“Great Customer Service”

Just wanted to note my sincere appreciation to the customer service department for their help. The person who assisted me was very kind and professional (issue was also resolved). I'm new with the app so I can't comment too much on that….yet.

“Terrible streaming service”

I subscribed to Crave and cancelled my subscription the next day. I purchased the $9.99 package with ads but the ads literally cut in right in mid-sentence and are 50x louder than the show. Very annoying to say the least. I assume that it's Crave's way of getting you to pay more for their ad-less subscription but no thank you. I pay $5.99 for Netflix with ads but you may not see one the entire show and if you do it may be a couple 45 min in, and certainly not when someone's in the middle of a sentence! Crave TV is a joke.

I have been using Crave since back when it was Movie Central. Crave has really gone down hill and I will most likely have no choice but to have them removed from my provider. Pricing is way to expensive for this kind of quality. Hollywood Suite is a very good alternative which I spend more time on than Crave. Sorry Crave you have really let me down.

Tip for consumers:
CRAVE has really gone down hill, try Hollywood Suite if you live in Canada.

Products used:
HD BOX. HIGH SPEED INTERNET & LANDLINE through my provider

I subscribe to TMN & HBO and now have to use crave tv to watch online. I never thought id say this about anything, but Crave is worse than the TMNGo site! It logs you out after every episode and when you log back in, it starts you off at episode 1 again. Also, you have to visit multiple pages that load super slowly in order to log in; even their homepage takes about a minute of loading before you can search or click on anything. Other than that, the shows are pretty good... I just wish it weren't so hard to actually watch them.

The site has a lot of good shows and movies that I quite enjoy, which is why I keep coming back (especially when friends was removed from netflix) However, the site itself is probably the worse streaming site I've ever used. Very buggy, your watch list hardly shows up and if it does, it sometimes makes you lose the episode you were on and puts you back to season 1 - episode 1.
Search bar itself doesn't always work either.
Definitely not worth the price, regardless of the shows.

Need more meaningful dramas and tv shows added more regularly. Also only have one season for shows such as Power that have had many seasons. What's the point of only buying one season of a 4 season show?

Now that Crave has added HBO current programming (for almost double the price of the original membership), they are also holding HBO seasons back that aired years ago not just current season HBO. Eg Season 3-5 blocked unless you have the new HBO plus membership.

Small pet peeve - can't control program through remote (like you can with Netflix) when casting to your tv. Have to use the ap which is painful.

Lastly why do they keep raising prices... If you're not pricing in line with Netflix who is regularly adding more product and seasons, your future is bleak.

I tried to include my review & rating on crave tv when their ap prompted me to rate but they wouldn't accept it. (Likely bc of low star rating).

It would be worth if if the price was not going up... this just the start of pricing creep... everyone needs to cancel accounts and make them stop... we all know how these big companies do things... they start low... give crappier and crappier services at the same time creeping the price up quickly... i can cancelled already If you cant find something to watch on the internet without paying ridiculous prices with the same creeping up of prices then you are lost.

Very much behind, technology wise... would be nice to make a playlist, search doesn't work well and for a week, I was watching Blue Bloods seasons 1-9 and got to season 9 ep. 6 and then it's GONE! Only current season on CTV on demand. Very poor selection of entire seasons of shows... same shows playing reruns on regular TV. I have Crave through Bell for the convenience of one bill but seriously thinking of going another route to get more selection, playlist and worth the $$... CRAVE IS NOT WORTH IT! GET WITH THE TIMES!

The selection is amazing but the TV version is terrible to navigate. Also new episodes show up on the phone app but not on the TV version.
Crave has potential but definitely needs improvement

Oh what a surprise - a Canadian version of a successful concept that's nowhere near as good as all the other options out there. Horrible interface - I have a brand new, Samsung 4K TV, so it's not the TV - can't fast forward or rewind programmes, if you put a programme in your "My Cravings " section, you can ONLY watch the next episode. If you want to watch a different episode, you have to search for the series all over again. The screen dims and stays dim after the first episode finishes, so you have to watch a dimmed next episode unless you want to stop it and research the series all over again. Don't support this. Hopefully it will go out of business and be a valuable lesson to Canadian businesses wanting to compete in this highly competitive market. Either come correct or don't bother, Crave.

I find it really expensive for its quality, yes it has good movies and classics but it is really slow and I hate the fast forward method, feels so old and slow for its price. Crave should improve its interface because it has a lot of potential but Netflix it's still the best one in price-quality

So annoying, it seems to get worse. I have the latest PVR's so that excuse doesn't work. I have two brand new TVs, one Sharp, the other Samsung so they can't blame the TVs. All of my other apps work no problem so that excuse is gone. My modem is the latest tech and my wifi is amazing so those excuses are out as well. I restart, unplug, wait two minutes and more, so those excuses are gone. Is it just a really bad service without all the amazing Netflix features like "continue watching " for twice the price? Is it about time that crave just gives up and should just sell to Netflix already? If I wasn't so deep into Billions, I'd cancel for sure.

I've been signed up with CraveTV for about a year now, since Netflix began blocking access to most of its catalogue for Canadians. Crave's selection of movies and shows is rather spotty. I stay signed up with them mainly because they carry all of the Star Trek shows (even the animated one) and Discovery. But, no Star Trek movies, and their entire movie collection leaves a LOT to be desired. Overall, their library is pretty puny especially when it comes to movies. They carry NO horror content at all.

Where CraveTV totally falls flat on its face is in the apps they provide so that viewers like me who don't have a cable subscription can still watch. The first problem is that they're only compatible with two types of device: Samsung SmartTV (but only 2013-15 versions) and Android/AppleTV apps. The Android only works with Chromecast.

Problem Number Two is - the apps SUCK. On my SmartTV, I can't pause or fast forward shows, which is a huge problem if a) I need to go to the bathroom or leave the room; b) the program freezes or the internet connection lags, both of which happen numerous times while watching one (1) hour of programming. The fact that I can't even pause playback, much less fast forward, rewind or stop is simple bush-league programming, obviously by chimps being paid in bananas.

The picture is terrible for the first 10 minutes of watching every program. It's like watching from the bottom of a swimming pool. Sound is even more of an embarrassment, and this goes on for the whole time I watch. I have to crank the volume up full blast to hear dialogue because the sound is like having my ears stuffed with mud, and then when music or sound effects occur, my speakers are blasted out. I miss a lot of important dialogue and even have to watch a show more than once to pick up what they're saying. I have a 5.1 surround system, and never have sound issues with any other input - just Crave. Another problem is that the app disables the Samsung sound settings while I'm connected to Crave, so I can't even try to make adjustments to improve the sound.

Connectivity is another horror show with CraveTV. As I mentioned before, the connection drops continually whether I use Wi-Fi to the TV or an Ethernet cable (I'm using the cable right now). The app locks up so badly that I have to unplug the TV from the wall and plug it back in to reboot the TV so I can restart the app. I've tried restarting the TV, restarting the modem, nothing stops the connection drops. The wi-fi to my laptop is on the whole time CraveTV is throwing its dropped connection tantrums. There is nothing wrong with my Rogers cable internet connection. There is nothing wrong with the internet connection to my TV, I've tested it infinite times. I went through all of this with a CraveTV rep, he knew less about troubleshooting than I did, and kept insisting the problem was either my equipment or my fault.

At first I thought all these problems were due to my TV Smart Hub software. After spending 2 hours last night trying to watch one entire episode of Star Trek, this morning I started looking into getting a Chromecast to see if it would help. Thank goodness I went in to Google Play first, to check the reviews of the CraveTV app used with Chromecast. 90% 1 star reviews, with all the same glitches and problems as I've been having with my Crave app for Samsung Smart TV! A lot of customers got so fed up they cancelled their subscriptions, only to come back a year or two later because they wanted to watch "Crave only" content like ST Discovery - and find that NOTHING has changed!

Clearly Crave's many problems are due to the fact that they chose to pay chimps in bananas to write their apps, instead of springing on human programmers. And based on the hundreds of angry bad reviews and complaints from customers, they know about these problems and have been refusing to do anything besides collecting people's money anyway and ignoring these issues. Oh, and blaming the customers and their devices for the lousy service instead of admitting it's a problem on their end. Much as I'd love to say "avoid these losers like the plague", they know that they have their audience by the short and curlies since Netflix went downhill, so they have no reason to show any loyalty or respect to their customers much less FIX THE PROBLEMS!

Launching the app, the screen takes a long time to load and this is on an iphoneXr

No AutoPlay so you constantly have to go back to your phone\tablet

The UI is horrid, clumsy to navigate, even setting up your list of titles to watch has WAY too many steps and overall lacking in basic features

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - I called with an issue\question and the Gentlemen' <- I use that lightly expressed a tone of irritation. My apologies sir for cause you to have to do your job

All Bell (Crave TV's Parent) had to do was cherry pick the best aspects of competing streaming services and then improve upon them. But it's as if they went about it the opposite way and implemented all the worst parts.

When I subbed to Crave in Dec '18(I left Netflix because of the Bobs Burgers thing), I had looked through their catalogue and said "okay not bad, they're always adding stuff I'm sure". Six months later and I have exhausted my interest and their catalogue! Click on "collections" and you'll see 'hundreds' of titles in the numbers displayed but if you actually count them, they fall wayyy short. Critically Acclaimed for example boasts 97 ITEMS but upon full count of the items one only gets to 33 just a hair over 1/3 of what is advertised

I have a 84" Samsung, less than a year old. Along with crave, I also have Amazon, and Netflix, which both work flawlessly. However, Crave gives me an error 50% of the time while switching episodes. The tech peeps tell me to unplug the tv, wait 10 secs, plug in, and try again. Great, I works, but only for a day or two. Essentially, I have to rearrange my furniture because the plug isn't easily accessible, every couple of days or so if I want to watch Crave seamlessly. I'm sure that I'll cancel Crave after ive finished watching GOT, and Southpark. Granted, they have some quality programming, but they cost more than Amazon and Netflix combined. My opinion is that the frustration outweighs the quality, and the quantity of Netflix and Amazon. Maybe I'll try again down the road, I love GOT and will want to watch again.

An okay selection, though you do have to make a monthly group purchase for almost all shows. Also the rewind and fast forward feature only shows the timestamp it will drop you in not the snapshot of the image or anything. Also it does not have a consistent continue watching feature the developers seems to spend their time push people towards those group purchases instead. All in all 4/10

You have to pay for the HBO +movies pack (coming to $20 a month with crave) just to get a decent amount of content. The watch list is limited to only 50 items and it auto removes things from your list when you've finished watching it, which is super irritating. It does have the latest movies for a limited time after release and some great shows though. Hard to justify the $20 with the crappy connection it seems to receive as well though. The app for chrome book is absolute garbage and no app for ps4 makes this a second rate app at best

The people who run this are a bunch of scammers and thieves. They look my money and refuse to refund me. I signed up for the 30 days free trial and cancelled my subscription on the 30th day. They said because I didn't cancel a day earlier that they charged me for the following month. How does that make sense. They stole my money and refused to give me a refund. Customer service is unprofessional and incompetent. I didn't even use their services and will never recommend them to anyone. Disgusted.

You have to physically figure out where you left off every time you go to watch Crave. It's a pain in the $#*!. Why can't they set up like Netflix or Prime where you easily start from where you left off. This was not meant for TV, at all.

So here I am not able to post a Google review. It seems impossible to do. So much for Google's "Don't Be Evil". A review on my local pizza place? NP. A review on a billion dollar company? NOT POSSIBLE. I shouldn't be surprised. So CRAVE has done a substantial offering upgrade. It includes HBO & Showtime & Movies. I am Impressed. It even seems worth the $22.+ per month. However, it gets dragged down by it's $#*!ty service. Literally. You have one job. Serve up videos at a good speed and good quality without buffering. For gosh sake you EJITS at BELL MEDIA... ADD SERVERS. Increase Bandwidth. Quit being so cheap and stupid. You have a good basic product. Service it. If you want to make Netflix $$$, GROW UP.
