The worst costumer service ever!
Totally ripped me off and will never book through them or travelocity again!
Great weekend away in Philly. Couldn't ask for better accommodations and top notch customer service. Highly recommended while visiting the city.
Intentionally garble call while making statements about fees. Useless service designed to deceptively steal your money
Great experience overall. Will definitely come back, the condos were comfortable and i enjoyed. Thanks!
Great! Thanks for the nice feedback!

Kayak linked to GetARoom when searching for hotel rooms and the website had the best price for a hotel room, saved several hundred dollars.
I called reservation for La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Atlanta Airport North. I needed a room for one night. While trying to book she asked for my credit card details, and the mistake I made was giving her my info before completing my questions to her. Anyway after I asked her if this was a direct reservation at La Quinta she said yes I also asked her would my Airline discount be added she said yes. I then asked her to hole on because I wanted to make sure my incentives would be applied. Turns out that was a lie. I asked her not to put through payment but all off a sudden her accent got deep. She said it was canceled. Turns out she submitted the payment. When ask why and that I need her to reverse what she did she said ok. I never got a refund, never stayed at the hotel etc. I realized its pulling nails and teeth to get my money back. I've called many times asking for a manager and when I do I get told it would be a while, they put a ticket in, they even go as far as giving me this # *******211 telling me to call that # that they would be the ones to assist me. When I called that # they are a pess control # so you can imagine my reaction. I called them back and another man came on the phone. After giving my details again. He said to me the other rep I spoke to offered me 10% discount. For one an absolute lie. Not only did he not offer anything he was also very disrespectful to me. And had he offer the response would be no because the only outcome would be my money back for the lies they told and charging my card without my say so. Getaroom no one should do business with you. You should be ashamed to employee people who lie to get a sale. I need a full refund please. La Quinta inn & suites by Wyndham should really be careful who they let represent them in business it will only detour customers from continuing to book because they tell lies and deceit customers for a sale. Smh. Thank you!
Tricia, Thank you for your patience with this as our Service Resolutions Team has researched your complaint. Please be advised this reservation was not booked directly on the Getaroom.com site, or with one of our agents. Your case history indicates that you have filed a chargeback with your financial institution on your transaction. Because you disputed the charge for the pre-paid reservation with your financial institution, Getaroom is unable to proceed with the request of a refund at this time. Once that decision is final, our team will be able to assist further. Our goal with your Sitejabber review is to promptly work for your satisfaction resulting in your improving the star rating. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Getaroom
Booked a room, HAD NO IDEA I WAS in A 3RD PARTY RESERVATION LINK. GAR "NEVER" IDENTIFIED THEMSELVES UNTIL THE ENTIRE SALE WAS OVER. THE SALES REP TOLD ME I COULD GET MY HILTON HONOR POINTS WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL, WHICH WAS FALSE, HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THIS RESERVATION CAME WITH CANCEL ANY TIME! AND IT WAS IN RED BOLD PRINT ON MY RECEIPT. WELL WHENI NEEDED TO LEAVE TOWN ONE DAY EARLY THEY WOULD NOT REFUND ONE NIGHT AND REFUSED TO WORK WITH MY AMERICAN EXPRESS COMPANY TO REFUND ME... CLAIMED I WAS THE FRAUDULENT ONE.
GET A ROOM IS A SCAMMING CON ARTIST, AND IF THEY READ THIS AND FEEL LIKE THEY WOULD LIKE TO MAKE RETROBUTION ON MY CASE BEFORE I GO SCREAMING IT TO EVERYONE THEY CAN LOOK UP RESERVATION... R*******933... THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBLITY FOR THEIR POORLY TRAINED STAFF AND THE WRITING IN THE CONTRACTS. A SALE NEVER ENDS AT THE END OF A SALE, THIS ONE HAS GONE SOUR AND I HAVE NO PROBLEM TELLING EVERYONE UNLESS THEY DECIDE TO REFUND MY 198.99... and stop passing the buck
I thought I was booking online on the hotel's own website. I normally am careful about doing so. This time I obviously was not careful enough.
I cancelled my reservation online and on the phone, with a customer service rep, after being aghast at roughly $70 in "taxes and service fees" on top of the $149 room cost. (One night stay). Yikes. "taxes and service fees" are nearly 50 percent of the room rate.
Through this process I learned - from the customer service rep and via the website I used that yielded the ridiculously high "taxes an service fees" - that I had used Getaroom.com to book the hotel room. I later saw that the website first labels itself as guestreservations.com. And when you click on "terms and conditions" of the cancellation e-mail, you see that the company is affiliated with Priceline.com and Booking.com.
Hopefully, the refund will show up in the next three to five days, as I was told by the customer service representative over the phone. I am including my confirmation number below. I don't know whether this is the confirmation number of the original booking or the confirmation number for the cancellation.
I feel stupid for inadvertently using the guestreservations.com (Getaroom) website. It is truly a buyer beware landscape when it comes to online booking.
I found the hotel website and got a better room for $158 - with taxes of not quite $14 - and no fees!
Update: Yes, I did gat a refund from getaroom.com, guestreservation, Priceline - whatever!
I will not be changing my review and giving anymore stars. The point of my review was to caution other people about the site, and to encourage people to call the hotel directly - or if they are using an online site to double check that it is part of the hotel or is specifically contracted with the hotel as its agent to book rooms. Thank you, Katie.
Date of experience: December 31,2023
There is a comment below that I did not respond to an attempt at a resolution. There is no resolution needed with getaroom / other than it to stop posing as hotel websites and trying to get ridiculous fees out of unwitting consumers.
Katie, Thank you for your candid feedback and details about your experience with us. At Getaroom, we can offer the best deals to our customers because of our partnerships, and we apologize if your experience with us was unsatisfactory. An email has been sent to the email address associated with the reservation directly. On behalf of the entire Customer Service department with Getaroom, we thank you for your feedback and apologize for any confusion and inconvenience this may have caused you.
Best Regards,

Easy and pleasant to talk to when booking our room for a week in August. Have stayed in Gampton inns plenty and always anice stay
George,

** UPDATE: Getaroom.com refunded my charges. They were quick to respond to my complaint. I'm changing my review from 1 star to 3 stars. If I didn't need to make changes to my reservation they would have been just fine, and I wouldn't have known the difference. I still don't like that the URL is misleading... I'm sure A LOT of people have clicked on it without knowing. Just a word of caution, if you want to book directly with a hotel, make sure you're on the right website. **
I did a Google search for Holiday Inn Express Saskatoon and the first link that came up said: https://holidayinnsaskatoon.guestreservations.com/
It says Holiday Inn Express right in the web address, so I thought I was booking a hotel room directly on the Holiday Inn Express website. But as it turns out it was actually Getaroom.com. I only found this out when I needed to cancel the reservation and couldn't because the booking was through this 3rd party website, not the hotel. The website for Getaroom is VERY sneaky and misleading... it is NOT CLEAR that it isn't the website for the hotel. This is wrong and they shouldn't be allowed to operate this way.
Jo-Anna, Thank you for the service opportunity. Our records indicate you were provided with a favorable resolution. We do take our customers' reviews very seriously and we thank you in advance for re-rating your customer service experience on Sitejabber to reflect your satisfaction with the positive resolution.

My wife booked a room for the Surf and Sand Hotel in Laguna Beach thinking it was direct with the Surf and Sand Hotel. When she advised me who it was with, I didn't think much until I saw the details and tried to change the reservation. They advertise on their website as follows "Getaroom was created to offer you the very best values at hotels and other types of lodging in major destinations worldwide. Getaroom was founded by the former CEO and President of Hotels.com, Dave Litman and Bob Diener, respectively.
We understand that finding the right hotel is important to you and getting a great value can mean more savings for you to enjoy your trip. Whether you plan to travel for short or long trips, getaroom will be there as a resource for you to search, find, review, and book exactly what you want, at the best value. Our mission is to offer you the best rooms at the best values" This is total BS! I would never use this site or recommend this site to ANYONE!
NEVER, NEVER USE THIS SITE! IT's a TOTAL RIPOFF!
Would have rated higher but it first told me we would be 100% refunded up until April 20th, then it changed to April 14th.
Cathy,
Thank you for the great feedback and the service opportunity. We appreciate it!
Sincerely,
Getaroom
These are my problems with the company:
1. I was looking for a room for my family to stay in and did a quick internet search and the number for this company came up as if it were a direct number to the hotel. This is dishonest.
2. When I called the number, the woman I spoke with (Sabrina) gave me the impression that I was speaking with the actual property, because she called it "our property." They never identified themselves as a third party supplier. While this might not be dishonest it is certainly slimy.
3. She said that the standard rate for the room was $200 and that she could offer a special rate of $99. I found out at the hotel, the walk-up rate for a room is $80.10. Sabrina was dishonest with her description of the prices.
4. She said that the total for the room would be $137.84 which included a service fee. I explicitly asked was was the service fee. And she responded that there was no service fee. The call took place at 7:22pm on 03/17/17. If getaroom wants to check the "recording for quality purposes." This is both dishonest and slimy.
5. When I arrived at the hotel, while checking in I asked the woman at the checkin counter "are you Sabrina who I spoke with a little while ago?" She replied that No, I spoke with someone form Expedia (judging from the virtual card ending in 1217, which the room was charged to).
She said that the walk up rate for the room is $80.10 + 10.21 Tax = $90.31 total.
Basically, getaroom posed as the hotel and overcharged me by $47.53. This company, which is apparently associated with Expedia in some way is terribly dishonest. I simply do not see how they can legally do what they are doing. I will never work with this company or Expedia again, and will broadcast this story as far and wide as I can so others do not get scammed in the same way I did.
I had to call the same night I did the reservation because I thought I bought it twice and customer service was great.
I found a good price for this hôtel du ring this period. The location Hotel in The city is perfect super our site for Make a réservation
On February 5th I located what I believed to be the website for the Hilton Garden Inn in Phoenix, I never use a 3rd party when making reservations, and made reservations through the site for February 11th. I was immediately charged $262.49. I recall vaguely thinking that was unusual as the hotels normally charge after you arrive. On February 11th we drove the 3-1/2 hours to Phoenix for a concert and when I went to check-in at the Hilton I was told there was no reservation under my name. I located my confirmation email and it was then that I was advised the reservation had been made through getaroom.com. I'd never even heard of that business! The desk clerk attempted to locate my reservation using the confirmation number I was provided and I was told it didn't conform to the Hilton's system and he couldn't locate anything. Fortunately they had a room available for $20 less. As soon as we got into our room I contacted my credit card company and advised them of the situation and I filed a dispute for the charges and they froze the payment. A few weeks later I was advised that getaroom.com was disputing my dispute and when I received the paperwork it showed they were claiming they spoke with "Jeff" at the front desk of the hotel and I had cancelled my reservation! They also claimed that they follow each hotels cancellation policy and they said the Hilton does not refund on cancellations! I contacted the Hilton and spoke with the Front Desk Manager. She advised me they do not have a Jeff working the front desk and was kind enough to send me an email stating the same. She also advised their cancellation policy is they will refund with a 48 hour notice. I provided the email, along with additional information to my credit card company and was advised today that the dispute has been resolved and my account credited the full disputed amount. Bottom line is be very cautious when making reservations! I will no longer make them online! I had to waste a lot of my own time because of this disreputable company!
While searching on my smartphone for the website of a hotel I have stayed at many times over the years (Crowne Plaza Lake Placid), I opened the link that appeared to be the official hotel website. I had no reason to doubt that it was, as I am pretty experienced in web-searching, shopping, and making reservations, and I avoid any paid ad-sponsored sites. I got on the website, which had all the reservation features and made a week's stay at the hotel. Later, because other family would be coordinating a stay at the same time, I needed to change the reservation to the following week. Called the tel# in the emailed receipt and got a person calling from a noisy room, who never identified herself as being with "getaroom.com," and she said she could not change the reservation, but could cancel and rebook for one night stay fee. I objected, and she said to call the hotel directly to see if "they will waive the fee." I called hotel and she confirmed I had booked with a 3rd party provider, and I went back to emailed receipt and saw that it was getaroom.com. She said people often get tricked because their website simulates the hotel's and does not identify itself properly. She said to call getaroom and ask them to call her, as the hotel charges no change fee so far in advance of our stay (August; I reserved 4/20/2019. I realized that I had been scammed and called getaroom, talked with a different person, who said she could not waive the fee but offered a 10% discount on my bill. Getaroom had charged an extra $517.23 for "tax recovery charges and service fees." I said I wanted all my money back and said if they did not do this, I would file complaints with FTC, BBB, and online reviews and call my credit card company and cancel/dispute the charge. She would not accommodate, so I hung up and followed through. They don't get a dime! I tried to submit below my photo of receipt but it would not accept my jpg, png file, so I cannot
I was only trying to find a special place for a gift to my family and I somehow reached this terrible site... I was on a time crunch due to most places in the Transverse City area saying they were already full for the dates needed. So when the Great Wolf Lodge came up as having that date open, I jumped on it. When filling out the form for adults and children, I filled in 2 and 2. I had to refill out the personal info at least 3 times not realizing it was changing the adult/children back to 2 /0. When I finally received the reservation info from Getaroom, it showed 2 Adults only. I called GetaRoom and had a RUDE woman to talk to and she explained I would HAVE to CANCEL AND REDO my reservation AND would be charged ONE NIGHT for canceling! I tried to explain I DIDNT WANT TO CANCEL, ONLY ADD 2 CHILDREN. I finally told her NEVER MIND. I would call Great Wolf Lodge... she said that wouldn't change anything because THEY would have to contact GETAROOM anyway. I called Traverse city and had a WONDERFUL Customer service man treat me with great kindness and respect which GetaRoom DID NOT and I was able to work out my problem... BUT I discovered I WAS OVERCHARGED $130.44 By going through GETAROOM! HE TOLD ME TO NEVER GO THROUGH PLACES LIKE THEM... YOU WONT SAVE! Learned a lesson and I LOST $130.44 which could have been used for my kids and grandkids VACATION!
Do not do business with getaroom.com or guestreservations.com. Scam. Deception, nondisclosure of charges

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.
Answer: Call 800-468-3578 but good luck. They are scammers
Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
