On 8/15/2016 I purchased an iPhone 6s from bestbuy.com. My order was initially declined and immediately canceled (even though I got a follw up email giving me 24 hours to correct the problem). I corrected the problem within no more than 45 minutes and re placed the order.
Bestbuy.com was giving a free gift with the iPhone. That free gift did not go with the re placed order. Apparently I would have had to refuse the order and start the whole thing over again. I just learned that would take quite a bit of time but I'll get to that.
When. I got the message from UPS that it had been shipped, I immediately called them and had it sent back. I did not do this so that I could re place the order, I ordered one directly from Apple, but rather because I found the fact that the gift didn't carry over unfair. I intended to return the iphone and forget about it.
What lead me to write this is the day after I returned the iphone, I got a message from UPS that I was going to receive an order the next day. I called UPS to send it back but it was already in transit. I called Best Buy to find out what happened but their "computers were down". When I virtually accused her of lying she said they had been down for a couple of days. I guess the Geek Squad is having an off week.
Now I have to take off another day to refuse the package. Even though it requires a signature who knows what their next lie will be. When buying an IPhone shop at Apple. Its a bit more but for a protection plan its a flat $129.00 rather than $11.00 a month, they have a free set up session with an actual person and fantastic customer service. Like many fellow reviewers, I found Best Buy nothing short of despicable and lets face facts.
Never knew about Best buys deal of the day offers and if you have time it's worth checking them out. I got a skylanders starter pack for a great price when it first came out and a Asus tablet for super cheap. It's just one of those things you have to be lucky enough to stumble upon.
HAVE BOUGHT A FEW BIG TICKET ITEMS THERE. NOT SOLD ON GEEK SQUAD EXPERTISE. PRICES USUALLY HIGHER THAN aMAZON. I VISIT THIS PLACE LESS AND LESS.
Sometimes you can get lucky, the stores are nice. The people or geek-squad are complete morons probably an 80 IQ if not lower. I have been in IT for over 25 years and the things I heard there you can't even make up.
I do browse occasionally thru the stores and compare. RARELY will I buy anything since the prices are too rich for me. There are better deals to be had in other electronic stores. But hey- it helps me to inform myself about products. The best I have gotten so far is buying the booklet from Consumer Report and researching the various products from the booklet and internet reviews.
This is a great company! They go out of their way to make the customer happy! Keep doing what you're doing!
Every Best Buy I have visited has knowledgeable staff, good quality merchandise, reasonable prices, and enough registers to get you out without long delays. My favorite store for electronics!
I bought an item online, they shipped it to me and I found it was not working so they simply told me to return it to any local outlet and they will provide me with a refund. This relates to 30 days or less.
The downside to Bestbuy is the local stores don't have much of everything in stock as they get what they get from their main warehouse so buying online is usually where I have to go to buy from BestBuy but returns cost nothing and there is no RMA's or hassle providing you do it within 30 days. 4 stars for BestBuy as its a good store but it doesn't carry everything locally.

They are great for their sales, selection, & service for all sorts of electronics including TVs, computers of every form & function, & cell phones, then there are all the CDs & DVDs

I had some experience with small issues like few broken pixels on my laptop, or not working buttons on my PS controller, but that is nothing comparing with the customer support and wide range of products they offer. Still the best offline shop for electronics.
Buying an appliance. It is great to be at a store for a major purchase and the people were not just polite, but a Nice Polite and they are well educated on the products they sell and surprisingly aware of what their competitors are selling.
I cannot believe how bad the customer service is for Best Buy. I went in to the Tualatin, OR store looking for a home theater projector. I went to that store because it had a big Magnolia section. After telling the salesman what I was looking for ( a projector for home theater with HD and wireless HDMI) he showed me two projectors. He went over the differences and what each was best for. Based on his review of my situation, he recommended the Sony projector for $2000. Added the ceiling mount and install etc. I again asked if it was wireless. He printed the page for me showing it was. Install date almost 2 weeks out, so had to have patience. Day of delivery, time frame between 8 and 12. Several calls during the morning from installers they were having problems with their previous job. Finally said they would tell the customer there they could not do it and for them to get in touch with the store. When they get to me, they said they had never seen a projector like that one. They had never heard of wireless HDMI. They started looking over the documentation trying to figure it out. Turns out the projector does NOT have wireless! So after an hour they pack up and take everything back with them. Spent most of the afternoon on the phone with the store (ie on hold waiting to speak to someone) to figure if they sent the wrong projector (they did not) or the salesman was wrong (he was).
So now no projector, and unable to get my money back. 2 hours spent with store manager yesterday an exercise in futility. Two allmost one hour calls to Best Buy Corporate I now know there on hold music almost by heart. I will never make this mistake again.
When you can't order online and wait for the items to arrive, you can get them from Best Buy and have them price match for you. Nice!

I went to buy a new laptop a few weeks ago and now I visited the store yesterday and saw the same laptop cheaper. I talk to the manager and he give me some money back! Awesome! Thanks!

Answer: I would write a letter to your state's attorney general. There are laws regarding taking advantage of senior citizens. I would specifically ask for documentation from Best Buy in which your grandmother gave them permission to recycle her 18 month old computer. If they cannot produce that document they may be in very big trouble with the state's attorney general. I would also write the BBB and contact your public officials. This I think would be paramount to theft if your grandmother did not give them permission to recycle her computer. On the flip side of things, ASUS is a very good machine. My son is a computer scientist and swears by ASUS. I have three ASUS machines one of which is over 5 years old and it is a workhorse. Unless something significant happens in the ASUS business world, I will continue to buy ASUS!
