I bought two sonos sound systems and paid to have the Geek Squad come out and install them. They gave me a 4 hour window and never showed up. No phone call, no email, nothing. I later got an email suggesting that I reschedule on line. I rescheduled for the following Saturday between 8 AM and Noon. The following Saturday they were a no show again! 8 hours of my life wasted. I called and talked to a supervisor. They apologized and promised they would be out the following Saturday and would make me the first stop at 8 AM so I don't have to wait another 4 hours. Its now 9:15 AM and I haven't seen them. I will never use Best Buy or Geek Squad again. The worst service experience ever!
Never knew about Best buys deal of the day offers and if you have time it's worth checking them out. I got a skylanders starter pack for a great price when it first came out and a Asus tablet for super cheap. It's just one of those things you have to be lucky enough to stumble upon.
The Geek Squad protection etc is a RIP-OFF! They don't honor most of their terms and they try to give you the run around when trying to cancel your subscription.
They'll keep you on hold, hang up, different employees will tell you different things etc.?
It's not worth the hassle! Take your business elsewhere!
This is one of those businesses that you go into looking for someone to help you find a particular item and you walk around the department for 30+ minutes for help and the sales people, (usually barely high school graduate age) walk right passed you to wait on a young person, or are standing shooting the breeze with other late teen or early twenty something sales staff members and totally ignoring you.
I've been a Best Buy customer for over 20 years and have bought a lot of products from them, and appreciate an alternative to Amazon. The customer service has always been good... until now. I bought a rice cooker and had to wait for it to be delivered to my local store for pickup. I got it and the first time I tried to use it, the electronic timer didn't work, which is the whole point of a rice cooker. I brought it back for an exchange, but Best Buy Tysons Corner refused to and were completely unhelpful. They basically said it was my problem to resolve. Guess I will buy from Amazon in the future and not from Best Buy.
I used to work in the US and bought from Best Buy. Their return policy was and still is very general as long as the product you return is in it's original package. They have since opened up in Canada. The store is close to where I live and I shop there often. Because their sales team is not on commission, their sale representatives are not as pushy nor picky and show real interest in helping you. The only problem here in Vancouver is that they don't have much competition.
Fast and efficient delivery. Love they use express post as standard.
Happy with my iPad cover. They offer easy returns and are quick to respond to any questions. Can't fault this company and would highly recommend based on my experience.
I've ordered a lot through the site using Paypal and have not had a problem. In fact, when my computer changed me to a store out of state, they promptly cancelled the order and sent another. Simple way to shop
I like that you can pay online and pick up in store. The prices are somewhat competitive and you have to do a lot of research to know what you are really getting for a laptop or computer for the price since they offer many "package deals". I tend to only buy items I know a lot about from this site. The warranty options are great and I've had a problem with using their warranties. I also like the membership points option.
Geek Squad is the worst. They are incredibly slow. Nobody knows what anyone else is saying or doing. They lie. They tell you one price one day and double it the next. You can't speak to a supervisor. No one returns your call as promised. The web site is useless. If you go in a store, most employees are just standing around.
I bought a stove from Best Buy. Progressively over the year the stove became less operative. After weeks of discussion with Best Buy they referred me to their third party administrator- Sedgwick. Sedgwick is a maze to connect with and nothing gets resolved. It's been months and I'm still navigating a dysfunctional system to work with what has been determined to be a defective product. Do not buy appliances through Best Buy. It's a bad experience if something goes wrong.
After claims and disputes made with Best Buy, I still have yet to receive my refund on a purchase made 12/8/2021 that was damaged in the mail and UPS filed the claim on 12/21/2021. They then told me on the phone today that $129.39 was refunded to my account which I have no documentation of on my account and my purchase was made for $181.64. I filed another claim today so hopefully, I will be refunded. Their reply so far has been "The documentation shows you did not cancel the service or return the merchandise according to the merchant's terms". If I never received it how can I return it? I also called them on 12/21/2021 to let them know UPS said it was damaged and what did I need to do. They said "once the claim is submitted by UPS, you will receive a refund". 3.5 months later I am still fighting to get a refund. I'd give them 0 stars if it were an option.
The delivery team called 30 min before delivery, called again that they were in the building, and disappeared. It took over an hour on the phone with customer support to learn that they left due to a parking issue. The resolution the customer support team is suggesting is "Nothing can be done today. Will call you tomorrow."
The most disgusting customer support I have seen. The *******289 support number, is horrible. I have been dealing with an issue since Nov 11,2022, which a local supervisor was supposed to handle, and he said to call this number because it was corporate. IT IS NOT! It goes into a black hole overseas. Still my issue has not been solved and this particular local supervisor poorly handled it. I want Best Buy to contact me directly so I can put a formal complaint. Which in turn, if you all notice, you cant get in touch directly with them. It tells you something. ZERO STARS.
Only some people can create accounts. You have to create account to buy. When I try to create an account it won't let me. So I go onto their message boards and post a question, and someone named Melissa sent me a very rude racist message and basically said my kind was not welcome there. Thank God for Amazon.
I purchased an item. I was charged $200+ more than I authorized. Screen shots to prove it. No one at Best Buy can help, their service is terrible. Good thing I paid on my credit card and they will take care of it. Best Buy is awful
So the in store friendly ness is good but at the geek squad they look at it for only like a few minutes then tell you that it's going too need diagnostic and that's like 100 bucks and that's not even guarantee they will find the issue
Don't fall for it, the BB appliance delivery is the worst. You order online and think it's all great and then they email and call and say the delivery date has been changed. They often cannot fulfill their delivery promise. Home Depot and Lowes sell many of the same appliances at similar rates and never seem to have terrible delivery issues like BB. Beware!
Best Buy almost always has great product and excellent service.
The only reason to place it below a 5 is that there are times when it is difficult to acquire said service. It isn't always easy to find help in the store. And while there are occasionally those employees who would rather chat than help you, I refuse to hold that against the company as a whole.
Great company, excellent service, excellent product. They could afford to higher one or two more folks during heavy traffic times. :)
I truly enjoy shopping at Best Buy for my electronics and video connections. With their ample selection, usually, it's a one-stop deal. But, another courtesy that I really appreciate is their willingness to steer you to competitors and other outlets that might be able to satisfy my needs. These are the 2 main factors that persuade me to start my searches at Best Buy.
Answer: I am sure there is a catch-like a 2 year contract. No one gives you a phone for $1
Answer: All I can say is that you obviously have been very lucky. I was a dedicated customer for 25 years, however, I would do without before I ever spent another dime in a Best Buy!
Answer: I would write a letter to your state's attorney general. There are laws regarding taking advantage of senior citizens. I would specifically ask for documentation from Best Buy in which your grandmother gave them permission to recycle her 18 month old computer. If they cannot produce that document they may be in very big trouble with the state's attorney general. I would also write the BBB and contact your public officials. This I think would be paramount to theft if your grandmother did not give them permission to recycle her computer. On the flip side of things, ASUS is a very good machine. My son is a computer scientist and swears by ASUS. I have three ASUS machines one of which is over 5 years old and it is a workhorse. Unless something significant happens in the ASUS business world, I will continue to buy ASUS!
Answer: Great question. Let us know if you were able to get reimbursed.
Answer: I chose Best Buy tech support because they seemed to offer a good deal on support and I bought my products there. I'll go elsewhere now.
Answer: I dont know? I dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont knowi dont know
Answer: Write a genuine review for a product you buy from there, get upto $25 gift certificate
