Purchased a few "electronics" from these people. They don't work. When you try to sell their garbage back, they state "we do not feel our platform is the right fit". Funny that it was the right fit when I was the buyer.
Just stay away from them and you won't be sorry.
Dad passed away with a huge house and garage full of stuff. I am the executor of his estate, but live very far away -- in another state. Mark Judge took the time to travel (1-1/2 hours) to inventory the contents of my dad's property. He was kind and patient in answering my 100 questions. Everything -- auction items, donated items, and to-be- discarded items packed up and removed from the house. Very slick operation. An answer to my prayers!
They have a habit of lying to their customers, sellers, and worst of all their employees. Employees are filled with empty promises, then laid off without any notice. I know first hand that they have lied to sellers regarding forgeries. They've sold things that go against federal regulations. They sell things that they know are not in working condition but remain vague in condition notes to make a quick buck. They only care about $$$ and it's going to cause them to go out of business or get sued (again) fast.
Never an easy transaction always a problem with billing and shipping. Charged 36.00 for a envelope size purchase, when I was at the post office I asked what would this price be to ship from Ohio to me, The post office price was 7.16. They nick-el and dime you. A lot of the items I bought when I received them they were very misleading in their description. End result I closed my account.
I paid and picked up a after winning sale. It has been over 4 weeks and I have not received the title. The latest reply to email was "having difficulty getting a hold of the executor for the estate". I will do a follow up. No problem with several other non-title purchases in the past. I would be hesitant to purchase another car.
LOVE the wide variety of things to bid on. I'm obsessed! It's my daily treasure hunt! I have some truely wonderful things. I just wish I could purchase some of the beautiful pieces of furniture that are offered, but shipping is a bit high (understandably). Keep it com'in!
Do not buy anything from this site. Once you buy something and pay for it, you get dragged along an endless process where shipping never happens and you don't get what you've already paid for. It's either a way to steal things from people or simply very disorganized and crappy service.
Read all the fine print in all their disclaimers before buying or setting up an account with them.
They charged my bank card $110.00 for a $5.00 item I did not want. I filed a dispute on the transaction with my bank. My bank told me they had set the account up as a recurring billing agreement that authorizes them to charge your account at any time without any action from you. They also told me the reason these types of companies charge such high shipping charges ($104.00) is because if you dispute the transaction you can only dispute the actual item amount and not the shipping charge. They are crooks.
Absolutely terrible first time experience. Bid on an item. Never got email or any communication. After checking website it turned out I won, credit card was already charged, and was expected to pick it up next day, during work hours, no flexibility. Impossible for me so I asked for alternatives and was told I'd have to pay around $400 for an $80 item, or forfeit and lose payment. No way. Good thing the payment was by credit card and I successfully disputed it so payment was refunded. Never again.
This website is a scam. I sent them two boxes of stuff. They listed some my things incorrectly and denied that others came from me! One was an antique my mother gave me. It was one-of-a-kind. I had to send them a photo I took of the item in my house. They finally paid me for that but not for anything else I didn't have photos of. Then I bought a Fendi bag on their site and it was a fake. They are scammers.
From the beginning of shopping to the purchase and delivery of my items, everything was smoothe. I was nervous at first, but that quickly dissipated when I received my items today and they were gorgeous. These vintage diamond rings are something I'll be handing down to my granddaughters in years to come. Thank you for a great experience. I'll Be shopping here again!
I only buy jewelry and watches. Very accurate descriptions; if there's a problem, I can always talk to someone who listens well and each time, fixed the problem quickly. Easy site to navigate and the bidding seems honest. I have seen other reviews that are quite negative; however, in the category that I shop, there have been no negative surprises, as long as you read everything in the description. The jewelry arrives quickly, and completely protected; always in good shape.
There were flaws in my item that were both listed descriptively and pictured. I felt satisfied that I had enough information to bid and win. It was slower delivery than I expected it to be, but my purchase was made during the holidays, when everything arrives late. I would rate this one experience an A..
Do NOT do business with these con artists. They may obtain something at a reasonable price but then they gouge you on "shipping". I paid $40.00 for some ceramic urns and was charged $166.00 for "shipping." Ridiculous. I've done business for many years with E-bay sellers and not one single seller has charged such a ridiculous amount for shipping and that includes on ceramics purchased and shipped from Italy.
The shipping charges are unbelievably high. They send items to Blue Ash, OH when i could easily pick it up at the site with my other items. I was going to bid on some vintage stuffed animals until I looked up the shipping costs...$193.00 to ship stuffed animals. If they want to continue to be in business, then the person who is in charge of shipping needs to quit the Self Medication and come back to reality
Wow, first I bought a Barometer that was obviously damaged upon arrival but not described in the description or the photographs. They acknowledged the damage and asked for pictures of the box, which had no damage, ( to blame the shipper?). Still waiting for a promised refund/resolution. Then, last night, I place a bid on an item worth $5, the bid was $11, and I bid $12, but it recorded as a bid of $1295. 00! Speaking to them on the phone, they said they can't retract it "because the seller is expecting the money" I bet they are, for a broken worthless clock. Ive bought through auctions for years without an issue. That they can't see the difference between buyers remorse and a technical issue causing a grossly too high bid on an item is frankly criminal.
Do not get sucked in. Do not give credit card info. Never know when an item will be shipped, and never know when they are going to bill your card. Condition of items is many times very bad. Complete rip off company.
DO NOT TRUST! Misleading info given for items. Not all defects are listed or pictured. Most of the items in auction are bid against by their own employees! If the last bit is not yours, then the item would be actioned again.
I've had good success purchasing small items via this company, but just know that shipping is based on the value of the piece, not on the distance. For example, a vintage dresser in good condition but not particularly valuable might ship for $150, while a similar brand-name piece will ship from the same sale to the same destination for twice that amount or more. No doubt this is to ensure a minimum profit, but for an auction site, this is not cool.
This site is amazing. I have been buying from them for over a year. And everything is described in detail. And sent as described. Pictures are accurate. The only problem I have is when I go to try to resale something. People start looking it up and find what I gave for it and want the same price. I wish they would take the information off after selling it hurts the buyer.
Answer: I am just got through selling items through EBTH, and it has been the worst experience I have ever had. They grouped many expensive items together because they thought it was in the best interest of the company not the seller. I am also currently seeking legal council to potentially file suit against the company for fraudulent business practices. They didn't even give me a copy of their so called "contract", that I had to sign and send in with my items, until there was only 1 hour left in my sale. They left out the most expensive pieces I sent in and didn't sell them at all, didn't find out why until sale was over. As if all this weren't enough, they took real diamonds from the items I sent in to sell and replaced them with "white sapphires". So needless to say, they're probably about to get hit with a heavy lawsuit!
Answer: I have filed with the BBB and IC3 for internet fraud, and I am writing the Attorney General of Ohio. These guys make the used car salesman of the 60's look like saints. The products are marginal, and the service i mean customer service is non-existent. I also filed a fraud case with my bank, because for 3 week I got the run-around about them shipping the item, I never got it, and they said they couldn't return my money. Not true! In the United States, keeping the money and keeping the merchandise is illegal. Don't let the technology and glam of the website fool you, they are deceptive, dishonest, and you get the 'EVERYTHING BUT WHAT YOU PAID FOR.
Answer: Just to let you know ebth customers and consignors are dropping like flies. The arrogant company just terminated nearly 300 employees and closed markets in many states. That means its not growing, its failing.
Answer: I've not sold with them and never would. I've read the responses from people who sold items with these people and if you would like to be ripped off, then by all means go ahead. You'd fair much better by locating an auction house in your area. My experience with this particular bunch of thieves is on the buying end. Photos do not show the big picture, if there is a flaw in any item it will not be in the description and most certainly will not be photographed. The exorbitant shipping charges are insane. I'm not sure if as a seller you would see any profit from shipping, my guess is it goes right into their pockets. This is a very dishonest bunch from top to bottom. Please find a reputable dealer to sell you cherished items, I cannot stress this enough.
Answer: I bid on a pair of Swarovski Crystal Penguins. I was unaware that the larger Penguin was supposed to have a "tail" at the back. It's difficult to see with the cutting of the crystal so I only noticed it when I saw another like item and it had the tail. I closely inspected and can see what I thought was a cut in the crystal is really not smooth and is where the tail should be. The item was delivered on May 12. I put in a claim on July 2 and the company is standing on their 30 day return policy even though they listed as good condition and it was not broken in the box, I've spent thousands of dollars at their site and probably would have continued. The customer service individual refused to let me speak to a manager and just kept repeating the same thing. Now for 134 dollars, I am done with ever buying another thing. Not a good way to run a business. If they are going out... it's no wonder.
