’re sorry to hear about the negative experience, Denise! You have been issued a full refund and a provider will follow-up with you shortly to discuss an alternative treatment plan. Please log in to your GoodRx Care account and check your messages
Like many people these days, I'm underinsured and struggling to pay for medication. My asthma medicine especially, generic Symbicort, often comes in at $200 or more even with coupons and discounts, for a one month supply.
The good Rx site said I could get this medicine for $36 at Jewel Osco. I had my doctor transfer my prescription and took the coupon over - and it was over $200. Trying my goodrx gold subscription didn't help.
GoodRx said my other medication, generic Patanase, would cost $38 at Walgreens. Again I had my doctor transfer the prescription and took the coupon there... and it came in at over $90. And again, my paid membership didn't help.
According to this article, good RX makes a profit from the pharmacies who accept their program. They made millions in 2018.

I don't appreciate them playing games with my health and wasting the time of myself, my doctors, and my pharmacists! There's a name for what they're doing. It's called Bait and Switch, and it's illegal.
Hello Julia! We are so sorry to hear about the trouble you experienced at Jewel Osco and Walgreens pharmacy. Please fill out this secure form if your prescription is on file at the pharmacy so that we can look into this for you immediately: https://bit.ly/3ltXMbx
Good RX is total crap, buy yourself toilet paper instead, you can put it to good use. Went to four different pharmacies with Gold Good RX Card (Sams, CVS, walgreen's and Walmart) and ALL of they gave me a hard time AND refused to take the card. I immediately called Good RX and canceled the card! Total waste of time and money!
Hi Jim - We'd be happy to help. GoodRx Gold is accepted at every pharmacy in our network, and we can fix problems. What are the odds you'll reach out again so we can make this right?
I first heard of www.goodrx.com from my Dr. when she told me I needed medication for pneumonia. I chose the Walmart closest to home, she printed out the discount coupon, and I went to the Walmart pharmacy for the first time. When I got there they told me that these coupons aren't all that great they don't work well, and they don't make much difference, blah, blah, blah... I told him we just printed this page out at my Dr's office within an hour. The pharmacist just argued and said," it doesn't make much difference., they're not good discounts,.". What happened there was my first visit to a Walmart pharmacy cost me 25% more than it should have, a call to the www.goodrx.com customer service, and another trip from the boonies back into town to clear this up. The customer service at wwwgoodrx.com seemed fine. They told me they have a contract with Walmart and that they are obligated to give the discount and will honor their discount program but I had to go back with my receipt and coupon page that my Dr. printed out for me. This is just another example of the many ways Walmart will take advantage of people and rip them off in every way that they can. I will not be back to their pharmacy for any reason. There are plenty of other more legitimate businesses around.
Hi Roger - sorry for the experience you had. As you indicated, Walmart is contractually obligated to honor our coupons, and we're happy to assist you if you're having issues. Please email help@goodrx.com for more information and assistance.
My local Walgreens coupon price on my iPhone App was $30.63.
I was charged $48. 67. 50% more
Neither the pharmacy not GoodRx could explain this.
Hi Steve! We’re so sorry you experienced trouble using our discounts at Walgreens. Our Advocacy Team would love to look into this for you immediately! Please give us a call at 888-799-2553 and we will get started.
We saved lots of money using GoodRx although we have a proscription insurance, using GoodRx was much cheaper.
We need a company like GoodRx in America.
Thank you GoodRx :): )
I went to Wallgreens, After I had a Lung Lobectomy, my insurance was stalling so I tried Goodrx. My 50.00 prescription, cost me 8.00. I could afford the 8.00.
Hi Ernest! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. So glad to here we were able to help you save.
Printed a coupon for Irbesartan 150mg. Shopko cash price $197/90 days. Coupon for Shopko was $15/90 days. Pharmacist said GoodRX not accepted at Shopko.
Hi there - we are accepted - the pharmacist is confused - we can help - please email help@goodrx.com?
Picked up a prescription that originally would of been $142 without insurance. Got the coupon stated correctly on the app for $6.92. No issues.
We like the sound of those savings, Ash! Glad we can help make it more affordable for you.
We save hundreds of dollars every month.
Example: "You have 1 prescription ready for $174.62"
GoodRX price 11.79, Seriously!
Thank you GoodRX
Those are some amazing savings Ken! We are so glad that are able to you and your wife, thank you.
This site is awful and took my money without doing anything. Someone texted me two days later and no one ever called
Hello Jay, if you suspect a possible fraud account, please just give us a call at 888-799-2553, and we'd be happy to look into this further for you. We're open Monday – Sunday, between the hours of 8 AM and 7 PM CT. To find the fraud account please note our Advocacy team will need some information; please have ready the last 4 digits of the card being charged, brand of card, the date of charges, the amount you were charged, and finally your billing zip code.
Answer: Yes we do. Just present coupon to save. Have a nice day
Answer: If you have any questions, we're here to help - please email help@goodrx.com and we'll get back quickly. Pharmacists have the discretion to honor or refuse controlled substance coupons, but most of them (like 99%) will take them, which is why we list them (and indicate that they may not be accepted). Hope that helps.
Answer: Hi Terry! You will need to present the coupon to the pharmacist, usually before, they fill a prescription. If you doctor's office is willing to do so for you then it may be okay, but we would suggest you present a new coupon each time you fill or refill. Sometimes our prices fluctuate and checking the coupons may get you a deeper discount. If you, or your doctor, presented a coupon and the pharmacist, for whatever reason, says the coupon cannot be used please give us a call at 1-888-799-2553, our Advocacy Team would love to assist you! Our hours are Monday-Sunday, between the hours of 8AM and 7PM CT.
Answer: Hi there - can we help you? Head to our help section for information on how we do business.
Answer: It takes very little time. Immediately after sign up you'll receive the information you need to purchase at our discounted rates.
Answer: Hi Shirley! We list coupons for Phentermine here: https://www.goodrx.com/phentermine Please be sure to update the script details and zip code to see prices for your area.
Answer: Please give our GoodRx support team a call at 888-799-2553, so they can contact the pharmacy regarding the price discrepancy, Steve. They're available Mon-Sun, from 6 AM to 9 PM CT.
Answer: GoodRx can be used in place of Medicaid as long as the two aren't combined. Please give us a call at 888-799-2553, so we can contact the pharmacy on your behalf. We're available Mon-Sun, from 6 AM to 9 PM CT.
Answer: Great question, Don! Since GoodRx compares prices at different pharmacies, there are sometimes lower prices with a GoodRx coupon. If you have a GoodRx Gold account, you are still able to use a GoodRx coupon if you find that it offers a better price for your prescription at a pharmacy in your area.
Answer: Hello there Anita, we're sorry for your frustrating experience at Walgreens. Please give us a call so we may investigate this and reach out to the pharmacy on your behalf. We can be reached at 888-799-2553, Monday through Sunday from 8am to 7pm CT.
GoodRx has a rating of 2.8 stars from 604 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with GoodRx most frequently mention customer service, coupon price and discount card. GoodRx ranks 1st among Pharmacy sites.
More than 3 million people use GoodRx to save on their prescriptions every month. In our experience, SiteJabber attracts the very, very few people who like to write negative reviews and, more importantly, these reviewers never respond when we attempt to help them resolve their issues (which we can!). So... we don't respond to comments here any more.
Please email info@goodrx.com if you'd like help. Thanks.
