I hate when companies sneakily do this; then they get hacked & my CC gets compromised!
Some how these over inflated, scheming thieves manage to delude you into thinking you are actually using the hotels own website... no, no, no! Not only are their prices above those of the hotel itself, they add a further £120+ to your booking for "taxes and 3rd party charges". Tried to call and explain I didn't want the room at those prices as could book cheaper with the actual hotel, to be told the cancellation policy was that I would be charged the entire amount of the booking (needless to say I now have no alternative but to stay at this hotel at overinflated price). Really not happy, they couldn't give a toss once you've purchased from them. I feel that their tactics are very poor and underhand. Would urge people to avoid like the plague!

I booked a hotel for a certain date. When I got o the checkout it changed my dates. I confirmed the hotel and then realized the dates were incorrect. Sitejabber called me and after I explained what happened I was given a refund. Very pleasant customer service.
Had to cancel a booking that said full refund. There was a part refund made and a charge left on my credit card $154.21
Contacted Getaroom support, they made lots of excuses as to why this charge was made but in the long run there is no FULL refund. I booked aCanadian Hotel with Canadian funds but they converted my funds into a foreign currency. When I called the Hotel day's later to check my reservation I was told cannot take bookings at this time as we have not set Rates for 2020?... so that's why I canceled

Booked a room a week in advance, then needed to cancel hours later - same day. They charged me full price for the Hotel room - fine print! Lol! No principles so I reversed my cancellation as I decided to use the room-nope can't room is cancelled.

I had to call last week to make some changes to my reservation and my experience then was NOT great. However, due to my husband working out of town we had to cancel our reservations. The gentleman who helped me this time was great and business was completed quickly.
Do not care for customers miss sold a room wrong data and would not change even after two phone calls

I initially was struggling, I made my reservation for the wrong day, and the reversion was a non-refundable one. I was freaking out, but customer service worked with me, the hotel, and was able to get my reservation moved to the correct day, saving my trip... I am SO relieved!

Booked and cancelled a room withing 10 minutes.
My life has been a living hell every sense.
They charged me $ 1,100.00 for the full booking, and saying I never cancelled.
When we booked the room they said cancellation would be free.

Booked a two night stay at a hotel in Canada. Got told the price was $170 Canadian, get my emailed bill and it's over $400 US. I called to complain and they tell me that they can't offer a refund, but only offer a $40 credit. I told them I was lied to during the reservation process, because if I was told the total amount was $400 US, I would have cancelled. I called the hotel directly and the rate was $279.06 Canadian, inclusive of all taxes. Supposedly someone is going to call me in a few days. We shall see. If they do and fix this, I will change my rating.
UPDATE Got a full refund. Customer service was very responsive and courteous. A pleasure to deal with

After having some issues with check-in, Getaroom resolved these quickly and to our satisfaction so this review was updated.
Do not use this site. Kind of a show & change site. I use different online travel sites to book rooms, this was by far my worse experience. Please stay away. From here.
I have cancelled my booking in Malmo, which has free cancellation, and I have been totally ignored! In addition, a refund of £270 that I was promised in October 2019 has still not been paid to me! Furthermore, they have cancelled my booking in Copenhagen which I understand is because of Covid, but have not sent the money to the hotel 71 Nyhaven, who deserve the cash. This company is totally immoral, money-grabbing and untrustworthy... DO NOT ever use them.
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
