ZERO Stars. Think twice before you ship using DHL. They have zero accountability or regard for fixing issues. They give no protection or care if they are leaving customers out hundreds of dollars. I sent a package in December out through Staples by DHL. The package was going to Cabo San Lucas, it contained gifts (a valued name brand backpack, baby clothing, two Goorin Bros hats). The package was valuable and I ensured it to be safe. I paid over $200 to ship the package. The package arrived in Mexico and it was held in Queretaro, far from Cabo. Tracking said "shipping event". At that point - the receivers were told they needed an "import license" and had to hire a customs broker - I called DHL and they told me the items shipped were prohibited from being shipped into the country and gifts were inadmissible! Why wasn't I informed of this prior to shipping - I would have never shipped it!? THEN rather than sending the parcel back to me - it was held for a "period" of time, and tracking stated that an authorization request had been submitted to have the package DESTROYED! DESTROYED? Who authorized this request without contacting the shipper?!? Even with return address, email and contact phone numbers in this day and age? Customer service was of ZERO help, they said they made attempts to have the package removed from the "destroy bin" to no success. In this day and age this is ABSOLUTLY UNACCEPTABLE. I looks like the items were stolen in Mexico, or confiscated by customs - there is something seriously shady going on here. NOW Staples is trying to make an insurance claim for the value of the contents, and we are waiting. DHL - GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER. Your company is awful and embarrassing. What has transpired is unconscionable. Now I am out almost a thousand dollars!
No communication and totally inept. I would give them zero stars if that was an option. I have been importing packages several times a week since 2016 using DHL, UPS and Fedex and DHL takes the cake as the most unresponsive and uncaring shipping company I've ever dealt with.
Here is my most recent experience... and I have had dozens like it. My package was stopped by customs and additional information was needed. How does Dhl handle this? They don't tell me for several days that the shipment is being held. At this point I want to tell you about a few of DHl's rules that many don't know. After 4 days of a shipment being held in customs, Dhl will charge you $30 per day. If you're unable to get your package cleared within a 10 day period, they will return your shipment to the sender, incurring yet more charges. So I'm already several days in before they even reach out to me.
They reach out to me by sending me a generic cut and paste email requesting information. I respond by sending all the requested info.,. And silence. I don't hear back from them. I go ahead and call dhl (on hold for an hour) and am given a representative to communicate via email with. They send me the same generic email requesting information. I provide the info for the second time... more silence. I get no responses from the rep. I email her several times over a 2 day period... I need that shipment! No responses.
At this point were about 5 days in. Presumably, I'm now being charged $30 per day. I have done far above and beyond trying to provide information and get my shipment but no one seems to care.
So I email the original rep that I had spoken with before and cc the rep that he had assigned me and ask them why I haven't received any responses back and if there is any additional information they need... and I wait. No response. One day later I receive an email from yet another rep. It's obvious yet again that this is a generic cut and paste email... anyone want to guess what the email is requesting? Yep... the same information about my shipment that I have already provided 3 times now.
Obviously, one might deduce that perhaps there is a particular peace of specific info that they want, but because no one will actually communicate to me, I have absolutely no idea what that info might be. I have answered all of their questions to the fullest.
Just so you know, I'm not importing anything questionable. Its just proximity cards used with security systems.
This situation is still on going at the time of my writing. I'm now close to the 10 day mark and I have yet to have any real communication with Dhl. Just generic cut and paste emails requesting the same information. I'm at a total loss. I have people waiting on this shipment and I can't gett one single person at Dhl that will take responsibility and help me get this fixed. I'm done with Dhl. I will work with their competitors.
I ordered a package over a week in advance that was supposed to be a Mother's Day present thru a company that utilizes DHL. I was charged for express delivery for extra cushion in receiving my package on the date that I needed. As soon as I received confirmation from the company, I started to track my package thru DHL and also opted in to receive up to date text messages about the delivery. An express package that should have taken no more than 2-3 days has now taken over a week! IVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS WITH ANY OTHER DELIVERY SYSTEM. My package was in route for more than 2 days, they held it at a facility on 3 different occasions, it was stuck in a " delivery is scheduled for the next movement" phase for days without any further instruction on what that meant and to top it off their customer service is NOT available on weekends! So if you're unfortunate like I was, and need to speak to someone on even a Saturday morning ( which conveniently was one of the first days my package was on hold) then unfortunately that definitely won't happen. When I finally was able to reach someone on Monday morning, I kept getting vague answers and rude nonchalant responses especially from a so called Supervisor by the name of Jennifer employee ID 9204. I just wanted clarity on what was going on with my package and the only response was your package will arrive the next day. No empathy, no reason behind why the significant delay…just you will receive your package. This has ABSOLUTELY BEEN A NIGHTMARE! Please DO NOT USE this courier! Especially if you don't mind possibly never receiving your package. I finally got a call from one of the facilities and he was a nice gentlemen who finally admitted my package had so many delays because of short staff! All of that because of a shortage in staff and NO ONE from DHL Customer Service gave me that reason. A simple explanation and Customer Service dropped the ball. DHL really needs to buckle down and be more customer focused and hire better customer service there is way too much competition to act as if the people don't matter. I Will Never Use DHL and if a company i order something from utilizes there service…REFUND IMMEDIATELY
I chose DHL b coz my package is safe! When my package comming DHL message me to pick up my package.thats why I chose DHL.
It's taking more than a week to get from the manufacturer to the hand off To usps in the SAME CITY! Then it has to go across country too...

I ordered products via SHEIN on the 10 August 2022 and requested this be delivered to my home address in Fernie, BC, Canada as has been done in the past with previous SHEIN orders. This order was received and has been with Loomis since 19 September in Cranbrook, BC, Canada. I have been in Communicateiin with DHL ( who outsourced the delivery to Loomis) and Loomis since then to get it to Fernie but they say it's outs their delivery area. Why then did SHEIN and DHL use Loomis is they aren't capable of delivering to Fernie?

I bought an item in Germany on the 29th of may. It was delivered to dhl on the 1st of june and scanned.it was scanned on the 3rd of june and finally on the 07th of june at beladung Germany. I have had no updates since. When I contact dhl they tell me to talk with the seller. I want to know why I have to contact the seller when dhl have signed for this item, it is supposed to be in their hands and control and the seller has absolutely nothing to do with the item when they take control. They are lying and trying to put the blame on someone else. I want an investigation in to this mongrel pack of lying thieves so this does not keep happening. Ik had een "dezelfde dag" levering gekocht bij Gereedschapcentrum. Deze werd door DHL uitgevoerd en snel bevestigd maar na sluitingstijd van de klantenservice (zowel Gereedschapcentrum als DHL) kwam opeens de melding dat de zending vertraagd was en het 1 tot 2 werkdagen kon duren. Doordat zij de zending geupdate hadden naar "in de regio" kon de Gereedschapcenttum die niet meer terugroepen bleek bij telefonisch contact bij opening volgende werkdag. Als klant kregen wij verder geen update van DHL over de daadwerkelijke bezorgdag of tijd noch een telefoonnummer om te achterhalen wat we nu kunnen verwachten. Dit is al de zoveelste keer dat dit gebeurd bij een DHL zending. Webshops zouden moeten vermelden voorafgaand aan betalen bij wie zij transport inkopen zodat klanten weten waar ze aan toe zijn. Kies vooral niet voor optie DHL als je de zending ook tijdig wil ontvangen!

Answer: Difficult. Automated system. Rip off phone charges. Cost so far to track our parcel, possibly missing has been around £25 in phone charges. Still trying. They wont phone you back and yet it is their error.
