We easily searched and found an ideal hotel near the airport in Rome Italy for our vacation next Spring.
Made an online reservation for 2 nights in may 2023, no confirmation of charge upon completion. Restarted request again thinking there was a problem, but didn't submit for a second time but went to app to ck if charge was made. See in app I was double charged even though I didn't submit a second request. Called get a room.com and they cancelled one of the charges but charged me $1490.36 for their intential error charge I did not Submit which the say is their cancellation fee but I didn't complete and submit. I declined charge with Citibank after I called back to
Get a room.com and an unprofessional rep refused to help without charging me the cancellation fee. I asked for the supervisor to call me, but they did not call back. Next I will appeal to the hotel manager * at the Pelican Hotel. All of this done within hours of the charges by get a room.com. This is a SCAM I DID NOT SUBMIT SECOND REQUEST THEY AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED ME AFTER STARTING THE SECOND REQUEST AND CHARDED ME A CANCELLATION PENALTY

I sure can't through anyone at customer service to get real help. I ultimately gave up and cancelled. I'm not sure this was the best thing to do but I'm voting with my dollars.
I booked a trip for what is probably my parents' last trip in their life to see Vegas and the Grand Canyon. Getaroom is ruining the entire trip. My mom is slipping with dementia and my dad is not able to travel. I am making arrangements to travel with them.
So I booked this room through the Bellagio's website and signed onto an account for MyRoom; apparently they work with GetARoom. I called for the reservation. I had a decent initial experience- they were helpful and surprisingly inexpensive. Since then, I have been getting spammed from Get A Room, My Room and a whole bunch of other services for our upcoming trip next week.
Last night, I received a suspicious email which I thought was spam. I responded "I don't know what this is but cancel this email" and the room was cancelled. I called immediately upon getting an email today. The first rep tells me I said the word "cancel," there for I cancelled the room for next week and they are now requiring me to rebook my trip next week at today's prices and I may not be able to get the rooms I wanted. She told me what she would document the call; she did not document anything I said. Get A Room promises me I'll get a call back from a supervisor in 1-2 hours. 5 hours later my phone doesn't ring and then I immediately find a voicemail to schedule an appointment with the supervisor, whose name I could not hear and whose phone number was never left. I was told "appointment" somewhere in there.
I called back and was told I cannot be helped without my dad being present. I am over the top frustrated with people who cannot help me because of their lack of willingness to do so. There is no room for compassion or circumstances. THey are drawing a firm line in the sand while spamming me emails.
So I say TOO BAD YOU DON'T get my money. I'm going elsewhere. I hope others find this helpful and I hope GET A ROOM improves their customer service.

I needed a hotel for Christmas Eve to Christmas night and wasn't sure what the hotel volume would be. I made a reservation 6 days in advance. The charge cleared on my account and a confirmation email was sent to my email account and everything looked correct... And then when I arrived at the hotel, they did not have a reservation on file, told me the "confirmation number" was invalid and had me call the company. After talking to them, the rep (less than friendly) told me the hotel had to call them and they would send the information to them. I had them call... They did and the person asked to speak to me instead of the hotel... Then after having the same conversation with a second rep, she asked to speak to the hotel again. Then while she was unsuccessfully trying to send over the reservation, another rep called the hotel--the poor night hotel worker was literally juggling two phones with different reps at the same time. They never could get it to go through and could not reimburse me, but told me they could make another reservation for another charge. Oh, btw, paying in person was about $35 less expensive than the getaroom charge. I told them I wanted a reimbursement since they provided zero services (except a headache) and they said they couldn't do that at night and id have to call back tomorrow (Christmas day). When I asked if they'd even be open on Christmas or if I'd have to wait until the 26th, the rep had no idea what the office hours were and had no idea of finding out. Will never use them again. I am extremely angry that a company would charge my account and never provide a service and then say they can't reimburse me or provide the service. AND charge me that much more than the hotel's cost. Bright side: the hotel was very accommodating and gave me the room at discounted cost for my troubles (which were also their troubles and all caused by getaroom).
Overbooked my hotel by over $100. Cannot reach a customer service person at all. Feels very scammy. DO NOT USE!

I CANCELLED MY RESERVATION OCTOBER 12 AND AS OF NOVEMBER 8, STILL NO REFUND. IT SAYS THEY CAN TAKE UP TO 30 DAYS TO PROCESS A CREDIT.

I called the number that was linked on what I thought was the Quality Inn direct 800 #. Not at one time did the operator even mention it was bookaroom.com! They answered as "thank you for calling hotel reservations how may I assist you today?" My room was booked 2months in advanced and charged at the time of booking. I called 1 month before my flight to change my check in and departure date and they said I would have to loose my reservation and rebook. Now not one time did she mention that I would loose my money and pay AGAIN until I asked her why they needed my card information again they should of had it on file. I then realized I was suckered into one of those THIRD PARTY companies that somehow sneak onto what you believe to be the real deal dealing with Hotel Corporation directly. Buyers beware... make sure to check your web address before clicking call now... or click here to book. I will forever learn my lesson on this.
(one day Later) UPDATE: I have been reached out to by the GetARoom staff member. Within the hour of making my original review. She promptly made arrangements to have the hotel change the dates to check in a day earlier but because of the original reservation being made is non-refundable, normally they wouldn't make changes... but they can and will go out of there way to resolve the issue if you do complain. SO FAR SO GOOD. I'm hoping all goes okay on day of my check in. Now lets see how it goes when I get to Hotel a day earlier. I'm hoping there is no issues with me having to pay again. I will post an update at that time. But so far I am happy they did contact me to try and resolve.

BUT WHEN MY CLIENT GOT TO THE BOOOKED JHOTEL, THERE WAS NO RECORD OF SUCHTRANSACTION, AND HE WAS MADE TO PAY CASH BEFORE HE WAS ADMITED. IMMEDIATELY CCI DEDUCTED 713.58 USD FROM MY CARD IMMEDIATELY. ALL ATTEMPTS TO REACH THIS CCI PROOVED ABORTIVE UNTIL I DISCOVERED THEY ALSO USE GETAROOM, I ALSO SENT VARIUS MAILS, THEY NEVER REPLIED
ALL EFFORT TO GET A REFUND BY BANK WAS FUTILE AS THEY CLAIMED MY CLIENT NEVER CAME TO THE HOTEL.SO THEY CLAIMED IT WAS A NO SHOW.
I AM READY TO GO TO COURT, I WILL USE SOCIAL MEDIA TO GET MY CASH, AND REFUNDS,.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
