I checked alot of other travel booking sites and even the airline itself, usually the airline website will have the best rates, but for some reason expedia had a great deal, the airline was subpar though, not expedia's fault i know.

Love this app. My wife and I used expedia on our last trip to Cozumel, and it was absolutely a breeze to operate. I definitely recommend this company to others needing an easy way to book their next trip.

Outright thieves

I have been hosting VRBO guests all summer. I have 9 cabins and we are talking about over $50,000.00.
They have not sent a single disbursement of rental fees all summer.
They refuse to explain why.
They refuse to let me talk to a supervisor.
They refuse to provide an accounting on the monies they are "holding".
So, the guests show up. They have paid VRBO in full--sometimes a year in advance. Am I supposed to turn them away and ruin their vacation? Or am I supposed to host them for free and go bankrupt?
NIGHTMARE--TOTAL NIGHTMARE.

TRAVELERS BEWARE

I remember back many years ago when Expedia was a great place to shop for travel deals. Sadly, that is no longer the case. Their customer service agents are consistently abrupt and rude and they have long wait times on hold to deal with any flight changes or credits. For the small savings they provide, it's totally not worth it. I had 2 flight credits through Expedia with Alaska Airlines. The Expedia agents I spoke to were so rude and couldn't handle dealing with rebooking new travel using my credits. One agent told me I didn't have useable credits and another told me I did but I could not longer use them due to airline policies. I ended up calling Alaska directly and getting everything rebooked over the phone with no problem at all using my credits. I love to deal with Alaska Airlines. Their customer service is second to none. I will never use Expedia again.

Places to stay!

We have used Expedia mostly food booking hotels when travelling within Canada. We have had an excellent experience, the phone support has went above and beyond when problems have arisen. H helping us with alternate accommodation when we exsperansed problems with our original booking.

Fraudulent

I booked a tour in Paris with your company, I waited at the hotel and the driver never showed up. I tried contacting the number on the reservation and was not a functioning number. I contacted Expedia customer service multiple times, they attempted to contact the vendor without luck. I never got the tour. I finally tracked the parent company, Viator, and provided their contact to Expedia to attempt to obtain a refund. Expedia declined my request for a refund because they stated that the vendor is not reimbursing them. This is fraudulent activity. I booked with Expedia and it is Expedia's responsibility to reimburse me.

Really don't know where to start with Expedia, these guys are a terrible Business with little to no 'Genuine' interest in customer service or empathy.
The back end of 2021 we had a really nice place booked for weekend but sadly caught covid.
Being honest and genuine people, we contacted the hotel in question and Expedia to advise them of our condition.
Expedia initially recommended a refund or amendment, but as we really wanted to go we opted for an amendment... this is where is started and continued to go terribly wrong.
Put into perspective, have 16 contact periods between December and March to try and get an amendment.
The hotel in question was pitiful, and a second review will follow. But Expedia were just not good enough! I am out of pocket with absolutely no contact whatsoever. Will be reporting this to consumer affairs.

The most laughable part to this, is their affiliation with feefo to highlight 'genuine reviews'... these are about as Genuine as Vladimir Putin!

Piece of $#*! Company

I hate this company. I had a credit issued due having to cancel a flight due to COVID. When I finally was able to find a flight with Jet Blue, who they booked the vacation package with, the agent kept me on the phone for over an hour with the worst accent that I could not understand a word she said without repeating it 12 times, for no reason. She was trying to pull up the details of the credit. Beware if they offer you a credit for anything. I would steer clear of this company!

Do not book with Expedia!
November 18, 2017

My wife entered her last name which is her maiden name and Expedia gave her my last name. By the time we caught it was past the 24 hours period and the money for the ticket went down the drain. Such a piece $#*! service that I will never use again. Ripoffs. And dont pay for travel insurance, its useless.

I always travel with expedia is the best and faster service and you can find a cheaper tickets by offering from time to time, you have to pick them not in the high season of course but they have a lot of offfer and you can win a points to might counted for a new travel.

Worst experience EVER
December 6, 2021

Currently on the phone with Expedia, I have a booking thru them that is a month away and I am in need to cancel flights and hotel stay due to rise in Covid cases and new variant strain. Expedia claim that airlines will not give refund or credit to use at later date. Then they proceed to tell me that I have to call hotel my self and try to get a refund. I will NEVER do business with Expedia again

Fraudulent company

Due to covid19, unable to travel to a Croatian hotel, and the hotel closed on dates booked. Expedia we're never interested from the start, as to refund, they couldn't even be botherd to contact the hotel for us.
Once money received, our money became there's knowing it was impossible for us to travel. Got refunds from ALL 8 hotels booked via Booking.com.
Advise everybody to avoid this shambolic company in the future. Absolute customer Dont Care policy operated throughout this crisis, trying to profit from it. Utterly disgraceful!

Twice in the last 2 weeks I have needed to make changes to my bookings with Expedia... first experience took 2 calls and 3 hours to make a relatively simple change.
Second, after 30 minutes the call was dropped... and they did not call back... AND there systems were not working probperly so they were needed ING to make manual calls to airline to make the changes... they never called back and when I called again they put me on hold and again the call was dropped after 10 minutes... REALLY NOT accpetable level of customer service... for a system that I have been using for years this degradation in customer service means that I am no longer using the service... just too awful!

We booked our acomodation with expedia yesterday, and at night we received weather info about the tropical storm Elsa is coming to our place. We can not travel. So in conclusion, we can not cancel our room in Lowes Philadelphia Hotel today although we can not travel to Philadelphia because Elsa tropical storm is coming. They say us it is because their policy but this is an extraordinary situation. Only 1 star for that reason

We have used exspedia for many years and we were pleased with service. We have a tripped planned for March 26th from Detroit to Jamaica. Due to vivid 19 we have to cancel we have been on phone lines trying to get through for 2 days straight and phone keep hanging up on us after being on hold for up to 5 hours. This is ridiculous. We want full refund and not credit.

I will avoid! They can do nothing when you run into a nightmare of problems. We were on the beach sitting in front of a hotel and I looked up the hotel and ended up talking with someone from Expedia. He was very obnoxious, the place I wanted wasn't an option and the place he reserved for us was a joke the room didn't even lock! We couldn't get in and then when we did with help from the front desk then we couldn't shut the door all the way to lock it. No more rooms and we couldn't get a room anywhere else because we paid thru Expedia and they said they couldn't refund. After sending in complaints. I was told then and after i can get another night there for free! What a joke I live in north Carolina and it was in California. Like when will that be?

I would give Expedia negative stars. They are by far the worst booking website. For starters, they are thieves. I had to rebook my flight and hotel bundle to Chicago twice due to a mistake on their end and because I was with them on the for over 7 times waiting for my money to get back on my card to rebook the prices went sky high thus I demanded a coupon and they gave me 200$ off to repurchase the bundle and when I did and try to complete the booking it would say that the "price went up two hundred more dollars" and would not let me book for the deal that I had thus I had to change my flight and everything and the coupon finally worked when I payed the extra two hundred... ironic. Biggest thieves ever. Worst customer service. Stay away from them there's other websites that are far better and have even better deals they arent even worth the hassle.

Super annoyed

First few times I have booked it was only minor issues. Like incorrect checkout time.
This time I saw they had a pay at the hotel option. I chose this option as it was a trip in advance that I was not sure I could afford. I loved the pay at the time closer option. A week before the trip I cancelled. No money was taken out, before hand and no money should have been taken out after. However it was, why? Because they failed to inform the hotel I had canceled. I had until the day before to cancel, I did it a week in advance! Not only that I called as soon as the money went post debit, what happened? Got put on hold by them then hung up on.

I was on the phone with several representatives so they can try to change my flight, I booked with Expedia and they gave me such a hard time trying to switch over my flight to a later time because I had a family emergency and they wouldn't they wanted to charge me $220 extra for the difference because of the time. They had me on the phone for two hours and when I went to actual airline to change it they were able to. Do not purchase anything for Expedia they do no care about us customers especially during this whole COVID19. Don't waste ur time spending any money with them. You're better off booking through the airline instead!

The pricing I found on Expedia for hotel stays was approximately the same as 5 other travel booking services. The reason I chose Expedia was the availability of a 'cancelable' rate (just a couple dollars extra per nigh.) The Expedia experience after the first booking was the worst I've seen. While the booking could be canceled (within normal hotel parameters) any change could not be handled. To drop 1 night from the end of the stay would have involved a 25% increase in rate - or simply no refund. When I checked out of the hotel a day early everything was fine - except you get no hotel receipt - that goes to Expedia only. It took multiple calls to verify that I did leave early and the Expedia call center just barely has English speakers - somewhere off-shore. While the service is as OK as any of the other for a no-variation booking I will not personally be using them again. Absolutely no ability to handle changes - even more than a week in advance, even with "chageable" reservations.
