I CANCELED MY RESERVATIONS WITHIN THE TIMEFRAME ALLOWED FOR A FULL REFUND, AND THE REQUEST WAS NOT PROCESSED
I was surprised that if I made a reservation in Calgary, using my Canadian $ credit card, the amount will not be fixed.
I made the reservation using my US $ credit card and confirmed it by calling the hotel.
The information you provided was not accurate: the parking for one night was not included.
Stayed before ask for a new bed spread due to stains didn't have one not good for a business also toilet had flecksof stool init I'm a nurse things should be cleaned the first time but of course we called an$ they had someone from housekeeping come up that should not be we should got a discount or rewards which don't affect there cost at all have to stay there caus3 every other inn was booked shape up

First off... went to holiday inns website and this so called company is who I apparently booked my reservation through... but you have no idea you're not booking through the actual hotel. So deceiving. When I called the number to say I made a mistake with my reservation they told me they would not refund my money. When I asked the rep to speak to her supervisor she told me there was no one else I could speak to. She wouldn't give me her name and wouldn't give me any information. I've read all of these reviews about how deceptive this company is and I expect my money back and expect to hear from someone who understand what I'm even saying! Please be aware of this if you're trying to book through them! This is terrible! It's a total SCAM. I don't care what it takes but I will get my money back from them whatever it takes. The rep I spoke to also told me I could send an EMAIL... went to send an email and it said the web address doesn't exist! Save your money and time and I hope before booking nobody else has to go through this! It's pathetic and absolutely ridiculous!

Got online to what looked like the motel website. Room rate looked OK, so I booked it. However, the confirmation email indicated that a 40% "Tax" was added to the room rate.
I tried to contact the "need help" phone number provided on the confirmation email, but all I got was a recording that said if I had any question to contact the motel directly. The motel could not do anything about the excessive charge. This is a case of dishonesty at best, and larceny at worst!

I thought I was on the Hilton Buenos Aires site, offered a price with a buy now button but Invoice came through at 3x more. Including getarooms taxes and charges which were 33% at $166.

I made an error in booking a room through this website. I called within 5 mins to cancel the reservation. They refused to help even though I had called within 5 mins of making the mistaken reservation. Dont waste your time with this website. There are much better services out there for making reservations without the hidden fees. Simply put, this site will exploit mistakes for their benefit.

I was quoted a price inclusive of fees at $975. The total charge was $1169. 52. I specifically asked if the $975 was the entire charge and assured that it was the correct total. I tried to change it but was told i could get a discount? I don't want a discount. I want me money back for your illegal actions. Has this been a class action yet?
Easy to work with and willing to make adjustments to your reservation as needed. Would recommend them to friends.

Today, I wanted to make a room reservation at a Quality Inn hotel in Wisconsin. I was on their website, got a quote of $142 something plus $21.00 tax for a total of $163.88. I booked, and when the charge authorization came through it was for $211.85! I am pretty computer savvy. I really did think I was still on the Quality Inn website when I booked. After calling GetARoom, and speaking with representative, all they could give me was $14. I really don't know what that represented.
I see that other people have had this issue of being redirected from the hotel website. I do not know whose fault this is, but it is very misleading to the public. I think the company should have provided a refund to get me to the cost I originally saw, $163.88. We will refute the additional $47.97 of tax recovery charges.

I googled a Hampton Inn at my intended destination and there was a number phone number that appeared to be for reservations to the hotel by the Hilton chain. During the call, I was never told this was not the hotel, but rather a third party. The first mistake was the guy tried to book me at a hotel in Las Vegas when I was trying to book a hotel in St. Louis. He corrected it. All sounded legit. He quoted a price plus taxes which is typical for a hotel. However, the whole time, it was hard to hear him and understand him I did not find out it was a third party until I received an e-mail confirmation. Had I known up front it was a third party, I would never have used them i then found in the e-mail confirmation the reservation dates were incorrect, a month off, a ridiculously high tax, recovery and service fee that was more expensive than going directly to the hotel, and a disclaimer that they don't refund. I called to cancel and demand my money back for their mistake and deceptiveness. They wouldn't work with me. The fact that they have a no refund policy tells me that they are a deceptive company and its not about customer good service. I finally got a hold of the actual hotel and they said they get complaints about companies like this all the time.
I filed my review here and within a day, I will contacted by their resolutions department. This person, Carie, said they would refund my money and apologized for my dissatisfaction. I am happy that I got my money back, but still, it should not have been escalated to a resolution department.
I was searching for a hotel near the airport in Mauritius for an overnight stay. The web search steered me GETAROOM.com offering a room in the Holiday Inn for 155.00 a night. I actually thought I was in the hotel's official website so I entered my information and Credit card number. Once I clicked on process, it showed I was charged roughly 228 dollars! The extra 73 dollars was listed as "Tax recovery & service fee"! The charges were non refundable. If I were to go to Holiday Inn's (real) website and run the same dates for the same room, the charge would be a total of 155 with taxes included. I called GETAROOM.COM's customer service and explained to them my concerns. I asked the customer service agent to explain and break down the taxes and services fee of 73 dollars but the customer service agent said she did not have that information. The websites/company lacks transparency on their charges. They seem to over charge for their "service" fee. They offered a 20 dollar refund in the end. I was quite disappointed and I do not recommend this company.
Update: While on my trip, a customer service agent from GETAROOM.COM called to address my concerns. The agent was very open and was willing to work with me. At the end we came up with a fair agreement and I was refunded some of the overcharged money. The problem was resolved.

I made a reservation GH Universal Hotel by Getaroom. 24 since reservation, hotel reservation did not already get a confirmation fro GetAroom. Then I made a call to getAroom, mr. Melva (cs from getAroom) said that my reservation was confirmed, she said that i must still waitting until 72 hour. Then after 72 hour from my booked, i called to GH Universal Hotel anymore. The CS from hotel said that they still don't have my voucer from the travel (getARoom). Then they hel me to make call to getAroom. Unfortunatelly there's no room for my reservation on that date. And getAroom is not give me any information. I made a full payment by Visa and how it could be. I'm so angry

I have told everyone how easy it was to book two rooms in Miami, Florida using GetARoom. The phone call was smooth from beginning to end. The agent was highly informative and courteous. Thank you!
Never heard of GetARoom until Kayak showed their price. Clicked through and received a link to confusing room choices titled 2 bed rooms having only 1 bed (!) Clicked for Support which promised a few minutes wait but did not reply for 12 hours and then did not answer my question without further interaction. Keep getting unwanted follow up communication.
Recognizing that I had made an error, I called within two minutes of making the reservation. No help at all. These people are total rip offs focused on exploitation of people who are in a hurry.
Issue resolved after I posted this review. Social media matters.

Booking online I clicked on the hotel I knew I wanted but was redirected to a 3rd party (getaroom.com). Through using the browser on my phone, at some point the date changed to the day I was booking instead of the day I needed. This placed my reservation into a window of no cancellations or modifications per getarooms policy. I called customer service and was hung up on the first time. Then was told I needed to speak with the hotel as far as changing it on their end. The hotel tells me the reservation is locked on their end and can only be adjusted by the 3rd party. Queue the frustrated customer getting the run around. End of the day getaroom is unwilling to fix an online clerical error. Terrible customer service. Deceptive 3rd party advertising. Highly reccomend never using them. The room was way more expensive through the 3rd party also due to extra fees that are not clearly displayed until after you confirm.
UPDATE: A couple hours after posting negative feedback, getaroom customer service reached out and apologized for the incident and gave me a full refund. I really appreciate that.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.

There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
