THIEVES
August 27, 2018

They will not stop charging my cc, I cannot believe they are able to operate on iTunes and Google play. The 800 number on my CC statement goes nowhere. The cancellation link on their app is dead.

On Sunday, June 30th/yesterday I wanted to upgrade my credits to a higher plan starting on July 15th. However, when I went to check out I ACCIDENTALLY clicked the "change plan now" button instead of the "change on next cycle" button. Within seconds of realizing my mistake I reached out to "help chat" through the app. I talked to a bot and then requested a real person. The "real person" couldn't help at all and said they would escalate. My simple click has now become a mountain of an issue because no one can simply refund me the credits and move them to the following cycle. Inotherwords I did not want to change NOW I wanted to make the change on July 15th/my next billing cycle. However, after countless back-and-forth emails with you "support" NOTHING has been resolved. A simple click of the wrong button and now I'm stuck with a new plan cycle and an upgrade of unwanted credits immediately. I will be out of town the next week and wont be able to use these for a week at least. If you can fix what no one else has been able to I will happily restart my plan and remove my negative appstore review. But I have a feeling you're a bot and there's likely a chance my issue remains unresolved forever.

MASSIVE SCAM
August 25, 2019

Do not ever sign up for this. It's impossible to cancel & they tell you you're cancelled, then months later you'll start noticing charges for outrageous amounts of money. STEAR CLEAR OF THIS SERVICE & APP. I've had to flag them as fraudulent at my bank because no matter what steps I took I could not cancel this membership. Over $800 was siphoned out of my account from these thieves.

Hi Michael, thanks for getting in touch and we're sorry for any frustration with your account. ClassPass is a monthly subscription service, so your account does renew monthly until a cancellation request has been fully processed. My daughter convinced me to let her sign her up for ClassPass. BIG mistake. They began charging me $79 per month. Turns out, she wasn't using it, so after awhile, she cancelled it. But I still kept getting billed. I asked her to show me proof of cancellation. She took a screenshot of her membership page, and it indeed said 'cancelled' in red letters. So I did a chat with them (they have no phone number to call them). Explained the situation. They told me... sorry. We can't help you. Only your daughter can do this. Well she DID, that's WHY I have a screen shot of the cancellation! They asked for all of the information (hers & mine). They essentially told me... too bad... we can't help you. Claimed they couldn't find the account. So... I decided to call my credit card company and report the fraud. They are sending them a fraud notice, and have stopped the $79 pending payment for this month. Absolutely horrible. Turns out there is actually a Class Action Lawsuit against ClassPass currently. This is pertaining to all of the small studios who never contracted with ClassPass, but ClassPass said that they offered classes. Nope. Those little studios never got a dime.

SCAM WARNING READ BELOW
December 3, 2019

I was invited to join by a friend. The invite was for a free trial class. Without realizing I got signed up onto a rolling membership.
They put confusing offers up to catch people out to trick money out of people.
The instructions are not clear, this Classpass company as dishonest and fraudulent.
Be careful if you've ever signed up for the free classpass I signed up, tried it, didn't use enough & canceled it (have email proof) but just seen they've been charging me $82.56 per month for past 5 months since I cancelled. From the amount of similar stories on here and Twitter I believe this is part of their business model. There is no way to cancel through the website as the links do not take you to be able to communicate with ANYBODY. I expect an email back or a response with confirmation that my account is being canceled, they are hoping people won't notice while they take 82.56 out of their accounts every month I will be contacting my bank and Better Business Bureau tomorrow to report this SCAM of a company. I will be seeking legal action as well, it seems a lot of people are having the same issue.

I was a member of ClassPass from when it first began. In those 5+ years, it has changed its business model so many times and each evolution has made it more complicated and decreased its value. I went from having unlimited classes for a set price to unlimited classes at a higher price to limited classes at that same high price to limited classes at an even higher price. It got to the point where the price did not give me enough classes to sustain my active lifestyle. I joined a studio and moved my membership plan to 1 class a month at $15. Two weeks ago, ClassPass changed its model YET again to a credit system where $15 doesn't equal 1 class but 9 credits. The classes I've grown accustomed to taking don't equal 9 credits and I have to buy more credits. In one case, the class cost 14 credits and the additional 5 I needed to buy cost $11. This turns into $26 for one class. How does that work? What is the benefit of me using ClassPass to sign up instead of reaching out to the studio directly? IN FACT if I go to buy this class through the studio, it's $22! How does that make sense? The most frustrating issue is the customer service at ClassPass. Each time I voice feedback, I get robotic, formulaic responses that don't acknowledge what I am saying at all. They DO NOT CARE about the customer at all and it shows. When I went to cancel, I was sent canned responses about lowering to a discount rate and that they hoped to see me again soon with a smiley. There was no interest in my feedback or experience. And I was customer for over 5 years. Completely unacceptable.

Drop classpass - you're better off booking directly.

I have not been able to make reservations on the app the last 3 days. I have been a member for several years and I am deeply disappointed in their customer service and lack of problem solving skills. 3 days ago I wrote them at midday that I had trouble booking my class as I usually do several times a week. No matter what I did (restarting, deleting and reinstalling) it just wouldn't work, so I contacted classpass several times.

They didn't get back to me until 6 hours later. In the meantime I wrote them both on social media and their email, saying that if they didn't reply I would be forced to pay directly with the yoga center, and I would expect my money back or credits equivalent to what I had to spend additionally (16 euros for a drop in class).

I am still receiving infrequent answers, unhelpful, with absolutely intention on telling me a) when will the issue be solved or b) that I will be reimbursed for the drop in class I had to pay instead of using my credits.

I have been using classpass for several years now, and generally speaking I have been happy about it, aside from some technical issues and increase of pricing. That's over now, I will definitely stop recommending your app to anyone. SO disappointing! Get a real customer service team and try to give a s*#! About your loyal customers!

I must warn consumers of my horrible experience with ClassApp - not only was I unable to book ANY classes with the app but it tried to charge me $99 without any warning or notice even before my free trial was up! I must warn everyone out there NOT TO TRUST this app! It is the worst app that I have come across in my life and it is a FRAUD!

I love ClassPass, but each time they add updates it seems to decrease the value for subscribers. I have been a subscriber paying $115/mo in Chicago for about 2 years AND I subscribe to the new ClassPass Live. Their recent update 3/2018 changed the credits rollover policy from up to 70 credits/mo to just 10 credits/mo. Not long after (4/2018), credit rates for Chicago classes also increased about 2 credits/class. Not only was the update poorly communicated (the email did not specify when the changes would take effect and their online policy change was updated over 6 weeks after the change took place), but I had previously been a "beta" user testing out app updates, and wasn't told whether or not the change would affect me. 2 months after the changes took place, I realized I had lost a total of 60 credits (roughly $100). I explained the confusion to a customer service person, who credited me 25 credits. Better than nothing... but - at what point should they consider the satisfaction of a loyal customer over the value of those extra 35 credits they refused to credit me? Them refusing to give me back the additional 35 credits may have cost them a monthly subscription.

I did a class through ClassPass during my trial period and it was wonderful. Once I became a paying member, my troubles began. The first class that I registered for through the app was aerial yoga. Not only was the address incorrect but the facility didn't honor classpass for aerial yoga. I subsequently registered for massages at three different places. ClassPass stated that they all had to be rescheduled. I spoke with the owner of one of the facilities and she informed me that she was not a part ClassPass and even asked me what it was. It seems to me that ClassPass falsely lists facilities as participants. My last registration was for a stretch and massage facility. The appointment was confirmed by ClassPass. I went and the place didn't exist. I have contacted ClassPass on several occasions and they did nothing to try to rectify the problem other than to refund my credits for the activities that I registered for. My membership ends in about 10 days and I asked if they could extend my time. They told me that I would have to pay for another month in order for my credits to roll over. I have lost $89 through them.

Charged despite the free 1-month trial claim
September 21, 2022

Wow! I should've read the reviews before signing up for their 1-month "free trial". A couple days later, they charged my card!

Talking to customer support was like talking to a wall. Their first explanation was a (false) claim that I had changed to a more expensive plan, so I was charged and the charge can't be reversed "because of the system" and so on. After I pointed out that that wasn't true, they said that... "[the gym] only allows customers to book one reservation with them while the 20-credit trial offer"! And any class after that would lead to a charge for the full membership.

At no point was I informed of this before. This is nuts. I bought Classpass for the "gym time", and that's exactly what they *DON'T* provide.

Customer support repeatedly said they couldn't reverse the charge. So they valued $49 more than a repeat customer. That's abysmal.

Anyway, even if they didn't pull this disgusting move, Classpath does really *not* make sense as a gym time option. You have to book your sessions at a fixed hour (you can't just walk in), and the price is way more expensive than a regular gym membership. Maybe it's worth it if you take a lot of classes like spin and yoga, but I'm too appalled to give it another try.

This has got to be the scummiest site ever. I used classpass for a month in 2021. Then I proceeded to cancel my subscription and delete my account. YET THEY'VE BEEN CHARGING ME FOR A YEAR SINCE WITH HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE that "couldn't find my account". Probably because it doesn't exist anymore, yet they could charge my card this whole time.

This is a review of only the referral program. Give $40, get $40 in the Washington DC area. It costs $49 for the cheapest package, which is 27 credits. So, if I refer someone, they pay $9 to get 27 credits. Alternatively, they can get either two weeks or one month (depending on promotion), which always gives 35 credits for free. This makes absolutely no sense! A new user could always get a better deal doing the free trial directly with Classpass! I feel ridiculous, and unethical, offering a friend my referral code knowing they're getting much less value this way. I have multiple people I've introducted Classpass too, without using my referral code and cheating them out of credits, and should be rewarded for bringing Classpass business! I've questioned chat representatives on the website several times and am told that a new user could get $40 off a larger plan. Who cares!? Everyone is going to do a free trial of some sort first before committing to a larger plan. Even if they wanted a big plan, who wouldn't want to get 35 credits for free initially? Terrible model and needs to be modified. I suggest that the referral program be changed to "Give 40 (credits), Get 40 (dollars)". This is a fair incentive for both parties to join or promote Classpass.

I just needed two weeks to realize class pass was not for me. Sadly enough it was enough for them to keep almost 200 USD in fees. A real robbery and I totally regret joining it.

Hi Thiago, thanks for sharing your feedback, and we're sorry to hear that you don't feel ClassPass works for you. As noted during the registration flow and in your membership activation confirmation email, fees for late-cancelled and missed classes do apply during and after free trial periods. Additionally, we do note the late cancellation window when you confirm a reservation on the website or mobile app. As a friendly reminder, many of our classes are available to book up to 10-15 minutes before class time.

If you need further assistance with your account, please send us an email at https://ClassPass.com/contact

This place has the worst customer service on the planet. WARNING! If you are injured or feel hesitant to attend a class, if something comes up, or you miss the class due to bad MTA train service in NYC, you will get charged $20 every single time. I had to cancel two classes and they unknowingly charged my bank account $40.

I have now spent over an hour in a "chat" with a "human" total stranger regurgitating policy structure bull$#*! and trying to get the charges removed. I have had my account for less than 2 weeks and they refuse to waive fees.
They have recommended instead that I take restorative and calming classes and dot their sentences with exlamation marks! And smiley faces :) real obtuse and insulting customer service. Terrible

As well the format is time consuming unless you already know the studios and classes. You want to attend. There are not enough filters or search functions. Their cancellation fee policy is worse than a medical practitioners. Classpass is not worth your time unless you have a specific class in mind to go to.

DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR CREDIT CARD #. THEY WILL ERRONEOUSLY CHARGE YOU FOR THINGS, PURPOSELY MISTATE PACKAGES SO YOU DON'T KNOW WHY YOU HAVE BEEN CHARGED SO MUCH AND THEN REFUSE TO EVER FIX A SINGLE ERRONEOUS CHARGE NO MATTER WHAT. THEY WILL NEVER, EVER ISSUE A SINGLE REFUND WHETHER IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE OR NOT. OH YEAH, AND IF YOU MISS A CLASS THEY WILL CHARGE YOU 2X AS MUCH $ AS THE CREDITS FOR THAT COURSE WAS WORTH RATHER THAN JUST TAKING THE CREDITS SO YOU LITERALLY PAY DOUBLE FOR A CLASS IF YOU END UP MISSING IT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THEY HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO CONTINUE OPERATING THIS WAY FOR YEARS!
