Disqus sells your data without your permission then bans you without your knowledge if you write something perfectly civil and non confrontational (like your own political opinion, which apparently isn't theirs). If you don't mind censorship from a company that LITERALLY sells you out, spies on you then shuts down your free speech, then Disqus is for you!

Moron Mods

Poorly organized and mismanaged site with many non-English speaking mods. Don't waste your time trying to navigate or understand it. It's a deep dark hole of stupidity.

Unfair Blocking
October 9, 2015

I used Disqus for quite awhile, getting plenty of likes on my comments. I even started getting followers. Another poster started writing vicious remarks about the Humane Society of the US. i. e: "HSUS is EVIL! Don't ever give them $!"
While I'm sure it has its problems, I had just adopted from a local Humane Society, and I did not want people to get confused and not go adopt because of her alarmist comments. Cruel disgusting bullies popped up, accusing me of being a "soldier" for PETA. I could not believe the moderator did not intervene since they were saying things like, "Can't wait to kill more animals because my fur coat looks fab." I said something like, "Ok hope you get paint on it." These idiots were like, "Admit you work for PETA now!" My comments were tame in comparison. The shallow, "fur looks so great on me I want to kill a fox next" person who was extremely graphic with the violence said, "I just flagged you, Freak." I didn't even know what that meant. Now I'm blocked forever from the site. And these sadistic MF's didn't even get flagged or anything. I just don't get it. Its not right, I was unfairly targeted. If anything, the fools attacking me sounded sick and twisted. I even used the Disqus "system" to write to the site and there was not even one response. This was Reality Tea by the way. I don't want a new account because they want you to register and there is no recourse if you are blocked. What do I get for giving them all my info? There were also many, many functionality issues on top of the unfair blocking. Oh, and don't forget, "You are LEGALLY responsible for what you type." WTF.

System sucks
May 17, 2019

Tried to change email in acount but won't take new one in settings. Sorry but showing articles with no contact number, no chat room sucks. If there was an alternate I'd take it.

Don't bother sharing any conservative view point even when posting on an article from a conservative site. It will be posted and shortly tagged spam. After you notify Disqus of the "mistake" they "work to correct" indefinitely. When they're called out for doing so they will blame the site's moderation however they're system is what is flagging the comment as spam and the site moderation is never aware it has taken place. This has become their MO whenever a comment can't be accused of violating any term of service while debunking progressive or liberal propaganda. Oops! Sorry thought it was spam it must be the site moderation not approving it. This doesn't stand up to scrutiny when the comment is posted, has already received feedback, and is then removed never to return. ALL CONSERVATIVES, LIBRITARIANS, AND POPULISTS CONTACT THOSE SITES YOU FREQUENT AND WISH TO COMMENT ON AND ANY ADVERTISER ON DISQUS TO DROP DISQUS!

Someone asked why they got banned...
July 11, 2017
Updated review

I believe our posts get removed and we get banned, even called $#*!s from moderators--of whom you would think would act more like the referee and not the instigator--because each discussion has an agenda. As long as you go along with what everyone else who is still in the discussion is saying, you are fine. However, dare express an alternate opinion--of which you may not even realize you are doing--you are told you are trolling (which means you are purposely writing something meant to cause disruption). Therefore as a troll, your post is removed.
If you then ask why your post was deleted, you are now called a $#*! and are banned from the discussion entirely. And when you become confused as to what just happened for no reason, especially after a moderator who uplifted several of your opinions disagreed with one and simply deleted it, you finally find someone in Disquis management. It is then you are told to take it up with the moderator who banned you or another moderator on the page. You are also told the moderators have free-run to delete anything and ban anyone they want to and that management WILL NOT step in or interfere with a moderator's decision, even if that moderator is belittling you and is cursing at you.
Finally, if you decide to appeal to another moderator thinking you will get a rational response, you are told you "threatened" the moderator who banned you because you went to management. Then are you threatened with getting banned completely off of Disquis for life?
It's as simple and as ignorant as that!

According to Diqus (which means to discuss), the idea of the site is to discuss topics/issues of all kinds within society. A topic, such as a lead news event, is placed on a page and people are "invited" to discuss, comment and share their opinions on it. The idea is to exchange and share ideas and viewpoints. This is a great way to understand others who think differently than yourself and gather more understanding on issues.

Last year October i was desperately in need for a loan because i needed to buy a house, but i was turn down because of my bad credit report then i contacted a real estate agent who introduced me to his Credit specialist, Karma Credit whom he said has always been of good help to his client's for years in fixing their credit, I contacted him and explained my credit score situation to him, He promised to help me, I was amazed when he ask me to check it after 8 days, he removed all the hard inquiries, collections, charge off and late payment and eviction, and boosted my score from 560 to 798, I was able to buy a house and am so happy to work with such a sincere person like Karma Credit, I recommend Karma Credit for fast Credit fix, reach him on: *******@repairman.com

While Disqus promotes their site as an autonomous chat platform I find it odd that the channels owned by Disqus are moderated by community member volunteers. I understand channels that are created by community members being autonomous, but allowing community members free rein on channels that are supposed to be the base for the company? Very weird.
Why would a company have community member volunteers deciding what comments to delete and what community members to ban? Several community members have asked why they were banned from Disqus owned channels and why their comments were removed when they had not violated ToS, Disqus policy or suggested guidelines. Disqus has not answered any of those questions and instead Disqus has allowed the community member volunteers to delete the questions.
If Disqus is allowing community member volunteers to run Disqus.com then that raises the question as to why they would think other companies would trust them with anything that does not belong to Disqus.
Oddest business practice I have ever encountered for a company to have its most public marketing base handled by people who are not employees.

First, the rooms of the site are filled with atheists who always go to the religion section. The first rule of disqus is "no insults," yet, atheists are allowed to gush insults to Christians in every comment without so much as a warning from the moderators, whereas Christians who use the word 'stupid' will have their comment removed and be threatened with banning. This is because the moderators there are all atheist liberals. Moreover, there are moderators there who will actually participate in the abuse, and sometimes even instigate it. -- Edit/addition: Commenting on the news site pages from a Biblical perspective is inviting the wrath of the unsaved which insists that the Bible is a lie and G-d is a liar. The endless lies and endless hypocrisy of the unsaved illuminate Matthew 23, and make clear that adhering to the satanic verses of the talmud is why gentiles hate us so much.

If you don't mention G-d, don't mention the Scriptures (even the OT), don't mention the Jewishness of them, and if you don't mention anything about sin... if you don't mention that we have all failed G-d in every way including what the chosen were chosen for, and if you don't provide Biblical support of what you claim, then you'll be just fine. One word of Biblical truth regarding the condition of humanity and its spiritual condition will result in your verbal crucifixion like you've never imagined possible (Matthew 7:6). There are no moderators present on the news pages, and "the good and the proud" are free to contaminate and destroy like an oil spill in an ocean.

I am a Liberal, last year for no good reason I responded to a political article defending Obama last year which was respectful and not attacking anyone verbally and then I was banned from commenting, I have emailed Disque asking them why and I have yet to get a reply, even on FB I have asked them and they just ignore me.

Disqus claims to have "great" discussions on their home based "channel" system. While that may be true of some channels that exist, be aware as a possible commenter, that the moderation and operation of these channels is entirely at the behest of volunteer, unpaid NON employee Disqus channel " owners" and "moderators". On some of these channels, anything goes, and a commenter should be prepared for a somewhat jarring and rude experience, as many of these channels are populated by trolling commenters and sock accounts. Any commenter could be banned from any these channels by any " owner" or "moderator" for posting the most innocuous of comments. Or, for simply being friendly with whatever is the "wrong" clique, as perceived by the CO or moderators. Disqus takes a "hands off" approach to the management of these channels, leaving what happens to those that " own" and "moderate" the channels. Apparently, Disqus is just interested in the numbers these channels pull in, not in facilitating "discussions". Let's not forget to mention all of the drama that has existed for what appears to be a decade between a certain faction of commenters that clutter up many channels and threads on Disqus. And, monopolize many of these "discussions" with their silly feud. If you're looking to have serious discussions, or even to just have some fun, choose your Disqus channels very wisely. Otherwise, you'll find Disqus to be quite the frustrating experience...

As a veteran it's sad to see such groups or businesses that may seem fine or a good idea is all ruined by censoring thoughts or historical facts due to far left leaning censoring, or hate for anyone who might disagree with those in partnership with such forums. If you don't agree with Hollywood, the fascist liberals or local corrupt local governments and their lying media you'll have no problems. If your a veteran opposed to sick fads or what we are forced to accept due to political corretness the problems begin, just logging in after claim of viloating some moderators personal beliefs is not right or about freedom of speech allowing us to politely disagree with communist or fascist. Or to have some moderator then send our posts out to various dangerous activist groups so they can attempt to find you to silence you? These companies for chat or sharing should not be allowed to act as fascist so they can censor all but their own agenda driven activism. Thought we had a right to disagree in America, not so much any more with Diqqus or sites like Topix.com. Some smaller towns are totally shut off from seeing some news links or to chat about more controversial topics so the fascist can try to show the multitudes must agree with the fascist since no others opinions or facts can be read or allowed to post.

Disqus has nonexistent customer service. They clearly do not care about their users. They do not have any known way to contact them; they do not respond to emails about problems you have with their commenting program.

Disqus insists on using google's reCaptcha mechanism which can literally block a user from ever accessing his or her Disqus account. Despite endless complaints, Disqus persists in using the extremely aggravating google Captcha device. They do not care how much chaos and trouble google's Captcha stuff causes the end-user.

Disqus also uses many cookies and stores them on your browsing equipment, some of the cookies actually store your comments, email, account details in unencrypted format. One has to wonder WHY they do this. They also store your typing in real time, whether you actually post the comment or not. WHY?

It's a shame Disqus is so heavy handed and irresponsible, because the Commenting System itself is very nice (when it works). It has many glitches that should've been fixed years ago, but have not. Nonetheless, the Disqus commenting system is one of the better ones, which is why people grit their teeth and put up with the aggravations. Wish Disqus CARED about its users and would fix the problems and get rid of google's Captcha!

I tried all three OTHER logon options on Disqus as well as the logon for the actual Disqus account logon. The wretched WRETCHED Disqus wouldn't let me log on to comment on any of them. I WANTED to comment and am very frustrated. I think from now on I'll check if Disque is in charge of comments, on ANY web publication I plan to read, then delete the publication if they use Disqus. This program REALLY SUCKS! I wish I could give it less than a one-star!
