Baddd Customer Svc & Defective parts
July 17, 2023

Paid for new brake drums and brake shoes and received the parts via FedEX. Then made an appointment at my repair shop for service and labor of my new supplied parts, The shop owner agreed to install my new brake parts then made the proper adjustments and took my car for road test to check if rear brakes were performing correctly and the tech returned saying the brakes are failing to work correctly. I requested the shop to remove the defective parts and they did, used the old parts which were safe and working correctly. Paid nearly $58.00 to detroit axel for new parts and they closed the return parts window 30 days from paid for parts, so paid May 25 2023 Fedx delivered new parts on May 27 2023 late in the day. I then made an appt to service my car and the soonest shop could work on was June 28 2023 and the brake parts failed to perform correctly so on June 29 2023 called DAxel mentioned the new parrts are defective and they told me they will ship the replacement parts to me and that I am responsible to pay the $25.00 shipping charge due to the return window being closed and the parts were no longer new or resellable. Told em that the road test had to be performed to confirm if new parts were functioning correctly and the new parts FAILED the road test. Horrible company and customer service. 1-2 days past return window and bought other stuff from DA also. Mentioned not my responsibility to cover shipping charges for replacement parts and they said its their policy no charge for warranty parts but the shipping charges were customers obligation. I did not agree with this and am sparing most of the negative procedures that DA adheres to. Bottom line keep your money and if you have to service your ride than avoid buying anything from DA. Worst customer svc ever and company policies are corrupted thinking. Purchased the parts on eBay and my experience with eBay went well, but the vendor Detroit Axel makes bad decisions and the customer service rep was just as lame askig me what the defect and i said the parts failed road test and car went in for service not diagnostics and at $100.00 per labor, i was not going topay shop to diagnose which brake parts were defective but that parts were new not used and should have worked correctly. But some times new parts are defective from time ---- time

The images attached here are of the new parts and boxes that parts arrived to me in.

The proof of purchase is the invoice for the labor to install the new supplied parts and no new parts were supplied by repair shop so only reeipt for labor charges were produced

Tip for consumers:

Now am stuck with defective new rear brake drums and shoes and not looking for a credit as they have nothing else of use to me now or in future. Just want a full refund on the defective brake components

Products used:

reused the old shoes & brake drums which were still 70% good for brake shoe life of service remaining and the brake drums were new when installed with the last rear brake job done 5yrs ago

Detroit Axle sending out poor quality and unsafe parts
July 12, 2023

Beware, Beware, Beware of the poor quality parts that Detroit Axle sends out to customers. I ordered a rack and pinion steering assembly for my 2006 Impala in May 2023. It was listed online as a rebuilt assembly with all new internal parts with a limited lifetime warranty. Once the R/S was delivered to my home I had it installed by a local auto repair shop. Once the R/S was installed I received a call from the repair shop owner who stated when he started do the wheel alignment the R/S was frozen so he could not complete the alignment process. On the shop receipt he stated that the R/S was bad and needed to be replaced with another R/S assembly. I was extremely upset because I had to pay $530.00 for the installation of the R/S. I had initially brought the Detroit Axle R/S assembly through EBay. I sent out a text message to both EBay and Detroit Axle customer service and simply got the run around because no one wanted to take any action. While waiting to get some form of feedback from Detroit Axle and EBay I took my vehicle to a local Firestone to have them analyze the R/S problem. They also tried to conduct an alignment check and concurred that the R/S for frozen and that the wheel alignment could not be complete. I sent an updated text message to Detroit Axle customer service explaining that a second repair organization had found the same problem with the R/S that the original auto repair shop had found. In my comments I stated to Detroit Axle that they needed to send me another axle and reimburse me for the installation cost since the newly installed R/S was bad prior to installation. Detroit Axle then asked me to upload both repair receipts from each shop involved and so I did. A couple of days later I received a text message from Detroit Axle asking me to return the bad R/S and after a three day inspection they would refund my money. To me this was an outright slap in the face by a cut throat company. So what they want me to do is pay another $530.00 to have the newly installed bad R/S assembly removed and sent back to Detroit Axle. What a complete joke. Anyone who knows anything about working on vehicles knows removing and replacing a rack and pinion assembly is a major repair. The R/S assembly that Detroit Axle sent me is not only frozen but it is binding when you turn corners and making a clunking sound when you move the wheel either to the left or right. This company is putting out unsafe repair components so my advice to all customers is DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM DETROIT AXLE. I SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS ON DETROIT AXLE BECAUSE THERE WERE 114 INDIVIDUALS THAT GAVE THE COMPANY A NEGATIVE ONE STAR OUT OF FIVE. I ALSO READ NUMEROUS PAGES OF COMPALINTS FILED AGAINST DETROIT AXLE VIA THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.HOW IS THIS COMPANY STILL IN BUSINESS?

Horrible Company/ anti american owner
August 7, 2020

Worse customer service I have ever encountered. Was attempting to rebuild a truck for a wounded vet, emailed them thru ebay and directly at *******@detroita…. 31/2 months over 60 email requests for tech questions never a single response back.
Called customer service, put on hold for hours, call never answered.

That includes emailing several V. P.'s and the CEO Musheinesh, all emails open and read according to read receipt, not a single person has ever responded, tried to help or even acknowledged the questions. Not even a courtsey response.

I run a wounded vet blog, and after posting about it got 10's of thousands of comments from others with the same complaints. And just like me left an ebay review that mysteriously got deleted, and no longer is visible. So thousands have bought, complained, or been unsatisfied, left reviews,,, but somehow other buyers dont get to see it.

So it is obvious the employees spend more time disputing bad reviews than answering customers questions. No company on ebay can have not a single bad review. Clearly its faked.

So join the boycott, and do not do business with Detroit Axle, you cannot trust the reviews and ratings. If you support our troops than support our troops boycott of Detroit Axle.

Watch for their automated bot to answer:

Below is your standard answer and reply, so you can avoid answering in writing for all to see. Funny how you can reply to me to call, but still didnt answer the original emails or anything to that effect.

Till you take the time to find and answer the original emails The protest keeps going, and I am expanding it to numerous other wounded warrior blogs.

Instead of actually having a person even review and answer the complaints and bad reviews on here, you have an automated bot answer all the reviews according to the star rating. I can post a BAD review but put 5stars and your auto system will thank me for it.

Google should stop these automated answers

Watch this review will get the same "business response" as shown below

Business Response:

Thank you for providing your feedback and letting us know about this issue, David. We aim for five-star performance and apologize for your negative experience. Please get in touch with us on *******255 and we'd be happy to help you out.

Biggest rip off company there is!
March 22, 2020

In October 10/1/19 to be exact I ordered a rebuilt transmission for my mom's 02 Ford Explorer as we had just bought for $2500 not knowing the transmission was needed to be fixed.
After reviewing the Detroit Axle website and seeing everything they claimed to replace to ensure a quality product to their customer I purchased one for $1,380 they sent out conformation of our money and responded the next day with a tracking # but the tracking number didn't work. So I contacted them to find out what was happening as their shipping number was showing no shipment by the # in their system. After 10 days and multiple emails and them finally I sent a threatening email they sent out a transmission 6 hours later that same day. Wow some one dropped the ball but no one would admit fault from them.
By the time the order was received it had been nearly a month and now we had to beg out repair shop to keep my mom's vehicle as they have limited space.
It cost mom $1100 to have the transmission put in (our cost) but something was wrong as the mechanics couldn't get the vehicle to shift or engage for movement. Our repair shop worked on it for 2 weeks before finally asking us to contact Detroit Axle for tech support. That took a week to get a response and another threatening voice mail. Their tech called our shop and after an hour or so agreed to replace the transmission as Detroit Axle sent out a bad transmission. First of all how does this happen when they guarantee they test and replace almost all internal parts?
We waited for 3 more weeks for a replacement transmission to the first they sent out that wasn't repaired properly as they claim. This now working on 11 weeks from the original order date. NOTHING!
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
I'M NOW WORKING TO GET MY MOM'S MONEY BACK at 83 years old, limited founds she had to come up with $5,000 for a local rebuilt transmission because Detroit Axle deliberately screwed us over. Now please understand Detroit Axle has never reached out to us ask9ng how everything has worked out if we were happy with the purchase, nothing!
Any correspondence with them was sent from me first.
Please stay away from this company do not spend your money here they are rated an F+ by the BBB as the BBB chooses not to support them in any way as they have had way too many complaints and lack of follow through.
We are now on the process of getting our money back or take them to court. Plus file additional charges with the attorney general's office in the state of Michigan.
Would you want a company to treat you, your family member, mother or father this way when you simply wanted a positive, honest sales transaction?
Pictured below it's where the transmission sits, in the back of my truck until they give us our money back as exhibit A.
Let's remember they took our money fast as can artists we feel they are.
