Gwynnie Bee enjoys a generally favorable reputation among customers who appreciate the variety and quality of clothing, as well as the convenience of a rental model that allows for frequent wardrobe changes without significant financial commitment. Many users highlight the positive impact on their confidence and style exploration. However, concerns about slow shipping times, limited inventory, and challenges with cancelling subscriptions have been frequently mentioned. Additionally, customers have expressed frustration over unexpected charges and a lack of responsive support during issues. Overall, while the service has its strengths, addressing operational inefficiencies could enhance customer satisfaction.

This was a huge disappointment. I started a new job and got a "deal" thru GILT of nearly half off per month for the 1st 3 months. First big mistake, I did not need to pay to since the site itself had a one free month trial. One month is more than enough to see all their shortcomings. With all my diligence I got to have 6 dresses (3 dresses at a time) in one month so there is no value to this rental.
In detail
1. Pricing - Not a good value even at half price. They send people 1 to 3 dresses at a time and before returning them you can buy them at the moment price in their website. So if is a popular dress at a low price you will never see it.
2. Selection - Many choices are not available in your size, in fact there were 2 dresses I wanted that they had in only 2 sizes, which I suspect is due to people buying the dresses before one gets a chance to try them.
3. Quality- You will find moderately priced dresses. No Marina Rinaldi here. Nothing I could wear to an evening party.
4. Overall - skip this hype build your wardrobe thru sales at your favorite stores. One of the dresses was offered to me for about $59 after heavens knows how many loans. The same dress was on sale at my favorite store, brand new for $78 and I will watch for further markdowns
Suggestions to Gwynnie
1. Rent or sell. Rent for a season then hold end of season sales.
2. Improve your return - send process. I sent my dresses on Monday from FL and as off Friday customer service claimed they have not gotten it.
3. Have a separate high fashion and evening rental non-subscription which is probably what I could use the most.
Today, i received my 3 orders, and so far i am very happy with them, Thank you
I have been a member for about 4 months. Some of the clothing is very cute. I also like the idea of the subscription service. The problem is in the execution. For the price, there should be a much faster turn around time, and there needs to be many more outfit options. There seems to be a major issue in the supply of the clothing and the ability to send out new outfits within an appropriate timeline (again, for the price).
I've been a Gwynnie Bee member for about 4 months and I am really enjoying it. I have had no issues with the turnaround time on shipments as some others have experienced. In fact, I have been impressed with the promptness and reliability of the shipments so far. It is great to try new styles without having to buy them, and it's also very nice to be able to buy items that I really love. I've enjoyed how this service has expanded my work wardrobe and my style, and it's just a lot of fun! I took one star off because I think they can still work on adding more new styles frequently, having a big enough inventory so the new styles are actually available, and focusing a little less on dresses. Overall, I am glad I discovered Gwynnie Bee and I definitely recommend it!
Canceling my GwynnieBee membership after a year! I upgraded this month to 2 at a time, but I can't justify the expense when their processing times are so slow that it takes over a week to get stuff now, so I cut back down to one at a time. Come to find out they've raised their price to $52 a month instead of the $37 I was paying. I guess the change took effect in February. For $52/mo I can buy a new dress every month and they can keep it. They refused to honor my old price despite that I am clearly a longtime customer. Last month. Middle of July, they send me a sweater dress. A SWEATER IN JULY. Like, yes it was in my closet but other stuff was prioritized. Lots of other stuff and even so. Use a little common sense. Several times I've had to reach out to them because they just don't send stuff for forever. It's crazy.
They had a good idea but they're running it into the ground with shady business practices and poor customer service.
I can't say enough about Gwynnie Bee! The clothes are amazing, the customer service is great. What s great way to try different styles without breaking the bank! They have made dressing for work FUN and no longer a chore, always feeling like "I have nothing to wear!" Gwynnie Bee has definitely made me a fashionista!
I have been a customer since 2012. I have really loved this company at times but recently they have shown a marked slow down in shipments and horrible customer service. See the email below that I submitted regarding my most recent missing shipment issue.
Hello,
I'm writing because I because I did not receive the package sent to me on 8/5/16. According to the Gwynniebee site as well as the USPS website this package was undeliverable because of an incorrect address. Please follow this link
It is clear that the address sent by your company used the zip code ******* vs the correct ******* that has been part of my account for months and was the address that was correctly delivered to last week. The extremely nasty people I spoke to on the phone today from your company stated that it was my responsibility to call the post office to find out what happened. I was informed by the post office via the recorded line that there is no additional information that can be provide to me other than the mailing address was incorrect and this the package is undeliverable. The package will not be redelivered to me because it is currently being returned to YOUR address.
I am unclear why a subscription service would not make any effort to resolve or help resolve or take responsibility for this mistake. I would like my August 2016 fee returned or I would like an immediate shipment of another garment to my correct shipping address.
I'm including your buying an PR departments in this email because I want someone at your company to learn how horribly rude, inconsistent and unresponsive to your customers. Over the course of the hour, I was placed on hold for approx 20 minutes. A male rep put me on hold for 8 minutes and never returned to the phone. To make matters worse I received an email stating that my issue was "resolved" and "closed" and that I would get an email survey - which I never received.
I will NEVER recommend Gwynnie Bee to anyone! Their customer service department doesn't want to help you when you have an issue. They don't listen to what you have to say and doesn't take responsibility for THEIR errors! They don't care to keep your business so long as they have your money! Very disappointed with the way they handle customer issues!
Very dissatisfied EX customer,

I'm a professional working in California's Central Valley but with meetings in LA. I have loved my service. I've been able to try styles I would never have tried. If it comes out of the box (which is beautifully wrapped like you're getting a present). If you don't like it send it back. But if you love it, its magical. The sales have been especially fun. Where can you buy $25 dresses? I had surgery in February and lost a bunch of weight, as predicted post surgery, I gained it back plus - renting my dresses helped me avoid having to accomodate costly wardrobe replacement.
Yes some aren't good fits. But most are. And the best part - no postage wprry returning them. Throw them in a bag, slap the provided label on them and BUZZ you're done.

I have been a member of GB for exactly one year and I love it. I used to spend a great deal of money on clothes that I would only wear once or twice a month because I really love variety. GB has proven to be the perfect solution for me. I find the quality to be really good in general. But, like most women's clothing, there is a lack of consistency even within a single designer; even the size chart from the manufacturers can be off. All I do is send the piece back and then re-order a size up or down. I tend to be on the small side of the customer base (14) but find there to be a wealth of choices. I have to be honest, I don't see as many 10s as 14s but GB presents itself as a plus-size company and I know that there are other options for smaller sizes. Customer service, which I have only used a couple of times, has always been responsive and quick to address my concerns. For me, GB is a great service and has provided me with an affordable way to expand my wardrobe. With a 4 item program, I think I probably wear 12 different dresses/tops a month. My best advice for fast turn around is to go on to the web site and click the "return" button on the way to mailing your items. I do love this site and have recommended it to many people.
This company is not right. I called to cancel my membership in September of last year and they have been drafting money out of my account every month since then. When I called to get my money back, they keep telling me 24 hours. The money still has not been deposited into my account yet. To me, this is stealing from people and taking money we work hard for. We should all get together and fight to get our money back, and keep other people from making the same mistake.
At first, I thought the concept was great. Then I started noticing that they didn't have any clothes available in the smaller sizes and the quality of the clothes were either ok, or really poor and used up. So, I tried to cancel my account. For seven months, I had not received any charges, garments, bills, or other forms of communication (outside of their sales). Someone emailed me with a user name of Aksharma and told me I'm delinquent and owe almost $600 for services I didn't pay for for 7 months! And nobody every bothered to try to contact me. But also, why am I paying for 7 months of service when I wasn't even receiving any garments?!?! He was extremely rude and did not even try to understand/defend why they took so long to contact me. He just wanted my money ASAP. This company is shady! Stay away!
EDIT (7. 30. 2016)
A different customer service representative called me and was much nicer than the original guy who contacted me. She was willing to work with me and they reviewed my situation. They "officially" cancelled my account and I didn't owe the money. At least SOME people in the world are not unethical, money grubbers! However, after what I went through, I definitely would not recommend Gwynnie Bee to my friends.
The worst. I have been charged by them for two months. When I call and give all of my email addresses, they say I do not have an account. Paypal is no better, they them say their hands are tied and allow them to continue to take your money. Dont do it!
I've been a Gwynnie Bee member since November of last year. When I first signed up, the service was super fast and I tried a lot of great pieces out that I otherwise wouldn't have had access to. However, after a couple of months, the pieces I was receiving weren't working out. The fit was off or the quality was poor. After several unsuccessful shipments, I decided I'd cancel my membership. I called to cancel (as per the requirements) but the customer service rep offered another month at a 50% discount. I decided to give it one last shot. I received one additional shipment with some hit or miss items, then a great one from which I made a purchase. Now, as I sit four days after having returned my items, I STILL have not been shipped another box. I understand their turnaround is 2-3 business days - which it has been. Even before I called to cancel, I sent an email noting the slowdown in turnaround. While I appreciate their prompt response on customer service inquiries, I don't feel like anything is being done to rectify the slowness. Considering I'm a customer on the brink of discontinuing my service, you'd think they'd be quicker to act. As other reviews have noted, it seems that it's too good to be true in the beginning until they've "hooked" you. After this month, I'll definitely be canceling my service. It's just not worth it anymore. I had anticipated having a box by the end of this week for an event I'm attending this weekend. Sending my stuff back on Monday should've been enough time to accommodate this, but I guess I'm out of luck!
The clothes are amazing. It was so much fun to try new clothes for a day or a week or two and then return them.
HOWEVER, I ended up having a problem with my account, namely because I had to get a new card and forgot to update my account. This went on for a month and they NEVER once notified me of the problem. There was nothing on my Account Profile indicating a problem. There were no emails. I discovered the issue because I stopped receiving shipments. I was the one that had to email, that had to call. I ended up paying for weeks that I didn't actually use their service because I didn't know what the problem was.
If I am going to give you money for a service I need to trust that you will let me know if something is not correct. I can't trust you.
I signed up for the free trial. I couldn't find any tall sizes and the items were a lot of mini dresses which probably aren't a good idea if you're 6' tall and they aren't tall sizes. So I emailed to cancel my subscription using their online form. I did not hear back. After a few months, I found out they had been charging my card this whole time. I again emailed them to cancel and did not hear back. My account was charged again. Since it was through Paypal, I opened a Paypal complaint to try to get a refund. Again, there was no response. They just tried to charge my account today AGAIN.
For the record, at no time did I order any clothing. I advise you not to sign up because unsubscribing is impossible.

UPDATE: Changed review form 1* to 5*. Was contacted by GB and they refunded every cent that was charged to my card and did so without me having to really press them for it. They were pretty cool.
I had a scary moment with Gwynnie Bee last night were they took an unauthorized payment of $594.51 from my account. I called them today and was told that I would get a full refund of this money. The customer service today was good and the ladies that I spoke with were both very friendly and apologetic. I have not received my refund as of yet but they did let me know that it would take about 24 hours to post. I will update this review when I receive the money.
I've just started with Gwynnie Bee but honestly I'm already impressed, the shipping is extremely fast, the clothes were in amazing condition when arrived, the website it very user friendly in my opinion, I don't see why I won't be sticking with GB for a long time to come but I also haven't attempted to cancel so if that time comes, we will see how smooth it goes.
I can't get over all the poor reviews on this site! I've been a GB member since 2013 and I literally cannot say one bad thing about the customer service or the quality of clothing they offer. I think people who complain about cheap clothes are picking out heap clothes. But I love that they offer the same stuff that's on the rack at Nordstrom and Bloomingdales! I am an admitted shopaholic and GB allows me to wear clothes for as long as I like with no commitment but with the option to buy at discounted prices. And then they usually offer and extra 35-40% at least once a month on items you have at home. So in theory you can purchase something that's a New Arrival at a department store for deeply discounted prices.
I in almost 3 years have NEVER had a problem with billing or customer service. You can call them or email and you always get a speedy response. I've had issues where they said they haven't received a garment and with one email it's always been handled no questions asked.
Yes, the service is a little pricey but when you consider most of the items you can closet are upwards of $100+ it's cheaper than buying them outright. And no everything is not a winner but the good definitely out ways the bad!
Thank you Gwynnie for giving this plus size girl options!
Pros: you can keep things in your closet as long as you want. Wide variety of clothes to choose from and explore. Good way to experiment and explore your fashion sense.
Cons: I'm not too pleased with their customer service on the GB Shop side. I bought something that came with a stain on it and it took a little arguing to get what I felt I deserved in terms of compensation. Sometimes I find that items are in demand a lot and it's hard to get the really popular items. I have things in my closet that's been there for a year. That sucks.
Overall I still have my service and I'm mostly happy with it. I haven't experienced any issues with unauthorized charges and I always receive my items.
Answer: You have to re-add them, but there is a "history" section that keeps track of your items so they are easier to find.
Answer: The clothes are cleaned and then sent out to the next person who requested that item in that size. After a period of time (not sure how long) the clothes are put into their for sale section of the site. I've purchased several items after wearing them at incredible savings.
Answer: They are used but have been laundered - you have no need to do that unless you wish to do so. Also they are usually in excellent shape. If you ever receive anything that isn't, make sure you let them know so they can pull it from their inventory.
Answer: Hi Tara - Everyone experiences the service differently. I think the best thing is to judge for yourself. We offer a 30 day free trial, which allows you to do just that. Before joining you can check out our FAQs & browse the collection. If you have any questions, please contact us at gwynnie@gwynniebee.com or 855-GWYNNIE
Answer: It means they will upgrade your items by 1 for the life of your plan. If you sign up for 5 items, and stay with 5 items, you will get 1 free upgrade meaning you will get 6 items. If you change your plan later however, that free upgrade could go away. SandieB
Answer: Hello Susan, Thanks for your interest in our service. Yes, our's is a garment rental service, with the most popular plan of (2 garments out at a time), priced at $68 + taxes per 30-day billing cycle. Those on the 2-item plan usually receive 6-8 garments per month depending on how fast they return them. Speaking of which, you may keep the garments with you as long as you need, before returning them in exchange for another garment/s. When you're ready to receive another garment - we have a "Return Notification" feature where you can give us a heads-up that items are on their way back to us and we can start processing your next package. Our average turnaround time is 4-7 days depending on if you use our return notification feature & where you live. The return notification feature lets you tell us when you're returning an item, so we do not wait to physically receive it & can start processing your replacement within an hour of clicking. Importantly, should you like to purchase any garment you receive as part of your rental shipment you can do so easily, and that too, at generously discounted prices. I hope this helps. Best, Gwynnie
Answer: Good evening Missy, Thanks for your question. While we do have a curated collection of items for members under 5'3, at the moment we do not carry a size 16P. We are sorry for the inconvenience. However, please check our collection from time to time, for garments which you may find suitable in your style and also, in your size :). Please feel free to write for any questions at gwynnie@gwynniebee.com. Our very best, Gwynnie.
Answer: Suzanne, Items process in 2-3 days and then ship via USPS Priority Mail. Those on the 3-item plan usually receive 9-12 garments per month depending on how fast they return them. We have a "Return Notification" feature where you can give us a heads up items are on their way back to us and we can start processing your next package. We'd love for you to try the 30-day free trial to see how many garments you can get for yourself! Our average turnaround time is 4-7 days depending on if you use our return notification feature & where you live. The return notification feature lets you tell us when you're returning an item, so we do not wait to physically receive it & can start processing your replacement within an hour of clicking.
