Over the years I have purchased many custom framed pieces of art from this company and their workmanship has always been excellent. It sensed that maybe the company had been sol as they no longer offered sales but didn't expect anything to be drastically different
I purchased a print on canvas and was shocked when I received it. The piece was sloppily stapled on the frame and a cheap sawtooth hanger was attached to the top, unlike the wire they've always used. I wound up keeping the piece, fo my regret, because it had taken me so long to find what I needed but every time I look at it, it just looks so cheap. I know I will replace soon. I surely will not buy from them again.
I placed an order and they ran my card 3 times, when I called to inform them they told me the other charges would drop off once my items shipped. Unacceptable, these 2 other charges should immediately be reversed.
I placed an order for a birthday present. Less than a week before it was supposed to arrive (more than ten days after placing the order) I got an email saying my order was cancelled, with no explanation. I called them, and was told that the frame I ordered was out of stock, and that they had tried to notify me by email. I checked all my spam folders and never got an email. They did not offer to do anything to make it right. I'm without birthday present for my wife.
I waited weeks for a piece I ordered. Finally they tell me it's back ordered. I cancelled. Ordered another piece, same thing. After 6 weeks I still have only 1 of 5 ordered and it's garbage! I was shocked when I opened it. The piece repeats at an interval that they left a portion of the next print on my edging, that overlaps the canvas. The hanger was one you could buy at Walmart and it was put on crooked. This place, along with their affiliate ALL POSTERS, should be run out of business. It's all crap!
Ordered a framed item... expected a few days to process, no issue with that. Paid for expedited shipping. 3-4 days. Fine print says 3-4 business days... my package has traveled 787 miles in 4 days. At 192 miles per day, i am generously including non business days, my package will probably be delivered in 11 more days. The tracking says in 4 more days, May 12... but I think that means another 12 days in the month of May. If I exclude non business days and give an extra day at the destination hub, My package should be delivered to the gift recipient no sooner than May 26. Expedited Bull Shat.
I ordered 3 large posters which came to about 100$. Had to pay customs coming into Canada before Fedex would release them and then they were dropped off outside my door with the box pretty crushed at one end and posters too creased to hang. Although it wasn't exactly art.com's fault, except for the flimsy packaging, I didn't think I'd get any help from them based on all the bad reviews. I was pleasantly surprised though with the prompt customer service I got from Marley after contacting them by email. My posters were replaced and I didn't have to wait too long for them. It seems the business is run with a lot of automated communication, but you can reach a human when needed. They are selling pretty reasonably priced prints and it was the only shop where I could find all the prints that I wanted. Am happy it worked out.
I have ordered quite a few items from Art.com with mixed results. Most of the items were fantastic (very vivid lush colors printed on thick quality paper), but some were shockingly amateurish (blurry and faded colors on cheap, thin and frustratingly warped paper.
It's interesting how many reviews I read that complained about the customer service. When I needed to return items, I was treated with professionalism, courtesy and respect. In fact, they said I wouldn't need to return the item at all while providing a full refund. This is why I keep going back; this type of Rockstar customer service makes me feel much more confident about ordering images I love.
After repeated attempts to obtain help logging into the art.com site and receiving curt and unhelpful responses, I am baffled that these people are still in business! Is there an owner there that cares about the business? Reads reviews? I am shopping online a great deal on a current project and have no issues with Amazon, Ballard Designs, Grandinroad, Wayfair, Crate and Barrel, Williams Sonoma, CB2, Pottery Barn and everyone except Home Depot, whose website isn't responsive (the people are friendly and helpful though). Shameful! And it is so frustrating for potential customers looking for help finding their account information.
I ordered pics for my daughters new office in San Jose. 4 stretched canvas. Cute pics for a nurse. I had no problems with delivery or having to wait to long. She said they are very nice. So I don't have any complaints. Their website was glitchy to track the orders, but seems to be fixed now. However, I was able to do a chat no problem. They were delivered within a couple weeks. I posted a couple pics
I've been pleased with the many purchases I've made on Art.com... but what I'm not pleased with is their current website. I use an Android phone for all internet activity... NOT a computer... and the website has become unusable for me. You could spend hours doing what should take 15 minutes. Whatever it is that you've done... please fix it. I will not be coming to your website until you fix it.
There's nothing wrong with the product but this company loves to change prices on a whim. While their "sales" last for an enumerated period of time, nothing stops them from changing the base price of items that you indicate an interest in. Play games with this company because they play games with their customers, shop from different IPs and don't assume the prices will remain the same from day to day--even if a "sale" last for several days.
Waterlillies by Monet.
Original image stretched ten times to show no detail whatsoever! Looks like a hot mess of blues and greens. Don't believe in their sales! It's a scam! At least they gave me a full refund.
I had an issue with their contract shipper (FedEx) who failed to honor my vacation hold set up on the FedEx account manager, lied about the delivery being made during the vacation hold, although we could see the package on the front step via our security camera, and refused to pick up the merchandise even though they were not supposed to have delivered it. Art.com responded immediately to my complaint with a full credit on the cost of shipping my order. Couldn't ask for a better outcome, although FedEx should be making amends, not Art.com.
Found my purchases to be good ones but, and this is consistent throughout all the purchases, their shipping is horrific. Absolutely horrific! I now purchase from other sites that give consistent two-day delivery.
I am very surprised to read all of the negative reviews. I just ordered a piece called Greetings from Dubuque, Iowa. My order came less than a week after I ordered it! I bought a frame elsewhere and framed it hung it up immediately. I posted a picture of it on Facebook and linked to art.com in case anyone was interested!
The selection is wide, I found everything I was looking for quickly. Prints are often available in several sizes, and are of good quality. The packaging is good, the shipment is quick, and the prices are reasonable. If you want good art reproductions at reasonable prices, shop here, find a reasonable framer, and enjoy. An excellent experience. My apartment looks a lot better now, and no more Thrift Shop art.
My recent order was processed and sent quickly. It was framed well and arrived in great condition. But I was less than impressed with the quality of the giclee print. It was slightly blurry.Other print I have ordered have been fine. So maybe just a fluke?
Easy web-site to navigate, but I am uncomfortable with their constant coupon discounts... hard to know what the real price is from the "sale" price.
Bottom line: Good prices, fast(ish) shipping, great customer support. Framed art better than canvas IMO. I'd purchase from here again.
I bought six prints from art.com, a combination of framed pictures and mounted on canvas. All canvas art was 9x13 stretched on 1.5" stretcher bars. I would have preferred a smaller depth, maybe. 75 or 1". I did request a replacement for one that was totally askew when they stapled it to the back but the others were acceptable. I think the canvas art is better suited for larger prints.
The framed art is nicer and, to be honest, much better quality than I expected. In addition to the mounting hanger, they thoughtfully added two pieces of felt at the bottom, so the painting hangs flush against the wall. Contacting customer service was easy (although there was one incident where the chat operator went "away" in the middle of our conversation). However, in general the customer service department communicated clearly, appropriately and responded in a timely fashion.
After paying extra for expedited shipping I received notification that my order would be delayed due to quality issues. When it finally arrived the print was dirty and not centered in the frame. No answer from customer service. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this poorly run company.
I ordered a poster from art.com. Paid $19 for OVERNIGHT for $30 something poster cause it's urgent for an event on Saturday. It said it will be arrive on August 30 somehow end up arriving on Sept 4 (that's 5 days late!) They don't say sorry and the attitude of the customer service are not nice and doesn't seem to care. This company is suck so bad! And their products not even that great.
Answer: Don't be fooled, this company is a scam, they don't deliver and don't refund.
Answer: I found a print and wanted to have it mounted and framed.
Answer: They make their 800 number a bit hard to find and be aware that who you start speaking with has little to no escalation power to resolve more complex matters.
Art.com has a rating of 1.4 stars from 174 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Art.com most frequently mention customer service, delivery date and business days. Art.com ranks 830th among Home Decor sites.
