1. I called the hotel and they sent me to you. I didn't go through you. 2. When I wanted to revise my reservation, I had to cancel and reserve a room again, and the prices had gone up. 3. I had to go through two different people to do the revision, and the first one I spoke to was terribly unpleasant.
After this review, I was contacted by getaroom and they credited my account for the extra $100 I had paid.
I booked this room after viewing many sites and shen I pushed the checkout button and it increased $50 like no other site has ever done! Wont use again.

Get a Room scams the unwary consumer by posting a look alike website to the hotel you wish to book. They then offer a reasonable rate and tack on an outrageous service fee ( approaching 50%)then cannily refuse cancellation siting policy when you realize they have deceived you. They will not disclose or itemize what the service fee is on the phone They pass the actual booking on to Priceline. This complaint board is loaded with customers who have all been deceived in this way. Besides being chagrined at being had by a shady company everyone should lodge complaints to The Texas consumer protection office in order to bring this to a halt.

Within an hour of booking with getaroom someone starting trying to make a lot of charges on the credit card I gave them. I know for sure it is getaroom using my stole card info because I never use that card.
The agent who booked our room booked us with the wrong room. We were supposed to have a jacuzzi tub in the room but there was none. When we asked for a refund GETAROOM said it was up to the hotel to give it to us. We were offered a measly 20% of our grand total. Both agents I spoke to said there was no supervisor available. My recommendation is to review the emailed confirmation to make sure everything is satisfactory. EDIT: GETAROOM has given us a refund for hotel room.
I called 15 minutes after booking to move reservation by one day. I was told I would have to cancel to make a change and it if cancelled I would lose my money. No refunds. I get it. It was clearly stated but when I clicked cancel, it suggested that if I needed to make a change that I call said number. I called and was informed that changes aren't possible. Why suggest it then?
*Update: after leaving a poor review I was contacted by customer service. Kerri/ Carrie/Keri was extremely kind. She explained they are an emerging company and continually making adjustments. She had called to help me make the initial changes I wanted but I did not get back to her in time. She instead offered me a 10% refund on my booking price for the inconvenience.
It was hard to find the hotel I was looking for. And there were no photos of the hotel to look at. I was only able to see one photo of each room available. No photos of the pool area or any whee else.
Booked a hotel room online through this website. Was quoted $124 + Tax. When I received the email a "Tax Recovery Charge and Service Fee" was attached $50.04. When I called hotel to ask when will I receive this refund I was told to contact website. This "Tax Recovery Charge and Service Fee" we pay is to pay this website any hotel occupancy tax or resort fees they may incur from the hotel! Not to mention they may retain as part of the compensation for their services based on location, and the amount of the hotel room. DO NOT USE THIS SITE -- TOTAL CUSTOMER RIPOFF!
They charge quite a bit more than if you book a reservation direct with a no cancellation ability. Rotten business ethics.

Recently made reservation through this dishonest Company. I made online reservation for one night stay at $122.65. Immediately after entering my credit card information it confirmed my reservation for $169.68 I was stunned how could they add $47.03 (38%) in fees? I called and attempted to cancel due to these outrageous add ones but was told It was non-cancellable. Spread the word. Check the online complaints for this company. Beware!
They portray themselves to be the actual hotel. Our flights were cancelled and we had to stay overnight for our next flight. I was told I was getting a 20% discount and the additional fees were 30% more than price quoted. When I questioned this, she was very rude and said there were very few rooms available and I needed to book now. I had no idea I wasn't speaking to the actual hotel. Very misleading. When looking at my bill. I was charged a higher price for the room, cleaning fees, resort fees and an additional fee for them booking. I feel totally ripped off. Be very careful about calling this site and booking through them.
First time using service worked well. Needed to change reservation and I was helped right away. All questions answered.

DO NOT USE Them. Have had to deal with 5 representatives and was disconnected 3 times. They told me my reservation was cancelled and I would get a full refund yet when I called the Hyatt they told me otherwise. I was yelled at and hung up on. How can they be in business? Hyatt should stop doing business with this group of incompetents.
The site is easy to use and very clear. I feel they have competitive prices and great options. This was my 3rd time booking with them...
UPDATE from Original Complaint: I was contacted by someone at GetaRoom and explained the situation and how i felt mislead. I was provided a partial refund after my stay, so that helped to resolve the issue.
I clicked on the what i thought was the ph# for the Crown Plaza Hotel chain ph# and the customer service rep. Acted as if he was with the chain. I was quoted a "special rate" better than my corporate rate i asked for. I agreed to the $165 rate over the phone and provided my info. & CC and no mention of the service charges. Later i get a confirmation from a different website called GetARoom and look at the rates and charges... $165 for the room and $84 in service charges... i don't believe taxes & services in Portand come to $84! Called the customer asked for a refund or to match the rate at what it should be and they would not. I'm awaiting some resolution in the meantime... horrible customer service with no help in explaining why the rates are so high, very deceptive practices.

Strong Bleach scent and foam build up. Unbalanced water can cause your hot tub water to go green, give it a bad smell, and can even cause foamy hot tub water. Test your hot tub water weekly to make sure the alkalinity, pH and sanitizer levels are where they should be.
This is a must: Make signs Visible Posted with Showering before soaking in your hot tub will help prevent foaming. You'll notice at public pools and hot tubs they generally will have signs saying please shower before entering. Showering before using your hot tub means you won't bring in anything off the body such as dirt, sweat, lotions, deodorants, colognes, perfumes and oils.
My wife was trying book a room-on line while we were driving, however the internet reception was poor so we tried dialing 3 numbers and got through... we thought it was the Hilton site.
To our surprise when we received the email confirmation it was getaroom.com. When we arrived at our hotel we found that the tax and recovery charges exceeded the posted room rate nearly 40 dollars. The Hotel basically said that Getaroom.com was a third party and they had nothing to do with it. After contacting Getaroom's CS dept. the mix up was corrected to my satisfaction. The original pricing was reduced over $60 and was further discounted. The key is voice your concerns and to interact with the company's CS dept.
I finally received a call from Consumer Relations and got a full refund but had to book with the Hyatt directly first which is what I wanted to do when this adventure started. Thanks Carrie
I thought I was booking directly with the hotel, when I realized I wasn't called back within seconds to cancel. They hadn't even sent my reservations to me yet. When the 2nd level person opened a ticket to help me is when they refused to cancel my booking even though it had not been processed yet! The supervisor had to complete the reservation to help me. He then tells me he can cancel the reservation but can not refund my money! What a joke. I will never book with this company or recommend. They are the worst.
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
