It is not clear that you will be charged $12.97 per month for the membership. I was advertised that I could sign up for a 1-time rebate offer. Several months later, I realized they have been charging me every month without notifying me by email or making it clear up front. A horrible company that's obviously trying to take your money for nothing. Why don't you guys send email updates? Invoices of your charges? It's very obvious that you want to slowly take money from everyone's bank account until they find out and leave you a horrible review here.
My wife and I *love* freeshipping.com. It gives us the freedom to buy stuff from many retailers and have $10 of shipping and return shipping charges refunded. Also works great for covering one day shipping charges from Amazon!
The 10% discount is cool, but the real savings come when they run 20% discount on retailers.
Have had occasional issues with rebates and a few emails usually clears things up without a phone call.
Hi Da,
We are so happy to hear you love membership with Freeshipping.com!
Thanks & Happy Shopping!

Unfailingly, after a company gets so many bad reviews, suddenly one person, that never wrote a review before at sitejabber, gives them 5 stars. And the person has the audacity of calling everyone else unable to read small print and unable to follow instructions. I wonder how much freeshipping.com paid them or these are employees and family members? Hum... and getting helpful votes? Hello, more employees or family?
This reminds me of a professional that everytime he got bad reviews would review himself under assumed names (one-time-wonder-reviewer) and give himself five stars.
Truly shame on me.
First time I did not get a rebate because I submitted late (really?). I quit I joined again (how dumb is that?)
Second time I thought I order so much online that would now get my membership paid and more, even make up for lost prior membership.
Got nothing, obscure rules, more money lost.
I have no idea if this scam is still up.
I was in the middle of signing up when I saw they charge you a fee. There are plenty of places that do this and dont charge u anything! Or use your credit card for cash back. They wont be getting any of my money!
Hi Erica, we're sorry for any confusion regarding the membership fee. Please reach out directly to Help@FreeShipping.com for assistance. Thanks
Noticed this charge on my 90 year old father's charge statement, now that we are taking care of his finances. He had been charged since 2014! They offered a refund for the past year, but he was charged for 51 months! That is over $660. So they still got over $500 of his money. HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE. I would put a rating lower than 1 if possible. He would not have ordered anything from Walmart online. I have no doubt, he would not have signed up for this service.
After many emails with customer service, all credits for 51 months have been received. It took many follow ups, but it has been taken care of. Use this service with extreme caution.
Hi Elizabeth,
I am very sorry for any inconvenience and will be happy to assist you with that refund. Please reach out to me directly at Help@Freeshipping.com and reference Customer Loyalty #FS239.
Thanks,

Freeshipping.com seems to be a scam. They mislead you, advertising "get your shipping charges back" but they are actually charging you for a monthly subscription of around $13 USD. Do not let them get away with this, request your refund.
I cancelled my previous membership last year. Subscribed again this year and started paying monthly membership fee, no questions were asked during my enrollment and while payment also. Bought good $$$ worth of items thru freeshipping.com link, I should receive a very nice amount of cash back. When the time is coming to pay me the cash back, suddenly now they cancelled my membership. The reasons freeshipping.com is giving are baseless. The reasons/rules were not there in FAQ's or nowhere in freeshipping.com site. They are bagging most of all cash back money from Retailers by not paying back to subscribers. "Stay Away. Don't fall into their trap"
Hi there,
All of our members receive the cash back earned each quarter as long as they abide by the details outlined in our Terms of Use. We take misuse of our service very seriously and monitor it closely. If we suspect a member is misusing our service and violating our terms, we reserve the right to cancel the account and cash back will be declined for these reasons. You can visit our site to read the Terms of Use in full at any time. If you need any further assistance, please contact customerservice@freeshipping.com. Thank you!
Sincerely,
The FreeShipping.com Team
What a RIP-OFF! Bait and switch, hidden costs, false charges and smart A$$ reps, to boot. Took over an hour just to get someone on the phone - constant busy until then. Told the rep I was not interested in anything they had to offer, wanted to be removed from the list and refunded the $12.97 charge. He simply said that I had signed up for it and they could charge my card for that reason. I don't know what they claim I signed up for, because all he could tell me was that I did it with an ebay purchase. So sick of these "legal" scams running rampant on the web. ENOUGH! Get a real job and stop stealing from unsuspecting consumers who want nothing to do with this useless company and only want whatever it is they had purchased in the first place!
Hi Stephanie,
I apologize for any misunderstanding and inconvenience you experienced regarding the Freeshipping.com membership.
If you could contact us at customerservice@freeshipping.com we will be happy to answer all your questions regarding when and how you registered for a membership, and refund the charge in question.

These guys are scams and crooks. I ordered a Television online from Walmart. I did this to hold the item in store. They must have been a pop up with misleading information. I don't know why I gave them my info, I must have thought it was to hold the TV. I never noticed I was getting charged $12.95 a month for over seven months. The charge is small so I over looked or thought it was another family member using the service. Never received any info electronically or by mail. I called rep today, said that I had not asked to cancel but would stop charging me. I may have to cancel card to prevent further charges.
Hi Rodney, I can certainly help you understand how you got signed up with us and get those charges refunded for you! When you signed up you would have received a welcome email from us, explaining the details of the program as well as the monthly membership fee. Can you please email me directly at mprocaccini@FreeShipping.com or call me at 860.358.9198 x237. You can also call our toll free number, who is available 24/7 at 800-515-9185.
Hi,
I ordered book from Valorebooks.com, it said I am eligible for free shipping and I got this bull$#*! freeshipping link. I had to fill up a form. Nothing was mentioned about any trial period or membership fees. I called customer service now. That lady was rude and not ready to give my refund. They deducted $12.97 from my account. Its a scam. I cancelled my membership to avoid future deduction and there is no way out there to delete the card details.
They are not even giving my money back.
They take money from you and claim to give the same money back as freeshipping? Bull$#*!!
I didn't even get the shipping charges back.
Who will want to pay $12.97 for 3 dollars?
This website should be banned!
Hi Reshma,
We’re sorry to hear about your negative experience with our site. Our free trial is mentioned at the top of the sign up page and in the offer details directly above where you entered your credit card information. The offer details also state that if you do not cancel your membership during your trial period, you will automatically be enrolled as one of our members. Our members pay a monthly fee of $12.97 to access all of our online savings benefits.
However, we understand that a membership with us isn’t for everyone and we surely wouldn’t want you to pay for our service if you feel you do not benefit from it. It looks like you have already been refunded the $12.97 you were charged for a membership fee. If there is anything else I can help you with, please do not hesitate to reach back out. Again, I apologize for your experience and hope that I could help you out today. Thank you!
I have been a customer with this company for 6 or 7 years. I have SAVED hundreds of dollars each year. Don't understand why so many negative reviews have been posted. I would stress that unless you order a great deal online then by all means join and save on postage! If you only order a few things online then it probably would not be worth your while to join. You can save over a hundred dollars a year with Amazon, EBay, half.com and dozens of other websites! I have never missed getting checks for reimbursement for my orders! Just a terrific company in my opinion!
I think most people are complaining because they forgot to cancel before the trial ends. I did the free trial and here's what I got: $9.97 refund check for my first shipping purchase. A $10 Walmart giftcard as promised (for joining). And another small rebate check for $1.47. The only downside is it took nearly two months to see everything in the mail. It is a legitimate sight, you just have to justify if you spend this much on shipping to offset the monthly fee. Hope this helps!
I just called about the charges from Freeshipping.com on my bank statement as well only to be told I signed up for it when in fact I DID NOT. If I see "free trial" for 30 days then cancel, I won't sign up for it. Strike one. Additionally, they told me I applied via a sales campaign, sign up for a Walmart.com credit card and get $10.00. I NEVER signed up for a Walmart.com credit card. Strike two. So if I didn't sign up for the credit card, with the correct last four digits, who the hell did! Plus I am now also out all the charges from Freeshipping.com as well. Something is definitely not right here! Sounds like law enforcement needs to do some investigating into this company.
HI Lona, I found your membership and see that you signed up when placing a purchase at Walmart.com and saw the offer for a trial membership and a $10 Walmart Gift Card offer (not a Walmart Credit Card offer). You even submitted the claim for the Premium but did not complete the process to receive the card by sending in your backup documentation.
You would have received a Welcome email that included instructions on cancelling as well as outlining all the Freeshipping.com benefits.
As a courtesy I will refund the February and March 2014 charges.
I ordered a swing set from Walmart in December 2014 for my granddaughters and just noticed (because I hardly ever use this account) that my card has been charged $12.97 every month starting in December 2014. I would like my money back please. I am not aware of this company and have not used services with you. I called the phone number and was told maybe I could have $12 back. Come on. What a rip off. Do the right thing here. You have taken $64.85 from me between Dec 2014 and April 2015.
Hi Patricia,.
I do apologize for any inconvenience you have been caused, and I would like to resolve this issue for you.
Please contact me at customerservice@freeshipping.com ATTN: Alice and I will be happy to refund the charges and answer any questions you may have regarding how and when the account was created.
Thank you,
Alice

I almost signed up until I saw there was a "membership" charge. And after reading these reviews, I will not be signing up.
PS customer service from free shipping please spare me and stop saying the same apology/excuse to everyone. A company should not have this much "confusion"
Hi Becka, we understand that FreeShipping.com is not for everyone. While there is a membership fee, the savings that our members can receive can far outweigh that fee. If you have any other questions please let me know. You can reach us anytime at 1-855-226-7047.
Thanks!
From the reviews I see here it sounds like a lot of people didn't realize what they were signing up for - the company needs to do a better job of ensuring people actually intend to purchase the product and know how to use what they have. I've had a membership for a LONG time (like maybe 10 years if I remember correctly) and I've received more in rebates than I paid in membership fees every year. (I pay annually, about $100, and usually get at least $300 back.) It works for me because I do a lot of shopping online, regularly shop at several stores that participate, am in the habit of clicking through the freeshipping.com site to shop, and have time to fool with the claims process.
Thanks for the positive feedback, Valerie. I’m glad to hear that your FreeShipping.com membership has made it easier for you save while shopping online. If there is anything I can help you with please feel free to reach out to me at mprocaccini@freeshipping.com.
They charge for this “service”? I signed up today to get the Walmart card, but saw nothing about a monthly charge. Having read these reviews I’ve cancelled my account. Now we shall see if they try to charge me.
Hi Nicholas, the statement that outlines the monthly charge after the 30 day trial is located right next to where you enter your credit card information. It is then mentioned again in the Welcome email you received.
If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact us at customerservice@freeshipping.com.
Thank you!
People should read terms and conditions before they sign up for this service. I have been a member for 4 to 5 years and made quite a bit of money with their cash back and price protection benefits. :)
Hi Red,
Thank you so much for your positive feedback!
Happy Shopping!

I'm not understanding a lot of these complaints and confused consumers.
You pay 12 bucks a month to be able to shop for 10% off with free shipping at your favorite stores. Sometimes during the year they do 20% off and that's a great deal PLUS free shipping. If you are old fashion and don't do a lot of purchasing online, this may not be for you, but if you enjoy having your shopping done online with free shipping to your house and 10% off anything you purchase at all the name brand stores, it is definitely worth it.
Everything is just as described thus far, I have not been mislead or taken advantage of and I'm wondering if a lot of these people just don't pay attention to what they are doing and get angry about their own ignorance.
Hi Chris!
So happy to hear you are enjoying your membership. Please never hesitate to reach out if you ever have any questions!
Thanks!
They don't send you notices when you are charged. We were billed $50 before I finally caught it. Customer service lady was snappy with me when I was outraged. What kind of a business model is this other than a scam?
EDIT: I see the response they have added to this review, and I just wanted to say when I called they were not friendly (clearly because they deal with unhappy customers all day). I stand behind my 1 star.
Hi Josh, I would be more than happy to look into the handling of your account. Our customer service team is extremely courteous and always willing to help, so I'd really like to look into this. Can you contact me directly at Help@FreeShipping.com? Thanks!
Answer: Their advertising is a little sneaky I give you that. But that's your fault, just like out on the city streets, a fool and their money is soon parted.
Answer: Hi Christina, unfortunately I can't locate your account using the information here. Can you please reach out to me directly at Help@FreeShipping.com?
Answer: What's so dishonest about it? I am a regular subscriber and can easily recover my subscription fee many times over.
Answer: I did, but only after threatening to report them to the Attorney General in my state. They rely on the fact that few people will make a fuss.
Answer: You have to buy items from a website…anything from eBay to BATH & BODY WORKS, OVERSTOCK…many others. Go to "freeshipping.com" then delete the site from which you plan to buy-it will direct you to that site. (I always take screenshots of final receipts to add to my freeshipping.com submission), Afterwards you need to enter the purchase date-total cost and shipping cost…then a code is given. I have timed myself-the submission takes 35 secs if you are fluid on the computer. Have been a member for over 5 years and saved hundred$$! Trustworthy site-w/discounts as well as freeshipping (up to $10/order). $500 max shipping refunds per year…no limit on 10-20% off discounts!
Answer: Hello, Any cash back you earn as a member is yours to keep even if you choose to cancel. Thanks!
Answer: Hello - No problem, I have sent confirmation of this to your email.
Answer: Hi Carla, Please reach out to me directly at Help@Freeshipping.com. I will be happy to issue a refund for the membership fee. Thanks! Samantha Customer Support Supervisor
FreeShipping has a rating of 1.4 stars from 756 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with FreeShipping most frequently mention credit card, customer service and monthly fee. FreeShipping ranks 389th among Shipping sites.
Hi Brian, I apologize for the confusion you had regarding the membership fee. We do believe that it is clear that FreeShipping.com is a membership service. We list the charge 3 times prior to you being billed. It is first right next to the field where you enter your credit card number, again in the terms and conditions that you must agree to prior to signing up and lastly the membership fee can be found in the welcome email that you were sent upon signing up. If you were charged by us, please let me know and I would be happy to take care of this for you. You can email me directly at Help@FreeShipping.com. Thanks!
