I have changed my review because their customer service is very good. They contacting me as soon as they were made aware of my concern and handled my concern with prompt and efficient service. Thank you for caring for your customers. I have changed my review in lieu of their great customer service and caring about their clients. Thank you!
Hidden fees! They advertise great hotel rates and then charge a huge fee for tax recovery charge and service fees! Ours was an extra $98.00! Which was just about the same cost of one nights stay!
I also was not aware of their non refundable reservation! Their site made it sound like the cancellation procedure was to follow the hotels cancellation policy only to find out it was non cancelable I called their customer service to express my concerns and the rep hung up on me. I would never use this site again.
I booked a hotel room yesterday morning with who I thought was best western. Come to find out was this 3 rd party getaroom. The lady told me the wrong check out time as well as overcharged me by $40! (I had to find all this out when the hotel manager told me) this was our first outing as a family and super disappointed that I got mislead. I called to figure out why this happened, getaroom lied and said they couldn't find my information to help. Again... very disappointed.
Getaroom overcharged me 400% on a hotel room in Buenos Aires, and then told me they had a no refund policy. It took a few days, but after complaining to them, leaving 1 star reviews here and on Trustpilot, and sending them screenshots from the hotel website which proved they had overcharged me, they cancelled my reservation and gave me a full refund. Their customer service department was extremely polite and helpful throughout. Part of the problem was that their website looked like the website of the hotel, and another problem was that they only charged the full amount after I'd pressed the 'Agree' button. Obviously I wouldn't have agreed if I'd known what I was being charged. Their website is confusing, and needs a rethink.
I am going to Buenos Aires for a conference in April, so booked a hotel online. I found one I liked, the Tango de Mayo, and checked it out on Booking.com. They told me it would cost £348 all-in for four nights. However I remembered hoteliers in the past who had complained about the rates they had to pay to Booking.com, so I decided to purchase a room directly from the hotel. I went to what I took to be their website tangodemayohotel.guestreservations.com - and it said that for four nights they would charge £351. That seemed fair so I clicked the button. I was then told that £2049 would come out of my account, no cancellations, no refund, no redress. It was £351 per night it didn't say that on the original page and on top of that they were going to charge £645 for Tax Recovery Charges and Service Fees'. It transpired that it wasn't the hotel's website, but the site of a company called Guest Reservations, a. K. a. Getaroom.com. I contacted Getaroom.com and received a standard reply saying they gave no refunds. My bank said they could do nothing, and they had to pay. I contacted a lawyer who said the same. If I'd used a credit card rather than a debit card I might have been able to do something.
I had previously booked a Pet Friendly Hotel for one night. When I realized I would need an additional night I called to book and my originial hotel was not available. Getaroom found me a room for 2 nights in a Pet Friendly hotel at half the cost of my room for one night.
This company is based out of UK and has many employees sitting in front of a computer posing as employees from your selected hotel venue. They read from a scripted manual with rehearsed answers to your inquiries about their fee's etc. You will be charged a minimum of 90 dollars to have them book your hotel room. The charge will come though as a hotel tax of some sort. They will lie and say they are the hotel itself. They will not give your u the hotels number directly or their OWN physical address for uhhhhhh security reasons ( what).? What other company will not divulged their physical address.? Security reasons? After realizing I was scammed I called right back to cancel. The whole thing has been a whole day hassle and still not sure of refund even after calling to cancel 10 min after booking with getaroom. Really a fraudulent site. Beware.
Kudos to Get A Room. I didn't know that reservations were not able to be cancelled. When i complained, they worked with the hotel to get me a full refund.
I made a reservation thru Getaroom and didn't realize the fees were very high until I saw charge on my credit card- I called and got nowhere with understanding what the fees were, or getting them removed. It wasnt until after I posted a review on sitejabber that I got resolution. I was refunded 100.00 of the 215.00 they charged. The reservation that I made was great, it just seems like they should be upfront about the extra fees.
I went on line to book at room at a reputable local hotel. I got what I thought was their website and proceeded to make my reservation. The site advertised rooms for $124 per night. I did not receive a confirmation number or a receipt. When I reviewed my credit card history on line I was shocked to see I was charged $181.40. I contacted the hotel about the charges and a receipt this, the hotel manager said the reservation was made through a third party. He then was able to obtain a receipt that showed that I had been charged $52.69 in fees
I want to thank getaroom.com's customer care department, specifically Carrie for handling my situation with a booking at a hotel that didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. They corrected the situation and made everything perfect and I truly appreciate it!
I managed to book the resort, but I do not have the information about how to transfer from Male's airport to the hotel and do not know how to communicate with the hotel. I'm literally panicking.
Booked for around $160 and when I confirmed my purchase 5 minutes later, the price changed to $188. Felt like this was bait and switch. Since I was booking through my company card, I went ahead with the purchase, but I will definitely not come back to use this site.
Do not use this website. They have zero interest in you as a customer and do not want to help. I made an error in booking a room and due to their no refund policy they would not change the date of my reservation. I was just out $150.00. Do not book through this site. They also never sent the money they collected from me to the hotel, as a result the hotel was not able to help in resolving the issue either because they never got paid. Scammers!
Is a fendly ststem that allow made reserves and selections in many options in easy form
I hope to use again this sydtem for a new vacations
I suspect your website has a pool connection to I'll go to because I went from trivago to Agoda to Getaroom And in that process the date of my booking changed from February 24 to March 3. I did not realize this and as I was traveling it was not easy to complain to you. Two days later when I was eventually able to review correctly I contacted you, please check your files, and you said you had no arrangements with the hotel to change dates. This is possibly a poll and in that process the date of my booking changed from February 24 to March 3. I did not realize this and as I was traveling it was not easy to complain to you. Two days later when I was eventually able to review correctly I contacted you, please check your files, and you said you had no arrangements with the hotel to change dates. This is utterly appalling Structured to work on that. I honestly can say I think your service structure is so bad it's almost criminal
I reserved a room and immediately started receiving dozens of junk mail. These are not the type of junk mails that you can "unsubsribe" from, apparently, because they come from suspicious senders so that it can avoid the spam filter. Nasty. Wish I'd of known.
Well after my negative experience with this site the customer service follow up was very quick and efficient. They have offered a partial refund after my first nights stay. Am glad they actually care about reviews... very prompt replies trying to make this situation better... and they did! Thank you!
I thought I was speaking to the hotel reservations... I told the agent I had a special group rate and he gave me a price well over that. Very deceptive. Do not use this site! CALL THE HOTEL YOURSELF>>>BE CAREFUL OF INTERNET SEARCHES! THAT LOOK LIKE THE HOTEL WEBSITE!. Almost fraudulent!
I unknowingly used this website when a call I thought I was making direct to a hotel went to this website's customer service center instead. Defrauded like others who have complained on this site. They posed as the hotel and told me my rate would be $98. When I received the confirmation I saw the price was increased by 50% with undisclosed charges. When I immediately called back to cancel after receipt of the confirmation they refused to cancel the room. After seeing all the complaints similar to mine I am going to call the Better Business Bureau and the Office of the Texas Attorney General (phone number *******100). Urge you to do the same.
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.
Answer: Call 800-468-3578 but good luck. They are scammers
Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
