I was told that my room would be $68 but once I got to the hotel for check in it cost me another $40. That's some bust. Then when I called for a refund the guy said he couldn't give me a refund.

We thought we booked with the hotel website and paid then directly we tried to check out early and gave us the run a round and refused note to self double check not to use getaroom for anything

Do not book with this company. They charged me twice saying I had booked two reservations which I didn't. I could not prove this as the person I spoke to never sent me confirmation. She could barely speak English and I had to repeat everything multiple times. They were no help when I tried to dispute the second charge. BAD Company.

We had to cancel our reservation at the Stockton Waterfront Hotel due to a medical emergency. (Burst Appendix) Get a Room refused a refund when there was a documented medical emergency. Just as importantly the hotel had plenty of time to fill the room or to provide a credit for future stays. In fact when we called the hotel they had no record of the reservation or our names so the reservation hadn't even left Get a Room yet, but Get a Room argued that they had already paid the hotel.
Get a room customer service person was great though. That's why they get a "2" Seemed to try. Policy Sucks.

We thought we were booking on the Hilton website, and this company hijacked the booking. They had a $127 rate on the site, and then a timer pressuring us to make the booking before "time ran out for this one last room at this rate". This is a total scam! Once we pushed book the room the rate immediately changed to $204!
Their "fee" was not disclosed ahead of time, and neither their non-refundable and non-cancel "policy". We IMMEDIATELY called our credit card company to inform them of the scam, and they got this company on the phone (called CCI) after 45 minutes arguing with them, they informed us and our credit card company that they have a non-refund and non-cancelation policy, and that the much higher rate including their non-disclosed fees was part of their "policy". Absolutely do not use this company! We now have to waste more time disputing the charge with our credit card company. All this wasted time took a lot of joy out of our Thanksgiving trip to see our children! Ongoing awful experience all due to this companies fraudulent and unethical business practices.

They need training, they make mistakes / horrors on the reservation dates that then costs the customer money.

Unnecessary delay on unnecessary password selection
Booked a room for my daughter and son-in-law. The day they were to check my son-in-law tested positive for COVID. This booking service told us to bad you cancelled to late for a refund. I would give this service a negative rating if I could. Would never use them again would not recommend using them

I book through them for a hotel on Tampa, FL. When i got to the hotel they didn't find my reservation made the day before. I was in the phone with them for almost 2 hours, apparently they made the reservation in a different location, promise to return my money, then got a massage they couldn't return the money. What a scam do not book with them

So far ok, Can give my comments once i get to hotel and i get signed in. My experience with other sites where you book however they dont communicate with the hotel and when you get to hotel there is no reservation.
SCAM ALERT! Booked a room at Super 8 in Yreka. Room cost $99. Getaroom tacked on $50 fee. We tried TWENTY-ONE times to cancel this reservation, Getaroom hung up on us TWENTY-ONE times. Disputed charge wit Getaroom. "we have no record of your call to cancel"?!?

I booked 2 (HORRIBLE) rooms in Rome. We walked in and walked right back out. Dark hallways, dirty furniture, unsafe dirty unlocked construction closet in the bathroom, no temperature control. We did not even unzip our bags. Hotel Milani does NOT look anything like the pictures online. You book, then see it is Non-refundable. Do they look at these hotels? I was told by manager at front desk that I would not be charged because they didn't run my card yet. I get back to the states and find 5 days later my card is charged over $700! I contacted hotel, and Get a Room. I sent pictures and videos. They "say" they are going to refund $244! Not acceptable! Do not use these people to book rooms. READ THE FINE PRINT! If they are going to handle bookings for hotels they should honor "satisfaction guaranteed".

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
