Use any other booking provider as Get a Room initially quotes low room rates then gouges you with the highest 'additional' charges for which they refuse to provide a breakdown.

Roaches and nodoor safety lock

Well, I only killed 3 roaches and a 4th got away, but when you find 4... there are more.
The slide lock was broken off. Room 124.

I was initially suckered after calling their number by accident - they presented themselves as being from the hotel. Then I received no satisfactory response when I called to complain.

However, after complaining here and reaching out to them through their website, they have reversed the charges, about 5 days after the initial charge.

But they had charged almost $100 than the hotel, so buyer beware.

Turned it Around

I mistakenly booked a night at a Marriott for the wrong date. After initially refusing to refund my fees, I was contacted by Courtney in Customer Service who resolved the issue and issued me a full refund.

I knew I could alter or cancel - but was not able to alter so had to cancel and rebook same days minus two. Because prices had gone up - I booked a different hotel.

Horrible Service

2 things...
1. Embarrassingly I was fooled... I did not realize I was booking through a third party until too late...
2. Also embarrassing I booked the wrong Doubletree hotel in Tulsa... wanted to switch hotels 8 miles apart. Was told by get a room customer service agent this was non refundable and no changes would be allowed. I called each hotel myself, and was told it would be no issue to change if the getaroom agent would call and request the change. I called getaroom back and got the same unhelpful response.
I guess I have been lucky in life so far - this was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a service provider ever...

Falsk presentation
October 29, 2019

Vi tog in på detta Hotel pga av att vi kunde vara i poolen efter 100 mils körning med ryggont. Poolen var under renovering och det stod inte i presentationen.
Är resenärer som bor normalt på Radison Blue och trodde att detta skitHotel skulle iaf hålla vad som står i presentationen.

Great experience

Location was perfect. Room was clean, modern and comfortable. Desk check-in was seamless and quick. Breakfast was good. Would use GetARoom again for my travel plans.

Update: The company did return my money. I am very happy with this. I am only giving 4 stars however as I had to post on this site to make it happen. They refused when I called them directly. I am quite relieved however and appreciate that they made it right.

This company is fraudulent. Do not use them to book anything! Use Expedia or Priceline and save yourself a lot of trouble and money. They just stole $240 of my money for a hotel stay I cancelled 5 min after I booked it, 7 days in advance of the stay. They sent me a cancellation email, but still charged my card. They say there are no refunds once booked, but they put a "big button" saying press here if you need to cancel. Then they send you a very nice email saying the reservation was cancelled. No warning notification before cancelling. No indication you will still be charged. They make it real easy to cancel, and then you don't get to the fine print until it's too late. When I called customer service, they told me that if I had called them on the phone instead of cancelling on-line, they could have helped me. So cancelling via phone and cancelling on-line will give me a different outcome. Huh? When I asked to be transferred to customer service, I kept getting disconnected. I tried 5 times. So basically, I'm screwed. When I called the hotel directly, they said that because I used getaroom.com, that they couldn't help because they have nothing to do with receiving any of the cancelled payment, and never a see a dime of it once I cancel. The manager of Holiday Inn told me that. So basically, getaroom.com just took it for themselves. I will keep all documentation and recorded my conversation with the live agent and all of the disconnections for when their will no doubt me many civil suits against them. Please also note that they add on very large additional fees "taxes" on top of the advertised fee. I looked at on-line reviews, and my experience is common with this company. So many bad reviews for exactly what I am complaining about. I should have looked at the reviews the before going to getaroom.com. Lesson learned

Better

I had reviewed this with a terrible rating due to my room been cancelled, and I couldn't get hold of the company. However they have now found me a hotel very near to where I wanted to be and have upgraded me. So I can't fault there customer services in fairness. They even phoned me from America! You have restored my faith in the the company thanks

Cheapest site

Hotel I was after was the cheapest on this site by far and I like the taxes were calculated into the price on the initial screen so I knew how much I was going to pay right off the bat

Long wait

Worst service ever
September 27, 2019

The website switched the dates on me between when I picked them and checkout. When I caught this change I had already confirmed true booking. The website customer service very rudely told me there was nothing they could do and actually told me to " just stay at the hotel for the dates that were wrong "

If there were negative star reviews this would be a negative 5 star review

Was charged extra per person for breakfast by the site for a place that didnt even have breakfast. Worse thing about it was this was our last meal together before my son deployed overseas. Very disappointing indeed.

Bad service

I entered wrong date for my reservation. Get all the way to the hotel to figure it out. Contacted GetARoom and they said they couldn't help me. Won't use this site again.

Update: Get a room contacted me and ended up refunded my fill amount which was great as that's what they should have done from the beginning. They did the right thing which I am glad but it shouldn't have taken me complaining on multiple sites for them to do so.

I booked a room in Edmonton Alberta and thought that I was booking directly through the Days Inn by Wyndham Website but this is actually a 3rd party website. Sneaky and deceiving. No where before I checked out did it state that it was non-refundable. The hotel has a 24hr cancellation policy! Why on earth would I want a hotel reservation that I cannot cancel. Life happens and things change. The extra fees were $89.41. My total through get a room was $300.21. Where as if I book through the hotel itself my total would be $236.34 and refundable. I called and complained 30 mins after I booked when I saw that it wasn't refundable. I spoke with a manager who refused to cancel my booking but offered me15% off which I appreciate... but ultimately I want and deserve my money back. This was false advertising and this website is a scam and taking advantage of people. I am angry that this website took advantage of me. Be aware!

Had an issue with a cancellation, but it was resolved with a few phone calls. Make sure you review schedule of fees and read the cancellation policy very thoroughly.

Original review: I highly recommend that nobody use this company. I paid extra for a cancelable room but when I went to cancel they said that because of the "hotel's" policy, not THEIR policy, I could not get a refund. I'm no idiot and I travel 1-2 times per month. I'm disputing this on my credit card and fighting this every way I know how. It's not even about the money, it's about the scam.
Update: I received a nice call from Getaroom. They were very gracious and are issuing me a refund. It was a nice surprise that they are doing the right thing. It's rare that companies that are not brick and mortar step up for their customers. When I receive my refund I will be either deleting or adjusting this review's rating. I feel much better about this company.
