I had a big enough mess with my shipment that it required a conversation outside of the shipping or customer service realm. Well you can not speak with anyone there outside of "sales". All phone numbers and emails only take to "sales".
Is there someone there higher up who may be interested in what "sales" is doing? Nope!
This is why Amazon will continue to monopolize the industry, at least you can speak to someone higher up the food chain if need be. Bulk Apothecary can be lumped into every other category of $#*!ty companies once they've gotten their money.
We have an agreement (in writing) that Bulk Apothocarry would provide our company at least one 55 gallon drum of a product, shipped at the end of each month. We're going on 7 weeks now on this agreement with one barrel paid for and all we get are excuses. Our orders are stacking up and we are loosing business. Unacceptable. Unprofessional. Unimpressed. With all the other areas of this company giving exemplary performance, above and beyond customer service - this is heartbreaking to write. I hope they can get out in front of this problem and make things right.
Bulk Apothecary has no customer service. I purchased $15,000 of product on March 19 with an estimated delivery of ten days. They ran my card and still have not shipped the product. They do not answer their phones or reply to e-mail. I would not recommend use this company. I will not even give them one star. They should shut their doors and be investigated by the government.
Until recently, I have been ordering from BA for years for all my small business needs, and there has never been a problem with receiving my order in a timely fashion, until now! I ordered the same items as usual and here it is almost 2 weeks later, my purchase hasn't even been shipped. I called Customer Service and they were rude as hell! Even asked to speak with a manager, was put on hold for a long time and then the manger was rude as well. I cancelled my order and tried to reorder, 4 days later my items are still not shipped! I am soo sick of this! Being a small business, I depend on dependability, and they have let me down twice now! Not sticking around for more of the BS. Im done!
I have bought from them many times. They offer quality products at affordable prices. I do think their shipping is pretty high and I have had orders that were not right but they fixed them as soon as possible. If you have the idea of you want a fair deal, then this is a good company for you.
I have been using them for the last year and as the time has gone on, the quality of the product has gone downhill and the customer service is horrible. Passive aggressive customer service reps, private label soaps don't have smell like anything. Shipping is super long. Paid for next day shipping and it took over a week.Not only that, I cancelled the order and they still shipped it. Won't be using them again. They also have to approve all reviews on their website, which is why they have so many 5 star reviews on their website. Find another company to support because they are arrogant
Update: I DID finally receive my shipment. Apparently they are overwhelmed and just cut-off communication. Sorry for the bad review. These are just terrible times.
I ordered bulk hand sanitizer for business at a whopping $50 per gallon. Email states shipped, but tracking does not work. Neither does their phone. Scam?
First time site user. I ordered 2 bottles of my daily fragrance because the price was so much less than anywhere. I felt it was too good to be true. I read the reviews and saw all the negative reviews were hand sanitizer and I understand how difficult that item was to deal with so I gave them a pass. I'm glad I did! 2 days later and I'm restocked prob for the year but thrilled with the price, follow up from customer service, and quick delivery. I'll be shopping here more often for sure!
This is my second review of Bulk Apothecary. I used to buy a lot of essential oils and lotion, cream, and butter bases from them. They have a great inventory, and I have no complaints about their products (although I believe my favorite source of essential oils, EDENS Garden, has more superior oils). But I stopped ordering from BA because their S&H costs were way too expensive! I just order products for my own use. If you are a person who orders large amounts of product because you are making candles, soaps, lotions to sell, then you probably qualify for free shipping. Then you are no doubt happy with BA. But for people like me, who order small amounts, the S&H is too much to handle. Thank you for reading my review.
I'm a disabled RN who has many health problems and an auto-immune disease. I've become very interested in Aromatherapy as an aide to better well-being. I came across Bulk Apothecary (BA) and have become a (too) frequent customer. However, the products seem very good, and I enjoy reading about the properties and uses of each essential oil (EO) listed. I now have a big supply of BA products. The complaints I have are that there are often mistakes made in the products I ordered vs the products I get. I'd say this happens at least 1/3 of the time. However, I use their "CHAT" service, and I've had NO complaints in their problem resolutions. The CHAT service is based in Asia, so one CHAT employee was NOT at all helpful, but the rest were. Another BIG issue is that S&H costs are atrociously high! However, they often have coupons that kind of balance out that cost-not completely, but they help. Another issue is that sometimes the order takes forever to come. The last one came in about 12 days. Some have come quickly; others not. I guess they are waiting for some of the flowers to grow so they can process them? I'm new at this, so I can't really judge, but the products seem very good, and the prices can be very reasonable, so I will keep using BA. By now, I should have enough materials to work full-time at making things for a few years!
Good news! My order did finally arrive! I ordered the gel sanitizer. I think that this company can resolve a lot of confusion if they would just explain their shipping procedures on the web site. Simply saying that there is a 10 day process is not enough. I placed my order on 3/9, I get a email on 3/19 that my order has shipped with a tracking number, UPS did not receive my package from vendor until 3/24. The problem is with the time that it takes for UPS to get the package.
At first I ordered the smallest bottles of sandalwood vanilla (formerly bath & bodywork devotee). I bought 6 and was very pleased. My recent order was escalated to larger sized bottles... NOT very pleased! It's almost as If to increase the amount, water was added. The oil's scent was 50% less strong than the smaller bottles. Ot happy with this order.
I received my order of about $500 worth and received wrong items. When you call the answering machine comes on saying they are closed. Yet they are supposed to be open from 8-430. I called at 230, so then I send an email. No response…I should know better because I have had a bad experience before sending products that weren't as described or again sent wrong products. I spent much more on the item then what they sent me. If they don't respond I will go same route as before to reporting them. I find it's a bad reflection on management and therefore the employees are the same way. This company needs to be revamped and get better customer service. It's a nightmare to deal with them.
Customer service isn't great. I've had damaged items show up and I wanted a refund. Never heard a response or or got even a partial refund (4 out of 5 bottles had spilled and were empty). When I look to place other orders, usually half my items are out of stock. Most recently, shipping out has gone way longer than what they said. I understand they have more work load, but don't offer products then if you cannot get them out when you say. I was told it would be 10 days until my order could be filled. Then it jumped to 12. Now it's been 14 and it still has not shipped. I would have ordered elsewhere if I'd have been given a more honest estimate. They won't refund me though, so now I'm stuck waiting who knows how long.
I was expecting the worst after I had read the reviews (after I had already placed an order) so was pleasantly surprised when my order arrived in slightly over a week. It arrived in fine shape and as some had mentioned the smells of some of their products, I opened each item and did not notice that any smelled unusual. I will probably order from them again. Note: I ordered eight different items but in very small quantities for making homemade lotion bars for personal use.
Bulk is local to me (so grateful for that! Save on shipping charges) and I've never had a problem with items out of stock etc. However, I always keep my supply stash going so that I never run out. Rule of thumb for this hobby is don't order right before a show or a deadline! Everyone I've encountered in person has been very friendly, from the front desk to the pickup ladies in the back. I wish everyone else had smooth experiences like I have. Order ahead.
I placed a small order. After several weeks, order arrived but was missing an item. I contacted using the only email / phone number I could locate. Sent 4 emails - received one response that they will look into my missing order item. 2 weeks later, still no resolution and no further contact. Will never order from again. Beware - do not purchase from this company.
Be wary of ordering essential oils from Bulk Apothecary. The oils have unlisted expiration dates which you must specifically request from their documents department. Even then, when the oils go rancid before the date provided by the company, their customer service agents will give you a run around and you will end up losing whatever money you spent as they will not issue you any form of credit towards replacing items. Bulk Apothecary has no concern for customer satisfaction and does not stand by their own documentation or the quality of products they sell. It took me over a dozen emails to two departments over the course of two weeks to finally get the response that they were not going to do anything to resolve a complaint for a loyal customer (which I am no longer).
Not sure the quality. I still dont have it :( The website said 7-10 days because they are busy. Its not until after you pay, you get an email days later sorry this could take a while. Also no refunds. Sales are final!
I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing from this company. I found them on Amazon, then started ordering from the direct site. 1 of my packages was marked delivered but it was delivered to the wrong address with a picture of a house that is not mines. I was told that the product was delivered and they did their part! Now I have to wait over a week to get an answer on whether they go refund me or not. I also own a business and all of my packages are insured. I would never make a customer wait this long especially if they have proof that the package was not delivered properly. I provided the picture that was left by the postal service plus a picture of my home with the address in BIG numbers proving that my home address picture did not match the picture that was provided by the delivery company. I fully understand that they did mail the package but I also provided the right address on the order plus proof that it wasn't delivered to me. As a business owner I would immediately send out a replacement or refund, just to provide proper customer service. They will get their money back from the insurance claim! Don't even think about paying for faster shipping, it's still go come in the regular amount of days. I also made this mistake. I should have learned my lesson then. They won't get another opportunity to slow down the production of my products.
