We were traveling with our dog, and I found an ad for Hampton Inns, and the hotel looked nice. I called the number listed I found on the internet to see if they were pet friendly. The representative I spoke with said yes they were, and he said I could book over the phone. The total he gave me was almost $50 more than listed price. I asked several times why the huge difference in pricing, and I was told local taxes. We arrived to check in to the hotel about 10 minutes after I booked online. At check in, we find out the hotel is not pet friendly, and I had booked through a 3rd party. I was never informed that I was talking to a 3rd party and the representative acted like he represented Hampton. We tried to cancel our room with Hampton because it wasn't pet friendly, but we were unable to because it was booked through a 3rd party. We were forced into staying, and my husband went out hourly to start our vehicle to Make sure our dog stayed warm. We are currently fighting the chargers with our credit card.
Roped me in with the discounted pricing but when I got to check out the price was not the same. Disappointed. It said $98 but gave me $109 pricing. And this was before tax.
Reservation took over an hour to show up at the hotel. Very slow and inefficient when you are trying to check in
Dont forget the resort fee. It was good overall. We enjoyed the view and the room appeared to be updated. Low water pressure in the large shower... everything else was good!
I made a mistake on booking the for a hotel stay. Once I realized the error I contacted the headquarters of GetARoom and within 3 days my problem was solved to my complete satisfaction. Thank you.
GetA Room took the funds from the credit card and sent us a confirmation email. However, when I called the hotel on Jan 3 to inquire about Ck in time, I was told GetARoom had cancelled the room. When I called GetARoom, Charlie could not help me. We were without a reservation anywhere and it was extremely upsetting.
Had a wonderful time. Painless experience. Would do it again in a heartbeat. From start to finish, I had no problems. When I had questions, it was easy for me to get a hold of an operator.
Helpful, fast, polite and patient. They made sure everything was in order to complete my request. They even called me back to confim my reservation.
Agents were all friendly, but I had to depart early which meant requesting a partial refund. This took over 30 minutes on the phone with about three different departments. Very inconvenient.
Just like any other "discount" site, they initially draw you in with a great price when put in the days you are looking for. But when you go book it of course, the room and date you want are now almost twice the price.
Thought I was booking thru trip advisor, However redirected to your site and your site said complimentary breakfast! But the Hilton informed is even though we paid higher price, our brkfst was NOT included which cost us an additional $37.00 for brkfst. Will never book thru your site again or stay@ Hilton Hotels. Going back to Marriott where you are treated like GUEST...
Person I talked to was very pleasant and very concerned to provide the type room and date with a fair price for me.
The site associated through Trip Advisor indicated the Hotel costs were as per Canadian currency. Getaroom was easy to use however, when the payment transaction for the hotel booking occurred, it was in US currency. This is a shady way of doing business as exchange rates between currencies and especially credit card companies always fluctuates. I contacted Getaroom and they said that it was because they are a US company. Thats irrelevant as they should be charging the actual currency amount Cdn to the credit card as displayed on the website. Will not use or advise anyone to use Getaroom again.
I don't know her name but she was great. She walked me through it after a difficult process on the website, called the hotel and found me a room. She done good.
I booked on getaroom through Trip Advisor. I called the resort where I booked and was told that they saw my reservation but that the room type that I had booked and paid for would not be guaranteed. Furthermore, the hotel was completely full for the dates booked so there was a chance that I would be moved to another resort. Thankfully cancellation was easy and quick.
Misleading charges hidden fees worst customer service you think you are on the hotel web site but you are on theirs and not until it is too late they had crazy charges for what they call booking fees awful company never use them any positive reviews anywhere are by the company itself
Our reservation was not there when we arrived at the hotel, which caused a bit of a delay for us to check in. However, the customer care center handled everything smoothly and professionally solving the issue in around half an hour.

I was in a great hurry, and they were able to get me a room where I wanted when I wanted. The price they got me was $159.00. I then found out when I got here that the actual price of the room is $129.00.
Do not GETAROOM, com! I thought i was at hyatt hotel/orlando airports site, which turned out to be getaroom. S they charged me $465. For what the hotel told me when i arrived was a $171. Room, and that they had never heard of such a price. The getaroom.com site showed all the cheaper room were booked, (that the hyatt said was simply not true) and only showed the most expensive room available, for $239. When i got my receipt i had been billed 465. For a room that was available thru the hotel itself for $171.
I called 3 times to getaroom.com help line, got put on hold for 30 minutes, and two rude, useless operators, one i asked if she could ask her friends to stop laughing and giggling in the background... AVOID THIS SITE AT ALL COSTS.
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
