And is not pleasant. After the first try i will not use it again. It's that bad. The jar has no applicator, pipette or dropper so it's difficult to apply it to my waterless aroma diffuser. I tried to post a review on their website without success. I believe negative reviews are not allowed to be posted. I recommend staying away from this company
I purchased Bulk Apothecary's 1 Gallon unscented massage lotion & the premium massage lotion. Both were a total disappointment. Both products are Water Based and if you add oil, you'll just notice the oil floating on top. The lotion dries very quickly, so if you apply the lotion within 20 seconds it dries completely. I've definitely used better. As for the Ratings for this product - Wish I checked before I purchased. All the reviews are from 2016 - 2019... and here we are at 2021.
I purchased a product on 3/16/20. They charged my card and still no product. They stated that my product had been shipped and gave me a tracking No. UPS says they never got it from Bulk Apothecary. They are not answering the phone or answer my emails. Tried the website and it appears to be down. Total CROOKS
Ordered 7200 caps March 19. After inquiring what was going on replied 2 weeks later that sanitizer orders have them running behind and it would be first or second week of April we would get caps. More unanswered emails begging for shipment or I will pick up because we need to get our sanitizer out to community. Told me today they have no caps and they are on back order and have no idea when they will get any in. You literally can still place an order for them still! No out of stock warning no back order warning. Took my money and lied for a month! I have 7200 containers ready and labeled for nothing. Cost me a ton of money. It is illegal to sell a product you do not have let alone say 10-12 days processing then oh it will be there 1-2 weeks, when you don't even have it!
Like countless other on this site, we placed an order based on their website stating "In stock." Since placing our order several weeks ago, we have no status on our order, despite the fact that we have emailed the company. We made a decision to call the FTC by end of day tomorrow to file a report to protect others.
Well if first impressions count, these guys are in. Provided info before I bought, shipped super quick and I a delighted with their products. I see the reviews, both + and -. Apparently, some of these people are big users $1000+ dollars, I am under $100. So maybe that is the difference. Maybe BA just can't handle big orders. Me, I am well satisfied.
I have spent a lot of money with this company and never again will I use them. Very disappointed the photo on the site shows the product then in the fine fie it says the wood wick hold is not included. So I have hundreds without holders. If I knew it wasn't included I would have bought but when I called the CSR treated me like an idiot.
I've used this company for 3 years and as of today, I am one order away from finding a new company to use for my oils and such. They are ALWAYS on back order and when I've left my email address to be notified- NOTHING! If you place a order, don't waste your time on getting it any sooner, because they claim they are backed up and it'll be a week later that you actually receive it. So you pay extra thinking you'll have it sooner and no. I think they are ripping people off on that and misleading the customer. I will be looking for another company today and possibly cancelling my order with them. Until they get their crap together, my review will stay a 1.
I purchased a 7lb tub of natural cocoa butter from them & received a dud. The product was hard and looked dried out except for a few dark spots. I tried to use it anyway, wondering if melting it down would solve the issue, and I was able to make lotion out of it but my recipe was off due to the consistency and the end product is hard to use, it doesn't seem to melt down in my hands as well as prior batches. Anyway I waited too long to try return it but I wrote to them asking how to dispose it and whether it may have gone bad and their customer service was not helpful at all. They ignored my question of whether it was bad and told me that the lot expired this month (a year after receiving it, when it was bad when I got it) and to contact my local waste disposal to figure out how to remove it. I get that they're no longer responsible for disposal once it's out of their hands, but if you can't even educate your customer then you have no business selling products with combustible warnings. And further why are they selling such large quantities of product that are nearly bad? A year is a quick turnaround for that amount of cocoa butter when the shelf life is 2-5 years... how long did it sit on their shelves? If it was that close to expiration and clearly already bad if you opened it, then the dates should be visible to customers before purchase & it should be offered at a discount. An expensive lesson that there are plenty of other sources available.
In this age of technology and ecommerce, the family owners go and boast about expansion but reality is they suck at what they do. Best example if somebody wants to study "Direct To Consumer Failure". Customer service is horrible. Reps on phone say that ownership/supervisor doesn't have time to entertain customers on call or listen to them. Who tells a customer that company leaders don't have time to talk to customers in this age?
I placed an order 5 weeks ago for almost $55.00. The website said there would be a 10 day delay in shipping due to Increased sales. I was okay with that! Now, the website says there will be at least a 2 week delay in shipping. That's acceptable to me as well. Unfortunately it's been 5 weeks now with no shipment. Each email I receive from the company refers to the 2 week delay in shipping. I've now requested a refund so we'll see how long that takes to process.
They are my go to store and have been almost since they began business... love their products that I have purchased, they always come well packaged and shipped, and the Essential Oils I have ordered and use daily are awesome! So much better than those one oz size bottles from other sources... and priced soooo much better... If I'm looking to buy something I always research and compare prices and always end up ordering from Bulk Apothecary... truly one of my favorite go to's
I place my order and everything was perfect, I got it in a week, the product packed perfectly, the bath bombs smell amazingly good. I ordered some samples to know the product and I am very happy with the super fast shipping, also they sent confirmation to my email with all the details of the purchase. Everything flowed perfectly. I recommend it and will buy from them again.
Bulk Apothecary is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. Every single time I need to order something whether it's fragrance oil or lotion, it is ALWAYS out of stock. They can never give me an ETA on when products will be back in stock and as a small business owner, it's incredible frustrating because I have orders I need to fulfill. I have called them a few times and it's always an unpleasant experience. Customer service is everything and when you treat your customers poorly, they will go elsewhere which is exactly what I will be doing... taking my business somewhere else.
I ordered product from this company for non-profit organization for children. The product has not arrived, there is no way to verify shipping, no way to check on it, no one answers their phone and it appears they either have no customer service, corporate morals or are just a scam;
I just wanted to take the time to leave a review that counteracts some of these poor reviews. During this pandemic, shipping has been slow and no matter where you order from it has taken additional time. I placed an order for a variety of items on 5/27 and received the entirety of the order 6/8. Considering the large discount they offer a little patience is worth it.
I ordered from them because they said they had it in stock, it took over 6 weeks to receive the two gallons ordered!
If you dont have product in stock, then dont sell it.
Also to add to the bad experience, the product smells horrible!

I have bought from them many times. They offer quality products at affordable prices. I do think their shipping is pretty high and I have had orders that were not right but they fixed them as soon as possible. If you have the idea of you want a fair deal, then this is a good company for you.
This company is as bad as they come. I bought (3) 16oz bottles of essential oils. They apparently leaked during shipping and the carrier sent them back before they even got to me. When I finally got my order, one of the canisters leaked and it weighed at 19.1, canister and oil. The other two weighed at 19.9-they did not leak at all. The company sent me. 5oz oil to replace the oil from the one canister that leaked. Well, that adds up to 19.6oz... still missing. 3oz. They refused to make that up saying that they overfill their canisters just in case they leak. True shame that their practices are not honest and fair.
I had an order delivered to wrong location, never signed for, never received. They told me that I was responsible for cost because the order was "delivered appropriately" though the receiver has no documentation. This place is a scam. Cost me $100 with no reconciliation. All I got was a sorry it's not our fault. Buyer beware, scam artists at their finest.
