Excellent service!

Its really great site and helps a lot to find and book your flight or hotel. Great help from operator Elizabeth that she helped me so much with finding the best for me when I was booking my hotel in Baltimore. She was kind and very patience with me and i ma very happy that she was the one to help me. Just great! Good job!

Waist of time.

Customer service is terrible. You will wait on the phone for extended periods of time if you need to talk to a rep. Expedia does not represent you and does not care. As a person who travels all of the time, I recommend calling the hotels yourself, most of the time you will get a better deal.

That won't cause a problem at all. I always book airline tickets with my first and last name only, or sometimes with my middle initial, but my ID has my full middle name. I fly a hundred times a year and never book a ticket with my middle name. I never book through Expedia.com but that won't matter. I presumed it was something like this but just checking. Thank you.

I am not a frequent traveler where I need a place to stay, but when I do travel, I check for hotel prices and if the price appears to be good, I will book thru them. I have saved money by booking in advance on some occasions and have not beat the price that would be paid for a quick checkin. As with any service business, the consumer needs to do some research in advance.

Had to reschedule trip due to covid 19 and our sons health issues. Refused to refund money. Our place we booked to stay said they would honor reservations for a year. Not Expedia, took money from hotel to keep. When I called to. Complain was told twice they would refund part of my money. Still waiting! Filed a complaint with BBB. Do not use this company. It is no longer a great company.

My worst experience
December 31, 2021

I used Expedia to book a round trip flight from Bakersfield to Sacramento. The cost was $230.00. Less than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure, the flight was canceled. Expedia refused me a refund and instead offered me a worthless coupon. In the small print of their contract I learned that I had waived any legal recourse. I attempted arbitration. The filing fee: $200.00. I doubt Expedia loses very often. I wouldn't recommend this company to my most hated enemy.

I made hotel reservations with AAA for all hotels on this vacation except for one. I made that with Expedia. It was the only hotel that I did not get a discount for the second or third day. Expedia policy. Don't book your hotels with Expedia unless you have money to throw away.

Got the hotel I wanted, discounted price including a room upgrade, at the time was exactly what I was looking for. They did a great job. Would recommend them, after looking around if the price does NOT fit your budget. They are a great deal!

I bought extra ticket by mistake and I just wanted give up the seat without getting refund. They need to charge me $200 for change fee. I didn't want to change anything but just give up the connection flight that I bought by mistake. And I can't even cancel whole trip because they won't refund. Their best suggestion was buy one more ticket to go back to my destiny from the place I bought by mistake or give up the ticket I bought ($1800 worth) buy whole trip again with their best option which comes down to $1200 pay on top of what I paid. This is what I got from 2 hours of phone conversation. DO NOT USE EXPEDIA EVER! Common sense doesn't make sense to them for their own "policy "

It is generally good if you have to book hotel, car rental or flights yourself through their websites or the apps. If something goes wrong as in flight cancellations, or hotel rebookings or you want to enquire about status of any of your booking you have to go through a very average customer service.
Their customer service personnel don't understand what you say, give wrong answers apparently to please you so that you hang up the phone to call another day. Call on different times and you get different inconsistent answers.

Unreliable company

Expedia makes reservations for cars that don't exist. We made an online reservation for a car for a week, we're sent an email confirmation, only to be told there were no available cars when we went to the rental agency. Lost 45 in cab fare. Got back home, made a reservation with an agent, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. Expedia took no responsibility just kept repeating "The order confirmation showed it was successful. " The woman we spoke to at the car rental agency said Expedia doesn't have any idea what their real time inventory is and does this frequently for car rentals, airplane and hotel reservations. This company is a disgrace.

We rent a car in Costa Rica for 11 days though Expedia. The email confirmation certified that I had only 177$left over to pay on a good price rental car.
First, we arrived and the car we asked for was not there, the guy wanted us to take a crapy car instead. And next HUGE fees were required added to the 177$ for a "insurance" they asked us more than 700$, telling us that it was indispensable and we won't find any other car available anyway. Of course we find an other car somewhere else in 5 min, where they told us the the 'insurance' fees were only optional.
So basically I paid for a service, that they weren't able to provide and that they lied about and now nobody want to give me my money back. You have to harass them but it's never the right person. So Expedia, tell me, do you think I'm stupid and trying to steal my money or are you just the most incompetent company on the planet?

Won't use them again

We booked our airline seats online, but when we went to check in, we were told the cost would be $75 more for our seats, as the airlines only give Expedia so many seats and they were taken. They don't tell you that when you pay for your seats!

The reviews published on Expedia are fake. Once booked a hotel in Jaipur via Expedia and it turned out to be a nightmare for my family. The hotel turned out to be an exact opposite of what was written in reviews and that too priced at a decent amount.

The Worst

Expedia travel company is the worst! I booked a simple hotel room in Mexico for a vacation and put in the correct date and when I paid and checked out it was one month off. I spent three hours on the phone after four phone numbers that did not even work, there website was down for two hours and there was no way to get in touch. Finally got through to their chat line and even though they say no cancelation fees if you cancel within 24 hours they told me I would have to pay the full amount if I canceled! $2,000.00 Finally 1:00 am finally someone answered the phone and needs to talk to 49 people to see if I can cancel because of their mistake. Do not use Expedia, they are the worst! By the time we're done the hotel will probably be sold out.

Run around

Very frustrated. We booked a vacation through expedia. We had to reschedule the trip due to family issues. The hotel was willing to refund us our money or select another date. They refunded the money to expedia, however, expedia will not refund the money to us. It may be cheaper to use expedia, however, if something comes up, they are not helpful and only gave us the run around telling us that the hotel would not refund our money. I'd rather pay the extra money to buy direct from the hotel.

I have spent hours speaking with Expedia about a refund they agreed to give me two months ago. They can never communicate with their travel partners and take days to respond sometimes. They have been so terrible with information. I have screenshots and emails saying they would give me this refund but now they are refusing. I have booked with them for years and I am so disappointed. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Why doesn't Expedia EVER answer emails? Or be in the least bit responsible? I can't find a single thing that Expedia does to help the traveler. I think I may need to go to the social sites and tell all of America about the scum of the earth at Expedia.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

I called expedia to simply try and delay my flight and was left on the phone for 40 minutes, it was an international call from dubai to the united states. After 40 minutes I did not receive what I wanted and the line cut. I was told by the customer service operator that if the line cut i would get a call back and I did not. I called again and this time the phone was ONE HOUR and TWO MINUTES just to simply delay a flight for 2 days. I am going to pay an insanely large amount of money on my phone bill because of the extremely poor quality of service you are offering your customers. I would have done it online as on any other website if it were easy to do in the first place. On top of that I sent you a complaint just after this incident which was about 5 days ago and I still did not receive any sort of reply or attention from you. I am not using expedia again.

If I could give no stars, I would.

Booked a holiday. Payment approved via credit card and then Expedia 'falls over' and booking does not go through. Try several times. Nothing.

I have now been charged nearly £600 for BA flights. Expedia says they can't see anything, there's no transaction and that I should try BA and credit card. BA wants a booking reference to check the transaction - which I don't have as I have no email from Expedia - and BA says try Expedia.

I am EXHAUSTED!
