Does not honor their adds. Tried to purchase item online from a email add frys had sent me but could not get the item to come up when clicked on. Emailed customer service and was told they were having a issue online but was trying to fix it, after several days I called customer service and was told that was a in-store add only. No where on the email add did it say in-store only. So I emailed customer service back again and was told what happened was they sold out so quick online they had to take them off. A different story each time. I don't think they are a very honest store and will be doing business elsewhere.
I ordered a big screen TV. It took 10 days to ship to my home without tracking information. The TV was damaged upon received during shipping and it took 12 days to have it pick up. After they picked up the broken TV, it took another 31 days to have my money refunded. So they kept my money for 53 days in their bank while I am without a TV to watch. Every time, It needed several phone calls or emails to ask them to do something. Most of the workers are very irresponsible and don't care their service.
Hello to Frys,
I have ordered for 46 inch samsung 3D TV. In website it is shown open box but when i have visited your stores today to pick the product i have seen deadly truth of your product and how you cheat customers.
First thing i have seen is it s demo TV and running for more than 6 months so it should be written as refurbished rather than open box.
Second it doesn't have any accessories like remote, 3D glasses or remaining things.
So i got scared about your products and warranty you give to your products. I thought i will bring to your notice as well to people who are like me
So please don't cheat people and sale for just money.
I love Frys... but their website seems like it was designed by drunk monkeys. The design is archaic, the search function never seems to quite work right and the whole experience is unpleasant at best.
Avoid at ALL cost. Best Buy has 1) better service, 2) better return policy, 3) more informed workers... Fry's workers are looking out for their commisiions... They befriend, but let the managers F*&)k you over.
Ordered two items, early black friday while the item said it was in stock. Waited and waited for them to ship it, then about 2 weeks later it updated on their website saying it backordered. It's been over a month, and I get an email saying they don't know when the product is going to be in stock again and if I don't contact them they are going to cancel my order in 30 days.
Absolute nightmare, so much for getting these items in before Xmas. Why in the WORLD would you have a Black Friday sale you can't back up? Absolute horrible experience, waste of time, money, could of ordered the same item on Amazon for a little more and got it in 2 days. Go Elsewhere!
The only similar store I have seen that is better is the French chain Fnac. I am 100% satisfied with all my purchases. That is good because their return policy is not very good.
You have to do your research.
I made them a lot of money by correcting a gross dysfunction.
A salesperson told me that at the time of Windows Vista, 60% of customers refused to purchase a computer from them if it ran Vista. The head of the repair dept told me it was no problem to uninstall Vista (or Windows 8) and put in some other system. The sales department did not know this service existed. No more turning away 40% of business.
They have full page ads in all the newspapers all the time, not just during holidays. They do not stock junk.
They are big enough to stock every imaginable gadget you might need. Much greater variety than Best Buy or Costco.
I love Fry's and I buy more then computer parts there. Shampooers, microwaves, vacuums, music/videos and as seen on TV. However if you need help you will have difficulty finding a sales rep to help you, Last night I went in to buy a mini fridge for my father. Since they had no boxes you could throw in your cart I had an unpleasant time trying to get the sales rep to help me. Not getting any response from the first rep for a good 5 minutes, I was asked to wait for another rep but of course no rep was available even after at least a ten minute wait. Assuming that they rather not help me I decided to leave and made my purchase elsewhere where I was gladly welcomed and helped. If I need to purchase anything here that requires the aid of a sales rep I won. T be buying it and will go elsewhere. This isn't the first time this happened to me. It is simply not a store that helps their customers.
Store are great for electronics, especially if you don't want to order from the online places.
Large selection of electronics ranging from laptops, tablets, PC; s, TV, sound systems, cameras etc.
When buying, mostly helpful sells people (some more knowledgeable than others), and check out fairly smooth.
The biggest draw back in my experience has always been with their customer service, if you have problems with a product and attempt to return it.
If you want interaction with people at a "brick and mortar store" when you buy electronics then not bad, if you know what you want, especially if building your own computer then Tiger Direct or New Egg would be better.
I love Fry's and it is a true rarity in the current retail market. They provide in-depth and knowledgeable service across the board on electronics and other areas. It is really a great place for those wanting to actually solve technical problems or get high quality solutions to electronics needs, instead of someone just yes'ing them or just trying to sell them something. What I especially like is that when talking to sales clerks about products and ideas, they give candid opinions and feedback on questions and issues. They are not afraid to offer their critiques of your proposed solution or approach. A true rarity in retail these days. I highly recommend to buy your electronics here. This place is really awesome and few places left in retail with this kind of in-depth no nonsense approach to technology solutions.
I was attracted by the fact that each item here has an accurate and detailed description, I can always find exactly what I need and do not doubt the quality of the goods. It's a worthy online store!
Who just doesn't love Fry's electronics? Great return policy and cheap taiwanese knock offs for almost every electronic item out there makes this the place to shop. Forget overpaying at Radio Shack or office depot, buy all of your supplies at Fry's and you know you are getting a fair price.
Fry's sends out emails of sales for products they do not have in stock and cannot be ordered nor picked up in the stores. It is clearly a bait and switch, get you to look at this item and then get you to see other items. I waited on hold at the local store (Fountain Valley) for over 20 minutes when every minute or so they would come on and say your wait time is 40 seconds, then 60 seconds, then 50 seconds, then 55 seconds, then 60 seconds, and on and on. Micro Center is better. Recommend shopping elsewhere.
The store itself is pretty cluttered, reminds me of some 90 year old who suddenly remembered the 5,000 sq foot storage container he has been filling for the past few decades and throws price tags up. Well the old guy needs to find better help, because the people who work there now are no help at all. Rude, apathetic, dim-witted, and lazy are very mild terms that do not do justice to the quality of service I find in Fry's.
I bought a piece of software that was supposed to speed up my computer. Instead, it rendered some elements inoperable until I did a system restore. Then it slowed it down until I eventually undid the install. After a web search, I realized this program is KNOWN to have such effects, but Fry's sells it anyway and continues to. They take zero accountability and refuse a refund because it is opened software. Online customer service was non-responsive. The first gentleman on the phone wasn't helpful at all, then the manager was a condescending, um, less-than-helpful person. I'm contesting the charge with Visa and will never shop with Fry's again.
I am pre-ordering Xbox One today 9/19. I will try and see how this goes with frys.com What I am expecting by Percentage ranking -
25% - Someone steals my card and uses it. Good thing is I check my balance constantly. And Amex rocks with fraudulent charges.
40% - They don't ship the Xbox on November 22nd like it states.
35% - Everything goes well and I will give them 5 stars.
Daddy needs a new pair of shoes!
We do our monthly shopping at Frys every month. On Jan 4th around 2.30 p.m., there were no carts available one cart was out of service and the other had a note that said does not charge. That's fine things happened we figured the third cart was being used because you have 3 electric carts for that store. We just said we will wait until tomorrow to shop. The second day at 10.30 am we encountered the exact same issue 2 carts down and thought the third was being used. That is fine we will come back in the morning. So the next day we got up made a special point to be there when they opened and we were the first ones in line when they opened up at 7 am and went straight to the carts and guess what 2 carts down and there was no third cart and that is when we got upset and went to Walmart. For monthly groceries, we spend around 300 dollars which Walmart got instead of Fruys. I am not sure if management gets bonuses every month for being below cost that kind of conducting business can lead to customer service being sacrificed. Im not sure about this but I think certain types of stores are responsible for making sure that Businesses provide access for disabled patron and carts that are broken down does not provide reasonable access for people with disabilities. I will try and find out by looking into this.
I ordered from Fry's about three years ago now to receive the first laptop I had ever purchased on my own. It has worked perfectly since, and I purchased it for 300 less than Dell advertised it for. It came rather quickly in the mail as well!
Sure Frys has all these cheap knockoff items and some of the mainstream brands are fairly competitive, and that's great. But If you buy something thru Frys.com, you can't return it to the store. You can only manage it through Fry's.com and it's a huge pain and inconvenience. Their website has always been real bulky to use because of the layout. Since they're a separate business for all intents and purposes from Frys the physical store, why don't they just call the website something else other than Frys in order to avoid confusion?
I've held back on leaving this review hoping I just caught somebody on a bad day, but never fails everytime I come just horrible service. One person sends you to another department just to find out that person says no no it's back over there. Then they dont want to show you they get upset when you ask you get the run around. I literally just had some tell me well if they sent you over here that means we dont have it. What! What does that even mean how is that good service. RadioShack had better service. Yes this place has cool stuff decent prices but the workers lack of intrest for the place and lack of service makes it undesirable to even come here anymore. Please do something to fix this.
Answer: I used to shop at Fry's when I was in the United States and I now live in China and have actually visited a factory where some of the Beats products are manufactured. Fry's products are all genuine products. During my 5+ years of shopping at Fry's, they have always given me excellent service and refunded my purchase price if ever I needed to make a return. If want FAKE products then try a famous auction web site, some no-name web sites with lots of bad English grammar and too-good-to-be-true prices shipped from Asia. Alternatively, you could book a flight to Shenzhen, China and I could introduce you to many Beats counterfeits. Fry's is a great place to shop and I highly recommend them for good price and quality products. I hope you enjoy your new Beats headphones when you finally get them.
Answer: Do not get anything from them! Horrible experience
