I got an email from *******@digitalRiver telling me my Avast anti-virus would update automatically 2 weeks before my year contract would end and I would be charged if I did not reply to a website with a number and password given to cancel the automatic update. The link to cancel did not work. Luckily, I had changed my credit card last year and the one that they tried to use which was correctly my old one did not work so I got another email from them informing me of that fact and asking me to update my payment information. I was not able to contact a human to update my card number and I did not want to do it their web site online. I'm glad I checked this site before dealing any more with DigitalRiver. I called the store where I bought my PC and the first Avast software that they still recommend Avast virus protection as better Macafee which I can get free from my internet server. Thanks for your posts. I'll try to order it direct from Avast, I have not been able to find a human at Advast either and am hesitant to buy again from a company that has no humans answering the telephone and must provide DigitalRiver my credit card information..
Bought a laptop through the digital river ireland. When communicating with the agent he was prompt to reply that the item will be shipped in 2 weeks and there is not much in stock left so to hurry up with the decision. I realy wanted the Lenovo legion 5 pro and the decission was not hard to make and oh boooy... did I $#*! my self up.
Information on confirmation email shipping in 2 weeks. Waited, and give a call 2 days before item had to be shipped, just to check are there any updates, any delays. Lady from customer support said "all fine, look. The laptop is in the warehouse and it's ready to be shipped on time". 2 weeks passed, the day has come and nothing, confirmation email, item still in process.
Contacted again, first through the chat, nothing (they even disconnected the chat). Contacted again through the email, no response, called again and guess what? They don't have a clue:)
I understand that my money or my satisfaction does not mean anything to this company, the same as money and satisfaction from all of the people who got screwed by them, according to the reviews on this site.
So…
If one item is advertised as in stock, by my understanding is that the laptop is completed and ready to be sold and shipped.
Why are people given wrong information on websites with shipping time and why are they being lied to by the agents?
Are you, as a company, not ashamed of the reviews you are getting and the way you treat customers?
For us, as an end user, explanations like "Multiple vendors are involved in fulfilment and other elements of a purchase" don't mean a $#*!, you are representative of Lenovo Ireland, and you are the one to take the responsibility. Only thing that matters to me is that once I Pay that the dates provided are respected and that I get what I paid for.
All in all. DON'T BUY FROM THEM ANYTHING, YOU WILL GET SCREWED!
Big cone river ireland collect money for avast, they set your computor, avast removed £69 with out me saying, there a con, and never return emails RUBBISH
They got me for an expensive 3 year renewal. I've tried to cancel the auto renewal but their quite good at sneaking charges on a card or on PayPal.
I took up Digital River / Beanstream with my volusion store.
I quite like the backend which is straightforward, the support from the advisors is freely available and the integration with Volusion was easy.
However if you are a UK user forget it! Digital River are new to the UK (2014) and it shows, basically the system is a fraud waiting to happen. And it happens.
The fraud prevention advertised is virtually none existent; I personally lost over £******* due to charge backs which appeared legitimate.
To put that into perspective the target chargeback for any business should be less than 1%, I had approximately 30% under Digital Rivers Payment Gateway.
I even called the Digital River team on one of the big orders and was assured that systems were in place to check data.
The Pre Authorisation does not however check data, it does not check name, it does not check address, it does not check which country the card was issued in, it does not check IP, it does not even check if it is a man or a woman.
The AVS – Address verification system does not work for UK users due to their banking partners! Who happen to be JP Morgan.
There is no current reason to use this system in the UK unless you want to lose your business.
Am I bitter – Oh Yes!
This has virtually shut down my business.
I ordered an antivirus called AVAST and they did answer all my concerns and delivered the software to me. Great job guys.
Yesterday these morons (myCommerce a Digital River Co.) called my mom, she's 80, and told her that her computer was at risk and needed to be updated. She is pretty sure they said they had something to do with Microsoft Security. Unfortunately, she allowed them to get into her computer. I am glad she has only basic stuff on her computer, no personal information. Since I am over three hours away I was unable to help her remove any downloaded software, I suggested she call one of her friends that are computer savy. She did not understand what she was getting into when they told her it would cost her $319.95. She said the rep barely spoke English, odd for a company based out of Minnesota. I immediately told my mom to cancel her credit card so nothing could be charged against it. Today she received an invoice for the $319.95, it showed she was buying "Twenty-user Type for Aiseesoft Blu-ray Ripper" WTF! I don't know what mom would even do with this software. I called them today to say that I did not want this charge to go through (knowing it wouldn't because of the canceled cc) because my mom did not need it. The person could barely explain to me what was going on. The rep said over and over that the charge would have to go through then I could call and they could refund the charge. Again WTF! This may be a large company but in my book they are scum because they prey on elderly people. I am finding out that this has happened more than once.
Disgusting company, long story short, never heard of it until I see it on my payment list what!? Nasty methods of authorized pay"
I bought AOMEI backuper Professional from this co. I bought a lifetime product key. I was able to do what I needed to, 6 weeks ago. I need to use the program again today. " Your Trial has Expired" I Uninstalled and reinstalled the program and used my Registration key, Copied directly from the email they sent, " Invalid registration key" I went to their site, to pull up my order and seek help

Digital River are the online seller in the UK of Lenovo computers so I ordered my computer through them. There is an initial dispatch time of 2-3 working days but I am a third year university student and called for an update on the second day because I really need a computer. These are the following lies I was told by the most useless customer service team I have ever come across:
1.) It would be ten days because it was coming from China and I would receive an email the next day.
2.) When no email arrived that it had been delayed for an extra 3 days and was coming from Europe.
3.) That it was further delayed by 2 days.
4.) That it was again delayed by a further 4 days (now due to be dispatched two weeks after the initial order.
5.) That it had been dispatched the previous Friday, the day that I was told that it would be delayed by 4 days. This included an email with tracking details for DHL which did not work. When DHL were called they said that this number was not a tracking number with them. They had no record of it at all!
6.) By this point I was more than furious and called back to ask what the hell was going on only to be told it had not been dispatched. When I asked where the tracking number came from I was told that they had no idea. I then asked to speak to a manager who would call me back within the hour. Four hours later I AGAIN called to ask about talking to a manager and was (quite rudely) told that the manager would call me tomorrow because 'they receive a lot of emails'.
Well NO WONDER they receive a lot of emails. They are officially the worst customer service team I have ever talked to. Not just oblivious but actively lying to customers. If the manager does call me back (which I doubt) I will be cancelling my order.
THEY MAKE YOU PAY 48 BUCKS CANADIAN TO TELL ME THEY CANT FIX THE PROBLEM WITH MY PHONE... THEN CHARGE ME 48 DOLLARS A MONTH UNAUTHORIZED
THIS IS A SCAM
As DR are accepted by Paypal I happily committed to purchasing my Crucial Memory via them and Paypal.
Well according to Crucial the memory has arrived in the destination country since July 20th 2020.
Tried contacting Crucial - they don't exist once they have your money, same for DR Ireland.
I did manage to have an online chat with someone from Crucial who told me the item was being shipped from the USA and due to covid might take a little longer, even though I pointed out that it "has arrived in destination country UK". I also pointed out that he was lying as the tracking information showed the original source being KOLN in Germany.
I have wasted hours trying to find an email address for Crucial/Micron and DR ie.
Finally found some through CEOEmail and Google searching.
It may only be £35.00 but to a pensioner that is food for the week.
Will also get Paypal involved now, but I believe they do not help if it is DR.
I have also initiated a RETURN process with Crucial even though I stated I HAVE NOT RECEIVED.
I have tried twice to cancel this and once again they have renewed it without my authorization. This morning I will be calling Consumers Affairs.
I bought this EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Professional (*******) but it was not useful and its not good software. No refund. It seems its scam
Imagine ordering a $2000 headset HD 800 S and not receiving confirmation email, order status / tracking number etc. WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH THESE PEOPLES SENNHEISER?
Beware of doing business with this company! First time I was cheated using PayPal system, maybe last.
They don't fulfil orders placed and their customer support provides no answers whatsoever - avoid any website that uses Digital River
I have been using Nuance Dragon for approx 15 years and I have never had a problem when ordering and receiving shipped items through Digital River Germany. On receiving numerous emails about upgrade for $129 Australian for Dragon Professional Individual 15 because there would no longer be support for my Dragon 2013 program. I checked prices online and decided this was a good deal. I made the payment on the 1 Sep 2018 which went through immediately but I could not download electronically days later, This order was through Digital River Ireland and I thought I have been scammed! During the promotional period I was able to get through to customer service which was a call centre in an Asian country who reassured me payment had not gone through and I would get notification when this happened. On 7 Sep payment went to a Commonwealth Bank in Sydney. To date I have not received the backup disc shipment and have had great difficulty getting through to customer service on 1300 and Sydney business numbers which go to an automated message about calling during business hours, which I was doing. I was able to log on and see my order and invoice but could not get through to shipping tracking using the same order number and password even after renewing my password. I finally got through on a 1300 number today and selected the non technically support option but got technical support which enabled me to get this number *******095 and was told to choose option 3. Finally got through to someone who took my details and said that item would be reshipped and would take up to 21 days... perhaps mail in coming on a cargo boat. The only other problem I have had with Digital River is 2 payments being taken out about 2012 and my bank reinstating the money to me, I have contacted my bank and informed them not to release any payments to this company. All I can say is buyer beware.
I ordered Lenovo laptop and DigitalRiver deals with delivery, I cancelled same day and still waiting for refund 3 months, horrible company!
Answer: I, too, was mysteriously debited by this company (whom I have never heard of). Now I must go through the inconvenient process of replacing the card, I suspect that this is, indeed, a scam!
