Absolutely the worst flat out thieves disorganized unbelievable I scheduled an auction in Cleveland. I was misled and lied to through the entire auction lost a lot of money because of these people stay away from these people. They're nothing but a bunch of crooks contacted the upper management got nowhere with resolutions finally stopped returning my calls I'm going to contact attorney possible file a complaint with the attorney general of Ohio do not buy or sell anything from this company they are terrible
I have always dealt with intelligent, friendly staff, my packages arrive in good time, and tracking UPS is easy.
Prices are good and the bidding experience can be quite thrilling. ( I hope that I do not become a hopeless addict, a real danger due to the unique items and the quality presented.)
Read descriptions carefully, study hard, most importantly... enjoy!
My wife and I have used this site very often, won many auctions, it was fun. We now are finished with them. If you are planning on selling an estate, go somewhere else, they charge up to 50 percent on your wares. If you are buying find a different site, their shipping is incredibly high, they do not bundle items to make it cheaper, because of laziness. The excuse is to have it ready to ship quicker, dont think so, we won an auction on December 21 2017, still have not received it as of January 12 2018. This could have been a cool site, best to just stay away.
The seller misrepresented items, and deceived me concerning their true value. Claimed art to be original oil painting, was not original oil painting was a print. Seller refuses to provided authentication for an additional piece represented as an original. Turkish rugs were carefully edited to hide numerous permanent stains and tears, covered in glue. Worthless garbage. Hidden charges - Instead of a flat rate shipping, the seller added separate charges for postage, handling, and shipping charged more than three times the actual cost. Fake bidding - The seller bids on their own items, or has someone else bid, drove up prices and manipulated my bid resulting in a fake bidding war. Stay away.
Horrible business with extremely uncaring personnel and management. I spent over 100,000 with this company. I can show any interested parties truck loads of broken furniture just dumped in my driveway. The local level of the business front was immature uncaring and callous. The upper management made money fast in their early years. Soon it all caught up with them. Shady operation with poor business practice. Not one good thing to say about these folks. I dealt with them for a year thinking it would get better and they would make up for all their mistakes. I should have sued them as I have plenty of pictures and document. Sometimes it's the best revenge is served cold. As this company is tanking.
Everything ONLY looks good on photos. Super ridiculous high shipping fee handling fee plus tax and not accept return at all! I received three broken items and highly doubt they ps their photos... be very careful...
I recently purchased a couple of vintage small plastic toy horses for my grandson. My winning bid was $12.00. The total came to almost $78.00 with shipping and handling! That is absurd. The items were light and small. I will never get ripped off by them again.
Everything But The House was an outstanding company to work with in the midst of my recent move. They were responsive, attentive, and super friendly. Shouts out to the Boston location! I'll definitely be buying again.
Although it is not the bargain hunters dream it was at the start, (now that it has caught on)
I still have been happy with my purchases. Everything ships so well packed, and items are at least as good as they appear in the photos. There are so many quirky items that you would only find at an estate sale. I wish they still had Los Angeles auctions because shipping from the other areas is often too much for me to bid.
Full of some really good items that can be had for a really good price. Registering and bidding is super easy and it's fun to watch as the days tick by waiting to see if you've won what your heart desires.
Won a small item $6.00 total bill $32.80, ridiculous will never look at another item on this site. Save your money for an auction site that is reasonable on shipping costs, they gave me an estimated amount which was $12.00 less.
Dont do business with these people. They are impossible to get any information out of and very rigid. I totally got ripped off on chairs that were not described properly after trying to reach them for information I do a lot of Internet purchases and this is the worst experience I have ever had
I've been buying here for a while. I've noticed that certain locations will not ship your items for weeks. I've emailed with no response... their customer service is a joke.
Sites I avoid are Charleston SC and Lexington KY. Blue Ash always ships right away and the items are good. Shipping is a big overcharge but at least you know before you purchase. I do suspect shilling.
Everything went exactly as planned. Received my label, saw the preview of my merchandise, got my check 30 days after the sale! Geoff was great too! Very responsive and timely follow up with any problems!
Believe all the reviews, customer service is rude beyond belief, they could care less about you. Shipping is beyond slow. They charged me premium shipping, took two weeks to ship the item and ten sent it through standard mail at economy rate. Stay away from these folks, you will regret if you dont.
It seems they are using shipping as a way to make money. First, I looked at an auction in Baltimore. But it turned out most of the items were in Ohio at their warehouse. So, I would have to pay for shipping. Other issue is that shipping estimate is much lower than actual cost. So you must be careful or be in Blue Ash, OH. Not worth the trouble.
I have purchased numerous items from this site. Many, many items arrived broken. But the largest scam they have going is their shipping charges. After a few purchases I suspected they were upping the shipping costs went you check out. I started writing the shipping quote down before my final bids. Sure enough, they usually double the shipping on small items. When you call them, they give you the run around but never get back with you to discuss your issue. Then, because they have your credit card number they go ahead and charge you the higher price and send it out. I am finished shopping this site - they are crooks!
I've purchased antiques, artwork and jewelry from EBTH for the past several years. I've never been disappointed. Descriptions are accurate, even to pointing out flaws that are almost undetectable with the naked eye. Packing is meticulous and I've never had an item arrive damaged. Best place on the internet for unique, high-end items at wonderful prices.
If you're looking for cool vintage goods and you're willing to bid for them you might get a great deal on something really extraordinary. I can't say enough good things about this site it's my new favorite shopping site for home good, gifts etc.
Received items that look like really great in their photos but not so much when rec'vd. They enlarge the photos and make the items look pristine. The flaws on an item are not shown as they truly are. Bought a bag advertised as real leather, when I got it. Not leather at all. Coin bracelet looked great in photos, when rec'vd not even the same color bracelet or coins... paid a lot of money for a cheap bracelet you see as souvenirs. The problem is, you cannot reach anyone to make a complaint. They don't believe in refunds, so your stuck with pricey junk. It has happened 3 different times and for me 3 strikes your out. Will not purchase anything because they are only interested in selling, not being truthful in advertising.
Answer: I am just got through selling items through EBTH, and it has been the worst experience I have ever had. They grouped many expensive items together because they thought it was in the best interest of the company not the seller. I am also currently seeking legal council to potentially file suit against the company for fraudulent business practices. They didn't even give me a copy of their so called "contract", that I had to sign and send in with my items, until there was only 1 hour left in my sale. They left out the most expensive pieces I sent in and didn't sell them at all, didn't find out why until sale was over. As if all this weren't enough, they took real diamonds from the items I sent in to sell and replaced them with "white sapphires". So needless to say, they're probably about to get hit with a heavy lawsuit!
Answer: I have filed with the BBB and IC3 for internet fraud, and I am writing the Attorney General of Ohio. These guys make the used car salesman of the 60's look like saints. The products are marginal, and the service i mean customer service is non-existent. I also filed a fraud case with my bank, because for 3 week I got the run-around about them shipping the item, I never got it, and they said they couldn't return my money. Not true! In the United States, keeping the money and keeping the merchandise is illegal. Don't let the technology and glam of the website fool you, they are deceptive, dishonest, and you get the 'EVERYTHING BUT WHAT YOU PAID FOR.
Answer: Just to let you know ebth customers and consignors are dropping like flies. The arrogant company just terminated nearly 300 employees and closed markets in many states. That means its not growing, its failing.
Answer: I've not sold with them and never would. I've read the responses from people who sold items with these people and if you would like to be ripped off, then by all means go ahead. You'd fair much better by locating an auction house in your area. My experience with this particular bunch of thieves is on the buying end. Photos do not show the big picture, if there is a flaw in any item it will not be in the description and most certainly will not be photographed. The exorbitant shipping charges are insane. I'm not sure if as a seller you would see any profit from shipping, my guess is it goes right into their pockets. This is a very dishonest bunch from top to bottom. Please find a reputable dealer to sell you cherished items, I cannot stress this enough.
Answer: I bid on a pair of Swarovski Crystal Penguins. I was unaware that the larger Penguin was supposed to have a "tail" at the back. It's difficult to see with the cutting of the crystal so I only noticed it when I saw another like item and it had the tail. I closely inspected and can see what I thought was a cut in the crystal is really not smooth and is where the tail should be. The item was delivered on May 12. I put in a claim on July 2 and the company is standing on their 30 day return policy even though they listed as good condition and it was not broken in the box, I've spent thousands of dollars at their site and probably would have continued. The customer service individual refused to let me speak to a manager and just kept repeating the same thing. Now for 134 dollars, I am done with ever buying another thing. Not a good way to run a business. If they are going out... it's no wonder.
