We booked a 4 night stay in Majorca on 23 April 2015 with Booking, com> We use them regularly! When we arrived the Hotel manager informed us that the reservation had been cancelled and the hotel was full. There were rooms available across the road in another hotel but we had to pay an additional 224 Euros. Have just come off the phone with Customer services who informed me that just after the booking was made the hotel tried to view my credit card details and said they were invalid, an e mail was allegedly sent to me but never received. I always use the same credit card to book with and there is no problem with it. They are not interested in what has happened to us, why oh why didn't someone telephone to double check the situation! This is the ultimate flaw with booking on line! We will never use Booking.Com again!
In which sector does a broker gets 20% of the revenues when connecting demand with offer? Booking.com!
In which sector are clients, the hotels, treated like small children, who should be happy wight he guests booking.com sends the? The hospitality sector.
In which branch are clients, m who don't pay or don't show up. Still; enabled to write a review about their customer experience? Booking com!
In which branche are protests against this kind of stupid reviews in vain? Booking.com!
In short it is time to think about an alternative for booking.com and to combine forces...
I booked a hotel in Dallas TX that was advertising pet friendly (Tropicana Inn and suites) they refused my reservation and booking.com and the hotel are now trying charge me a cancellation fee equal to one night. Which they will fail at become I am smarter..
When you first list your property with them they don't even allow you to take a deposit for a reservation. I have had ALL reservations cancelled, short notice which is not the purpose of owning vacation rentals. Booking is a rip off. Don't waste your time.
I completely agree with comments about review posting - a negative review of mine did not get published. I contacted Customer Service to request information if something was wrong with what had been written and they didn't even care to reply to me.
Booked a hotel (Hilton waterfront) through booking.com in Jacksonville FL for UFC fight. Received confirmation from booking.com and called hotel directly to confirm. Hyatt said we did not have reservation, no rooms available, and that booking.com confirmation# is basically worthless. Hyatt said that booking.com routinely over books rooms and we would have to call booking.com customer service. Booking.com has Terrible customer service did absolutely nothing (said they would email Hyatt and call me back-never received call back) and almost ruined the trip. Fortunately able to find a room at Sheraton much further away from downtown but at least we had a place to stay last minute because all the hotels downtown were booked up. Will never make the mistake of using booking.com again. If you book using them make sure you immediately call the hotel directly to confirm so you don't get screwed!
On two separate occasions, Booking.com has failed to provide even basic support.
In the first, I booked a hotel. Upon arrival told "no rooms" and then escorted to another hotel that was of much poorer quality.
In the second, booked a rental car with Dollar. Upon arriving notified the wait would be "hours and they may not have any availability." Chatted with Booking.com and told that we were eligible for refund so booked another car (at much greater expense). Upon return from trip Booking.com refused to honor refund.
I booked a two night stay at embassy suites. Paid 743.00 confirmed it with the manager there in San Antonio and the board walk. Two months later here in San Antonio and my last day I noticed embassy suites charging my card again for that amount. Front desk lady said they have been trying to collect from booking. Com but they haven't been able to collect. So they are charging my card. Scam with both companies in my eyes. Sneaky way to collect. Not write. I tried to dispute it with PayPal and they can't do anything either. This Sucks! No customer service at either company. I hope this helps you and not the companies.
A good experience for me. Has been using this service for 5 years already and never actually had problems with bookings. As a precaution I always call the hotel after booking it to be assured everything went as it was supposed to.
Their customer service is awful. I've been trapped in this hotel which I booked for 10 nights. I've contacted customer service 4 times now and have not heard back. They've already charged me the full amount and won't give me a refund.
I booked 12 rooms in January in Spain I was sent info of the costs per room collected everyone's money to find out yesterday 5 months later every room has gone up in price as you can imagine it is a headache as I have booked for 28 pax is this right? Tracy
I never knew that people have so many bad things to say about Booking. I have used this service countless times already and decided to finally write a review. And what I see here. I'm shocked. Anyway, I've never had any issues with Booking, the process is always smooth and everything works great.
You have to all a UK number (there are not local country toll free numbers) and be put on hold for several minutes to cancel a flight. While booking.com has been good for some hotel booking and certain flights, it turns into a big hassle once you want to cancel/modify your flight bookings.
This booking.com is a scam. They will charge your credit card for full amount of hotel stays whether you stay or not. No cancellations or modifications on your booking. It is run by a bunch of foreigners. Do not expect any refunds or help. When you make a reservation that's the last you ever get in touch with them. They no longer have any contact with the hotel you made the reservation with. I have contacted a lawyer and my bank to try to resolve this problem. I would advise anyone else that has problems to do the same. Better business bureau should truly do something about these companies.
Ok so I booked a hotel and had to cancel. They charged me the first night as a cancellation fee. Not clear at all on the site feel really conned. I then looked at the tiny tiny small print and there is no way to cancel without some charge. So my advise book direct with the hotel. Same price but better cancellation policy. Very sleazy operation. I called customer service and they couldnt care less.
Bad organized, they don't care about their customers.
If there is something happening and you even have proof if the property or room that more things are not going on well, they don't take it in consideration.
Even thought you as an idiot have to pay sometimes up front for non-refundable bookings. You can say bye-bye to the money, no matter how much proof you have or how many things went bad with your stay! Even when important things are not okay like the location of the property or rats, they don't care and anybody can book it again and again. Really, really bad….
I surely recommend Airbnb (very good customer service!), Trivago, Kayak or Expedia.
I proved to them that the property i rented had shown false images and they refused to give a refund or even penalize the property owners. Basically they are in cahoots with these 'thugs' and as a result would recommend you use AIR BnB it's sad but true.
We stayed at 'Under the Moonlight' during our Christmas break this year (2021). Albeit being an excellently furnished and outstanding abode, the place in it self was full of cobwebs and dust. I am terrified of spiders and also allergic to dust, therefore, our holiday was not as exceptional as I would have liked it to be. I had to use my Inhaler multiple times to avoid getting an asthma attack, and I was not comfortable even sitting on the sofa due to the fear of a spider popping out of the cushions. The person who checked us in was very unhelpful and distant. I would never go back to this place, although we fell in love with Dinner Plain. I would not recommend a stay at this particular chalet to anyone.
I've come to Lake George every year since I was a kid for the past 30 years. I have never stayed at Scotty's Lakeside Resort before and I can say I honestly never will. The rooms were severely outdated along with the furniture being severely outdated too. There was peeling chipping paint in the room and space heaters that were overlapping with the curtains from the window which could possibly cause a fire hazard in my opinion. It was nice to be right by the lake that was the nice part but I won't be staying here again
Dear, Booking, you should really do something about your page and system and everything. Because when you came out, it was really something else, now, look at your prices? When you check AirBnb you can find much cheaper rooms that look even better than the hotel. So please, I am your customer for such a long time, but if you now going to do anything, then sorry I will quit.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
