Originally, I was very upset because we couldn't get a refund for a room we cancelled almost immediately because of a mistake on a date. After calling and sending an e-mail it was resolved and they now refunded my credit card. Happy, not to be charged for a room we couldn't use. So the customer service ended up helping me out in the end.
I had a problem with my booking online because of the website company which is out of their hands just a technology glitch. The customer care team still were able to fix my problem and credit me back. I received excellent customer service while dealing with the customer care team.

I reserved a room in New York on Get A Room for a client, when i called the hotel to book a late check out they told me no booking existed in the name of my client. I called the Get a Room help line and held for hours with no reply. Eventually I was informed that no booking existed although I had already paid and received gauranteed booking advice. I called the hotel again to double check and was told there was no booking with my reference number nor in the clients name and that the hotel was fully booked for the night in question. I ended up having to book another hotel, more expensive and further from the United Nations where my cleint was speaking. Since then I have been told they wont refund me as I cancelled the booking. How can I cancel a booking which the hotel tells me doesnt exist. I have had no help from Get a room who just say they wont refund.

I can't believe the discounted hotel room rates. I truly hope when I arrive at the hotel I don't find out that this was to good to be true!
I will never use this again EVER! One person i had to finally say bye to because he wasnt understanding me and i couldnt understand him after 15 or so minutes. Called back and took another 25 minutes!
Booked 2 rooms at Wyndham Tulsa. Arrived at hotel and no reservation in the system. On phone with getaroom.com for over an hour while they claimed they were attempting to contact the hotel. The front desk did not get a call or an email at that time. The operator claims they can not issue a refund even though they never made the reservation. Now im out $201.52

I booked over the phone thinking it was best western head office! They matched the rate I found online for 3 rooms 2 nights including breakfast for a family wedding this weekend.
I now discover this is getaroom and no breakfast included and have paid double the cost! Not able to get a refund!
Very deceitful, avoid at all costs!
Following on from this yesterday I had a call from customer services, asking how they could resolve this issue.
Today they phoned the hotel and have paid for full breakfasts for all adults and emailed me to confirm.
I am very happy with this outcome, good customer service in the end :)

Though my experience did not start out great with them, it ended with a better understanding. I thank then for calling and better explaining how it works and it appears it was a misunderstanding and misinformation. It worked out in the end.

You can get a room cheaper by going directly to the Hotel. We used them this past weekend not knowing who they were. They will charge you and exhorbant fee rate and taxes that will make the price higher than it would be if you call the hotel... we thought we were getting the hotel.

I called Holiday inn reservations to ask a question inregards to payment. Agent answer phone with Holiday Inn Reservations, Asked the question was told the rate would be 118.00. I told him I saw a rate of 111.00 for club memeber did he want my number. He informed me i was getting a 15% rate already, I the proceeded to book the room. Arrived at hotel was told I booked with a third party, and that my room rate was 112.00. I was charged 162.47 not even close to the 118.00 I was quoted. The Holiday Inn representative must be aware of this scam, she just kept repeating you booked with a third party. I have contested these charges, I authorized hoilday inn to charge my card not get a room. Joe F.

I called to place a reservation. I spoke with JAKE. When inquiring about the address and it's proximity to my destination. He sent an email with the address. This made the reservation. The hotel was 2 hrs from my destination. I wanted to cancel. JAKE said it would be best to make another reservation, in order to be certain to get a refund on the initial reservation. I trusted what he said. BIG MISTAKE! So, I made another reservation. He transferred me to ELLEN in customer service. She canceled the 1st reservation (so I was told). This all occurred during my the same phone call.
After that I spoke to a REN, JOSIE and ultimately received an email from STEPHANIE CORDOVA Stating, "Reservation CANNOT Be REFUNDED."
It's Criminal what they are doing at getaroom. I basically paid for 2 rooms, for the same night, in 2 different cities. This should Never have occurred. I kept hearing their "Hotel Partner " is not responding, system is down, it's the weekend and not normal business hours... I've come to find out the hotel partner is Hotel Beds Direct Connect, location in Spain. Also Criminals.
I'd recommend calling the hotel directly. Never call this getaroom and/or hotel beds direct connect, EVER!

This company is a complete scam. I wanted to book a one night stay in Denver, CO for my unit's Marine Corps Birthday Ball. I searched for the hotel website and found an ad sponsored website that showed the hotel's name in the URL. After clicking on this link I was taken to a website I thought was the hotel's website. When I clicked on the room I wanted I was taken to getaroom.com, which I thought was a website contracted by the hotel to handle their booking. The price for the room was listed as $119 for a single king size bed. I clicked on the book now button and was taken to a page which stated their no refund no cancellation policy and then asked for my credit card information. I gave it and clicked submit. I then was taken to the summary page saying my card was charged $210.02! I want to make it clear, no where during this process was the total amount of what was being charged displayed!
I looked at my confirmation email which showed I was charged $148.75 for the room and $61.27 on "tax recovery charges and service fees" (again, this was not displayed to me prior to purchasing the room). I then went back to the website and hit the back button to the page I saw the room. The room literally changed prices before my eyes from $119 to $148.
I immediately called customer service to ask for a refund. I was told repeatedly by a very rude female that she could only give me a 10% inconvenience fee refund but could not refund the money because of their policy. I repeatedly asked for a manager but was told "they are with another customer" and they were "just going to tell me the same thing". They refused to transfer me to the manager until I threatened to report this charge as fraudulent with my credit card company. I was then told I would be transferred to a "specialist" who could assist me. After sitting for a further 33 minutes on hold, I heard an automatic recording state, "this number is not a working number". DO NOT USE THESE A**HOLES!

I made a mistake with the dates I was sure I put them in right but the dates came up wrong for entering and exiting. I called them as soon as I saw the mistake. They refused to fix the dates. So I now can not enter our room on the date needed and will have to pay for a day we will not use the room.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.

There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
