This is the sh1ttiest telehealth someone could ever receive. I contact Goodrx care to get a simple refill for a topical clindamycin solution I use for my HS. IM ACTIVELY FLARING. I have already been diagnosed by a derm so I thought like any rational being would that I should just set up a consultation for prescription refill. I pad for the gold membership to get the 19.99 consult and waited for around 3 hours for a reply. After waiting all that time the nurse replied stating that they don't prescribe refills for antibiotics for HS which would only make sense if I was filling an ORAL prescription. MY REQUEST WAS FOR TOPICAL TREATMENT. I replied to the nurse and asked why. I asked or clarification hoping someone would work with me about how to best handle the situation. Instead I got ignored and was told to start general visit for consultation. I was assured by the phone rep. That I could get my fill through the general visit. I tried again on Saturday afternoon. So far now I've been charged twice for consult. I did not get reply from a nurse until 24 HOURS LATER asking me if I was told to start a consult under general visit instead of Acne treatment. HS IS LITERALLY CALLED ACNE IN VERSA and yet they cancelled my visit after I've already attempted for 36 hours to get a prescription fill. Even though I selected GENERAL VISIT, their system routed me to Acne consult and that's somehow my fault. I contacted good rx again and the rep told me she would escalate the issue to a doctor for a second look. I literally get a message from them restating that I should've done a general visit and to try again but choose a more "vague" symptom for the system to route me to right place. SYMPTOMS ARE VAGUE. That's what the f*xck a symptom is. Goodrx is hot fxcking garbage. How are you holding a customer responsible for the system YOU put in place and then keep suggesting that they get charged 3 times in a row when you could just HELP THEM. Or at least, instead of cancelling their visits after making them wait days for a reply, create a system where they can be routed to he correct place and receive treatment? It doesn't matter if the refund is coming back in 10-15 days. What if that's my last 60 dollars for the week? The complete negligence and lack of care Goodrx showed, I will never use them again. Absolutely fxcking disgusting and disrespectful. Just so y'all can get kickbacks for referrals. I hope you ROT.
I'm reading all of these negative reviews and to be honest, I'm surprised that these people have had so many negative experiences using GoodRx. I currently have health insurance. As with most insurance companies, it doesn't pay for all medications. My Doctor recently prescribed a new medication for me. My insurance did not cover it. It was $297.00! There was no way I could afford it. I was upset and told my Doctor I couldn't afford it and if there was another possible medication that she could prescribe. She told me she really thought this would help. She then recommended for me to use GoodRx to help pay for the medication. She said alot of her patients had praised the plan ad how it has saved them so much money. She asked me to please try it. I wasn't feeling very positive when I took my prescription back to the pharmacy. When I went back to pick up my medication, I asked if they accepted GoodRx and was told yes. I told her I had no card to use and how would I get the discounted price. Luckily, I had a very patient cashier as she showed me how to look up the medication on the GoodRx app. I almost cried when I saw that all I had to pay was $18.37! I didn't believe it and she said if I needed the medication on a monthly basis, that I could use GoodRx each month! Well, several months have passed and I have used GoodRx not just even on that one expensive medication, but, others as well, and I haven't had one medication denied! I've even saved additional money on prescriptions that my insurance DID cover! This has literally been a life saver for me! One suggestion I have for those having a bad experience when using the card, is to download the app and look up your particular medication. If you find it, give the pharmacy a quick call to verify their acceptance of the GoodRx. Then, you will avoid wasting your time and not to mention embarrassment of dealing with dealing with the cashier. Also, you don't need a physical card or printed coupon. You can just locate your medication on the GoodRx app and hand the cashier your phone and she can enter the coupon code and group number right from your screen and "bam"! That's it! Honestly, it's that easy. This has been my experience every time. I've even gotten my sis and a few friends using it. All love it. So, I'm hoping that everyone can have the same positive experiences as I have. I feel comfortable in recommending the use of this offer. It worked for me and continues to do so. I'm sure it can for you as well. We all need to save money. This really has helped me!
Download the GoodRx app. Look up the medication before going to the pharmacy. Then you will know exactly what you will be paying.
The GoodRx discount card for medical prescriptions.
Attempted to use a GoodRx coupon for a prescription at a local Walmart. The pharmacist refused to fill it as "they would lose money on it". I have serious doubts about any contractual agreements that may be in place. Judging by other reviews here, it looks as though this is a common occurrence for GoodRx. It would appear that either an entire corporate pharmacy or individual pharmacists can just say no to honoring the GoodRx price. This is a total fail of GoodRx's entire business model.
I called the "Advocacy team and spoke to both a representative as well as their supervisor. Get this - I would be required to have a prescription on file with the pharmacy in question in order to begin the resolution process! I have a paper prescription from my doctor so I could shop around and get the best price for the drug. I am NOT about to leave the prescription with a pharmacy that will charge me 18x the amount of the GoodRx price. And one more zinger - it would take 2 to 5 weeks to resolve an issue according to the GoodRx supervisor. Who has 2 to 5 weeks to fill a prescription for a prescribed medication? Absolutely nuts. I suggested that the GoodRx supervisor reach out to someone above his pay grade to resolve as their process is broken if they require a prescription on file with the pharmacy to resolve an issue. I have names and the phone number of the location where I had an issue. Why can't they enforce their so called contracts by reaching out to the company where there was an issue?
Summary - 1) Walmart pharmacist refused to fill my prescription at the GoodRx price.
2) GoodRx customer service (Advocacy Team) is unable to assist as I didn't drop off my prescription with the pharmacy. 3) The GoodRx resolution process is broken if they cannot resolve without a prescription on file with the offending pharmacy 4) I strongly believe that consumers will lose faith in the service GoodRx is providing if prescriptions cannot be filled at the agreed upon price. I know I have. 5) Are binding contracts really in place? Is GoodRx pricing just fraudulent promotion? 6) With loss of faith from customers in the process, GoodRx should realize that their entire business model is at risk. If I were a leader there, I would make sure that a member of my team hunted down every refusal and conducted root cause analysis to resolve and not have the issue repeated.
You know when you get a feeling that something is too good to be true?
That's GoodRx in a nutshell. I brought a blood pressure prescription for my elderly mother to WalMart that I had filled for her about 10 times. This time I brought in a GoodRx coupon and guess what? They don't accept them. Long story short I called GoodRx and got a song and dance TWICE when I got home.
The first time it was the old it's "up to the pharmacy or the pharmacist on duty. Call some other Walmarts by you and check their prices out with the GoodRx coupon", which actually NO pharmacy will do unless THEY have a prescription in hand because for a pharmacy to just "run" the GoodRx coupon costs them money. Like a fool I wasted my time and every one of them said new corporate policy as of August 2018, NO Walmart should accept them.
The kicker was I grew up with somebody who worked their way up at Walmart Corporate HQ in Bentonville. I called them and they said they had cut all ties to GoodRx as of 8/31/18.
I considered that to be the FINAL answer coming from Walmart Corporate but I figured what the heck, I just wasted a couple hours of my life so I ended up calling GoodRx back with the official Walmart HQ response.
What I got was a very snotty tone and was told the same scripted story from GoodRx, that it was up to the individual store or pharmacy. I said NO, here's the number and an extension to somebody at Walmart Corporate if you want to double check. I'm looking at your website right now and my cost with the Good Rx coupon will be four times the price of the price you have listed on your site RIGHT NOW.
"OK I'll pass that on to my supervisor, is there something else I can help you with today?" My friend who works at Walmart corporate said they stopped accepting GoodRx or any discounts for anything that's a controlled substance on 1/1/2018 and yet GoodRx has Walmart listed for a bunch of different controlled substance discounts. That didn't really apply to me, the prescription was for a non controlled BP med for my mother but even in their "response" they say "Walmart has changed their policies for ALL controlled substance prescriptions" and YET they still list discounted prices for them. My point is: Doesn't that just PROVE that Good Rx is the "incorrect" one and not the 103 people on here who gave them 1 star?
UPDATE: Reply to GoodRxs response which made me REALLY look into this company:
The moral is I'm not "in talks to be acquired for at least $1.5 billion" which isn't bad for a company valued at 300 million but they do have A LOT of personal medical information for marketers to buy and use.
I will say that GoodRx has saved me some money in the past BUT most pharmacies have the same info that is on the website but weren't allowed to use it because of some old federal law. That has recently changed and most pharmacies will give you the lowest price possible but not always, I have found this to be especially true at Walgreen's, they will usually come in way higher then say Costco, in some cases 10X as much. Don't even bother to use a discount at Walmart because you will be wasting your time. If you have a afternoon to waste then by all means bring to your GoodRx "discount" to all of the pharmacies they have listed on their website, you might save $3 and have your or your families very personal information sold. Your name, address, phone number, doctor, condition, prescriptions ALL go into a database run by a PBM (pharmacy benefit manager) who is the middle man between the manufacturer and drug store. What happens to that information is it gets sold. The PBMs are the one who set the prices for your drugs and most drug stores hate dealing with the ones that GoodRx has contracted with. If anything just watch the first link, it goes into pretty good detail on why your drug costs are so high to begin with and is a pharmacist. The other links confirm it and are mostly pharmacists.
Actually to counter GoodRxs response I talked to a pharmacist who pointed me to these links:

https://www.reddit.com/r/pharmacy/comments/65d5xk/good_rx/
https://www.ejovi.net/goodrx-make-money/
You will have copy and paste them but it explains how Good Rx actually works and the information is from mostly pharmacists and drug store owners. These are MUST READS and are very interesting. Basically being politely called a liar has upset me so what went from a basic "They aren't accepted at Walmart review" has become
"THEY SELL YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION REVIEW".
I have a serious problem with my families medical information being sold to third parties. I also find the fact that a review wasn't posted for a month and the SAME DAY I posted a negative one a glowing one about using GoodRx at Walmart was posted.
"Today we had a prescription filled at WalMart."
"We are committed to using GoodRx to check prices!"
That doesn't seem too fishy at all.
Attached is a GOODRX WALMART DISCOUNT COUPON for generic Valium from 10/28/2018 which is a SCHEDULE 4 CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE or maybe everyone but GoodRx is "incorrect". 103 ONE STAR reviews are absolutely "correct" and I have serious doubts about the validity of most of the 5 star reviews.
"The pharmacy is wrong, our prices are correct, we'll make this right, we'll correct this, we'll resolve this" and so on in response to EVERY negative review.
Translation: They will send you a $10 Amazon gift card or something along those lines. That isn't going help my mothers blood pressure or am I "incorrect"?
Patty S. Posted about being teased for gold membership and a GoodRX rep responded that she was incorrect.

First of all I don't work for Good Rx. I'm an unofficial consumer advocate for friends and family! I am retired so I have the time to get it right. When I started using GoodRx I was challenged once. I read all of the info on the GoodRx web site and even called to talk to them. Here is what's going on from my take as I can only talk as a consumer. The best pharmacies are the grocery stores.; Why? Because the 15 to 20 minutes to wait there a a good possibility you buy something else at the store. We do every time we go. Having had grocery experience (I sold to stores for 39 Years) I asked some of the management people from grocery stores as to why do some people have problems with GoodRx? Their response? Grocery stores and pharmacies sign contracts to get people in to frequent their pharmacies and buy other items available in the store. There is a code for each pharmacy printed on the coupon. The pharmacist or tech only needs to punch the code in the computer. When some pharmacists or techs get the coupon they'll ask what's this? Just say GoodRx and just punch the code on the coupon into the the computer. They know this! Their grocery chain has agreed to discount to get you into the store and hopefully continue to come back for prescriptions and or other things (Grocery) It is true the individual pharmacy stores have to take the reduced price. My Safeway pharmacy manager loves GoodRx as his business and the grocery store business have increased notably. One problem occurred when the best price was at a Kroger store. The pharmacist said we don't take these. I said, "Oh, yes you do!" I have already called your corporate store asking if all of their stores take the coupons. They said yes and contact them immediately if they don't. After telling the pharmacist he relented and filled the script for the price on the coupon. The reason some of the pharmacies will say they don't take them is to avoid losing money. Each pharmacy is responsible for coupons of all types.
Now this is most important: I know time is tight as well as money. I am retired and have the time... but not the money when prescriptions can cost hundreds more from one store to the other. I talked with the Store Manager where the pharmacy is located. I told him for every 10 people they decline 9 will just give up. If I was working full time I wouldn't have had the time. I asked the store manger could he help me and all of the other people that come here for the first time? He said yes! I said, "Great I won't have to call Kroger corporate when I get home". I know a lot of people that can't afford their medication. GoodRx has saved them! The best way to save yourself time call ahead and ask if they take Goodrx coupon that YOU JUST PRINTED? 95% of the time they will say yes if the code goes through their computer. I'm lucky as I live in Seattle and was challenged only once in 3 years and the store manager begged me not to call corporate. That was taken care of right there. I will go with friends or family that will be using GoodRx for the first time and no problems as I took the time to get through the fine print. I can not speak for the other reviews. Just mine. When I called 3 years ago they said they did have contracts or they couldn't quote the prices or the available stores!
Bottom line: Print your coupon then call the pharmacy. If you have to just say you have a computer code on the coupon with their pharmacy listed as well as the price. Gee, looking at this review shows I really do have a lot of extra time. Why do I do this? Senior citizens are getting ripped off so often they give up as they can't afford the high price of drugs. It is my passion to help and not charge anyone! I only get them what they are promised. Thank you for your time and patience. These are only my thoughts and I stand to be corrected from anyone anywhere. Good Luck to all! Doug J. Seattle. WA
P.S. I never threaten or talk in a loud voice when advocating. My information does it for me.
Now the pharmacists and our family are both known on a first name basis!
