Beyond frustrated and grossed out by classpass. I have an immunocompromised son so I cannot take group classes right now and there is nothing outdoor/safe in my area. Had been told I could keep my account on pause as long as I renewed the pause every month, but apparently they decided it was now ok to screw people, and after numerous insanely frustrating conversations, I had to choose between paying every month in order to keep the credits i ALREADY BOUGHT, or I cancelling and losing everything I'd already paid for. TOTAL SCAM. Would never recommend to anyone!
I want to warn anyone thinking of using Class passn be warned. Their incompetence is beyound frustrating! You can never get a staraight answer when there is a problem. They pass you from department to department. When you want to cancel your agreement n they will not let you do it. Dealing with class pass my family has had the worst experience possible. I do not recommend them to anyone!
While I checked my bank statement, I found out that ClassPass has been charged me 99 per month since March until September without I knowing. I'm so amazed by the new method of earning their money. I chatted with CS TEAM, and they said they only can refund me 3months fee.
IT'S UNACCEPTABLE. YOU BETTER REFUND ME FULL. And for new users I suggest you not to sign up. If you do, You will be the next victim.
(CS team didn't even highlighted to me that they actually charge me 7 months. How transparent they are.)
I signed up for the free 14 day trial through a friend's referral link -- 53 free credits sounded like a great deal. However what they don't tell you is how difficult it actually is to find a class to sign up for within that first week of your trial. Realistically, you have to reserve a class a week out and you can't book too far in advance either. The reservation schedule opens up week by week, so you have to keep checking back and things book up quick.
Eventually, I was able to reserve a couple classes. BUT I found out even though I reserved them during my free trial, my free credits won't apply because they only deduct the credits from your account when the class actually happens (which was after my trial would be over). So basically I was only able to attend one class during my trial and the rest of the credits were a lost cause.
Also, their support team seems lost and unfamiliar with their own policies. Anytime I got in touch with live support to ask a basic question about my membership, it took them forever to find the answer. If they're so confused about their own policies, how do they expect customers to understand them?
Class pass is a scam. Please avoid. Sharing the word to help others. They don't have any real customer service and steal your credits if you decide to pause renewal.
Classpass are a scam business with unethical business practices converting "free" introductions to sales and charging credit cards without approvals... avoid this company
Cancellation Response to ClassPass, this should give you an idea:
Every appointment I make is cancelled, I do not think it is your intention to be a scam, but that is what it has been for me recently. I used to use ClassPass and love it, however recent changes to your model have made it so credits are unusable and frustration has become expected when booking through you. You have options available to book that are not real places, you have providers that explicitly told you they don't want to be on your platform, there are businesses that make requests and ClassPass doesn't follow through (ID of card used to book) causing appointments to be cancelled, you have time slots that are not available yet still confirmed.
You're trying to stay afloat by offering more than you can provide and therefore actually putting yourself farther behind. Reassessment is needed. You policy not to refund points & money that is actually unusable (look at my account) is unfortunate to say the least. I will be disputing the charges from you and leaving accurate reviews anywhere I can find to do so, in hopes of giving other potential customers a warning. I am very happy to be out of this misleading & abusive arrangement.
Impossible to get help and billing is dishonest. The fitness centers that participate that I tried also had hidden costs (certain type of socks needed and they were happy to sell me some for $16)
Super sketch establishments listed. They take your money and waste your time.
Let me first say I am extremely disappointed in class pass for advertising a bogus establishment and taking my money, but also putting me in a very uncomfortable situation.
I walked into body relax massage for my 330 appt having already paid on ClassPass only to be told they don't accept that and I need to pay them cash now. Then the front desk woman says also that they don't accept appointments through any platform and why am there if they close at 2. Well, The door was unlocked and I walked in for my scheduled appt time so why are they open is the real question.
I showed her the app and showed her that I paid for an appointment time. She repeatedly said in broken English "no you pay me now in cash". Mind you, I haven't even received a service or confirmed that I had an appointment.
The business itself signs up with these apps so they know they are taking appointments on them and charging. This is completely out of line for such an established app and "massage studio" I hope to never encounter such a situation again.
Was invited as a guest and could not make class due to a family emergency. Class Pass tried to hit me with a $20 missed class fee because they don't give you ANY flexibility on class cancellation the day of. LIFE HAPPENS PEOPLE.
I'll never use them.
They stopped letting me take classes at the only studio i signed up for class pass with, had no idea how to fix it. No number to call. So beyond done with them.
Hi Melissa, we're so sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your reservations. Please send us an email to https://ClassPass.com/contact with your account email, as well as the studio information and we're happy to look into this further for you.
We don't offer phone support at this time, but you can always get in touch via email, and we are also available for chat on weekdays.
They just raised the price of Classpass in SF to $175 a month! This is crazy considering there are very low costs in terms of infrastructure for their business. I can go to one of the nicest gyms out there for that monthly price. The one time I had a problem (which was their fault for listing 2 different studio locations for a class), they never even apologized and told me it was essentially my fault. And that if I did it again, they would charge me. Seriously?
It's really unfortunate because I like being able to go to different studios, but I can't justify giving them this kind of money for horrible service. It just seems greedy. Very disappointing. I gave them this feedback and they just said, "we'll note it. I'm happy to help if you have any specific questions." Still no apology for messing up and causing me to go to the wrong location and not be able to even take the class.
I'm really hoping that there is some serious competition out there for them soon. Please? Someone else build a similar app?
Not only can you never call in and get a response... You are left
With either emailing or chatting. Not a huge deal EXCEPT when they tell you, your membership will cost one price AND THEN they charge you completely different and then REFUSE to make the adjustment. Not only that, typically all classes (with the later times) are filled. And now they have their system where you can only book 4 classes at a time but that doesn't leave room to book classes 1 week ahead (if you take 5-6 classes per week).
Lastly, customer service is terrible. You can never get a hold of a manager to work out their mistakes and because hey hide behind a computer screen it makes it easy for them to ignore the important questions. I had to call 5 times, write 5 emails, and send a chat before someone addressed my questions.
Before I signed up, I mentioned I had more then one home address, they gave me permission to use my address in another state (even my billing showed for that state). They then ended up charging me (without my permission) for a higher price.
I understand you can't please everyone and I was happy with them until they became unavailable and charged me for an amount I never consented for. Now I have to fight my bank and make sure this issue doesn't happen again. All and all I'd say save your money unless you have an open schedule and don't mind being ripped off.
DO NOT ENROLL. After the first month, they started charging my card $110 a month without any notification. I contacted ClassPass to cancel my membership but they never actually did it and continued to charge my card. When I tried to contact customer service, they were incredibly demeaning, saying that I had agreed to their terms of service and cannot retroactively return my money. EVEN THOUGH I HAD ALREADY CANCELLED. I'm a college student who is struggling to pay tuition, rent and food and they took ZERO sympathy. It took talking to 3 reps for them to actually cancel my membership
No transparency about their fees, lots of fees, high fees, oh yeah and I tried to confirm my 6 month commitment would not auto-renew on four different occasions before learning that it WAS set to auto-renew and the only time I can make that request is a day in advance of my subscription ending AND my requests didn't count because that request can only be made during the final month of my contract.
The woooorrrrsssst!
Hi Laura, thanks for reaching out and so sorry about any confusion with our commitment plans. To clarify, when you sign up for a 6 month commitment plan, you receive a promotional plan offering for the duration of 6 months; however, if you do decide to cancel your commitment plan, you will be able to do so anytime after your 6th renewal date so that you are not renewed into a standard membership plan for your 7th month. We apologize if this was not made clear. Please feel free to reach out to us at classpass.com/contact if you need any assistance with this.
It's a SCAM. I paid and booked for a session but upon arrival, the vendor do not want to honour saying they are closing and refuse to perform the service on the booked slot. I arrived ahead before the appointment.
Classpass refuse to refund my credit. Vendor said they will contact me but they don't. What a scam run by these companies.
To avoid further charges, I unsubscribe the account first. Classpass then say i unsubscribe so I can no longer use any credits.
BUT YOU DONT PROVIDE ME THE SERVICE I PAID FOR EVEN THOUGH I ARRIVE ON TIME/ BEFORE TIME.
I TRAVEL ALL THE WAY THERE.
WHY DO YOU BURN MY CREDIT AND DONT REFUND ME?
I tried to cancel my free trial. You HAVE TO live chat them, and they make it impossible to do so. I had to chat them TWICE to get it sorted. They then charged me a month later! When I contacted them they blamed ME. "I'm sorry you're confused"? I had to explain I ALREADY CANCELLED. Then all of a sudden "oh, oopsies! We accidentally renewed it." So scammy, so dodgy... enough to make you sick...
I would highly recommend you STAY AWAY from ClassPass. The easiest thing is to sign up and take your money, but they make it EXTREMELY difficult to cancel your account. They don't state anywhere on their website or cancellation policy that you will lose your previously paid credits when you cancel your membership, and when cancelling your membership, they take forever which ends up charging you for another bill cycle. The customer service support is TERRIBLE. There's no phone number, you only have a chat box to speak with someone from the company, and when I tried to speak with someone, she cut me off and left the chat while we were in the middle of a conversation and I was in the middle of typing. I can not express enough that you should absolutely stay away from this company!
I bought a one time offer 5 classes for $35. Never had a chance to try it though, because the offer was limited and I didn't have time. However classpass charging me every month for $78 without any notifications through email. I don't check my bank account very often to go through each transaction, so I discovered it 3 months later. When I tried to contact the customer service, there is no phone line that you can talk and explain the issue. Only email. They sent me a sorry email, but unfortunately they can not refund me retroactively, and also not gonna give me any classes for the $234 I payed. They suggested to go on a lower package plan, and to continue to charge me basically. Also the cancellation fee is $78. I asked to show me the contract that I agreed to, they never response. I never been informed about the automatic subscription. They choose the package for me ( there is a cheaper options), they never informed me about my membership that I never used, at least the reminder for the customer. Ever! I had no idea that I'm subscribed to that scam. Also when I checked the account on my name, there was zero credit, after they charged me $78. The only thing I can do is to block this transaction through my bank account. Don't use it! Worst customer service ever!
Classpass lied and scammed my money after purchasing.
I purchased the trial 30-credit from the Classpass app in the month of August. The copywriting used for that trial package informed me that I could utilize these credits for any gyms. But after purchasing and utilizing only 6-credits out of my 30-credits, Classpass blocked the majority of the gyms in my country's STATE. Meaning, I could only see 1-3 gyms in my city, and blocked the classes for these gyms that I could see. I could not book any classes at all, and when I raised this issue to their customer service, they brushed it aside and told me to upgrade my plan and pay an additional RM200. What's worse is that after my complain to Classpass, more gyms have now been blocked and more timeslots for classes have also been blocked. Definitely a scamming company that cheats your money.
Answer: I was having a good experience until I tried to change billing date and things got complicated. I was still billed on date I was trying to change was advised I will need to cancel then reactivate account. Even though I was charged it is showing I don't have any credits. I tried chatting and getting this figured out but I am being told I don't have credits even thought I just paid. I tried cancelling several times and its always a chat nightmare,
Answer: Great concept... terrible execution and company. Someone please hurry and make a better company using this concept because the idea was actually quite good but I refuse to give them anymore of my money.
Answer: Oh, it's easy to get a hold of Customer Service but THEY WILL NOT HELP You if you need a refund for an erroneous charge or a mistake ClassPass has made. They'll simply tell you over and over they can't issue any refunds no matter what even if you haven't used a single credit and no physical property has been exchanged.
ClassPass has a rating of 1.1 stars from 245 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with ClassPass most frequently mention customer service, free trial and credit card. ClassPass ranks 77th among Gym sites.
Hi Joe, so sorry about any confusion with our membership autorenewal. As ClassPass is a subscription service, anytime you sign up for a promotional offer, you are set to renew into a full priced plan at the end of your free trial. That being said, you can cancel this renewal at any point during your trial period in your account settings. We apologize if this was not made clear to you. Please feel free to get in touch with us at classpass.com/contact so we can help you with any incorrect charges.
