I have used various companies computer. But now I am using a Dell laptop n5040 for half a year and I am almost happy with it. It is my first laptop, in past I always had only desktops as I didn't believe that a laptop can be as fast and user-friendly as desktops. Of course, I understand that laptops have many benefits but I am old-fashioned in that point.
First of all, I was charmed with the design of that laptop, may be this is just because I like shining things :) Later I also realized that it is a perfect device on the road and on vacation. It has never failed me when I had to do some work being out of office and the quality of graphics and sound is perfect for watching movies and videos.
Now I use it everyday to email, work online, browse the web and just having fun. It is fast, reliable and perfect-sized.
I was disappointed when I found that my laptop does not have bluetooth, it is very strange as now every computer has blutooth in-built. Besides it doesn't have the number pad which is quite inconvenient. One more issue it is that sometimes Enter button does not work well but it is a short-time problem. Anyway, I think it is a great laptop for work and travel at an affordable price.
Dell sold me a refurbished laptop for the price of a new one. The new one had screen problems so they sent me a refurbished one without giving me a discount.
I have a dell and the same thing happened as my last computer the side of the screen cracked. The bottom right side of the plastic cracked because of lifting the screen from one side,
Have purchased dells for 35 years. Finally need to use service contracts that I have paid thousands for over the years. They set up a meeting time/place for tech to arrive and I stayed home for the day. Tech no show. Called at end of day and said they need to show tomorrow - agreed on 1130am. No show. Called to reschedule and I said no thanks. They said they could come now but forgot parts. Called dell and told them I needed a different tech. Battery not charging, they sent battery, no instructions, no comm, no call. I researched and installed myself, no fix. They sent battery charge cord, no fix. I called them and they said the parts were not even in until yesterday. I asked why I took 3 days off of work if the first tech didn't even have the parts. I asked for a refund on my service contract plus interest for value of the money today. Person on phone said they would check into it and call me if they needed something. I asked when I would receive contact regarding the refund. He said he didn't know that I even would because it's a whole different department. I guess a 35 years purchaser of personal and business computers for multiple businesses is no longer important to them. I will never buy a dell computer again.
Please dont buy this. Ridiculous, worst laptop ever used. Very slow in performance. After increasing ram and ssd installation still creating problems... i request dont ever purchase this $#*!y laptop
They credit scored my business without consent. The response was to blame others even though i had a recorded call stating otherwise. Man up Dell and take responsibility for your appalling service

I am discussing, specifically, their consumer brand. I had made a purchase on the 7th and had opted to specifically get it here as soon as possible. Today is the date the item is supposed to arrive, thus I check to see where the tracking information is. No tracking information. I check the order status. No order status. Still says it is processing without any estimate as to when it will be done processing. No email explaining the delay, but since I actually specifically chose to have this be the fastest delivery, there is the assumption there that I need it quickly or I don't need it at all. There is nowhere to edit the order, to cancel the order, and I cannot get SUPPORT for the order at all because the order hasn't actually been processed, for whatever reason they are just not doing anything. This isn't the first time they have just completely failed in their duties as an online store for myself, and seeing other reviews out there, I would highly recommend that buyers look elsewhere when they are considering a purchase of any type of electronic.
I bought a Dell XPS 9500 and within two years the battery started swelling, then bought a replacement in July of last year (56wh) and noticed the battery life was less than an hour without my charger. I called the company several times about replacing my battery (which was and still is in warranty), but kept on getting transferred between tech support and customer care. Every time I called, I could expect myself getting transferred 10+ times to the same two departments with no solution in sight. I must've spent 10 hours on the phone (cumulatively) before I asked to speak to a manager. I arranged a callback which I never got, and called a day later to schedule another one for today. I was told the manager would call me in 2 hours, but then was told that due to a system glitch, he would have to call me this morning between 10:30 - 12:30PM. Eventually the time came and... nobody called.
Lessons learned: 1. Dell can't keep a single promise. I haven't gotten any call backs and have literally gotten hung up on by one of their managers. 2. Batteries are supposed to last 4 years, not blow up in 2 (I use my laptop normally). 3. At this point I really just want a refund so I can use my $100 to purchase a non-Dell product and get out of this ecosystem. Thanks but no thanks Dell, goodbye!
I bought a laptop directly from Alienware.com with price of maximum configuration about $3700. I was satisfied with performance and general look of this laptop, but after 3 days my machine starts rebooting every 3 min. I called customer support and they solved the problem. Reboots were caused by Dell Assist app, so I just uninstalled it.
Then I had issue with customer support representative. After about 1.5 months after purchase I got call from dell customer support and this guy tried to get my gift card information from me. He forced me to forward email with my personal information to him. I called customer support and explained that guy from CS tried to steal my money and this is fraud. But nobody helped me, call was dropped each time. In total I spent about 4 hours during 2 days holding on the line with no results. Each time I explained my case, I heard works: "I'm sorry about your complain, please hold on the line, I will transfer your call to another department..." and that's it! After about 1 hr of listening to music call gets dropped. I wrote several emails, but no response yet.
This is the worst customer support experience I've ever had.
I like my Alienware 17 R3 laptop this is great computer with awesome performance, but I will NEVER buy Dell products because of horrible customer support. I paid about $150 per year for premium support and it is definitely does not worth that money.
P.S. I have all recordings of every phone call and emails from this guy, so I'm going to file a police report regarding fraud attempt from Dell customer representative.
This is the worst product I bought in my entire life. The company should be shut down. The hard drive needed to be replaced, the internet car replaced, the charger not working, and the lap it heating up a possible fire hazard. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. IT IS GARBADGE. I bought it in sept. Never used it, needed it for school and started it up, and it was a piece of garbage I had two techs come twice to fix it, and it is still not working, DO NOT BUY THIS GARBADGE.
Dell Support is simply terrible.
They just follow a script of what to do next, reinstall drivers, reinstall applications, reinstall OS (!) (Twice) without actually trying to understand what the problem is.
I had two issues
One was that the 3.5mm jack on my new Dell did not work. As mentioned, they had me reinstall drivers, audio software and yes, even the OS. Nothing fixed it. They even replaced the motherboard with a new one and when the tech left and the computer was restarted, it was DEAD. So, another motherboard replacement.
After nothing worked, they were kind enough to replace the system with a refurbished one 4 months after purchasing a brand new computer and dealing with support for a few months. They did not even replace it with a new computer. Even on the replacement the 3.5mm jack does not work. I bought a USB headset and solved the problem differently. My Bose headphones will just have to be put away in a closet.
2nd issue was text jumping up and in MS Outlook, again after reinstalling software they wanted to again reinstall the OS. I said no.
The amount of time that I have spent and the loss of productivity is immeasurable.
Lack of thought and initiative to actually solve something, and definitely looking out for the bottom line when it comes to replacing a system with one that actually works.
I hope saving some money on this one computer was worth it to Dell because they lost a customer for life
I have Dell latitude 5590 core I3, the product is poor with windows 10, hanging more of the time when through the windows updates and after the updates
My two Dell computers are great. However I will never buy another Dell computer because of the relentless McAfee pop ups that I can't get rid of no matter how hard I try.
I work for the biggest Research institute in Israel. We bought a very sophisticated robot from a Polish company for more the *******$. The system is run by a Dell computer and was installed about 6 month ago. Everything is under warrenty. An outside technician came to fix a problem in the robot yesterday and the Dell computer crashed down.
It turned out that we need to transfer ownership from Poland to Israel and this process takes TWO WEEKS. This is shuffling paperwork through Dell company bureaucracy. This fits the middle ages when you ran a grocery store with books. Have DELL heard about COMPUTERS and EMAIL?
Furthermore, until this paperwork process is not completed I can't place a call to fix the computer. I don't know how much time that will take and I can't call the robot technician to check my system.
Is DELL trying to shut down the research in my institute? I am sure that my institute buys a lot of computers and how DELL are going to solve this issue will effect future purchases.
The Dell products are very good... All the electronics from dells I have had a good experience... No complain againsf dells electronic... The laptops from dells are very good... Thanks dell
Dell Customer Support (both telephone and chat) are woefully deficient.
I called to ask a simple question, "What device can I buy to have installed on my Inspirion 3880 that will read/write for CD/DVD/Blue Ray."
When I bought this unit three months ago, I was shocked that this function was deliberately left out of the PC.
But, Geek Squad assured me that I could find a unit if I looked on the internet. I learned quickly that the info on the internet chat rooms wasn't always accurate so I went directly to Dell.com.
When I called, getting through the computerized screening was a royal pain in the $#*!.
When I was finally able to speak with a human being, I literally could NOT understand a single word he was saying and he was obviously in a hurry for some reason. The attempt was a complete failure.
So, I went back to the chat function on the Dell website. That also was a total failure.
Why? The so-called technician insisted I had to ask my question to one of their technicians when I called in. I shared my experience with him and the chat ended.
Dell management has created a system of customer service support that appears to be competely dysfunctional.
It's an absolute piece of $#*! my warranty expired right before a month and now they are asking to pay 300$ for a motherboard. This is horrible.
DO NOT BUY A DELL COMPUTER unless you want to spend 3-4 hours 2-3xs per week With a Dell Techincal Support. I have had my computer for 18 months and I have made 20 technical support calls and had 1 technician come out to fix it. But it's always a temporarily fix since the computer stops working over and over again. I depend on my computer for nursing school, and I have asked for a replacement since month#1, but they refuse to fix it or send me the parts and ALWAYS REFUSE TO REPLACE IT. They prefer to waste my time and theirs trying to fix it, and the only one hurting is me. I had to stop my online nursing degree since I don't have a working computer. Thank you Dell - for not helping me when I most need it.
My dell g3 3590 was almost a thousand dollars. It is such a cheaply made piece of junk, if you press just a single key the keyboard flexed and since new the enire thing would creak and squeak, and was very flimsy. Then the super fragile junk hinge broke. I called dell warranty to have it fixed and i sent it in for repair but their computer system is garbage so the repair case is open but the warranty service got canceled and this all happened within the last weeks of warranty. Dell wants me to resend them the laptop in a new box and label but fed ex has it. They told me to call fed ex to have it returned to the office. I called fed ex and only dell is allowed to return it to me since dell restricted it. I called dell perfectly explaining everything and they have no idea what to do and they transferred me in a full circle around their "customer support" or lack thereof. By the time i get it back so i can resend it the warranty would've expired which is what i know they planned for. I was on the line waiting for almost an hour on hold and they just hung up. Don't ever buy a dell, such an expensive piece of cheap junk with zero warranty support. Negative 10 stars is a generous rating.
Answer: Not upto the mark... felt few hadrware technician are newly appointed were not ble to understand as well as answer the query.
Answer: Cause dell is a complete scam. I regret buying one. Wasted almost a thousand dollars.
Answer: I did. I bought a machine that had hardware issues right out of the box and returned it within the 30-day window. They refunded me 100% of what I'd paid, no problem.
Dell has a rating of 1.6 stars from 538 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Dell most frequently mention customer service, tech support and hard drive. Dell ranks 184th among Computer sites.
