Absolutely the worst

Absolutely the worst experience I've had in years! I would have given them -10 if I could here. Ordered an item on January 2, and according to the info on their website, it was supposed to be processed and shipped the next business day (Jan. 3), and delivered within the next 1-3 biseness days, so by January 8 at the latest. As I need the item rather urgently, this was the fastest turnaround I could find, and this is why I ordered from them. Big mistake! On January 8 (!) they informed me that they shipped the item. However, even as of today, January 10, the shipper has not acknowledged the receipt of the item. When I enquired what's going on, here's what the response was:
"Hi,
Thanks for reaching out to us. Your order shipped via USPS tracking *********************. I would expect that you should see movement/delivery within the next few business days. Sometimes the carrier doesn't scan appropriately upon transit. If you do not see any movement on the tracking by 1/14, please reach back out to us at that time. We apologize for any inconvenience."
1/14 just to see if there is any info on the tracking! Instead of promised delivery by 1/8! Feel the difference. Probably will never see the item. No effort to troubleshoot or expedite, no nothing. I submitted BBB complaint, as this is totally unacceptable. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I've bought quite a bit of product from them in the past year. Lotions, bottles, caps, boxes, soaps and bathbombs. I've had an issue with one bottle missing from a case of 6. I called they replaced the missing bottle. I didn't have any problems with ordering, shipping, or customer service when a mistake was made. The products themselves were good quality and aesthetically pleasing. I've read some recent reviews of the lotion and can say that if what they're claiming is true, then the issue has been resolved because I haven't had the same experience. It's possible that extenuating circumstances lead to these unfortunate events but I can honestly say that I've not had any of the experiences that's I'm seeing in these reviews and I'm very excited to continue working with Bulk Apothecary. I would like to add that when they replaced the missing item that they overcompensated. I am beyond satisfied with our business relationship.

Scam site steals your tax & shipping if usps steals it then says they cant refund real money. LIES!

Was lied to frequently with every elaborate story under the damn sun! Had a package probably bc of the elaborate tape clearly flagging it as a pricey apothecary, "go missing" from a usps hub in the city. Tried to very politely get a refund, was met with a lieing thief michelle who gave me every bs excuse under the sun to force me into waiting longer. That date would come, oh wait longer now with no specific answer, were waiting on the usps(who will never give anyone an answer when searching for any mail, other than sorry we couldnt find it. Its been a renowned dead end for yeeeears.) she informed me of the way things HAD to go, she wanted to make sure she got her money. Told me that they had started a claim with the usps this was a process and WE had to wait for that to close, so she could claim double money off the insurance on MY package, bc she couldnt refund me real money, & never intended to. I saw the package as mine bc i had had this issue with something smaller from them in the past, & had a bad feeling that they weren't going to actually return my money, also based off of other reviews their classic for this scam. Their boxes get stolen alot bc they clearly mark them/can smell them bc they drown everything in fragrance oils inside. They insist "store credit" its pretend and it never applies to anything, its just text on a screen you cant use and i just figured that out unfortunately. So theyve stolen more than this from me. They never refund any real money and i wonder why this is. I assume no financial company is ever made aware on their end on purpose, that there was ever any problem for tax and usps reasons. They keep your funds, tell you they are going to try and claim your lost package 15 days from now which never happens, then never refund you so they get away with being paid twice, then just tell you to reorder and repay tax and shipping that "sorry, we cant refund that" or sorry, we cant refund that amount" ineligible for refund etc. and are famous like i said in my screenshot, for blaitently refusing to even lift a finger for you if you at any point down the road try to make a claim on your own package that will never show up bc their boxes get stolen bc their foolish and dont care one bit about me besides my money. She lied! Bc no one had ever started a missing search request, even 2 months later vis usps, i made sure to give her time past her supposed date and still there was nothing as i checked with the usps. So she lied ALOT then ignored me after that date she set. She just shoots out a different be excuse every time you demand your rightful funds back. She also informed me that i would not be getting my money back, but "store credit"(which you cant use it just shows up in the side bar of their website, unmovable, unable to use or add to your account & the site breaks constantly if you try to purchase something then charges you twice) for just the items! Im sure it works out really well for them to never have to use real money but coding on a website thats unlimited and pretend. So my shipping i was overcharged for(which they love to do best, really caring about the customer here) over $23 for basic priority mail for 1 gallon of soap! And they stole my tax then demanded i would have to pay that again. Seems to me their stealing taxes for items not received, stealing claim money from the usps to never refund, do not care as their overseas assumably by the way they behave with money, and how their stealing taxes. So their either just really horrible and dishonest, or its all drop shipped from ohio. I dont have a problem with overseas sellers as i support everyone regularly, but there is a sheer lack of empathy and morality here which bothers me deeply. They just want double money by claiming your package. I also had to wait for the package to get to the usps from dhl which took a week. Will unapologetically, ruthlessly steal your money then be completely open with that in writing that they plan on claiming your insurance money off of your lost package and are going to wait to get that back before they maybe offer you pretend "store credit" you cant use or click on. Im sorry if im repeating myself or rambling, im upset. Tell you they cant refund that amount. Any amount bc it would leave a trail. I claimed my package asap when she told me that, and filed for a chargeback which a month later after waiting 2, is still in process. My postmaster informed me that no one except for me had filed for a lost package, even a month later, so she lies about that as well. Their chat support is a joke, is ran by one woman, or multiple under the same "joy" surname, and they are restricted from ever refunding you and nothing is within their power to fix bc michelle has the say so evidently. They also demand you jump through some seriously outlandish, delusional hoops in order to even give any promise of any help that is never actual help beyond false constantly changing promises. To trap you into only giving you pennies of their pretend "store credit". Had a whole bottle of wrongly filled and opened strongly scented fragrance oil spill into my package, gave me a migraine, was opened then put in. What reason would they have to break the seal then refill it with something so vial!? Took a photo for them she demanded i put it on a scale and do all this other crap with the label showing so she could see how much was left in the bottle so she didnt have to fully refund me the $2. Its just ridiculous and this isnt an honest company in any concept. They really care about their pennies here, even if they arent legally theirs. Stealing taxes and shipping money for items never received, theives. Im sure it says different on paper though. Im so upset & i feel taken advantage of. Again

*screenshots are for both packages i ordered, i only received one of them, the smaller one is the one i received that leaked bc it had been opened then refilled with a very strong nauseating scent i didnt order.

I highly suggest now essential oils, & wholesale supplies plus.

dont. dont go near this site or its natures oil mirror site. i suffered without for months bc of them just bc i was on a fixed income. they stole my money & i hope someone reports them for tax fraud.

Products used:

1 gal soap base(can get this off amazon or wholesale supplies), essential oils(watered down, prob not from where they say they are), fragrance oils(BAD). i still have not found a safe alternative, im currently showering with apple cider vinegar. its trully terrible to have so many allergies, then to be ruthlessly take advantage of bc money mattered more than me...again.

Essential Oils
February 5, 2021

I purchased essential oils on 12/16/2020. Order # *******. The Order Status says Shipped and Delivered to my mailbox on 12/21/2021 via USPS Tracking # *********************
However, their website says that the order was shipped and updated on 2/4/2021.
I am the only person who has a key to my mailbox and i never received the package.
I have called Bulk Apothecary several times and they keep saying that they will follow up with the post office. Almost 2 months down the line, I still don't have the product and no communication from Bulk Apothecary. This is very frustrating.

Smells so bad - can't use.

18 Mar2020 Ordered 1G 62% ethyl alcohol sanitizer. CC charged. 19MAR Site status indicates "order pending" or something similar.

9-Apr - I write a civil message inquiring about the order.

14-Apr (after no response) I write another civil inquiry and state that if I do not get solid evidence of shipping or planned shipping soon, I will dispute the cc charge on 18Apr (1 month after order).

15Apr - I receive a polite apology email which states, in part, "... we understand if you need to cancel. Just let us know."

15Apr - 17 minutes after receiving email, I write and say "yes, cancel".

22-Apr - I receive an email saying it can't be cancelled as it has been shipped (NOTE that this is ONE WEEK AFTER I said cancel).

21-Apr - Shipped
23-Apr - Received.

On 23-Apr, I received 1G of 70% ethyl alcohol that smells foul. Is this from insufficient distillation? I don't know. Yes, I would rather have smelly hands than an infection. But, I would not have ordered it if it said "smells rank - deal with it". I honestly cannot stand the smell and it is totally unusable for crying out loud it is billed at as hand sanitizer from a place that is supposed to specialize in aroma products.

The 62% that I ordered had NOTHING about smelling bad. Further, at some point the site said (words to the effect) "We changed product and if you ordered the 62% you might get it or you might not."

24Apr - I ended up buying 99% isopropyl at $30/quart (they had ethyl for $25/qt). Free shipping and it was 4 days from order to receive! FOUR DAYS!

OK, $120/gallon for good quality that you get in a few days or $60/gallon for unusable and foul stuff after waiting a month.

I have taught myself not to assume malice when incompetence will do.

I did, eventually, get something. Nevertheless, based on my experience, I cannot recommend that anyone have anything to do with this company.

(I have made a sincere attempt to accurately communicate my experience and checked dates etc... If I have made an error, it is small and unintentional).

Could Care Less If Products Are In Stock

Bulk Apothecary could be a tremendous company, but their owners seem to not care at all. I truly feel bad for their customer service reps the most. They have to take the brunt of customers who are furious over the constant issues with their items not being in stock. Worse yet is when they it is in stock and you order it and guess what happens. They refund the money and give no explanation.

I have been running businesses for over 20 years. I completely understand that running out of things can happen. However, I am really wondering how items on their site can be out of stock for small amounts when they still offer case quantity items.

For the past 6 to 8 months we were told that they were going to sync their online inventory with their actual physical inventory. Because of numerous out of stock issues as a company we had quit ordering from them and decided to go with their competitors who have never been out of stock on any item.

This past month we decided to give them a shot at gaining our business again. For those that do not know... They do have on average the best pricing on their products (when they are in stock for real).

We placed an order a couple weeks ago with no issues. They are always prompt on their shipping and the items have never been an issue for us. Today we decided to give them another try. We ordered bottles, caps, potassium hydroxide and orange essential oil (16oz) so that we could fulfill some orders that were coming up.

After placing the order and paying we received an email a couple hours later stating that they had shipped our order. As always we check all emails from our suppliers to make sure that the correct items appear in the details of the shipment.

The first thing we notice is that only 3 of the 4 items we ordered had been shipped. No note was on our email stating that they were out of our Essential Oil. In fact it was not until I called that their customer rep told me that they were out of the orange essential oil I had ordered and were simply refunding our money. No notice, no asking if we wanted to wait for it to come in (btw they normally take months to get items in... in fact one item we have monitored has been out of stock for almost a year now).

While speaking with the rep I asked him if the owners even really understood how negatively this impacts their business to always have these issues. He said that they have had a company meeting and were going to fix the problem really soon. ( 6 months ago they said the same thing)

Here is what I find most interesting. Last year we had multiple order issues with them. When we attempted to give a product rating on an item we had an issue with regarding quality they never allowed the negative review. It is impossible for any company to have a 5 star review on pretty much all of their products or service especially with the number of issues they have with regards to items being out of stock so much not to mention there are some quality issues.

I can only say that they have lost our companies business as they have cost us money once again as we are forced to purchase an item elsewhere and incur additional shipping charges all because they simply could not get their online ordering synced with their physical inventory.

One other thing that prompted us to stop working with them last year was what we were told by a rep when a similar issue came up. We asked the rep how long it was going to be before the item we needed was going to be in stock again. She told us that it most likely would be months at best because the item was not a high priority item. This sounds like a company that is struggling to figure out what doing business really means. All this does is simply upset their customer base and slowly erodes confidence in them, driving customers to their competitors.
