I purchased a suspension kit 2 years ago, the ball joints failed. In order to get the 10 year warranty, i need to pay for shipping both ways. If i order the parts again new it ships for free. It is actually cheaper to just order the parts new then ship the defective ones back and get the warranty parts. BE CAREFUL. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN. Products do not last.

Ordered parts for Corvette and was sent parts for Ford Mazda even though shipping label said was correct. Eighteen months later and a complaint to BBB, I have not received the right parts despite Detroit Axle rep agreed the wrong parts were sent, and asked for parts to be returned but would NOT pay for return shipping. Agreed to return wrong hubs AFTER the correct hubs were received.
Unresolved despite 14 communications over 18 months with broken promises.

Wheel bearing purchased and installed on 2015 Dodge Journey in June 2021. Failed August 2022 with 17,609 miles on it. Started making humming noise for about 4 days then completely fell apart. Luckily it happened in my driveway. I called Detroit Axle the first day it started humming to get it replaced under warranty. They said they would ship a new one right away. I just had to pay shipping. So I gave them my credit card number and the warranty order was placed. Needless to say; I did not get my wheel bearing in 3 to 5 business days. It took me 6 phone calls over a period of 3 weeks. Was hung up twice, was told the item was shipped and they would expedite it somehow even though it already shipped supposedly, then was told the Texas warehouse didn't have the part and it had to be shipped from the Michigan warehouse, then was told it was lost in the mail. They provided me with a tracking number the first and second time. I ended up checking with USPS and they never received the package to ship. Only a shipping label was printed. Both times. Third time around the item was actually shipped and I received it in 3 business days from the Texas ware house. They charged me $48 for shipping. So I called USPS again to ask how much shipping was on the item and was told shipping was $6.98. So Detroit Axel over charged me about $41 for shipping. Now I have another wheel bearing starting to make noise and am afraid I will have to go through the same fiasco. They eventually honor their 10year warranty but you have to pay for it and fight for it and take some verbal abuse and lying from customer service.

Defective Brake Rotors
November 16, 2022

Have bought numerous parts from them and more then half of them were defective parts I recently had issues with 2 rotors for 05 Honda CR-V and once installed both started making a banging noise when stopping I quickly same day purchased rotors from autozone which look different and once installed worked perfectly fine so there was no issue anywhere else besides the rotors from Detroit Axle are defective and not the right rotors and just called to return the item and was hung up on the first call after explaining and then second time was told I needed a certified mechanic to send them invoice sayin the rortors are not good like are u kidding me I bought the parts not a shop and the part they gave me is bs that's not fair I lose out on money for defective parts they sell I'm extremely upset and was willing to give business to this company but now I will longer keep buying and makin sure other people dont buy ur products unless this is fixed like it should be...

Buyers Beware
December 5, 2023

I placed a parts order with Detroit Axle on Sept. 22,2023, the total cost of the parts ordered was $542.01. I received my order on Sept. 25,2023. I turned the parts over to my mechanic on Sept. 26th. A day or so later my mechanic informed me that the CV axles and the upper control arms were not the correct parts for my truck. I checked my order and I had ordered the right parts but Detroit axle sent me the wrong parts. I told my mechanic to supply the the right parts of which he did. I picked up the wrong parts and started the process of returning them. Detroit Axle wanted me to ship them back at my expense (cost of over $125). I called Detroit Axle customer service and after much debate they agreed to cover the cost of the shipping. A few days later I received a notice that I had a refund of $146.16 when I should have received $311.01. Days later I received a refund letter from Amazon showing a Restocking fee of $164.85. That was the cost of the cv axles. Detroit Axle was allowed to steal my money. I have attached a copy of the statement sent to me by amazon.

Terrible, terrible service and responsibility. The saga begins in April 2018...

In one day, I order an axle, I pay for the axle, I get a shipping notice. Two weeks later, no axle. A good dozen hours on hold and many emails that are never responded to later, and lo, I learn someone got tape on the label and UPS couldn't scan it in. Instead of fixing this, they shelved it and left it unshipped. Finally, yet another week later, I receive the axle.

The axle is faulty.

Detroit Axle's solution - I must pay for a new one and pay shipping to return the faulty one. Except, weeks later, the new axle was never shipped despite taking my money, because they in fact never had the part. And the returned part - received and no refund made.

Another dozen hours on hold - during which time I spoke to four different people - and I am given a partial refund on the part that never shipped.

Another almost 20 hours on hold and more unanswered emails, about five weeks of after paying for the part that never shipped, I have finally been promised a refund all but about $30 odd dollars. I stress the promised. It hasn't been received yet.

In total, over 40 hours on hold and many emails to customer service ignored over the course of around four months just to end up with no axle and out money and time.

Order #******* so I purchased their kit to rebuild the front end of my 2015 caravan in Aug 2020. The first shock a bolt breaks off at the top when tighten it due to metal impurity. No problem the sent me a new one quickly. 2.5 years later they are both making noise and the passenger one whining like it's the steering rack. So I pull it out. It's bent. Then the fun begins with these jokers. Both are shot and they tell me the warranty only applies to one piece of the kit. Then he continues to say they will need the bill from a licensed shop that replaced them. ( it takes 5 bolts to install these) They arent interested in honoring any warranties they are just interested in taking your money and keeping it at all costs as the roadblocks they have to get warranty satisfaction would mean your car is off the road for a week or more. This is all after 40k miles on their 10 year warranty. If by any chance Detroit axle reads this here is the deal.
Not everyone is a criminal, people everyday put their trust in you to furnish parts for their vehicles if they fail there should be zero roadblocks in getting them replaced. It's how good reputations are built and how you get to 3 or 4 stars on reviews up from less than two like you have.

I purchased a transmission for my 2013 Dodge Caravan. Warranty is 3 years, unlimited miles. After only 12K miles my transmission needs replaced. Everyday for over a week we have called just to be asked the same repetitive questions: have you checked the fluid, what codes are showing... then we keep being told this info will be sent to the tech. I am already out my personal vehicle plus the cost of a rental car. So I called again today to be told this could take weeks that I am routed to a call center in Texas that cannot give me an actual direct number nor a corporate number. There's other reviews from dissatisfied customers and the owner listed a number to call him. We tried that only to go through the same issue and still no return phone call, no emails; nothing but the runaround. I will NEVER purchase nor recommend anyone to go through Detroit Axel. I have since found out they're also not accredited by the BBB. If you want to get ripped off, receive poor customer service and excuses instead of your warranty honored then this is the place for you.

I ordered drilled and slotted roters and pads for my car all the way around. When i had the parts installed by a certified mechanic they squeeked. I was told they just needed to be worn in. I waited a month, called them back they warranted out the front but only sent me the roters when i asked for both the roters and pads. I've been calling them for yet another month promised twice id be called back after they listened to my call to "see if i actually asked for the brake pads" and never was. After calling them several times after their lies they claimed they listened to the call then get back on the phone and proceed to tell me i never asked for them when i did. Now mind you the brakes were on a six month warranty and they act like im not entitled to my warranty and im well within the timeframe. It appears based on the other reviews this company sells garbage parts and has horrible customer service. I would not recommend this company to anyone and as a matter of fact the mechanic that used to order parts from them will no longer be using them either. This company is trash and rape people of their hard earned money.

Ordered cv joints for my wife's car. I received an Email stating they had been shipped but tracking number stated only a shipping label had been generated. 5 days went by with the same problem so I called customer service who said that they would make sure the axles would ship next day. 3 days go by and customer service still gives me the run around so I asked to have my money refunded and cancel the order if not shipped in 24 hours. Called back the next day and they had already started to cancel the order. I told the rep that I was not happy and it was unfortunate because I had very good luck with DA in the past but couldn't continue to do business with them if this was going to happen again. ALLEN (stage name probably) said "the world doesn't stop because you didn't get your parts". Then went on to say that they will be in business long after losing your business so it dont matter to him". Then he hung up. I called back to get his name and the rep gave me his name then explained that the parts were on back order for two weeks which is why the delay. I calmly said if someone would've said that to me in the first place, all of this could've been avoided. When I asked him to generate an email confirming I canceled the order and wanted my money back he said it is all automated and I should get one once the refund was placed. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH DETROIT AXLE unless you know you won't have to deal with customer service.

Worst company on the planet
December 26, 2023
Updated review

This is my prep to file a complaint with Amazon:

Product Condition: The remanufactured rack and pinion do NOT meet OEM standards. The quality of the workmanship and the internal components are inferior. It may meet fit standards but does not meet reliability and performance standards!
Poor Customer Service: Detroit Axle has an "F" rating with the BBB. They are known by many to have not just poor customer service but more like horrendous customer service. Even in your own Amazon reviews you can see a pattern of neglect. This neglect is spread to Amazon by your willingness to provide a seller platform.
Suspicious Reviews: I see a pattern where Detroit Axle is selling a product, the reviews look acceptable. Amazon (3.3 of 24) (eBay 99.7%) However, if you look at 3rd party sites not selling their products such as the BBB 2.39 stars out of 5 and Site Jabber 1.5 stars out of 5, you will see a rating much lower. It is my opinion that Detroit Axle has inflated their reviews on sites where they have a selling presence.
Customer Trust and Reputation: Due to my experience with Detroit Axle I have absolutely no trust in them producing anything with recognizable quality. As for reputation, The Better Business Bureau says it all with their "F" rating.
Reputation in business is everything. Amazon has probably spent billions of dollars building a top tier reputation. Who you, as a company associate with, can cause irreparable damage.
It is my opinion that Detroit Axle does not meet the minimum reputation standards of Amazon and should have all sales suspended and removed from your platform.

THIS BUSINESS HAS AN "F" RATING WITH BBB.
In December 2021 I purchased a rack & pinion assembly for my SUV. It cost 165.00 plus about $480 installation. July 2022, seven months later, the new unit was leaking fluid and had to be replaced. It had a lifetime warranty, but I had to pay the shipping on the ~40lb assembly.
Again, I had to pay the $480 installation. Now September 2023 is 14 months later and the part is exhibiting the exact same failure. Spewing fluid making it extremely hazardous to drive the vehicle. I have lost faith in Detroit Axle and do not believe the quality standards align with industry standards.
The likelihood of having 2 units with the exacts same failure mode only demonstrates a lack of quality control. I have lost faith in them and requested a refund and was told there would be no refund. I have spent over $1,000.00 so far and am no further ahead than when I started.
In my opinion, this company preys on people in need then sells "cheap" inferior products throu Ebay and Amazon hoping the customers just moves on.

It is no surprise the BBB gives them an "F" rating, The lowest grade possible! I am really surprised that some of your retail partners, Amazon or Walmart even consider your products with an "F" reputation. Perhaps they are not aware?
