I have never used this site and never will, I learned about it from the television ads which are insulting and demeaning to all teachers. I am a retired teacher who likes to travel after working very hard with children for 35 years. This ad portrays teachers as incompetent and uncaring which is neither true nor amusing. I advise all educators to avoid this company which holds us in contempt.
Deceptive. Watch miles from if you decide to choose a hotel "close" to the town you're looking at. Booking.com provides "straight line" distance; there may be NO ROADS.
What was 11.2 miles according to the Booking.com site became 28 miles (with roads) and a 45 minute drive.
Deceptive. You only see the straight line deal if you hover over the italicized miles provided, which does not look like a link. I will never book with them again.
I am writing because I feel like booking.com doesn't go through with what the offer, they stated that I would receive $25 credit when I check out. It has almost been a month after I stayed and input my credit card info, still no reward. Still no answer I have emailed and called the customer service and they are not helpful or nice to deal with. I would go with other booking services from now on beware!
I booked 3 separate nights at a property in Toronto. Soon after booking I got emails from the property owners saying (a) my reservation would be cancelled within 48 hours if I didn't sent money, while booking.com said I had until a week before each date to cancel; and (b) that I had to book for 3 nights on each stay though booking.com let me book for one night on each trip.
Will never use them again.
Booked a room for 2 nights online, and come to find that they booked it for the wrong nights! After getting an email along the lines of "you didn't show up" I called booking.com. The best they could do was call the hotel to ask them to not charge me a no-show fee. When they were unsuccessful it was up to me to do their dirty work. No offers to do anything further, despite the fact that it was their fault. Now I'm out the money and will tell everyone I know to never book with booking.com.
I would have saved hundreds by reserving directly with the Porter Square Hotel in Cambridge, Mass., instead of through Booking.com. I booked three nights there for a mid-October college reunion, at a nightly rate of less than $200, which is great value for Cambridge. When I got my confirmation, I didn't see a rate on the email. Turns out (a) you had to scroll way, way, way, way, down to see what you'd be charged, and (b) what you saw was not a nightly rate but a total. That total was $814, which I didn't realize until I checked in. I almost passed out. At that point, of course, every hotel for miles around was full.
When I emailed Booking.com customer service (you can't speak to a person on the phone), I got a terse email informing me that my charges were in the confirmation. What a racket these folks are running!
This website booking.com has the best prices you could ever find online the best part you book now pay later booking.com website is easy to use you can also book rooms for friends or family with no problem I give 100 stars. Thanks
I booked an apartment with no reviews and immediately received a request, by email, to pay 30% up front by wire transfer. At no time was it stated that a wire transfer was required. I reported this to booking.com as possible fraud but they actually insist that I make a wire transfer or pay a cancellation fee. It's disgusting that they are promoting what is very likely fraud especially considering that they will not reimburse anything if I get ripped off.
It would be fine if I agreed to this when booking, but nothing about a wire transfer was stated in the listing. I'm really astonished that booking.com is trying to bully me into wiring hundreds of Euros to a no-review apartment based on a fraudulent listing.
Hi there,
I'm sorry to hear you feel this way. Please note that the deposit/payment information is included on the booking page and throughout the booking process. If you'd like me to look into it could you please provide me with your booking number?
Regards, Mac

Same property advertised on Air B& B, only it was £10 cheaper even AFTER a 10% genius discount provided by Booking.com. On review Booking.com stated that the offer wasn't the same since Air B&B only offered a free cancellation for 48 hours rather than <7 days prior to travel. Absolutely disgusted. The customer Service rep I spoke to was pleasant, but the system/Manager was truly dreadful. I won't use Booking.com again as a guest, and the property that I currently advertise on Air B&B won't be moving or shared with Booking.com. Shame on you Booking.com
I booked one night on May 12,2023 for Convenience guest house from Booking.com. When I got there, nobody was in this property, which is dark house and locked. They ask me to pay deposits with weird link after I phoned them. But my iphone blocked this link. Then I had to leave this property. Nobody contact me before and after May 12. Next day I phoned booking, one week later, I phoned booking again. They can't refund me because property owner refuse to. I have no way to get money back even Nobody open the door for me.
We booked a hotel through Booking.com. And the room turned out to be the opposite of what it described. Instead of a "spacious" room, we were put into a cramp one. We were lucky not getting any bruises while shuffling in narrow space. Can't believe how Booking.com can allow such false description on their site to mislead customers.
When we called Booking.com. To raise the issue of confusing payment policies, one of the representatives was rude and impatient and cut us off. When we called back, she didn't even answer the call. Can't help feeling that Booking.com abuses its popularity and does not do enough to protect its customers. Its only concern is not to upset the hoteliers. Upgrading membership is just a hook to get you into booking more hotels like the one we stayed. Our trust on Booking.com is now very low and we'll avoid it as much as we can when booking hotels.
Booking.com does not have a customer service.
All the hundreds of complaints on this and other websites state, most of the time, that Booking.com was contacted when the problem arose AND THEN Booking.com does nothing most of the time leaving us to rant and rave on these websites and then a Booking.com posts a message for more information, info that they already have.
Why didn't they resolve the problem in the first place?
Booking rely on this shoddy customer service as most people don't have the time, energy or confidence to fight them and walk away out of pocket.
I am currently looking at my legal options but will be posting very actively my experiences.
Hello MJ,
I'm sorry to hear of any dissatisfaction when using the Booking.com service. Is there a certain booking number that I can assist you with?

I booked a stay at the red carpet hotel through booking but lost my card so i could not check in.Contacted booking who gave me a run around with refunding me and the customer rep hung up on me multiple times. This was Aug 2022 and they promised they would refund to this day i still have not been refunded. My advice is do not use booking.com.
I think the word will spread that Booking.com are not a company to be trusted. I have been waiting over a month for the refund they promised. Numerous emails and telephone conversation and always they promise that the money will be paid in 5 days or by the end of the week but still no action. It is just talk. They will promise to investigate the matter further. I can see by their responses to previous reviews on this website that they use polite customer service tone to make you feel reassured that they will investigate the matter further. Warning be very wary of this company. Try someone else or just book with the hotel direct.
Hi There,
I'm sorry to hear that you feel this way. I would like to review your reservation to see if there is any way I can assist you. Can you please provide me with your booking number?

I know I should be more aware of everything at everything when I book. So some of this is me being me. But some of us ppl are not made for computing, and me being easily stressed was really bugged by registering while the stupid page says there's only four rooms left and ppl are booking. So I somehow missed that the dates were wrong. Booking.com offers suggestions which involve contacting the hotel and asking for goodwill about the fees, but the hotel said my relation was with the third party.
In my humble opinion, hotels should not offer this "gamble deal" on booking.com, because it is honey to ppl travelling without the strongest budget, and if something goes awry, you are not secured by insurance or at booking.com. Booking.com poses a solution that is not real. It does not guide you to the solution it proposes. I would insert a screen print here, but as I said I'm not computer friendly.
This is sad.
I am a genius member with booking.com for many years however they let me down and Ive decided I rather use other booking website and agent instead of booking.com. The reason behind this is because I went on a trip with my partner and booking a hotel but it is actually an apartment like air bnb in europe. We've been abusive by phone call before we arrive through the owner of apartment so we decided to stay in other place (again, book through booking.com) and we contacted booking, com hopefully to get a refund as the owner's attitude is unacceptable. After many emails, booking.com support owner all the way and ignored the fact that we were being abused over the phone. So we lost all our money and what we got is a abusive phone call and threatened us if we dont pay the extra money we unlikely will get the key get into the apartment.
Good bye booking, com, I will not allow you give the opportunity to treat me like this again.
My confirmation stated that payment would be made at hotel, however, my MasterCard was billed within two days of booking. My stay at the hotel is Sept 1 and Sept 2. I have booked in at 3 other hotels where i will be staying on my trip. I did not use Booking.com and no problem, free cancellation and they are not billing me until I arrive. Fortunately I have access to many people also I write reviews on my blog that is read world wide.
Went to book a hotel booking claims they wont charge your credit card until you stay at the hotel. Just checked my card and the entire amount was charged. Booking sucks use expedia or one of the other travel sites but anything but booking. The entire reason I used booking was because I didnt want to be charged. Its too much of a damn hassle to call booking and the hotel and fight with them over a charge that if refunded would be 5-10 business days anyhow. Screw booking dot com. Terrible experience. Never again.
I wish i could give them 0 stars. Tried to list my property with them and gave up in the end because they insisted it had to be shown under different location. Contacted their customer department 20 times... they are absolutely incompetent to say the least... terrible, terrible company...
Rented a car through booking.com from Fox in Las Vegas. Arrived to pick up my ride on time as discussed with FOX and was advised no car for me and booking.com was unwilling to help either. They had my money and the rest does not matter. Fox was no better with helping and had zero cars available. Thank god I used Expedia for the 6 hotel bookings or I could have been sleeping on the street. Lost customer for them both along with my social media followers
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
Booking.com has a rating of 1.2 stars from 4,236 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Booking.com most frequently mention customer service, credit card and free cancellation. Booking.com ranks 445th among Hotels sites.
Hello,
I am sorry to hear this. I would like to look into the hotel you booked to ensure the accuracy of the information on Booking.com's website. Can you post your booking number or email it to customer.web@booking.com. I appreciate your feedback as it will help improve the service provided.
