Booked a 2-bedroom suite with 1 queen bed in each room. When the hotel confirmed my reservation, they put me in a 1 bedroom with 2 queen beds. Thankfully, I explained that I had booked a different room and they were able to put me in the suite I wanted. Not sure if this was a pure accident on getaroom's part or if they were advertising one thing and thinking the customer wouldn't mind something different and presumably cheaper for getaroom.com. But I got it resolved so not a huge deal, just make sure you verify the registration with the hotel asap after booking.
We already have an existing reservation & wanted to "add" an extra night. The room is costing us $360 "unrefundable". We'll be finding a better deal in the future.

I did not know that I couldn't change my reservation. I think the rep should have told me before completely booking the hotel.
So I booked a hotel in Phoenix for a concert and we had to change the reservation from 3 nights to 1. The agent said that the reservation was "no cancellation" and it was up to the hotel to refund my $700. The agent never said it was a "no cancellation term". Soo had to cancel and rebook at the same hotel for 1 night@$300 which they gladly received from me and would "let me know" if they're going to refund me. If it wasn't for my wife's birthday, I would have canceled the whole thing
Room is compact but well located to majority place of interests. MTR is just next to the hotel and lot of earteries around.
You showed me a final price on a room without ANY info this is a net price and then, only during payment I could see you added 25% of a tax. This is cheatery. You should display total price a guest will pay so we can compare offers.
I was satisfied with the customer service and got a good rate. Unfortunately, I was not advised that it was an Advance Purchase, which I never do. The Company was efficient in processing my booking and cancellation.
In good faith, I went on line to "get a room" for a long weekend. I wanted to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, so I googled that and little to my knowledge a pop up came up - getaroom.com- that was 1/4/19- I was booked for 2 rooms, only wanted 1 and have yet to get that credited back to my visa. The hotel manager has provided proof to me that the hotel credited this company, but yet I cannot get anyone to take care of this for me. THREE WORDS- DON'T USE THEM!

The woman I spoke to was trying to be helpful and friendly enough but she had an accent and spoke so fast I could not understand her. I had to repeatedly ask her to slow down and start over. I do not have a hearing deficit or elderly Dementia. My problem was solved in the end but it was difficult.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
